Joyee dumpling house

Finally got a chance to try this place out. My family decided to place an order for take out for dinnerWe ordered to try out..-Pork Wonton Soup-Combination Chow Mein-Smoke and Salt Duck-Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings)I was very excited but after trying these items I came to be disappointed. The pork wonton soup was bland. The broth tasted more of seaweed but the wontons made up for it. By far one of the best wontons Ive had yet.The combination chow mein was bland as well. And it was mostly vegetables and found it odd it had scrambled eggs in it. I was disappointed there was more veggies than noodles. Although the beef, chicken, and shrimp was in abundance to make the lack of noodles and flavor.Im not a big fan of duck and I would pass on this entree. The duck had a weird after taste. Maybe cause of the smoke flavor? It was not appetizing.Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) was a let down. There was no soup in the soup dumplings.Service was quick and easy to place over the phone (there was something wrong with their online ordering system). I want to like this place but so far not a good start. I will give it another try on my next vist and hope that this place will pick up in quality and taste.
Ju Feng Yuan Dumpling Cafe
12265 Scripps Poway Pkwy #b109, Poway, CA 92064, United States
Food: 5/5Service and Setting: 3.5/5Value: 3/5Ju Feng Yuan is a new restaurant that has opened where a Lao restaurant used to be. The interior has not changed much and there is not even a sign up yet. The restaurant itself is clean. They are very short staffed so while the service is very kind, they do tend to run behind. One of the chefs would come out and serve the food and share lots of information about the restaurant and how things are going in Mandarin, so if you want to practice this a great spot! The young lady helping me in the front told me that this restaurant is an extension of another small restaurant in LA. I was not expecting much, but the food here is exceptionally honest, authentic, fresh, and has a homey flavor. Please come out and support a new small business!Pork and Chive Dumpling: 5/5I really wanted to try their xiao long bao 小籠包 and their sheng jian bao 生煎包, the waitress told me that they just sold out. I got the pork and chive dumpling instead and it was very good. The skin was thick and chewy the way a boiled dumpling should be. The filling was lightly bouncy and had a good amount of soup inside. The ratio of meat to chive was perfect as well as well seasoned. I did not like the dipping sauce and would have preferred just some soy and black vinegar, but I did not want to add more to their work load. A stellar example of what a dumpling should be.Shrimp and Pork Wonton in Chili Oil: 5/5This wonton was also spectacular. I have always been disappointed with wontons from most restaurants as they tend to use the same filling as their dumplings. At Ju Feng Yuan, they do it the right way with a coarsely chopped meat and big chunks of shrimp. Again, a deliciously thick skin with a wonderfully springiness that soaks in the sauce. I am not a particularly big fan of their chili oil, but it is very complex and hits all of the flavor points, particularly sweet and sour and not so much spicy. To me, it tasted a lot like a sweet and sour version of sha cha jiang 沙茶酱.Beef Dumplings: 4.5/5I'm not an expert on Chinese food, but beef and onion dumplings are a Northern style that I do not have a lot of experience with. Always seeing people eat this online has made me crave it intensely and I'm glad I got to try it here. It is not common to serve and they do a good job. The flavor of the meat is strong, almost a bit gamey with some bits of gristle that I think help give it flavor. It was a bit tough, but “tough” isn't the exact word I would use. Maybe sinew-y? The flavor was shockingly similar to beef kebabs, especially Pakistani renditions. Again, the dumpling skin was great and lots of soup inside with the filling.

Plenty of parking in this plaza. Friendly staff and quick service. I asked for a split check prior to ordering but she still combined it at the end. Cozy indoor and outdoor dining. Rate 3.5, round to 4.Their lunch specials are daily from 11-3pm that comes with rice and appetizers. You can add $1 for soup and $1 for vegetables. There are 16 items with two vegetarian items. There’s also a section called “special combination plate” that offer choices served daily 11-5pm, after 5pm would be $1 extra. Different items than lunch and comes with same sides but with egg roll and wontons. Add $1 for soup.I decided against lunch menu and got fresh wonton soup with noodles. It was a decent size bowl that could be easily shared among two if family style. Since I ate it as a meal, it was like the size of a ramen bowl.It was lo mein noodles and 4 freshly made pork wontons with cabbage, broccoli and carrots. The broccoli was too tough and needed to be cooked a tad bit longer. The broth was perfect for my palate but others might say it was bland. You can add sauces. My friend got the lo mein bba pork under special combo plate. I saw an egg roll but not cream cheese wonton. For dinner, there’s a menu for $16 or $17 per person with 6 choices. The menu is comparable to other Chinese restaurants and with fair prices. The shrimp category seems to be the highest at $17.85 which is understandable with seafood.

