Definitely a go to place for me. It reminds me of home cooked food that I ate back at home. The service service is consistently good and fast. We literally ordered and the food came out a minute after we sat down. Dont forget to get your ice cream at Salt and Straw after.

Great place to grab some fresh poke. The ingredients are clean and fresh tasting. I did the create your own bowl, protein of choice was the original tuna and all the fixings offered. It was fantastic!! We sat outside since the weather was nice on a Friday(6/16/23).Definitely coming back when in town to try other stuff on the menu.

If youre craving a bowl of incredibly fresh poke, Tuna Kahuna is a great place to visit. The fish is fresh, the flavors are good, and the service at the restaurant is great. We dined at the counter and it was a lot of fun chatting with the servers and watching the bowls being created. I have yet to dine here for the Chefs Table, but if the casual dining is any indication of what is to come, I can imagine the Chefs table would be even more amazing. This is a delightful restaurant that is worth the visit.

Amazing experience for Chef’s Table! Every Friday and Saturday night, you can experience a selection of delicious elevated options at Chef’s table. Essentially, you can’t go wrong, all the fish is fresh and flavorful, and the Chefs are very friendly and the service is good. Would highly recommend making a reservation for Chefs table.

I just ate at kahuna tuna for dinner. One of the owners was there. He was extremely nice and friendly. The tuna poke and salmon and crab and shrimp. We’re all about as fresh as you can get. The salads were well seasoned and dress delicately. The vegetables were all crispy and fresh. As a San Francisco native I have very high standards when it comes to fresh seafood. Kahuna tuna did not disappoint in anyway.

Overall, my experience with Tuna Kahuna was excellent. I started off with an appetizer Cured Egg & Ikura Over Rice. The ikura was fresh and the cured egg pair well to blend flavor with the kuhuna rice. For the entrée, I ordered the Spicy Chili Garlic Bowl. The hamachi and tuna complimented each other and the greens and rice helped balance the meal and tasted great! All of my food was fresh and served quickly. Came here on a spontaneous Friday night and it was packed indoors and outdoors. We found a two-seater outside and immediately sat down. My husband went inside to place the order and shared that we were sitting outside so they’d know. This spot usually sells poke during the weekdays but has a special chef’s table only on Fridays and Saturdays! We opted in for their specials (of course) and thoroughly enjoyed all four dishes. We had the:- Kahuna surfboard: this came with negitoro, uni, caviar, ikura, foie gras, and toasted milk bread. One of my favorite dishes! Very fresh, tasty, and aesthetically pleasing ☺️- Seared Hokkaido scallops: this was topped with caviar truffle… sooo fresh and flavorful in every bite!- Duck sashimi: the dashi broth was flavorful and not too salty. It was perfectly flavored and has a very soft texture when biting into it.- Uni carbonara: also loved this dish with the cured egg on top. Had a kick of spicy which I didn’t expect but loved. My second favorite dish if I had to choose.Overall, presentation, taste, service was impeccable! Definitely coming back :) also very friendly servers and owners! Next time we want the bar seating to spend more quality time with the owners and chefs :)

This is definitely one of the best poke I’ve had in the Bay Area! I ordered the yuzu salmon today. Despite how simple the dish looks, it’s full of wonderful flavors and textures. The Korean daikon on the side is interesting and unique.

Delicious poke and rice. I love that they use truffle oil in their seasoning, and offer hamachi poke! Though flavorful, the seasonings that they so liberally pour over everything can become too overwhelming over time... next time Im going to try to ask for less sauce if possible. But definitely returning for more!

The fish is super fresh, light and filling. You can tell the owner really cares about his food. Coming from working in the usual Poke spots you see everywhere, he wanted to serve Poke right and he does. The owner(s) love building relationship and making sure you get the right kind of dish, something all small business should aspire. Must try and great spot to hang out.Need to try their sushi boxes next time.

