Ive been yet again swindled by Mr Ike. Ive ordered here three times and all three times its been a bad experience. The first time I ordered a turkey and bacon sandwich. They charged $2 extra for the bacon which Im okay with provided I get bacon..... They put vegan fake bacon on... I placed this order through Grubhub so I wrote it off as a mistake (It did not specify that it was vegan bacon on Grubhub and I assumed it would be real bacon). The second time they smothered it in mayo despite me specifying no mayo, but again it was through Grubhub so I excused the mistake. However, I went to the store and ordered in person today to avoid Ikes wrath for Grubhub orders. It turns out I was mistaken. These issues werent because of problems with Grubhub ordering, Ike just spends too much time loving and not enough time sandwiching. I ordered a salami and cheddar sandwich. What I got was an abomination to my small fraction of Italian heritage. The salami was NOT salami. Im pretty sure its some weird vegan substance that was merely impersonating my salami. The cheddar was nowhere to be found, I can only imagine it fled the scene of the crime that was this sandwich. Even the vegan salami was sparsely populated amongst the forest of lettuce that I can only imagine was shot onto my sandwich by a lettuce cannon. Not only was lettuce the dominating species inside my sandwich but it also invaded the ENTIRE SANDWICH WRAPPER. There was lettuce everywhere which generally isnt an issue because I like lettuce, but on this particular day the lettuce bazooka mustve missed the sandwich and landed its shot in my wrapper because 70% of the lettuce was in the wrapper. I get that some people would like vegan salami and bacon, and Im happy they offer that. However, asking for a salami sandwich should entail real salami unless someone specifies that they want vegan salami. Ive included pictures of the sandwich as well as the salami. Excuse the blurry photo my hands were trembling in fear of this sad looking monstrosity.

Very disappointed. First Ike’s visit. The service was great. The sandwich was not. You cannot neglect one of the two main parts of a sandwich. The meat, the filling and sauce were great. The Dutch crunch was neither Dutch nor crunch, and it was frozen inside.

Ikes has wonderful sandwich choices especially if you are looking for vegetarian, vegan options. Their service is wonderful, and my husband eats there regularly. Hes always looking for good healthy vegetarian options and Ikes is his number one go to.

Friendly staff! One gentleman pretended to answer my allergy questions but he wasn’t honest about not understanding English - so he answered incorrectly. The other showed me Ike’s allergy card and answered all my questions. Glad to support businesses with vegan options. FYI the Meatless Mike meatballs are spicy like Italian sausages to those who are pepper-sensitive. Had to give it away to someone in my household. Also the sodium content is SUPER-HIGH - 1850 mg!! I’m adding my own vegan burger and eating half today and half tomorrow to just to balance it all out. Overall good flavor, yet a bit pricey for a sandwich.

If you have a love for sandwiches, then ikes (any ikes, they are all equally awesome!) is place for you. They vegan, vegetarian and omnivore options to suit any taste. Our gotos are the Mad Bum, Paul Reubens and Steph Curry. We ALWAYS go for their Dutch Crunch bread and dont forget to ask for red onions if youre like me

This place has the BEST variety of tasty sandwiches! I love trying new sandwiches there and am never disappointed with the taste or price. They definitely take a little while to make the sandwiches but trust me, they are worth the wait. The price is good for what you get and my personal favorite sandwich is the Floribunda on French bread. Enjoy!

My favorite sandwich is the Floribuna, a Burlingame exclusive! Orders always take a bit longer than I expect, but Im always super happy to have freshly made flavor upon first bite. I might ask for half dirty sauce on my sandwich next time though, since it can be pretty garlicky and salty.

I have to quote a review from a week ago I just read Walked in there just now to order three sandwiches and was told they had just gotten a large order to go and they werent serving any other customers. Never seen that before from any restaurant.This was my EXACT experience today. The hours on the door state 10 AM to 8 PM but the guy at the door said only door dash or ubereats orders are allowed - this is very disgusting marketing behavior for a retail establishment. If you do not want to serve the public then become a door dash kitchen it seems that is what you want your establishment to be. I only walked in to see if I could find a vegan offering to split with my spouse but apparently this store doesnt want to take peoples money because they are, as the gentleman from a 12/10/22 said very accurately not serving walk in customers. I have been to Ikes before and never in my life have I experienced rejection to make a purchase or even look at the menu due to under staffing. I would suggest the business owner sell this location to a The Sanwhich Spot or to a Togos, at least they would give me and apparently MANY other customers the time of day.I cannot be clear enough please look elsewhere as you will only get turned away unless you order through DoorDash!-PS the owner is unaplogetic about this, refer to the previous review from 12/10/22 for a citation of behaviour.

