One of the best hot n sour soup I had in a whole. Wish they didnt put shrimp n fish in it. Im here just for it. The beef on the tomato beef n broccoli beef was a kind of chewy. The dry stir fry beef chow fun was very good. Long wait lunch time.
Came for shrimp rice rolls, they were out. I ordered three other things to go. They said 15 min. I was waiting for 30, and then they tell me they ran out of one of the three things, meaning they didn’t even fire the order. The food is delicious, but the service is really poor

A first visit to this restaurant can be a bit misleading. There is a a large Ramen sign which may lead one to think its ramen only, when it is more of a restaurant with traditional Cantonese food plus ramen.Unless you arrive just around the time they open, be ready for a bit of a wait.The food is DELICIOUS!Jook. Arrives at the table piping hot and very flavorful. Kick up this dish with some Chinese fried donuts. There are three choices. Traditional crispy, chewy savory or slightly sweet. Can’t go wrong with any of these.Hainan chicken. Tender and juicy. Though the ginger sauce can use a bit more salt, at least for my taste.BBQ pork. Very tender and flavorful. If you order this, you have to at least also order a bowl of rice, which btw, is cooked just right. And rice is priced by the bowl, but it is a heaping bowl.Noodles, and I think we’ve tried just about every variation they offer, is always delicious. The broth has depth and flavor. Not some pitiful watery gruel. and whatever is included, meatballs, fish balls or vegis are always equally tasty. Noodles arrive at the table with the right texture. Not a fan of mushy noodles or noodles that fall apart when you bite.We’ve yet to find a dish that we don’t enjoy.The staff is very efficient and do their best. They are great with refilling tea, removing dishes. They will also warn you if something you order will take a long time. I appreciate that.This is a place I would go to again and again.

Absolutely love their honey walnut shrimp. Perfect balance of crispy and chewy, sweet and savory. Fried rice was full of wok aroma and soup wontons were super fresh. Go on a weekday during off-peak hours.
Hing Lungs dining room finally reopened! I had their wonton and dumplings braised noodles $10. It tasted different than their South San Francisco location. This location gives more noodles and uses bok choy instead of lettuce. The wontons were noticeably smaller. Surprisingly, the dumplings tasted exactly the same as the wontons. They should have used more sesame oil or add cabbage/chives to differentiate them. In terms of service, the waitstaff were busy with a lot of to-go orders. Only two other tables were occupied. My food came out fairly quickly. The chefs here are not as good as their South San Francisco location.
Wasabi chicken and pork was my favourite dish but now its the worst nightmare for me. Not sure if they put too much wasabi and salt. After the first bite of the pork, I can feel the wasabi was stuck at my throat with the salt. Thats just make me keep coughing. I thought I was going to died. I am so scared of wasabi now because of them. Not just me my other 2 friends feel headache after the 1st bite. The other food are ok but I will not recommend order this wasabi chicken at all even a wasabi lover.
Ok Ill admit last year was when I came and it sucked. Now though its much better. Tasty and tender is the best way to describe it. Quantity is good too. Come on by but get there early because it fills quickly.
They have good and tastefull Miso Ramen, it was a large and decent bowl and they served quickly, even though the place was almost at full capacity. Would go again.
The menu comprised of a variety of Cantonese dishes from dim sum, congee, clay pot and chow mein. The choices are very limited however. As the food is very good, expect a que regardless of the time or day of week. A must try if you like Homg Kong/old SF Chinatown style food.
As a visitor at Bay Area, the service is VERY BAD here. We came in around 7pm and the waitress asked how many of us. We told her 3 and she asked to wait at the door for table. We waited for 10 mins ish and the another group of customer came in and put their name on the waitlist by the door. That’s when we notice that we need to put our names there in order to be considered. We immediately asked the waitress who told us to wait there that we didn’t know we had to put our name. She was like “oh I didn’t see you guys were here. It’s like this at many places” in a very unfriendly tone. The food was okay but definitely not the service.
The soup dumplings are totally legit. The shrimp, pork, wood tree ear fungus mixture is the prime example of textural eats. My beef with the beef roll was the meat filling itself - the flat taste & the massive quantity. Striking imbalance of the pairing with the silky rice rolls, which was also slight overly steamed. Stick with the soup dumplings.
Overall the foods were good but don’t expect the service. It was crowded on weekends.

