Very very nice place! Plenty of parkings available since its a big plaza. Fast service with robots bringing dishes. Cozy spacious atmosphere. So fresh seafood with beach around level. The oysters were delicious. We even didnt speak much being busy by eating all those yummy things. And dishes were decorated so beautiful. With greens, flowers, reddish spirals, etc. This Sunday dinner for 4 cost us about $200 and no regrets. Will go there again!!!

The spicy scallop hand role tasted like kimchi spice. I asked the server if this restaurant is Korean owned. She said yes. I love Korean food but not mixed with Japanese sushi. The sashimi slices were approximately 3/4” thick. Could slice it thinner for a better texture and get more slices as well. Soft shell crab roll was good aka spider roll. - Makoa, Kaikua’ana MC

Right off of Mace Blvd, I was riding back to the bay from Sacramento and I found this gem. Wonderful food and beautiful presentation, I’ll be coming back next time I come through this area. I ordered the beef udon, sweat heart roll, and garlic edemame.

We stumbled onto this wonderful sushi restaurant since we came here to eat at the Taqueria Guadalajara Grill right next door, but it was closed that day due to maintenance.We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fish, the generous portions, the friendly staff and how delicious everything we tried was. They also have this new way cool robot assistants server that follows the servers to deliver your food table side.We definitely will be back and this is now our new Davis favorite!!!

I have visited 3 times so far. I really enjoy the lion king roll any where I go. The way the dish is prepared here is different than most places Ive experienced. Lots of salmon on top and ingredients inside. Packed with flavor and covered in sauce. You cant eat it with chop sticks. I used a soup spoon. The bites were that hearty and full. They also have a cinnamon tea that is hard to stop drinking. I really enjoyed the kind service, and clean quiet setting. A must visit in Davis for sushi and more!

The owners are pretty shady to their staff (IE withhold a high percentage of tips until they feel the servers are well versed to their high standards) so I wouldnt support this sort of establishment. I would know because I was a part of this staff years ago 🤷. Theres so much better and high quality sushi in Sacramento area or in other parts of Davis. Ive tried their rolls and its nothing special. Theyre a bit over priced for what you get.

Huku is our familys favourite Japanese restaurant in Davis. We especially enjoy the delicious Bento Box lunch offerings. Highly recommend the Teriyaki Chicken and Tempura Bento Box. The youngest member of our family loves Hukus sushi, as well.The service is attentive. The atmosphere is spacious and accommodating. Plenty of parking and its close to Nugget, our favourite grocery store.

This is actually the best sushi place in Davis. The quality is up to par with other sushi places in Sac and maybe even better. But I can say it is at least 10 times better than the all-you-can-eat places in Davis. Though it is not the most traditional place, the flavors are still really good. The Dragon roll had huge pieces of unagi so it is so value!

I used to like this place. But recently there is a waitress (short hair) who is rude. I remembered last time I came myself, she put down my dishes carelessly. And she asked me if I am done when there are still food in my plates. This time I came and they cannot serve dine in, the other waiter explained nicely with me the reason. While we are talking, that waitress came by and talked to me with unpleasant attitude. Even though I still love the food here, I will never come again if this waitress is still here. I really miss the old Huku, servers are polite and always awesome experience dining here. But now….

This is my second visit to Huku, and I must say it will be my last. The ambiance and staff are pleasant, but unfortunately, the quality of the food falls well below average, especially considering the higher prices.During my first visit, I ordered Sashimi and Uni. The Sashimi was mediocre, but the Uni had a strong odor and clearly lacked freshness.On this occasion, I decided to try their Ramen with California rolls. To my disappointment, the Tempuras that came with the Ramen were already soaked in the soup, causing the fried coating to dissolve. The Chashu tasted unpleasant and seemed like it had been stored for days.In conclusion, unless you have an ample budget and are solely looking to satiate your hunger, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Racist host but great food. My girlfriend and I are a mixed couple. Today when we arrived we were told there was a 30 minute wait. Another couple arrived shortly after us and were seated in just a few minutes. Maybe they were in the wait list I thought as he proceeded to seat a second couple. I finally decided to speak to the manager after he seated a third couple who I observed getting on to the wait-list by giving their number. They left and then came back and then were seated! All while my girlfriend and I sat in the waiting area and watched. After I spoke to his manager were seated at tables that I had earlier noted were empty shortly after we arrived! If their food wasnt amazing I would never go back.I am so sad that I have to change my review from five stars to one. This place makes the best sushi in town, but after my experience today I have to change my review and tell my story.

Terrific service. They have good sushi and a wide variety of lunch and dinner combinations. They have the most caring and attentive staff, who happily do not bring out European utensils unless specifically asked.Though they are a little more pricy but worth it.

