We have been to Hummus Bar & Grill several times, and I think the food here is pretty good. Sometimes it is a hit-or-a-miss, and this is something you need to be aware of when going here. You could either have a wonderful meal (as many reviews show) or you might end up disappointed with some of the dishes you order.I have had quite a few different menu items here, and here are my thoughts: the hummus here is amazing. I have absolutely no complaints, and if you get the hummus with beef or mushrooms it’s even more amazing! This is a must when visiting. They bring out a massive pita bread - soft, warm, crunchy on the edges and slightly chewy in the middle - and you could have 10 of these, they’re addicting. Another dish that is out-of-this-world is the Earthy Baladi Eggplant - I don’t like eggplant at all (never would willingly order it), but the way they prepare this is just amazing. It doesn’t taste like eggplant at all, and the sweet flavor is just awesome. This is another thing you should definitely order. There are many more things I could recommend, but I generally have found the appetizers, specialty plates and salads to be consistently better than other things on the menu. Rice is great (es expected).Their Liver & Onions is really good if you enjoy this type of dish (I have family who always gets this and they say it’s really good - better than most places), and most beef dishes are really good as well. They know how to cook beef here!! I haven’t tried other meats like their lamb and Merguez sausages yet, so I can’t comment on them (though I’d assume they would be good as well based off other reviews), but the chicken is less-than-spectacular in my opinion. For instance, I recently got the chicken shawarma, and it was very bland, dry, and just tasted like a bunch of shredded chicken with little spice on a plate. I can’t recommend this dish - definitely get something else other than the chicken shawarma. There could be better chicken dishes, but I’ve just stuck with beef and had a much better time.All in all, this is still a solid place. The chicken dishes might not be the best (and it’s entirely possible I’ve just had them on off-days and they’re not representative of what the restaurant normally cooks), but many other things on the menu make up for it - I definitely would say Hummus Bar & Grill is worth going to, especially if you’re craving Israeli food/Mediterranean food. I will continue to visit and I will continue to revise my review as I try more things!

I’m always on the lookout for incredible hummus and shawarma. And did I find BOTH here at Hummus Bar & Grill. I had the shawarma hummus plate and it was EXACTLY what I was craving. Creamy fresh hummus with tasty chicken shawarma on top. I am in heaven. The restaurant is also incredibly clean with a kind and attentive staff. The pita bread was bigger than my plate and so delicious. I enjoyed the complimentary pickles and cabbage salad served when I first sat town. I also found it to be reasonably priced for all that I received. A visit to Hummus Bar & Grill will not disappoint.

The food was amazing!!! Such a great experience of flavors and yumminess. I went with my sister and we shared a skewer plate with sides and an order of hummus. We had plenty to eat and went home with leftovers. If youre in the area I definitely recommend it and I will surely return!

The service is rude, makes you feel uncomfortable, the guy has an attitude .And Im a girl, so I dont get it, why a male give me an attitude in a serving position when I just placed 2 orders . And I come back to this place as a regular client. He dont smile, makes me feel Im doing him a favor for being a client, doesnt makes me feel good about purchasing from the place. Just 🤮. The falafel was also really good and fresh. Ive never had a falafel taste as clean and fresh as that one. They complimentary sour veggies, olives, and freshly done pita bread. If youre vegetarian/vegan this is a great place because there are a lot of options. I do not recommend the schnitzel because it was nothing out of the ordinary. Their menu is a bit on the pricier side but it is well worth it due to their extremely large portions.

As is in the name, the hummus here is absolutely amazing. Ive had the beef and mushroom hummus, thats what keeps me coming here. All the other dishes, middle eastern style, are very good but nothing that stands out too much. Unlimited free pita bread is phenomenal as well.

The Hummus Bar & Grill is the best Mediterranean restaurant in the valley! I’ve been coming here for five years now and the food is always SO amazing and consistent. The atmosphere is also amazing, very relaxing with good music playing and friendly servers. The Hummus with mushrooms is to die for, and the filet skewers are so tender! I love all of their food but those are two of my favorites. The beet salad (pictured below) is also incredible! They have a kids menu, salads, fish, sliders and a ton of other options! Highly recommend!

Stopped here on a whim after seeing what was open on my way home from LAX. My goodness!!! I’m an extremely picky eater and the food was beyond anything I could have hoped for. So good that I even ordered takeout for tomorrow on my way out. Amir, our server was wonderful and answered all of my many questions with a smile. He made the experience beyond great. I couldn’t be more grateful to have stopped here and I’ll most definitely be back for more. Hint hint.. their specialty plates rock!!

