Twelvemonth
330 Lorton Ave, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
This fine dining vegetarian restaurant is the newest tenant in this space. The restaurant did a full renovation of the space and spent a ton of money. But in my opinion, this place missed the mark. The problem is a space used to support a small Craft brewery. The brewery worked in that location but the place seems cavernous with the new restaurant. I am not vegetarian but eat vegetables more often than meat. To me however, the food was just OK. Everything in this restaurant is clean and new but so far it has missed the mark as a go-to option.
Ikes Love & Sandwiches
1400 Howard Ave, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
Ive been yet again swindled by Mr Ike. Ive ordered here three times and all three times its been a bad experience. The first time I ordered a turkey and bacon sandwich. They charged $2 extra for the bacon which Im okay with provided I get bacon..... They put vegan fake bacon on... I placed this order through Grubhub so I wrote it off as a mistake (It did not specify that it was vegan bacon on Grubhub and I assumed it would be real bacon). The second time they smothered it in mayo despite me specifying no mayo, but again it was through Grubhub so I excused the mistake. However, I went to the store and ordered in person today to avoid Ikes wrath for Grubhub orders. It turns out I was mistaken. These issues werent because of problems with Grubhub ordering, Ike just spends too much time loving and not enough time sandwiching. I ordered a salami and cheddar sandwich. What I got was an abomination to my small fraction of Italian heritage. The salami was NOT salami. Im pretty sure its some weird vegan substance that was merely impersonating my salami. The cheddar was nowhere to be found, I can only imagine it fled the scene of the crime that was this sandwich. Even the vegan salami was sparsely populated amongst the forest of lettuce that I can only imagine was shot onto my sandwich by a lettuce cannon. Not only was lettuce the dominating species inside my sandwich but it also invaded the ENTIRE SANDWICH WRAPPER. There was lettuce everywhere which generally isnt an issue because I like lettuce, but on this particular day the lettuce bazooka mustve missed the sandwich and landed its shot in my wrapper because 70% of the lettuce was in the wrapper. I get that some people would like vegan salami and bacon, and Im happy they offer that. However, asking for a salami sandwich should entail real salami unless someone specifies that they want vegan salami. Ive included pictures of the sandwich as well as the salami. Excuse the blurry photo my hands were trembling in fear of this sad looking monstrosity.

Curry Hyuga
1204 Broadway, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
Ordered the vegetarian curry and the corn soup. Came in a big plate with pumpkin, bell peppers, egg plants, pickled peppers, potato salad and rice. Curry was tasty and the vegetables were excellent. I think they deep-fried them. The corn soup was very good. Its like corn puree with bits of corn in the bottom. You can also taste a hint of butter. We went in as it opened the doors. By time we sat down, the place was packed. Its not a big restaurant. No reservations but can be put on a wait list. Our waiter was kinda new and had a language barrier. I asked him a few times that I needed a fork and he didnt have a clue until i showed him a fork. Other than that, you should give this place a try. Just go early and you will get a table right away.
Gigis Cafe
111 Anza Blvd, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
I can't speak of Gigi's Cafe in store experience, but ill share a story to hopefully educate the owner.Delivery shoppers/drivers who deliver groceries and shop for you are service workers. There's a difference between a shopper/delivery and delivery drivers. Their pay depends on tips as we have to pay for gas, maintenance etc, delivery charge is not a tip. We usually expect the most tips from people who work on service industry, and should know that tipping is what keeps us afloat. Please, next time you tip $2.5 on a $50 order think about how your waiters would feel if you tipped them 5% during a pandemic. This is not a one-time instance either, please do better and make sure you treat service workers with respect including your own workers. I pointed out to you in store that your tipping is insulting especially since your income also depends on tips, and instead you took the -$2.50 tip and left me with a 1-star review.Hopefully you'll remember this review next time you have someone bring your groceries to your restaurant.

