Great food, service and setting are just as a typical low end Chinese restaurant
The lady who greeted me was very friendly, the restaurant is old but feels okay. I ordered the #1rice noodle and really liked it. The soup is clear and very tasty, I think it is chicken base. This combination noodle always comes with, pork, fish balls, shrimps, and pork kidneys. The shrimps are fresh and in a good size (I dont like business that will give you 3 to 4 small shrimps that has no texture and taste) and the kidney does not have the weird funky smell.
Kim Ky is No.1 noodles in San Gabriel area. Get early or late afternoon is the best time to visit, otherwise you have to wait for the seat.

Been coming here since high school I think but never wrote a review so here it is. The food here is delicious and cheap, although I think they made their portions for their soup noodles smaller but I understand of course businesses have to raise their prices. This place is always busy so come early and prepare to wait. I always order their most popular house noodles top put a thick layer of their satay sauce in it... Their sauce is amazing. If you go there and its empty.. ask for more they will refill it. I feel like the sauce is half the reason I go to this place. Ive also had their radish cake with egg which is very good too.
This is my favorite restaurant for noodles and especially the pork kidneys. I absolutely love this place. I do need to explore their menu more and order other items, but I always get the #1 noodles with soup on the side. Atmosphere isnt much, and its always busy. Love this place. I could live here! And, why dont they open in the evenings?
This is one of my favorite noodle shops! So yummy! Parking can be a pain but there’s street parking in the neighborhood if the lot is full.I like mixing the noodles two different ones is a good variety. My favorites are the thick rice noodles and the thin egg noodles.
One of my favorite places to get noodles from. Have yet to find a dish I disliked so far.I recommend the chinese donut from here, crunchy and fluffy. Best quality out of all the places I tried. I enjoy putting them into broth for a bit to soak them up.Usually it can get crowded and occasionally the run out of ingredients like kidney
One of the best noodle restaurants in the area. Their satay sauce is delicious on almost everything. You get 6 different noodles to choose from for their combination noodles. My only recommendation is to bring in your own fried garlic, its the only thing they dont have on house, but it ties everything together.
Extremely busy Chinese noodle house. Be sure to know what you want and be prepared to wait for a table. Once ordered, service is very quick. Food is delicious, no frills, large portions. It is this busy because it is that good.
They were extremely rude, they sat my bf and I separate from all the other patrons in the restaurant even going as far as to reseat customers who came in later so they were away from us (hes not Asian so we think that was the factor). Plus there was flies in the restaurant.The soup portion was very generous, but the side order of fishcakes came with a very measly amount.After he paid, the woman at the front just carelessly tossed the change on the counter, not even acknowledging him, and talking to her co-worker instead.One of the worst services Ive experienced !! Food taste was decent, service terrible, price is affordable.If you like good service dont come here. If youre looking for an inexpensive meal then its an okay choice.
This place is busy and staff here are walking by you with hot food nonstop. Parking here is not bad but once you make it to the restaurant, youll put your name on a waiting list.With this much business, cleanliness does take a backseat. You may find the tables still wet from their towels or leftover food on your chair. The good portion here is huge but unfortunately their use of MSG is very heavy handed.
The family seemed to enjoy their dishes. I had the sate noodles which was smaller than I expected (the other noodle dishes were served in a larger bowl).Flavor of the sate noodles was decent but nothing to write home about, Ive had better at the chiu chow restaurant in downtown San Fran.
Food-wise this has got to be one of the best values in the SGV for good asian food. The soup and noodle dishes are fantastic and flavorful. If your grew up on this stuff you’ll be reminded of home cooking. The menu is big so they cover a lot of variety and options. They updated their menu with more pictures to make ordering easier. One of my main lunch destinations while I am in the area. There are also multiple locations. Parking can be tough sometimes. Sometimes they are also understaffed so service can be spotty. They take cash only and the interior has lacked updates. If you can accept the wait and the rush and the madness then you will he well rewarded with some solid asian grub.
The soup tasted watered down, barely could taste the flavor. The place also needs renovating.
Still a good place to man a bowl of noodles; however, not sure if the wait is worth it. Seems like the lack of flavor declined, and no one seems to care about it. If you are going to attempt to try this place, do yourself a favor and park on the street.
I always come here for lunch on Saturdays. The food is great and the service is pretty good. The only problem about this place is the parking. When it gets extremely packed, I have to park on the street on the side of the restaurant. Other than that, I highly recommend Kim Ky if youre looking for some delicious food.
The place is pretty crowded during lunch but it’s worth a wait. The place is not as clean as other restaurants, but if you can overlook that, omg the food is good, all types of noodles to choose most of them are amazing. The service is okay but mostly because they’re pretty busy. Definitely worth a try, if you don’t like the esthetic of the place you can away order takeout.
Best Teochew noodle house ever, I have been coming here since my high school days. It does get very busy during peak hours, parking is hard too find since the lot is not big. I tend to order to go or get there during non peak hours. I almost forgot to mention, this noodle house accept CASH only. Introduce this noodle house to my girl who is now my wife, and now even my son loves their noodle too. We always get the wanton w/ yellow big noodle, fish & chicken w/ yellow & white big noodle, fried rice cake w/ egg, salted fish & chicken fried rice, fired Chinese doughnuts which is so good when you dip it in the soup. As for the noodle, I usually order them dry w/ soup on the side, add any spices which they provide, I make mine very very spicy, sometime I even bring my own chilli as siracha is not spicy enough. Looking for a Chinese noodle place to eat around San Gabriel Valley area, I strongly recommend Kim Ky.
OH MY BELOVED KIM KY.... I am forever grateful for all the hangovers you have cured. I would choose this over pho any day. Dont get me wrong, this place is just as good when youre sober as well. I know a lot of people have their go-to orders here, but it kinda varies for me each time I come. I do like to order their egg noodles dry with whatever meat i feel like having that day and they will still bring out a soup for you on the side. This way, I can eat their noodles dry with their bombb satay sauce and when I get sick of it, Ill pour my soup in my noodles and I can then enjoy it as a noodle soup after :) Best of both worlds! haha If you still have room for more food, I like ordering their coconut jelly too. It comes in the actual coconut and it is refreshing on a hot day.. or during a hangover lol Most dishes ranges from about $6-7? Oh, and dont forget that its cash only. Parking in their lot SUCKS and is usually packed so I dont even bother trying most of the time and Ill just try to park on the street.

