I really like this place! The first time I tried Joyee’s was at 99 Ranch, and now they closed the 99 ranch location and have new locations at Poway and 4s ranch. That’s nice because it’s closer to where I live. All the foods I’ve tried so far are pretty nice. I really love the shredded pork with wood ears 鱼香肉丝, also the cucumber salad. Their service is very sweet and friendly as well.

My husband and I eat a lot in San Francisco Outer Richmond area and recently found Joyee. It is our favorite in San Diego right now. We love their spring rolls and hot sour soup, which is a little spicy. I understand that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are busy times but we love to go for lunch during the week. Please give it a try. Today we had the above and it came to a little over $16 - the large bowl of soup was 9.99. I dont think a lot of people know because it is tucked in at the shopping center across the street from Smart & Final.

After traveling through Asia recently I was craving dumplings and this place did not disappoint. Food was delicious and brought back memories of my travels. Had the braised beef noodle soup, spicy wontons, pork and cabbage dumplings, and snow pea leaves. I will be coming back again and again!!

I’ve been wanting to try it out since the store was located in 99 ranch and very glad I finally went in. It’s a really good substitution than other fancy dim sum restaurants (cheaper but good quality). Highly recommend their dumplings, buns and noodles. The staff is also super friendly and kind. Will revisit again for sure.

This was our first time in this restaurant yesterday except for our oldest daughter who has been here before. We were a party of 12 and I called to make a reservation. I was a little worried about the service and the quality of the food. We ate at their sister restaurant in 4S Ranch a few months ago and were not impressed with the dishes and the service . When we arrived, a server was preparing our table. She was very welcoming and attentive. The dishes were very tasty and large portion. The service was fast. We’ll definitely be back again.

Ordered the twice cooked pork and it was one of the best one I ever had. Not only the portion is big and price is very inexpensive.The spicy of the tasteis up the point of being perfect. Its freshness is and first off the wok cooking is first rate. I recommend this dish to anyone.

Fresh and delicious. Large variety of food, not just dumplings. Grab some frozen dumplings to eat another time. Impeccable service and laid-back atmosphere. Light and airy inside, lots of different tables and booths to sit at. Highly recommend!

Just brought my folks here for late Fathers Day lunch and everything was excellent. We ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, Fried Dumplings, Schezuan Beef Brisket, and Shredded Pork. It was all seasoned perfectly! The Beef Brisket was tender and had just the right amount of Peppercorn, the Pork the perfect amount of tangy sweetness, and the soup & dumplings were burning hot and flavorful.The two staff members were very hospitable and flew all over the dining area.Only downside would be that the noodles lacked a little bite, but even then they didnt shed starch into the broth.Definitely coming back :D

Ordered dumplings and fried buns. Service was fast. Dumplings tasted no better than those sold in ranch 99. Fried buns were a joke. No itemized bill and I was charged 27 dollars for one 13 dollar dish and one 7 dollar dish. Did you charge tap water or take out box? Will never go again.

We love the food in convoy, but its just gotten so busy now. To our surprise we found Beijing City and lets just say our trips to convoy have decreased dramatically. Fantastic Chinese dishes with some amazing flavor... We have tried many items and you really cant go wrong! We particularly love the tofu with fish, husband and wife, and cashew with chicken.

Overall: My friend (who is quite picky) stated that this location had good authentic Chinese food (she was right :)). She DID say the one on 4S ranch tastes like cheap Chinese fast food. Ordered through DoorDash for pickup on a Sunday afternoon at 12pm. it took about 40 min for our food to be ready, the app estimated 25 min.The shopping center Joyee is located in is large and easy to access. parking is ample as it is near North Park Produce.we ordered 2 orders of dumplings (pork & napa and pork & shrimp), Pork wonton soup, combination chow mein and kung pao chicken.the chow mein, pork & napa, and kung pao chicken were really delicious. the pork & shrimp dumplings were decent and I wish the pork wonton soup was a bit more flavorful. though the combination chow mein had A LOT of onions, it’s easy to remove and is a well flavored dish.the food was packaged very well and still hot when handed to us.

