Grandma Kims Family Diner

This place is my hands-down fall-back place if Im craving Korean food nearby. I had the pleasure of being the foodie sherpa for a few close friends who have frequented only AYCE Korean barbecue places. I told them that this place is not AYCE, but the quality of the meat and service is much better. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and they remember you next time you come back. Within 10 minutes, this became my friends favorite Korean restaurant. The typical Korean BBQ dishes like Bulgogi and Kalbi are very flavorful, but the favorite has to be the spicy barbecue pork and the tofu soup. You must order the spicy barbecue pork! We started out the meal with their Tofu Hotpot...this was a very pleasant surprise! To top off all the barbecue, the owner Richard, decided to give us a cheesecake and green tea ice cream dessert, for free! If my friends werent hooked before, they are now!If youve spent your time only going to AYCE Korean BBQ place, try this place and youll swear youve never tasted what good Korean barbecue really is supposed to taste like. This is the real deal. They have very reasonable prices and a great place for conversation. We ended up staying until they closed. Not once did they pressure us to leave, directly or indirectly.P.S. They have the best green tea ice cream Ive ever tasted.Just go. Thank me later. Check out my name on the wall!

Basils Deli Cafe in Woodland Hills is an absolute gem, and my repeated visits speak volumes about its excellence. Ive savored their culinary delights on five separate occasions, and each time has been a flavor journey beyond compare.Lets start with their hot pastrami sub; its a masterpiece of tender meat, perfectly seasoned and nestled within a fresh, fluffy bun. The flavors meld together in perfect harmony, leaving a lingering satisfaction that keeps me coming back for more. The Philly cheesesteak is a classic done right at Basils. Juicy, succulent strips of beef, smothered in melted cheese, all encased within a crusty roll – its a carnivores dream come true. Each bite is a symphony of textures and tastes, showcasing the culinary prowess of the chefs. Now, onto the spicy Gia, Maria Mamma Mia Panini – a mouthful in more ways than one. This fiery creation packs a punch with every bite, yet its balanced with the richness of melted cheese and the freshness of quality ingredients. Its bold, its daring, and its utterly addictive.Their chicken pesto Panini is a testament to simplicity done right. Tender chicken, fragrant basil pesto, and gooey cheese come together to create a symphony of Italian flavors. Its comfort food at its finest, leaving me feeling satisfied and content with each indulgent bite.In summary, Basils Deli Cafe is a culinary haven where every dish is crafted with care and passion. Whether youre craving a hot pastrami sub, a classic Philly cheesesteak, or something with a bit of a kick, youre guaranteed to find satisfaction here. With each visit, Im reminded of why I keep returning – the impeccable taste, the friendly service, and the unforgettable dining experience. Its a true gem in Woodland Hills, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an out-of-this-world dining experience
Oi Asian Fusion
7242 Canoga Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
My cousin told us about this place. It’s like a Filipino/Korean fusion. Did not eat in the restaurant so can’t really comment on it. But it seemed like the tables were spread apart. Staff was all wearing masks. They have contactless paying as wellOur party had the veggie bowl and the crawfish bowl. I had the adobo bowl and the mango dessert. Adobo bowl was good. Felt like it could use a little more seasoning but it filled me up. The crawfish was good but same thing, could use some more seasoning. The veggie dish was okay. The mango flan dessert was great. Ate that one right up. I believe you could order on their website. I ended up calling and talking to them directly. Would recommend.
Westfield Topanga

No other mall in all of California (and trust me-Ive done every single Mall there is due to my previous career, and before that, myself earned PhD in shopping ?) tops this mall for me. As long as you know how to read a mall map or download their app which is the coolest because you actually do get quite a few bonuses, or if you at least know how and love to wander, this mall was built for everybody. South Coast plaza is an 80s outdated wreck compared to this, and the Northridge Mall will never be able to fit enough tiny low priced boutiques either. The place is so strategically built that the HP store and the Apple store are directly across from each other?.Saks fifth avenue Neiman Marcus Nordstrom s Macys, two stories of h&m as well as forever 21, an entire indoor rodeo drive competition (with bigger & newer of the highest end designer stores, except with much more personable sales associates), the downside only is the fact that they took their beautiful carousel down a couple of years ago, possibly because it wasnt bringing in the profits they expected; but they are continuously re-inventing a family-friendly type of attraction to fill that space (it has a mini food court around it with hot dog on a stick and a pretzel place, and several family and kid apparel store favs (Baby Gap-Gap Kids-Gap-Gap thats full of pajamas bathrobes and spa smelling things), (I do hope the LEGO store is still there), (theres definitely still a Sanrio), (Kids Footlocker),(Journeys Kids) and SO ON... upstairs are more toy stores / preteen interests like game stores/activity/ birthday-type venuesoriented spaces take up that chunk of the mall, which is obviously intentionally right in front of my very favorite two-story Target ever).I could go on and on. I would probably love the food court except for the fact that the average dish per person with a child or adult is $20 and its just a Panda Express with a different name to seem expensive. They do have a good variety though. They have every store that store Lovers love, from adult and kid versions of Abercrombie, adult and kid versions of Victorias secret (TOTALLY kidding, unless PINK counts), for every sneakerhead they have multiple sneaker stores, if youre into shoe Palace they got it if youre into shiekh shoes of course they have that and my favorite is the doc martens store (which also offer toddler & up sized docs), theyve got the anthropology the Free people, Zara and Zara men, and I love Urban outfitters.So... You name it, they have it. And if they dont? I promise the story youre looking for is within a blocks vicinity.OH! I spoke too soon: last time I checked, there was not West elm, there was not Pottery Barn, there was not a container store and not a Bloomingdales. To me those are mandatory stores. But obviously theyve done fabulous enough distracting over the years because I didnt even notice they werent there; and to solve the Bloomingdale problem, they actually have a Nordstroms rack a Saks off of 5th, and Bloomingdales version of discounted store just across the street from the mall. Good enough for me! And with a Chase bank and probably every other bank within half a mile and an Amazon fresh right across from the Topanga village, it has taken me years to be able to navigate that mall and know my way around . The only other mall that I could even size it up to would be the Beverly Center; but even at the center has its own flair. Century City really did a fantastic (I could even say jaw dropping) job on the way they have completely re-done their previously miniscule Mall, so much so that it is breathtakingly beautiful, yet I have not navigated it so when I visited the Bloomingdales their the walk from the parking lot was almost intimidating. But what IS Century City if they cant intimidate?