Update (5/12/2024):This has become a frequent weekend lunch spot for my family, and we have enjoyed the food and service here for the past year. However, my experience at the restaurant today prompted me to update this review.I brought my mom here for lunch on mothers day. We arrived at the restaurant at 12:15pm, found a table, and placed an order using the online ordering system by scanning the QR code at the table, like usual. The orders were placed at 12:20-12:23pm. We heard the usual ding from the ordering system, and normally the food comes out very quickly. Not today, we waited for ~15 minutes before I headed to the counter to ask about the order. Mind you the restaurant is practically empty. The staff told me that their wifi is down and theyre unable to receive the order, and proceed to ask me to tell them the custom order that I put in so they can make it right then. We placed 2 custom bowl order, so this is a difficult task. Luckily they were able to find our order half way through my first custom bowl order and was able to complete it. The food is great as usual. The restaurant need to handle this situation better.- The staff only came out to collect the QR code printout from the table after I tell them they probably should do that.- The staff at the counter didnt offer much to rectify the situation other than a sorry about that.- We sat at a table in a practically empty restaurant for 15 mins, and the staff didnt come to check on us. It was me who finds out our order didnt get in.Original:Best Poke in the bay area I've tried so far. Get the Yuzu Hamachi.

Wow! I love this place! I finally got a chance to go here since they are not open everyday and close at 4. I almost missed them but was able to pick it up right at closing since I called in letting them know my eta. They were so kind and wonderful people! Then I tried the food. Now, I have tried a lot of raw vegan places and Im vegan and before, I had wanted to be raw vegan. Raw vegan places can be definitely hit or miss. I never really liked Cafe Gratitude but this place?! WOW!!! EVERYTHING I tasted was amazing!!!! I had yummy corn chips, amazing bean hummus, great guacamole, the yummy salmon nori wraps, the delicious cucumber soup, the tasty and addicting sunflower power salad, the incredible raspberry cheesecake and delightful chocolate chip cookies. I cant wait to go back again! The food is fresh, tasty and left me feeling GREAT! Definitely high vibes eating. Im all for having all sorts of vegan options to eat but honestly I have been a little tired of the junkfood vegan places popping up because although I want to support, sometimes I dont feel so great after I eat there. But this place, I feel great, eat healthy, support local and support women-owned! And help the animals! Im so happy to finally get to eat here and cant wait to go back! homecooked healthy and tasty vegan uncooking at its best!!!
Broadway Kebab & Gyros
1232 Broadway, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
Whoa!!! We have eaten at so many places in San Francisco, and few have impressed us. We are always hoping for a combination of excellent food, atmosphere, and service. Rarely does an establishment connect on all three. Broadway Kebab hits it out of the park on all three! The family running the show gives off old-world charm alongside excellent service. The restaurant is sparkling clean, tastefully decorated, and has a very inviting atmosphere. The food, oh the food! We ordered the chicken, beef, and lamb kebabs and were treated to sensory delight on so many levels. Beautiful presentation with vibrant color and appealing plate design. Savory and succulent meats prepared to perfection with the perfect blend of spices... so flavorful! The baklava was flaky, sweet, and utterly heavenly! The Turkish tea, with a hint of rose, reminded us of Turkish delight and warmed our souls on a cool, foggy San Francisco night. Heaven. It is rare for me to enjoy every detail of a dinner experience, especially one so affordable. Thank you, Broadway Kebab. We WILL be back!