Came here with my wife and her aunt and uncle. I lived in Beijing for four years and love trying authentic mainland Chinese cuisine. They do it very well here, especially the Shanghai style (XiaoLongBao) soup dumplings and the braised eggplant... Also recommend the garlic green beans and pork fried dumplings.

Horrible customer service! No flavor/salt in any of the food. Found a hair in my fried rice. And to top it off, I was given a receipt with an amount total and when I paid, I was given a second receipt back and told to pay a different amount not included in the original check w/ a 15% gratuity ( and when I informed them it wasn’t about the $1.10 difference, but instead the issue of no apology or explanation for their mistake until I questioned them about my check being returned; They argued with me that it was posted on a piece of paper taped to their window). There are better dumpling places in SD, but this spot is convenient. The dumpling wrapping is thicker than most places, but the flavor is good. Beef wrap is decent. Fried rice is pretty greasy, wouldn’t order again.

The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. My party of 8 got one dish each and were not able to get through even half of it despite its good quality and flavor. Each dish could serve 2 or 3 people, especially if you add rice, with a good variety of spicy and non-spicy dishes to put over it. They basically had every kind of meat you could ask for. If you want some really good Chinese food, don’t go and order the fried rice and orange chicken, you are missing out on a whole other world of flavor that San Diego residents hardly ever get. Not to say it was bad however, as the youngest in the group thought the orange chicken was excellent. If I could recommend anything in particular, I would get the xiaolingbao steam buns, which had warm soup inside a steam bun as an appetizer, with the beef hot pot, which was just the right amount of spicy, and would serve 3 people well.Excellent food, service, and portions!

Ordered for takeout, it appears that they arent doing dine-in yet. The person who helped me was very polite and courteous, and was able to take my order quickly and my large order was ready in about 30 minutes (7 dishes). Paying was quick and easy as well. The food was very delicious, and I can definitely recommend the fish with preserved cabbage( this is a soup), the pork and chive dumplings, the pork and shrimp bun, and the dandan noodles. The serving size on the soup was incredibly large, and you definitely get the most for your money. All the food was well-prepared and tasted delicious, will definitely be coming back to this place.

Anyone can find Chinese food they like here. The steamed buns were phenomenal. I came with my family and we all shared the food we ordered. An entree ranges from $10-15 and easily feed 2 people if you ask for rice. The restaurant appears to be primarily take out, but the dine in setting was perfect for my party of 8. The staff are extremely hospitable and willing to help with any questions. The menu had photos but no descriptions of the entree, so ask if you’d like to know what vegetables they include in the entrees. The Szechuan pork and beef were some of my favorites, but I would recommend the Kung Po if you’re not a fan of spicy. The spice levels of the food is very manageable, I ordered the Hot Pot and shared with everyone. I would recommend this restaurant who wanted authentic Chinese food at a very reasonable price.

I don’t usually write reviews but my mom has been asking me to write this one. So here’s our background. My mom and I are originally from Thailand. But she’s Chinese and grew up eating both Thai and Chinese dishes. When she came to visit me, she said she wanted to have pork/beef belly and this restaurant just happened to be the only restaurant I know that has those dishes. So I took her there. I personally really like their food. I do think their price is reasonable. 15$ a dish but it’s big so I usually have a left over.My mom eats really really spicy, like eating habanero for snacks kind of spicy, but their food and chilli oil are not. HOWEVER, my mom said “it smells phenomenal”. I cannot tell you how good their food smell. She loved it so much!The service was great and the restaurant is never busy so the food always come out quickly.P.S. We had braised pork belly and beef belly hotpot(this one will numb your tongue)

Shocking how bad the food was. We were really excited about trying this place, but we took one bite of the orange chicken, and fried rice and threw it away. We couldnt eat it. It was horrible. Fried rice had a weird smell, but then no flavor. The meat had no flavor. It was fried rice that seemed like it was frozen? We got the pork xiao long dumplings and ate those at least but not amazing. Will not be coming back. Disappointed since its rated 4.4? Maybe we got the wrong items. Nice staff though.