Food here is delicious, no doubt about it. Their mushroom and pine nut hummus are so good. Bread always comes out fresh. Meats are tender. I definitely would give the food 5 stars.The reason I docked a star is because of service. We come to Hummus Bar pretty regularly and every time we come, we have to flag down a waiter because no one comes to check in on us once we place our food order. I completely understand that restaurants are short staffed due to covid but it doesnt make for a good dining experience when you only see your waiter 2 times, once to welcome you and once to take your order. Its frustrating when youre waiting on refills on your drink and more bread for your hummus for more than 15 mins.

Very tasty food, especially the hummus and warm laffa bread! Recently since COVID I feel like their quality of food has went down. The veggies were cold when they got to the table. The Romanian kebab is my favorite, very flavorful with a lot of different fresh ingredients. The filet skewer was not cooked enough or had enough flavor. Hope they will open indoor dining again and check quality of the food when it leaves the kitchen!

One of my most loved spots to eat in Los Angeles opened another area in Valley! There is something about this Israeli quick easygoing that is so consoling each time I eat it.All that I have requested has tasted stunning. Possibly begin with a plate of chicken schwarma then pick your sides. You can pick the pita sandwich choice where you can pick your fillings including hummus. Youll see that everything looks crisp with their splendid hues.My top choices and absolute necessities is the laffa bread, eggplant, and French fries. Idk this one was tough cus I have been wanting to come here for so long but too bad I left being disappointed. The unlimited salads were very mediocre at best the only thing above average was the hummus. Good place to go if you just want hummus. Truly astonishing. I felt like i was back in Israel! The aryas were better than the ones I had at 12 Chairs in NYC. The laffa falafel was so flavorful and full of crunchy slaw and crisp isareli salad. The hummus was incredible. Drove from Marina Del Rey to have lunch here after reading the reviews and LA Eater, man totally worth it and will be back. The resturant is staffed with israelis and most patron speak hebrew. I felt like I was at a cafe in Tel Aviv the vibe was authentic! try it for yourself.

We made our reservation about two hours before we wanted to go there. When we arrived, there werent too many tables full, and we thought thats great for a Friday night, and we figured because of the rain that evening people might have canceled last minute. To my surprise though, the service was horrible. We ordered our food. It came pretty quickly which was good. We asked for extra tahini sauce and extra pita bread for our meal and the waitress said she will be right back with it. She never returned. She never came to check on us, she or no one else came to ask if we needed more drinks, or napkins or anything.I decided to ask for the manager since I just wanted him to be aware of the situation. He didnt even care. He said okay you know that I am short staffed, I have too many tables and no help and if she didnt come to you then it is what it is at this point. I was floored I asked for my check and a box to take the rest of the food home. He sent over another waiter and he said the manager said he will give you a free dessert because you were inconvenienced. I told him no thank you I just wanted the to go boxes (which I was waiting for already for about 15 mins) and the check so I could just pay and leave.I have frequented this restaurant many times before in the past, this was by far the WORST service ALL AROUND that I have encountered. I will not go back there again.The management needs customer service training asap. This is why his crew was horrible as well.

The food here is generally not cheap, and at times the service can be a little spotty. That said, the quality is far and away the best Ive ever had as far as hummus. Even the meat and other dishes are fresh, well-seasoned, and tasteful. Pita bread is served for free along with the hummus, and you can always request more. One time the pita was cold, but every other time is has been freshly baked and still hot.My personal favorite is the hummus with mushrooms and the chicken skewers, but its hard to go wrong here. As far as sides go, the mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables are also worth a nod.

First off. The staff was excellent. This place had one of the best service around. The servers were very fast and attentive with the side dishes and bread and gave great recommendations. I got the hummus and the ribeye kabab. Was delicious and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fresh pita bread they kept brining out was addictive with their original hummus. The place is well laid out and seating is plentiful. Sitting at the bar was a great experience as well since you have the servers right in front of you making sure everything is alright. The parking lot is on the small side so if you get here during a lunch rush it might be a little hard to get parking near by. Otherwise shouldnt be an issue. I would definitely recommend and will be going back

Nice place for Mediterranean food, especially now during the pandemic as there is plenty of outdoor seating. The atmosphere is nice, with string lighting surrounding the patio. The wait staff was friendly and quick, even though they were busy when I visited.I wasnt really in the mood for Mediterranean food that night so I was glad to see they had hamburger sliders on the menu. I went ahead and ordered those. They were above average, ggggg-seasoned and served at the perfect temperature. I certainly enjoyed them, but Im sure the sliders arent exactly their signature dish, lol.I would definitely check it out again. Nice place!