COUPLES PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!THEY ARE SUBTLY RACIST AND ON DRUGSELLOS SON BABOSOSIve spoken to Olga the manager, she said that I may not(lol) judge her business off of these incidents...But this is a family business and she chooses who she hires correct? I asked her this and she seemed flustered and suggested i waste my time coming in to discuss(her damage control duh). Obviously Olga hires her relatives without managing them properly or even making sure they qualify. Olga does not believe that the employees she hires represent her business. Yet her employees wear a uniform that represents her business...Also note that this is a family business and families tend to share beliefs and traits. So note that Olga probably does not actually see any problems here but is simply attempting to perform customer service and damage control.A FEMALE EMPLOYEE HERE DOES NOT RESPECT RELATIONSHIPS.SHE ONLY TOUCHES MY HANDS WHEN MY GIRL IS WITH MESHE TRIES TO FLIRT AND MAKE ERRORS SHE THINKS ARE CUTESHE GAVE ME A RECIEPT THEN ACCUSED ME OF NOT PAYING 5 MINUTES LATER. I think she should stop doing meth...She forgets my girls order but not mine every time and makes sure to only give one fork so I have to ask her for another fork so she can interact again. Even though the males here give me two forks no matter what and never forget my order, girlfriend or no girlfriend. She glares at my girlfriend all the time and ignores her blatanly when she tries to order. The lady will only look at my eyes and smile at me while blank facing my girl friend. What is this discrimination? Just because she is not hispanic? This is very cruel, I took my girl to taco taco because she had many loved ones pass recently and I wanted to make her feel better, only to have her feel discriminated and unwelcome. To those who are doubtful of my words, know that Ive observed this business for years hoping they would prove themselves due to their convenient location. However, I cannot excuse repeated errors that occur more consistently than actual positive occurrences.@Bitter Latinas: If a mex/asian coupling makes you feel unwanted, accept it bc its true, you are unwanted. Look how you grown women act.Bow out gracefully instrad of disgracing the culture and business you represent with your strange vendettas.UNDECIDED CUSTOMER FOR YEARS AND I WILL NEVER RETURN.WANT TO HAVE A BAD DATE?Go hereWANT A FAT OLDER LONELY LADY(that looks like shes on methamphetamines)TO IGNORE YOUR DATE AND GLARE AT HER EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME?WANT THAT SAME LADY TO REPEATEDLY INTENTIONALLY SMEAR HER SWEATY PALMS WITH UR PALMS IN FRONT OF YOUR PARTNER(sexual harrasment)AND NOW FOR THE FOOD:Id get it if you like gambling. They have cheap fish tacos that vary in quality. 6/10 times soggy fish and the shell is crumbly and falling apart. They skimp me 6/10 times as well. Sometimes my tacos are a lot smaller and my fries are barely there.I almost always feel like I wasted my money here.I really wanted taco taco. I am very disappointed and ashamed to be Hispanic as well.P.S. i see responses to male reviews with profile have a winky face where as the response to nancy tran and (asian female) and pictureless males has no wink. Crazy Duck
13487 Poway Rd, Poway, CA 92064, United States
I came for the duck burrito, but when I didnt see it on the menu and asked for it, they looked at me like I was in the wrong place..with that being said, I went to the next best sounding option, the roasted duck noodle soup. The duck still had bone and lots of cartilage, so you really had to get hands-on to eat this soup. My wife wasnt happy at all about that. If it was separated and chopped, it would have been much more pleasant. The noodles were good.I did like how they had hot and sour soup available as you wait. It did taste authentic and flavorful. We also ordered shrimp dumplings & the pork Xiao long bao. It seemed like the shrimp dumplings were mixed with pork, as u can see on my pictures. But I will say both were also delicious. When the xaio and dumplings came out, plates never came with it... I had to walk up front and ask.Although the woman at the register was friendly, the service lacked. I also had to retrieve my to-go containers to take home my wifes leftover soup. This isnt table service, but at the least, bring plates with the food. With all that being said, it was hard to place a 5 stars on it.

O Sushi & Grill

I usually not leave review for the same reasons everyone has. However, this is different. I want to share my one of the worst experience for public benefit and make sure my neighborhood does not waste their money. This place used to be okay before pandemic and today my family feel sushi and udon. And we ordered a bunch of different udon and Unani Don. This is total mistake and ruined our family lunch. Unagi converted carbon coal and NOT eatable! I called up restaurant owner to request cancel this order because it was pick-up order. To my surprise, a lady owner said it is NORMAL and she even checked unagi before packed. How come? So, I sent a couple of pic for the proof and she called me back saying it seems little overcooked without a single word of sorry and she added the cook who made unagi don is currently on break and she has no idea, idea of what?!. I did not hear any word of apology till the end, she kept saying I need to contact Uber Eats to ge t refund, which boosted my anger to the fullest. I will leave a couple of pic of Unagi to your decision. Can you eat? Kimchi udon has only kimchi and MSG in it, it used to have tempura fish cake and fried tofu, etc. You will pay for 11.95 + tax for just water + kimchi + MSG + noodle. Total joke. Spicy miso ramem is mediocre, no way it costs 11.95. Only normal dish was tempura udon which is difficult to fail. The quality is still 3 out of 5 star. Overall, this restaurant is totally removed in my map and I am writing this for you and your friend + family. Simply the worst! (Same review I left in Yelp)
City Dragon Chinese Food
13516 Poway Rd, Poway, CA 92064, United States
Rolled the dice tonight and ended up with City Dragon, this little hidden Gem has been feeding the City of Poway for more than 18 years. There was no one in the restaurant when we came in tonight but it was only 8:05pm so we had about 45 minutes to stuff our face before we had to leave to make our movie. Menu super simple and easy to understand (see picture) the couple here took our order for 4 people and had the food all out in under 8-10 minutes. We purchased Broccoli and Beef, Orange Chicken, Miso Soup, Egg Flower (similar to Egg Drop) and some chicken fried rice. I brought my 3 toughest food critics with me tonight, and all three gave the thumbs up approval tonight. We will definitely be bringing mom back here, all the food tasted great, warning soup comes out HOT, buyer beware. The couple serving us did a great job, definitely a cozy and welcoming place, the atmosphere definitely would be a great place to take a date. All drinks are bottled or canned.