Super annoyed… I went to the Burlingame location. First of all the guy who was trying to listen to my order could barely speak English and was not listening to my words, so I asked for someone else to take my order. The guy who actually new how to speak English took my order. Then when I got it it was the wrong sandwich. Which tells me that no one is doing their job right?! And I paid $12 for a sandwich that wasn’t even what I ordered!! Who hired these people??

Really tasty sandwiches but always super super slow. I’d recommend calling in a half an hour ahead. I’ve had to stand there for 20-30 minutes before waiting for a sandwich and it’s not even a lunch rush. Management needs to do better training. There’s usually three people working and they’re all kind of overlapping each others work and asking each other‘s questions and how to do this and how to do that. No one ever really seems confident and they don’t understand a simple assembly line.

This place has no respect to people with allergies! We selected no cheese option in the order because my son has a severe dairy allergy. Then, we got a sandwich with cheese. I realized it after some portion of it was eaten and now very worried that about my sons situation! Never ever order again from this place. I will be suing this place if anything happens to my son.

If you dont order with the app, forget coming here during lunch. 50 min wait for bread and cheese sandwich for a 5 year old. Turn off the app once in a while and let people walk in off the street. Friendly women at the register but she was on her cell phone and didn’t immediately notice when I was ready to order which I wouldn’t mind except when I went to sit down all the tables had crumbs on them so it would be good if they used their spare time to wipe them off. Delicious sandwich that was made quickly but when I ordered I asked for no lettuce and tomato but they still put it on. I just pulled the tomatoes out and ate it. The bread is so good!

I come for lunch place my order wait about 15- 20 minute no one calls me . I ask about my sandwich 9nl6bto he told they gave it away . Just upset wasted my whole lunch i only buy lunch on Fridays and decided to come here only to waste my time and not have lunch ridiculous. Save your time and money and go to 5 guys next door . You can keep your free sandwich you try to offer my time is more valuable. This place makes sandwiches, its technically fast food. My question is why it would take 25-30 minutes to wait for one? Answer: Because you value take out orders over people coming to eat at your establishment. Which leads me to another question: why even have a brick and mortar store? Last time I eat eat here. A person who physically walks into your store should be the priority.

We stopped by here just because they had outdoor seating and we had one of our dogs with us. Im so glad we did! The Jaymee Sirewich is AMAZING. I got it on a whim, since it looked different than anything Id normally try. All 4 of us were really impressed. The other sandwich (cheese steak) was alright, but I thought it could have used some more flavor. I cant wait to try new sandwiches from here. They have a great selection to choose from.

Food is good but go to another chain location. The service at this one is terrible. Practically half my visits to this location end up with the staff not calling out my order when it is ready and sitting it in its bag behind the counter. Ill have to eventually ask how my order is coming along and theyll then tell me that it was ready several moments ago, apparently. This has happened multiple times to my coworkers as well.

Little hard to find parking at this location but thats the case with most of downtown Burlingame. Great food wish they had more options for sides. For example you can put mozzarella sticks or onion rings on your sandwich but cant get them as a side and I really dont understand Why not as a side? Its not like they dont have them or arent making them already....But anyways back to the sandwichs which are really good, nice portion size, and very filling. The sandwiches are a tad on the pricier side of things thus only 4 out of 5 stars and this location needs a bit more seating.

I placed an order for delivery using the Ikes iPhone app. The store manager called me and told me that theyre out of Gluten Free bread, and Im gluten free so thats a requirement for me. However, the store manager claimed that there was nothing she could do on her and, and I do not have the ability to cancel the order on my end. So now Im out the money with seemingly no recourse. Dont wind up in my situation!

Terrible service but great food. The service here is downright awful, the employees are too preoccupied with everything other than making orders. You can end up waiting 15 minutes for your sandwich even if you are the only person in the store... the only reason Im giving two stars is because the sandwiches prove to be okay. Im thankful that this sandwich chain has vegetarian options which are more than vegetables on bread. I know not all vegetarians like meat substitutes, but its hard to get decent protein on a sandwich without them. The available meat substitutes vary a bit from one Ikes shop to the next. This one in Burlingame has vegan meatballs, veggie bacon, vegan chicken and vegan turkey slices.Some of my favorites are the Peewee (vegan reuben), Pilgrim (vegan turkey slices, cranberry sauce and Sriracha), the Panther (vegan chicken and red pesto) and the Handsome Owl (vegan chicken with teriyaki and wasabi mayo. Their Dutch crunch roll goes perfectly with any of these.