Joy Holiday
851 Burlway Rd, Burlingame, CA 94010, United States
This spring break ~ I chose this tour group with my friends => (7 days) Highlights of the Western United States: Grand Canyon + Lake Powell + Horseshoe Bend + Antelope Canyon + Las Vegas + Los Angeles (Plan D: San Diego Tour + Sea World +Universal Studios)Let's talk about tourism first. The sightseeing locations and accommodation are both OK. The scenery is beautiful and the amusement facilities are fun. The accommodation is liveable and not dirty. There is no internet in the hotel for the first three days except for the lobby. There is internet in the room every day, and overall everything is fun~ It depends on what you think about the food. If you want high-end food, I don't recommend joining this group because you don't have enough time + only fast food restaurants in foreign tourist attractions will give you foodFor tour guides:I was very lucky to have followed a very good tour guide (Guo Lankun) in the first three and a half days. I call her Guo Ma here. From the beginning of the introduction, Guo Ma was very serious. She took turns speaking in Chinese and English without being sloppy or deliberately leaving anything out. Any information (because I am fluent in Chinese and English, so I rush to put this recommendation here), and Guo Ma takes good care of everyone in the car and will not say that she is partial to any one person. The seat planning is also very principled and will not make you feel like you are there every time. Its unfair to get on the bus from the back or the front every time. I only sat in the front, back, and middle for three and a half days. I think everyone will know what I mean by fairness. The time of getting off is also very clear, and What's even more serious is that she will use WeChat to type in the information she introduced and the things we should pay attention to, such as the meeting time, so that people who forget or didn't hear clearly will be sure that there will be no mistakes, and time control is very good. The driver and Guo Ma also cooperated very well. Guo Ma would tell us in advance how to treat the driver politely and all the drivers taboos, which made everyone in the car very happy. I am very happy to meet Guo Ma as a tour guide. I highly recommend taking her tour and I hope I can meet her again in the future.====================================Next is my tour guide for the next three days, Director Feng (I don't know his full name...). I can only say that he has no sense of time, and he will not tell you the meeting time until someone asks...otherwise Then the time was changed again... It seemed that I didnt cooperate well with the driver at all, which made me feel completely inexplicable as I was traveling with the group. I remember correctly that I asked a few questions, but I was given a perfunctory response., and then chatted with other members, which made me very unhappy and felt disrespected. It made me want to stay as far away from this tour guide as possible... So for the next three days, all I can say is... its so dangerous. I dont have much time in the car, otherwise Id go crazyDriver part:I can only describe the driver for the first three days as serious and responsible. When we arrived at the hotel, he would help everyone arrange their luggage in rows for everyone to take. The car was clean and tidy, and the driving was smooth and safe. He would not brake in an emergency and let me sit. Very guaranteed==========================================The driver for the next three days...he didnt cooperate well with the tour guide, and he didnt take good care of his own car. It was extremely messy, and then he drove as he pleased whether he wanted to pass through the tourist area or not~ (It seemed that he didnt feel comfortable taking the car with him. (I haven't been there yet). When driving, I like to have to wipe my car in an emergency, at least 10 times on average. I often have to help each other with bags to prevent things from flying out.As for cars:I don't know why the car is so different. In the first three days, it was obviously a new car, and in the next three days, it was obviously an old car. But what! Forget about the old car... According to me, the toilet should be It was unusable (because it was locked with a lock and the headphone cord was tangled). The air conditioner was broken on the first day, and the glass was cracked the next morning (it was not broken yet). Then the driver and the tour guide were very angry. Calmly... When we drove on the highway, we watched the glass start to peel off due to the wind and vibration~ and then pieces fell off along the way... I really doubt why you dare to drive on the highway like this .....Arent you afraid of breaking other peoples cars? Just because you are a big car? Then what~ We went down to play at 9 oclock in the morning and came back at 5 oclock. The air conditioner was repaired, but the glass continued to be broken... Although the tour bus has two layers of glass, why not repair the glass? Or change the car? We used this in the next three and a half days and broke one layer of glass (returned two pieces) + no toilet + the driver's skills are very poor. Next time When I arrived in San Francisco...the day I changed cars, I was thinking...whether I could get home safely...it was such a terrifying experience. All the above made me see the difference between heaven and hell. At the beginning, I didnt know that this group would be divided into two groups... If I knew it was this kind of group... I would rather play by myself in the next three and a half days. Thats fine, I wont join this follow-up group... Its really scary... So I have to ask the group members who have been on the tour for a long time and choose carefully~ because I dont know what kind of drivers and followers I will get. tour guide