Second time at this place. They have very good COVID measures going on to make sure that people feels safe. The food was tasty and well done. That avocado bowl is a fusion dish that grab our attention. Tasty, sweet and spicy at the same time. One basically uses chips to eat it. The rolls are superb. The sashimi seems fresh and they serve big pieces. The size was a bit larger for our taste but good overall. Will definitely go back.

This place has the *best* sushi and sashimi. The fish is incredibly fresh, presentation is always gorgeous, the portions are generous, the staff is friendly and personable... Do yourself a favor and try the butterfish, it literally melts in your mouth.

Our server was slow, disorganized and forgetful. If only a couple things happened I would let it slide but at these prices and having 4 separate situations happen, I just cannot. Luckily a server from the other side came and filled in, or we would probably still be waiting on the check. The waiter that filled in while we, and two other tables, were waiting for our check - had our side caught up in less than 5 minutes.Food came out at least 10 minutes apart hot food coming first and sushi 10+ min later.. The restaurant was not busy at the time.The food and ambience are good, and with just a few refinements, could be worth the price they charge.Oddly, its a Davis location. But my vegetarian daughter was served a crab filled salad topper (a pepper stuffed with crab) thats not listed anywhere on the menu. for me it was a delish surprise, to her it was revolting.If you are vegan or vegetarian, definitely ask questions.

While visiting a friend in Davis, he took me to Huku since it was one of his go to places. I really enjoyed the bistro and enjoyed the robot server. We got there as it opened so there was no wait but was quickly filling up on a Saturday afternoon.The menu is very extensive and I cannot speak to the quality of the sushi since I dont eat seafood but my friend loved his order. I enjoyed a delicious bento box with chicken and beef.Huku was clean and the staff was friendly. This is a great spot to visit while in Davis.

Huku provides the freshest and most appetizing array of fresh sushi. They have a team of guys behind the sushi bar that never fail to greet you when you arrive, even if its just for a takeout order. Their food is delicious, clean, fresh, never over or under-seasoned, and always delivered by professional waitstaff with impeccable manners. The pricing is steep, but to get the freshest seafood in a supply chain burdened by pandemic challenges, they never disappoint. I recommend the Brenda roll, bento boxes, and California rolls for those not interested in the recently swimming. I must confess Ive only had the Ahi from the most recently caught menu but I found the searing to be almost surgical in its precision, and the insides were exquisitely mouthwatering. This is the ONLY sushi place in Davis worth visiting.

We had Sushi takeout this past Sunday for a late lunch and it was not a pleasant experience. The food did not taste fresh and it proved in the evening when we both spent most of the time in the restroom. The food went right through us. We both had an upset stomach. My friend continued to spend the next morning in the bathroom and it was not pretty. We spent $100 and it was definitely not worth it. We called but it didnt matter. Never coming back here, thats for sure.

It was also super delicious and VERY reasonably priced ($12-15 per roll, and each roll was huge). The portions are ginormous - three of us could barely finish 3 rolls and 1 appetizer. We ordered the DSF (super unique and delicious, little bit hard to eat without dirtying fingers!), Lion King (SO GOOD), Temptation, and Thunder. This is absolutely my go-to sushi spot in Davis.

I went there during my 3 days visit to Davis.The staffs are very friendly and welcoming.The food very good, I took a order of Yaki Unagi sushi $5.99 and a salmon shioyaki lunch $13.95 and everything was perfect. Until I get the bill and was charge for diner salmon set instead of lunch when it was nearly 13:00 (1:00pm) and not yet 14:30(2:30pm).The waitress apologized and called the manager to fix it. The manager was a bit rude no apology but she fix to a total of 21.06. Plus I gave a $3 tip to my waitress. I will come again but will careful see what they charge me on the bill 😊🤓

3.5/5. Huku is like that weird uncle or cousin that has the hip new gadgets at Christmas but is not really that awesome or memorable. Although it has a shiny exterior and cool combinations, the sushi here is pretty average.Ive came for dinner and lunch. At dinner I used a $20 off $50 coupon. I tried the Rock N Roll and tuna tataki salad. My friend had some deep fried role and chicken Katsu. The rock n roll tried to be cool by mixing different fish and having a spicy mayo dipping sauce, but the flavors were generally lacking and fish quality was only ok. The tuna tataki was also rather bland, I did like the shredded beets in the salad.The lunch bento box was slightly better, with good beef teriyaki, a nice croquette, and sweet potato ball thing. The miso soup was good. The tuna however was just ok. With just ok fish and forgettable combinations, this place is just ok and theres lots of better options in Davis.
