2023-09-24 02:00:29Made a reservation and got here an hour early and they were so kind and able to seat us without issues. The atmosphere was great and the sushi was amazing. Had a great experience.

2023-10-23 00:52:14Good sushi in a fun atmosphere. Seems to be a locals hangout.I wasn’t a big fan of my yuzu role, but I’m willing to return and try something else here.

2022-06-22 01:43:59Received the most amazing service and fresh sushi here. Reservations are highly recommended for the weekend because they were packed when we arrived and were seated. Really convenient location, easily walkable from Abbot Kinney Boulevard / Venice Beach. The owner stopped by our table to speak with us for a moment and was so sweet!

2022-04-22 02:16:28They definitely do have a happy hour, but their rolls are small and overpriced. We got a spicy tuna and spicy salmon and also their sushi sampler (all pictured) and I don’t think it was worth the $$$ we spent. The service at the bar was great though- dedicating all three stars to the sweet woman who served us tonight. If you’re looking for quality and to pay a slightly lower price for larger amounts of sushi, just go to sugarfish 😊

2023-08-21 22:04:38Nice vibes and decor. The food was good, we got the udon, drinks, and some salmon bites. The udon was quite salty but filing. Probably shouldve gotten the sushi but we were quite hungry and food was more pricey than expected. Also they were not joking about the shochu martini being strong

2023-09-20 14:51:26A Westside staple, consistently good sushi and a variety of creative rolls. Of note the bar has tv’s overhead (you either like it or you don’t) the sushi bar is more traditional (which I recco). Outside space is nice too. Full bar & efficient staff / professional. ( ftw! ) Showing some age aesthetically… but still cutting good fish. 😎

2018-07-12 18:55:59Hama is an unpretentious Japanese restaurant located down Venice in Los Angeles. The sushi is not the best ever I eaten but it’s good, technically correct made, plus (big plus) they serve ice cold Sapporo! 😀 I would argue that Hama is the perfect spot when you like a casual, uncomplicated yet tasty bite with friends & colleagues. I mean, what more do you need sometimes?

2023-01-04 00:30:44Not authentic, overpriced and terrible food.Worst Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been in LA.Everything was insanely slow.We ordered Shiso Lemon Roll which, according to the menu, should have white fish on top. Among all the pieces, there were 2 pieces covered with actual crazy sour lemon with very little white fish… pretty sure they just replaced the fish with lemon cuz they ran out of it.Karaage looked and tasted like $5 popcorn chicken at fast food placesRamen took the longest time and only had 2 tiny pieces of BURNT Chashu in it.Asked the waitress if there was supposed to be an egg in the ramen as we read on the menu, the reply was - “I don’t know. Maybe they changed the menu or something”BruhCost was ~90$ for 2 people and we were still hungry lol

2018-06-29 04:36:34Love how there are two sections to this place, a bright indoor patio area to the right. A classic, dim-lit sushi bar to the left. Truly feels like Japan meets Venice Beach and the best of both worlds can be found here.Decently priced considering the location. Sushi rolls range from $8-$25 depending on the fish choice. An avocado roll is like $6. I got a sashimi salad, which came loaded with fresh fish. Light and filling, cost $25 after tip and tax. They have gluten free soy sauce and you can substitute upon request. My friend has a sesame allergy and another friend was gluten sensitive. They subbed the tempura for an extra piece of sashimi in the bento box, which was very kind. The owner actually came by to ask how we were and to thank us for our visit.