Placed an order for Tuna Kahuna through Chownow, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing.I had ordered a large bowl with an additional protein, which was supposed to be blue crab. However, when my order arrived, the blue crab was missing.To make matters worse, when I called the restaurant to address the issue, the staff(female staff) I spoke with was rude mean and unhelpful. They offered a mere $4 refund as compensation, which I found disrespectful given the magnitude of the error and the poor customer service I received.

I had a make-your-own bowl with brown rice+ mixed greens, salmon, spicy tuna, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, green onions, pickled ginger and sesame seeds all in the “Original” and Spicy Mayo sauce.It was a bit too spicy for my taste but surprisingly the burning sensation in my mouth didn’t last for too long so no big deal.Quality and freshness of the ingredients were great. Ordered the Salmon Lovers bowl, a bit more $ than the other options, but very much worth it!A tangy type sauce, perfectly cooked rice and topped with salmon roe. You can order it at the moment inside or phone ahead. There is seating outside, with sun exposure during lunch time, in the evening remember a sweater!I would have maybe liked a little bit of a spicy sauce, but Im sure you can ask for a packet

Best poki ever!! Saw it on yelp, at 1st I thought just like poki shop now different. But finally Im in the area and want to give a try. When I walk in the restaurant . Its not big area but give me very clean and classic feeling. And I did choose your own bowl for poki. I pick hamachi, salmon and house turn also I add cured egg and Ikura. Some of the friendliest customer service I have ever received! Our cashier went over the entire menu with us and gave us lots of recommendations. In the end, my boyfriend and I decided on two Yuzu Salmon Bowls.I was impressed by the quality of the salmon! Very fatty and marbled. Melted in my mouth! The pickled radish were sweet and refreshing. It balanced out the umami from the truffle. I got my bowl with a cured egg, which gave the bowl more depth! I was honestly very disappointed by the rice. It was pretty dry. The bowl also had A LOT of cilantro, which got a bit overwhelming after a while. For some reason, the sauce on my salmon was spicy as well? But my boyfriends salmon was not spicy? Not sure if that was a mistake.. Overall, Im not sure if it was worth the $20 price tag...I think I will come back and try their omakase (since I loved the fish quality). Or maybe Ill come back and create a custom bowl. I think I just prefer my poke with more vegetables and just overall variety.

Great poke spot with a Japanese twist. Rice bowls + fresh ingredients with an egg on top, it can easily be a new brunch dish for me. Friendly, casual, clean. Not a lot of seating and I see plenty of people getting takeout.

Easily one of the best poke bowls I’ve had in the country. Bold statement, I know. But Tuna Kahuna really is a gem and serves up some of the freshest poke bowls, and for great value. In particular, the yuzu hamachi bowl is special — the flavor combination is surprising and delightful. It doesn’t hurt that the owners and staff are super friendly, and it’s a very chill environment. I dined here both as a solo diner at the bar and with a date. Highly recommend.

Great new poke spot on Burlingame Ave.! Parking is of course tough but if you can find your way here, it’s definitely worth it. Portions are great, ingredients are fresh, decor is comfortable and inviting. There’s outdoor seating as well!I built my own but they have signature bowls as well. The price IS higher than others ($~15) but the quality is good. Love that cherry tomatoes and corn are options. Don’t love that tobiko is an extra cost and imitation crab counts as a fish selection but still recommend!

The first time I ever had poke was not in Hawaii or some Hawaiian restaurant. It was at a little shop in the Sunset called Yum Yum Sushi on Irving St. in SF. This was before all the poke shop explosion here in the Bay Area! I fell in love with poke with that first bite and later ate it everytime I was in Hawaii ( My favorite is Tamuras Fine Wine & Liquors Waialae in Maui!) We had a delightful dinner here with our 4 daughters. The food was delicious and healthy. Heartily recommended. I made a mistake and forgot to order a bowl for one of my daughters; they were so gracious that they made it quickly and not only that, offered me a beer on the house. This is easily my favorite poke spot on the Peninsula.I always get a custom bowl, but the menu items sound fantastic too. The fish is so fresh and so delicious. The portions are incredibly generous, and if it wasnt weird / potentially gross to save poke, Id probably make two meals of it.It is pretty expensive - happy to pay it to support them, but I cant make a daily habit of it.