I ate at this place since the late 80’s back in the days in SF, they haven’t really changed at all. The same food and attitude, only people’s age changed. I go there just for the food, I never pay attention to the server.
Wanted to try out a new chinese food place, so we came here. Big mistake. Upon entering we noticed the place smelled like rotten meat, and you know when something doesn’t smell right.We still proceeded to be seated. Everything was sticky, the tables, chairs, menu, and even the cups the teas were served in.We were about to order when i noticed the fridges. They were absolutely covered in grime, and what looked like mold. There was also windex stored right next to their soy sauce bins ON THE FLOOR. Just the sight of the fridge killed our appetite and we left without ordering anything. If the fridge in front looked like that, I can only imagine what the kitchen looked like.I do regret not taking pictures, but hopefully you avoid this place.

Baddd.... service... waitress help themselves cross out the tips and the total balance and wroted a different tips on the recipe and charged on my credit card with out my permission. I went back to the restaurant to confront them and they wont admit it. One of the waitress keep asking me you dont tip when you eat out and gave me that rolling eye look. So Watch Out guys... Im not going back there even if they pay me....and the foods not good....and Yes I tip them but not the percentage that they expect you to tip....

Worst service & the food was not even that great. We ordered 8 dishes. They served only 4 & handed us the bill. So rude! When we told them all foods were not even all out, they then responded “there are people” 🙄 These people should be grateful for having customers keeping their doors opened.
The fish congee here really hit the spot. They have giant saiyong (fluffy egg doughnut balls coated in sugar). Its pretty popular so you may have to wait for a seat.

Really yummy food, but the service was very slow and poor.Staff was friendly enough, but when I ordered my food to go, they told me it would be 5 to 10 minutes. Twenty five minutes later, they finally brought out my very simple order of chow mein noodles with bean sprouts (no meat) and a can of soda. Pricing was pretty normal for a sit down restaurant in the area, and serving size was ample.
Arrived at 1800, chef very busy with to-go orders, have to wait for long for our dishes, if you want faster service, order cooked by deputy chef, like wonton noodle soup, roast pork/chicken/duck over rice, chef too busy with his wok.

Super slow, dirty, and literally rotten shrimp. Chefs not wearing masks. Called for take out. Was told 25 min and took more than double. Bathroom was filthy. Shrimp in shrimp rice noodle had the taste of rotten food.This was second horrible experience here. First was during Chinese new year when we pre-ordered a dish and was told they sold out when we went to pick up. How can you sell out of a dish a customer preorders?? This is a good place for standard Hong Kong/Cantonese style fast comfort food. My test for excellence is how well they make dry style beef chow fun, and this place does an average job. It would have been better if they used darker soy sauce and cooked the bean sprouts fully. My wife liked her pork liver congee and my son enjoyed his seafood fried rice with X.O. sauce. The servers were quick and efficient, but not very welcoming. Parking was free and plentiful.

I was a big fan of the original Hing Lung located in San Francisco Chinatown. It had the hands down best porridge and Chinese fried donut in the Bay Area. Despite it having poor health poor, pest problem, I kept going back. When I found out that they reopened in San Bruno, I had to go check out.I must admit, the food was the same... maybe even better. The dishes seem a bit more refined and well put together. There are even more menu options now like ramen. I wouldnt order ramen at a Chinese place, but its there. I dont seem to understand why people comment so much about the poor service. Hing Lung its a restaurant where people go in, eat and get out. The staff takes your order, brings you water or tea, then your food, and finally your bill. When you expect any more than that, expect to pay more and you end up complaining about that. Yes, MSG is present and the food taste damn good. Im sure everyone lining up to get into this place will agree. Hing Lung has been a staple in my diet for over 30 years and will continue to be so.
There are three or four ramen choices. I had the Pork Belly Ramen with Miso broth, it was not good. It was served in a bowl that was chipped in several places. The pork had no flavor to it. The hot tea that they give you right when you sit down taste like old pipes. Its very cramped and very busy. You are rushed to order and to leave. The food is not worth the thought or the wait.
My first visit, with my Hong Kong-born friend as a guide. Delicious Hong Kong-style fried rice topped with veggies and meat; a dish with large chunks of fried tofu, crunchy lightly cooked bok choy, and black mushrooms; and roast duck with rice, also with bok choy. Everything very fresh and very modestly priced, considering that we took about half our food home. My friend warned that in rush hour there is a line waiting to get in.
Very very very bad service. Do not use your credit card to pay the bill, the waitress will change your tip amount without your permission. Thats so so so terrible.