Not clear at all, broken table use tissue paper to keep balance, flies every where. You have to keep waving it off while eating. I can not touch the table while eating my noodle soup. It tips back and forth.
The chow kweh was a bit over fried and chopped radish was burnt. The taste just wasnt combined properly. I had to ask for cut green chili and they didnt have fried garlic or chitling. Staff was indifferent.
The noodles here are delicious. You can customize each noodle dish by choosing the different types of noodles(thin/thick rice/egg noodles).

I usually eat at the one in Garvey and it was really delicious so i decided to give this place a try. I realized that originals will always be the best cuz this place was as salty as a concentrated broth.
For me its all about the flat egg noodle dry dish w/ the seafood soup. eat the egg dry w/ the little tangy jalapenos and sriracha sauce and the soup separate. awesome awesome.

2023-12-08 22:48:37The biggest problem was the service, all the servers were so rude, impatient and slow. They basically ignored all your requests after you placed the order. Yes, zero service!Some main issues:1. It was so hard to flag someone down (they played deaf even they saw and heard you)2. They messed up our order but never apologized, and what is worse, I think they intentionally charged more than they should (so make sure you double check)3. CASH ONLY and no receipts.4. They ask you to sit with other customers (we refused so we got to wait longer)Oh man. SMH.

2017-12-22 21:58:54The noodle is quite hard - it is better to cook a bit more. The soup is quite nice, light - fresh and enjoyable. The most famous dish is kidney with light soy sauce - its quite yum. But I think “My Vi My Gia” is much better.

2018-08-05 20:58:49Good old fashioned Chinese Vietnamese noodle shop. The broth is light and packs just the right amount of flavor to complement the egg and rice noodle mixture. There are also rice dishes here worth trying like the Hainan Chicken rice or the cubed beef with rice.This place can get packed around brunch time, it is a good idea to call ahead of time and get a number as you head there.