Update 5/9/24Yeah, still awesome!!!Get an Orion Japanese beer and a Four Seasons plate! You wont regret it!!!!Delish!!!Update 4/2/23: They finally reopened!!! Golf and the family are back and better than ever. If youve never been here please do yourself and this wonderful family the favor of having some of the best sushi in the valley. Yes, Ill say better than most spots on Ventura! Only place Ive ever been that has Chilean Sea Bass sushi. Absolutely one of the best sushi restaurants in the valley!!Wow, what can I say? Ok, yea so maybe Ive been driving by this place for over ten years thinking....naaaaww.But then a good friend of mine said I have to try and let me tell you, try I did! LolThis place is awesome and really shows how sushi in Los Angeles has evolved. Ive noticed that some spots are a mix of maybe Korean, Mexican, Indonesian and if youre lucky, Japanese sushi chefs. And this place keeps up that trend. I learned that a new owner took over about five years ago and it shows.First off, they have my fav Japanese beer, Ichigo as well as my fav sake, Sayuri. Add to this some really good and fresh fish. Now they may not have a huge selection of various fish but thats totally ok. Theres plenty here to keep you intrigued especially how they create the various dishes. The Four Seasons is a great sample of four different fish with different sauces, awesome! Baked Halibut is incredible and something I cant find at other places. But there are lots of special dishes here. Add to all this some great service and friendliness thats always shown to me when Im here. Since Ive become a regular they treat me like family. If youre like me and have been driving by thinking to yourself theres no way that old looking Sushi place in Canoga Park is any good, stop in, grab an Ichigo and ask for an Albacore Delight and soon all those fears will wash away.......see ya there!!
The Cheesecake Factory
6600 CA-27 Suite 51, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
My rating for this restaurant is an actual 0. I don't like giving bad reviews for no reasons but what I went through today was absolutely unacceptable. The saddest part is that this is the second time this is happening. Here is my story, Today I booked an appointment at 2pm. I got there on time and the girl who was at the Reception told me that “ the good thing is that you have an appointment, so your waiting time is 10 minutes. We will call you early than that time!” I was like alright 10 minutes it's okay I will wait. I waited there until 2:20 ( I was just trying to be understanding of the fact that they were busy). When I went and spoke with girl again. She said I am so sorry, we are cleaning up your table and we will Call you in 10 min. Long story short I was let in 2:40 rather than my original appointment time which was 2:10. When I spoke with the manager her excuse was being busy and the worst part is that she didn't even say I am sorry or anything nice rather she gave me and my family an extremely rude attitude. Then we went inside and saw about 8 (with 4 sits)tables open and nobody was cleaning them and making them ready for the costumers! It was so frustrating to see that! The worst part is when I asked my waiter to change our table she said the manger said we can't do that unless you guys wanna wait another 10 min. My whole family and I were extremely dissatisfied and for the first time we left a restaurant before even getting any services! This is not the only place where you can get good food. We went somewhere else with an awesome costumer service and great food! I am so disappointed with Cheesecake Factory! I will never, ever let anyone that I know go to this restaurant ever again! The manger and her crew not only dissrespected us but also had an extremely discriminatory behiavor towards us! ( I would include more info but I don't want take your guys time)Please do yourself a favor and don't come to this restaurant!
Gyu-Kaku

My favorite japanese/korean bbq restaurant. Great selection of cuts and meats, noodles and bibimbap is also good. Beer is cold and comes in giant sizes if you’d like.
Corn N Crab
21013 Sherman Way #3, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
I ordered almost $90 in food last night and woke up very early to food poisoning! The food tasted good but not worth the pain! My boyfriend had a different meal but tried my food and got sick but not as severe. The fried food was good but the shrimp, crawfish, or mussels were not good at all! I mainly eat seafood and have not had this experience in so long! I haven’t been to this location in a few years but I see why there aren’t many people at this restaurant. WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. We should’ve went to Korean BBQ like we planned. I wondered why they said all of the food would be ready in 10 minutes. The food must be old or frozen which is a real shame and disgrace. Very weird since all of the reviews are good BUT the food I got last night looks nothing like the pictures people previously posted. It sucks wasting on a place like this!