HORIBLE HORIBLE customer service!!! I had lunch with a coworker after ordering my food it arrived moments later meanwhile their food arrived literally 35 mins after with no explanation or apology. Besides the rude wait staff the restaurant had fly traps hanging through out the the restaurant in plan site. A group of employees where dinning beside me and spitting food from their mouths onto the table. GROSS!..... This is a interesting joint for sure. The food was quite good however, I shutter to think about the filthy condition it was likely prepared in.

Today, I brought my children and I was happy to have a bowl of hot porridge in the store. After registering the name, I saw that there were many people and it was very cold and windy today, so I waited in the car with my daughter, while my son waited in the store. After 55 minutes, my son called me. They said that we would be the next one, but when I entered the store, I saw that the people behind us were almost finished eating. I asked the waiter, and she said that she didnt call the number. I dont know. I said we had been waiting for an hour and five minutes., but she said that you dont have to wait, we didnt force you to wait! Immediately, I felt that their service attitude was too bad, it was fine without a word of apology and such unprofessional words, we will never patronize this store again! !
This restaurant is very good, business is coming like a cloud. There are many options for what you like to eat. The waiters were also very polite. I have introduced friends to this restaurant many times to try various kinds of food. Everyone gave it a thumbs up. I hope this restaurant will continue to do well.
The average meal is about 10-14 yuan, delicious and big. Two servings for three people is enough.

2023-11-30 22:58:29Little disappointed the pork liver used to be the signature dish for this restaurant when they were in China Town. It’s not tender as before. Congee base still good. Pork meat it’s same taste that I missed from congee. Stir fried dishes have good portion and serve it in the right temperature. Good spot for authentic Cantonese style food. It’s crowded with small seating area.

2023-10-25 19:56:51This place is one of my go-to Hong Kong Cafe that still delivers authentic hk dishes. I usually come here for their breakfast/lunch items.I ordered the Hing Lung treasures which are the egg puffs and fried doughs. They came cold and hard which was expected since they were pre-made and not stored in an oven. I took them home and heated it back up with an airfryer to wake those souls up. Then they were so much better than before. The eggpuff was pretty eggy with almost like custard sponge cake texture inside.The assorted organs congee is another classic thats often disappointing at other restaurants due to the freshness of the ingredients and how overcooked they are but not for Hing Lung. The organs were prepped properly so it didnt stink or taste funky which is the mainly reason I dont usually get it at other places. They were cooked just enough to be tender and not leave that rough feeling in the mouth. The congee was flavorful and thick. I believe they used chicken stock as the base.The pan fried noodles with honey beef is another popular Hong Kong dish. The portion of the noodle was a bit less so there was too much sauce making the noodle soggy. It was still crispy for the most part and they used the right type of egg noodle. The bell peppers were crunchy and fresh. The beef was very tender and juicy along with the sauce. Although the sauce was a bit too sweet from the honey but it was the authentic hong kong style black pepper sauce where they added Worcestershire sauce for that distinct taste.I came here around 11 and there was still a few tables left but around 11:20 people had to wait for one. Plenty of parking outside and the service is good for a Chinese restaurant. This place is the minimum standard of what a basic Hong Kong Cafe is like in HK but its hard to find another place that offers more in the bay area. Highly recommended if you just want some simple Chinese food thats more Hong Kong style.

They make it fresh when you order so youre not just getting the same congee with cooked meat just thrown in. The Chinese donuts were great. Beef chow fun was standard fare. Overall was decently priced and good food. This place gets busy so come when they open or expect to wait.

We ordered a pork liver congeeand its filled with big pieces of very fresh and soft pork liver. The rice noodles are also pretty good with very smooth and soft rice noodle and a lot of filling. They have a sign in Chinese 興隆小館 (underneath an English sign Ichi Ramen presumably left over from previous owner). On their menu they emphasize that they hold the registered trademark of 興隆小館.
