Imura Japanese Restaurant in Watsonville

My favorite spot for sushi in Santa Cruz County. I like to order the Gyoza before ordering a sushi roll. Staff is very friendly and give good reccomendations of their favorite menu items. We like to come at all different times of the day, we never have to wait more the 15mins. The atmosphere is inviting.I love that their are photos of the sushi rolls. Makes it easier to decide on the choice I want. Anything with shrimp or avocado will catch my eye.

Greeted warmly, and seated promptly. There used to be seating at the sushi bar, but that’s a cluttered mess now. A Dragon Roll was presented looking more like a brown worm - no flourish or “Dragon Roll decoration”. The octopus salad arrived with an attractive presentation. Thank you! The combo tempura was tasteless and mushy - more resemblance to anything breaded and deep fried at a local diner. This batter was chunky, not smooth.

Everytime I have appointments in Watsonville I love stopping here to eat. I got a bento box and some sushi to go for later.I had teriyaki steak, tempura, and gyoza, and it came with rice, salad and soup. The sushi I ordered to go was so delicious. For the chicken teriyaki roll, I added cream cheese and it had grilled chicken topped with sweet sauce. Also, I got a Yammy Roll, which has tempura yam, and I, of course, added cream cheese. Everything was amazing!

Found this restaurant by accident while looking for a tasty and family friendly place to sit. Stumbled upon this Japanese + Korean restaurant in Watsonville and to my surprise it was packed!! Once seated and looking at the menu, we all wanted to order so many items eventually settling on a dish each.Will have to visit again soon.

I was disappointed with the quality. The sashimi specifically the octopus taste funny like old and turning. One of the sashimi was very thin and find that odd. The service was ok at best. I don’t understand the 4.5 rating.

Good Japanese food, but with a Korean twist. I was sitting at the bar and eyeballing everyones food because they do a great job plating. They definitely make the best tasting Gyoza around - hands down.If you go here for dinner expect delays. If its a small group I recommend looking for seats at the bar as you will get better service.

I’ve seen good reviews for this spot, and my toddler loves ikura nigiri so we tried it out. All of the food was great. The yellowtail had a great texture, and the soft shell grab was the best quality I’ve personally had in the area. The owner and the waitstaff were very friendly sweet and attentive even though it was packed. The bento boxes were massive and the rest of the table was in a food coma, otherwise I would’ve gotten the green tea ice cream float. We got our bill and after the owner brought out a chocolate cake that her sister made. It was amazing and the owner was the SWEETEST lady.

We were traveling as we often do and we were very pleased to stumble across this amazingly establishment. The service here was the best we’ve ever experienced even though the restaurant was very busy. They were very attentive and the food came out fast and tasted great. Highly recommend!!

Super delicious spot with very attentive service. Id give 6 stars if I could, but by all means come in and stay awhile, you will not he disappointed. Kid friendly menu and walk- up sushi bar! Kevin is the best! Thank you for taking care of my daughter Ava at dinner!

Such good food. First time trying ramen and this was the place to try it!