Whenever im in the area i always stop for launch or dinner at this restaurant! They have a greateat selection and middle eastern food, their hummus is delicious and also great beer selection!I recommend to try their shawarma for main dish and their malabi for desert!They have crazy selection of salads and they have an option where they bring out like 10-15 different salads at once for merely 10-15 dollars, its aspacialy worth it if two people order it with a main courseThey also do private events and catering.

I think the food to price ratio is average - one benefit is the portions are huge so you can easily split stuff. The hummus is OK but not the best I’ve had. There are many Israeli restaurants in the neighborhood, and this is a good one, but I’ve tried better. Service is ok, but the waiters I get always seem really aloof. I appreciate the large bread and pickles. Everything is filling.

My first time here at the end of January. Everything was just wonderful. Our waiter was fun and accommodating (wish I remembered his name). It was a crazy, busy Saturday night. Noisy, friendly, fun and Ive never seen so much food; it all tasted awesome. Im a picky foodie, so Im not impressed easily. I lived in LA for 40 years and am now in Oregon. I visit LA often and cant wait for my next visit so I can come back and bring more family and friends. Next visit in April; Im salivating already! :-)

Food is really good, portions are smaller but not too small. We went there on a Saturday afternoon, it was okay crowded. We had no difficulty in finding parking, everyone was happy with food. Liked their complementary bread, it was amazing. Ask to get the bread with Zaatar, its very delicious. Hummus was pretty tasty and fresh.

Not sure how this place got positive reviews. I think all positive reviews were posted by their employees or friends. Just to order a food had to wait for 30 minutes. No one shows any respect. Tables were not clean. Waiters carry the breads touching their clothes and with their hands. No one appeared clean and didn’t think even cooks wear gloves. Pricey for worst service and gross food.

Last time me and my buddy came here and had beef skewers. They were outstanding. Today though we had lamb skewers and they were flavorless and very hard to chew even though they were medium. To add insult to injury they served us burnt zatar bread... Twice!!! Even the waitress said it was burnt. Dont know what has changed this time. It Left us distraught. Authentic Israeli food at its best. Not a modern twist, nor Israeli inspired, but rather the original thing!The food was delicious and the service immaculate. The entire service staff was extremely attentive, and if I ever needed anything all I needed to do was look up. The flatbed pita (laffa) was fresh and offered a great combination of flakiness and fluffiness. When I ran out, a new one was delivered without me asking. Did I mention the great service?The item prices are a bit high, but there portions are generous and can be easily shared by 2 people, resulting in a delicious and inexpensive meal. Considering the endless refills on the salads and pita, this is a great value.The restaurant is a great spot for single dinners, couples, and families alike. Highly recommended!!

Its hard to spot with trees and umbrellas camouflaging the entrance.This is a large neighborhood restaurant, with seating on the unbrella and tent protected, heated-cooled patio for 50 or so, plus the dog of your choice. Inside there are two dining rooms.Our server, Eli is knowledgeable, friendly, and asked a question I had never been asked before. What language do you wish for service? We chose English.Each table gets a set-up of pickled vegetables, olives, and Israeli spicy coleslaw. After being seated, a LP sized pita arrives from the kitchen, steaming hot. We tear servings, family style, from the community portion.Their menu offers seven varieties of hummus, twenty salads, and chicken hearts and livers. Also available are Gyros and several types of kabobs.As an appetizer, our table ordered hummus with toasted pine nuts. The presentation is bowl-shaped, with the center filled with toasted pine nuts. The serving, large enough for six, is smooth, mildly spiced, and delicious. And, of course, there is the unlimited, freshly baked pita. (Our table of four enjoyed two.)There are many vegetarian/vegan items on the menu. I ordered the Israeli salad. Went here first time and also first time to have this type of cuisine. Kinda like Korean BBQ where they bring out a bunch of small plates: beets, hummus, chopped liver, eggplant, pickles, olives so you just break a piece of bread and eat with. We ate so much of this so by the time to order the main dish we were stuffed. Order the liver & onion plate and they were delicious but a bit too sweet for my taste.

This place has the best Israeli food in LA. Absolutely amazing and always tons of it. Their hummus is delic and the bread they give you with it is what I keep going back for. Make sure to check the schedule for Jewish holidays as this place is run by them and they sometimes close or follow certain traditions like no bread during the Passover. Something I found out the hard way.