Great restaurant and food! We ordered the Xiao Long Bao, BBQ pork buns, dumplings and beef wrap. Liked the XLB the most and definitely a get again. Cant wait to go back and try more dishes! Service was a bit slow on a busy Friday night, but most restaurants are having a difficult time finding staff right now, so either have some patience or stay home and cook your own meals.

Went to this restaurant at 7:30 on a FRIDAY night and were told we can eat there as long as we were done by 8:00 pm because that is when they close. The food must have been pre-made, it took less than five minutes to get. It tasted pre-made, not at all authentic. As we were eating another party came in and were turned away because it was too late. I’m so glad the owner is doing so well serving mediocre food that they can turn away business in this high rent area. We will not return.

Finally got a chance to try this place out. My family decided to place an order for take out for dinnerWe ordered to try out..-Pork Wonton Soup-Combination Chow Mein-Smoke and Salt Duck-Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings)I was very excited but after trying these items I came to be disappointed.The pork wonton soup was bland. The broth tasted more of seaweed but the wontons made up for it. By far one of the best wontons Ive had yet.The combination chow mein was bland as well. And it was mostly vegetables and found it odd it had scrambled eggs in it. I was disappointed there was more veggies than noodles. Although the beef, chicken, and shrimp was in abundance to make the lack of noodles and flavor.Im not a big fan of duck and I would pass on this entree. The duck had a weird after taste. Maybe cause of the smoke flavor? It was not appetizing.Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) was a let down. There was no soup in the soup dumplings.Service was quick and easy to place over the phone (there was something wrong with their online ordering system). I want to like this place but so far not a good start. I will give it another try on my next vist and hope that this place will pick up in quality and taste.

This is the first place my husband and I went to in Poway after we got married and so of course we ordered the Husband & Wife which is a cold beef and tripe dish that is tossed with cilantro and a tangy, spicy dressing. Its my absolute favorite and I get it every time we come here. The restaurant is nice and quiet, and the staff are friendly.

Update: I reviewed this restaurant a year ago and it appeared that it has a new owner and name, so we just checked it out. The Xiao Long Bao (小笼包) is ok, a bit doughy and dry. The Dan Dan noodle (担妲面) is delicious and authentic, our favorite. The steamed Pork belly with preserved veggies (梅菜扣肉) is very good. I like it as it is not too saucy or salty. We also tried the pork sticky rice (上海肉嗥), it is as good as the one served at Din Tai Fung. This place is authentic (no added sugar for western palate), we definitely will come back. Finally, service is a bit curt, maybe its cultural. Definitely room for improvement.

The good the bad and the ugly.Good: the staff, the water, white rice, the dumpling (bland and o the salty side, and no sauce, just vinagreta or soy sauce.The bad: spicy chicken was flavor less, not spicy and so salty that even with no flavor the salt numbd my tongue and throat.The ugly: the chillie oil is not spicy, the food has no flavor and the salt made my stomach and my wifes hurt.I will like to give them a chance but a second chance might be far fetched.Gave them a 3 for the friendliness and the chowmein and the white rice.**** update. 10 hrs later and the stomach is feeling worse and the puking sensation is at large. Down to 1 star and for sure not trying it again

There are much better Chinese restaurants down on Convoy, generally between Clairemont Mesa and Balboa. We tried this place twice, only because it is close. After the second visit my wife and I both came down with severely upset stomachs (vomiting, diarrhea). Needless to say, we will never return.

You must try the duck blood braised vegetables, they are large in quantity, rich in meat, tasty and not spicy. And the price is very reasonable. The only dissatisfaction is that the meat slices have been marinated in meat tenderizer and lacked a bit of meat flavor. If you like vermicelli, you can cook your own vermicelli and add it in. It’s really delicious, beyond imagination.