One of the better poke bowl places in the entire Bay Area. The signature poke bowls are all amazing. It’s not your typical counter service poke bowl place where all the flavors come from the sauce. Instead the signature bowls feature unique flavors that you don’t usually see elsewhere such as yuzu truffle sauce, shiso leaves and wasabi root which elevates the dishes. Their food here definitely focuses on quality over quantity.

Great place to get some fresh poke under $20! A true gem of Burlingame. We went with Spice Seul twice and that was great. Definitely have to try something else too.One thing I wish the fish was seasoned with a bit of sourness, not just raw. Lack of seasoning also makes the poke a bit dry.

Ever since my favorite poke place went out of business, Ive tried other places and really havent liked them...until now! Tuna Kahuna is so good. The fish was fresh, the veggies were delicious, and the selection was great. The bowls are a little pricey, but theyre huge, so you get your moneys worth. My husband and I both made our own bowls, and Im guessing we couldve shared one. So glad we finally have another poke place on the peninsula!

Everytime I order the miss an ingredient like a cured egg. The pictures for online ordering do not match the description and is miss leading. For example the Yuzu Salmon shows edamame and carrots. My husband bowl looked nothing like it. I call and they never offer a discount or refund.

Im sure part of the premium price is just due to being in Burlingame. Very limited poke bowl toppings for the price. Got a regular poke bowl here, for $14. At that price point, dont limit the non-premium toppings to 5, dont be so stingy. The only unusual topping i saw in the regular section was beets. They have interesting stuff in their premium toppings section (up charge), which Im sure are good. Its like they get you in there, and then make you pay more for a poke bowl worth eating.The basic bowl for $14 with no premium toppings is not worth it. Better basic poke bowls to be had in san mateo.

I love this place, great food and incredible people running the show. Their bowls are so tasty and their ingredients are extremely fresh and high quality. The atmosphere is great and I leave there happy with my order every time, because their food product is consistent. My favorite is the Hamachi Yuzu bowl- the pickled radishes are so good. A great spot to grab a healthy meal, snack, or casual drinks. Bar seating, a few indoor tables, and some outdoor seating on the sidewalk. Everything I had was delicious, and we tried a lot of stuff. Visited 10+ times in the month that we were back visiting from Tokyo. Great beer, wine, and sake selection as well. Wish we could visit more! Go for their signature selections!

To start off, boy do I like the name. My girlfriend is a regular and both the staff and the owners treated us like kings. Not only are they friendly, but recognize how much my girlfriend cares and loves their poke. She called me the other day telling they gave her lunch that day for free. They recognize their loyal customers and reward that loyalty. Speaking of their poke, great poke. Wait, not great, BEST POKE! I loved their poke, I ate that day a whole large dominos pizza but it was so good I ate one with my girlfriend and I couldn’t stop eating. Big shoutout to the owners, and staff. You deserve a 5 star and all the business you got going.

Tuna Kahuna! The name says it all: awesome.Stopped by about 30 min before closing on a Tuesday night and ordered a couple bowls and glasses of sake at the bar with my friend. 3 hours later, we were still there, sitting at the bar in a closed restaurant with the owners and their friend drinking sake and throwing down the following shenanigans:1. The friend claimed to be 511. This might seem like a moot point and youre asking why you should you care, but hear me out - men who declare they are 511 are actually 59 and know they cant get away with saying they are 6. I quickly proved this fact and proceeded to call him Shorty for the rest of the night.2. We chatted about the upcoming enhancements to the restaurant including a black and white contrast mural as well as removing the top shelf on the bar because everyone is too short to reach it.The food is great, owners (OK and their friend too) even more great and I cant wait to visit again the next time Im in the Bay Area.

Ordered a Yuzu Hamachi bowl with cured egg and shallot topping, got the bowl with no cured egg and no shallot topping :( I regret walking out without looking and now there’s no egg despite paying extra for it lolThe bowl by itself is good though but I probably should have built my own because they didnt add my customization :/