This place has some of the finest Middle Eastern food on Ventura Blvd! The beef and hummus plate is amazing. The shawarma is of high quality as well. They even have fish shawarma which was fantastic! I love the family style setting that they have and the staff are really friendly. I highly recommend this place for family dinners, birthdays and even if you want to go out for a bite with a friend. The food was amazing and so delicious and the guys serving us as was wonderfull. When we walked into the restaurant however, almost all customers sitting there was staring at us as if we came from out of space because we are BLACK. My 11 end 13 years old kids never felt uncomfortable as they did that day. Best hummus in the Valley, hands down.The pickles and olives are also a big hit in our household. Red cabbage salad isnt to be missed either. Kabobs are a perfect fit with the laffa. My family and I really love this place. The best falafel and hummus that Ive had. The mushroom hummus comes with caramelized onions and mushrooms and is one of the best things to exist. The falafel has the perfect consistency, light and crispy on the outside. Were vegan so theres a bunch of vegan options including the barbarian mushroom plate which is a delicious assortment of mushrooms and asparagus. They provide complimentary bread and pickles. This is anything but a laid back shopping center place - the only thing valley mall about it is that there blissfully IS free parking. It is lively (all the staff is Israeli so how could it not be?), the food ranges from extraordinary to exquisite; the place appears to be at least a double store front with two-story ceiling and full bar right in the middle, and outdoor seating. The desserts alone are worth a trip, let alone the huge menu with the best sweetbreads Ive ever eaten that includes fine French restaurants.

Indoor dining is not available at this time due to covid but they have made an outdoor oasis with cafe lights and a legitimate commercial grade huge tent. Bathrooms are available to customers during this time too. Parking is also still available- above ground is only for 30 minute parking, below in the garage is for regular customer parking (where you want to park if you’re dining in).Liquor is served here, not sure if it’s only beer and wine or a full bar, I’m under the impression it’s only beer and wine- again if you’re concerned about anything it’s a good idea to call and confirm! Also laker games are usually on, any major sports game is available. There are other locations but I believe this is the original one that was opened in 2008. I’ve been coming here since 2008 and they’ve been consistent in quality and service. It’s family style or individual style. Great for solo, dates, big groups, and family friendly. They take reservations, and during this covid time since seating has been reduced, it may be a good idea to make a reservation. Also wearing a mask is mandatory, except for eating.

Seriously why cant you guys get your act together? I thought to myself, maybe Im the only one theyre rude to, but there is a consistent trend of good food, bad service looking through the comments. My wife and i order take out typically (she likes the liver and onions), but we have dined in both together and with friends. Ive been getting takeout at least the last 3 years here every couple months or so. Literally can not think of a time when i didnt feel like the person taking my order over phone or in person was annoyed with me for giving them more work to do. I get it, youre busy, you dont need my business.I always dread ordering food from here but nevertheless forget about how terrible the service is once my stomach is filled. This might be the most positive thing i have to say.Anyways, im still hungry, but i will not be eating at Hummus Bar & Grill tonight.One last comment to management: This is only an assumption, but staff that behaves like this consistently either feels invincible in their job security or like theres no risk to losing their job because they can always apply at Mcdonalds and be just as well off. Have them call in once or twice this month during dinner hours and ask them how they were treated and if your employee met their expectations.Once again, like i said the food was good, but i have higher standards when it comes to customer service and yesterday was just one of too many bad experiences at your restaurant. The all you can eat salad option is amazing. Its not your normal salad in the western sense but its more like a bunch of small plates that are all refillable and comes with lots of unlimited bread. My favorite is definitely a chicken liver spread, Its a rich and creamy and meaty and theres none of that irony taste its usually associated with the liver.

You know I pick up customers food all the time here for the past year and since the first time I came in mainly the girls have horrible attitudes they stand there and pretend to be busy and leave me standing there and dont even greet me or use any reasonable customer service whatsoever. Contacted them and spoke with the manager, which was unapologetic and offered no compensatory solution (like a replacement of the order) to correct their mistake, except that I should deal with Postmates directdly and that there was nothing she (they) can do. Wow! What kind of manager that represents your brand, Hummus Bar, says such a thing to a customer? I made it a point to tell her I was dissatisfied with her answer after calling back a second time and only after I threatened to leave a bad review (which I am anyway), she began to back peddle. I informed her I didnt call for compensation of any kind, but to inform her that her attitude and customer service skills needed serious improvement.How sad this restaurants service and consistency has diminished over the years, which me and my family have been customers for some time now.

The large bowl of Baba Ghanouj was a good size at a reasonable price with hot fresh baked flat bread right out of the oven that you can watch them bake. Modern upbeat atmosphere.

Grear service. We were sitted and 2 minutes later we are already eating a warm laffa bread with salsa and pickels! The fillet skewers were perfect! So juicy and full of flavor.
