My friend and I had a lovely lunch here. My friend is a very picky eater, so it was great to see her enjoy everything and eat heartily. And I enjoyed everything I had as well. We each had a lunch special. The service was very good and the owner is friendly and welcoming. Theres lots of easy parking. We will be going back.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. The quality of the sushi/sashimi was superb. This place doesnt have a million cut rolls, like other sushi restaurants. Instead, they have a specials board that highlights the various cuts of fresh fish they are serving that day. The only aspect of the restaurant I didnt enjoy was the brightness of the interior lighting. I felt like I was at the dentist, with a light shining in my face!The service was quick and friendly. I will definitely be going back!

The year of the Rabbit started with a Grand surprise.Today, January 24, is my birthday and my beautiful daughter invites me to this Wonderful location.She ask, do you want sushi, because I know a place.A 13 minute drive and we land at a memorable Sushi bar.To our surprise, behind the Sushi bar, Penn & Teller...this dynamic Duo made these sushi dish appear and we made it disappear....Joel and Reggie are the Best ....take a look at the few photos I took.You wont be Disappointed.... Chef Joel and chef Junya will blow your mind! Their fish ranges from unique flavors/pairings to classic tastings. They really take pride in what they do, and focus on making sure the customer is happy.Food: Anago was my favorite! I got two orders because it was so yummy. Their sauce is made in house and the sushi is served warm. It melts in your mouth and youll feel like youre in clouds, or living in a beautiful bento box. Uni is also very fresh.Price: The price is written on the blackboard, so you wont be surprised with the bill. Their pricing is very fair.Sit at the bar if you can! Chat with the chefs so they can tailor foods to your palate. Ill be back.

I was s little worried when ownership changed from Hayato and was renamed Kisetsu. However, those concerns where misplaced. The new owner and sushi chef are amazing. Fish is incredibly fresh and the white board specials are a must order. When we stopped in, this included monkfish liver and amberjack, which were both amazing. The three item combinations are delicious and a good value (esp when feeding teenagers). For the quality, this place is a bargain. Whenever Im near Claremont, this is a required stop.

Highly trained chefs making incredible sushi (the best I’ve had in a long time) in a nice, relaxed environment. I recommend getting a few nigiri from their daily specials menu!

I’m really trying to like this place. Food is great but the wait times are just ridiculous. From the moment we ordered, it took them 40 minutes to get 4 orders of nigiris out. If you don’t mind waiting 40-45 minutes for the food then go for it. I did. Oh, service wasn’t great. Inattentive and unprofessional. Perhaps not their fault but I don’t think leaving your customers hanging when they asked the status of your order is prudent.

Keep, keep it coming all night long… from the appetizers down to the last bite of dessert, Kisetsu did not disappoint. This is not your typical quantity over quality joint. First off, when it comes to oysters freshness and cleanliness is the game and these guys nail it from their source and how they prepare them. The sushi and sashimi also were high quality, where each nom melted in your mouth with a burst of flavor for each type.The service was on point with waiters constantly checking in and asking if we’re doing well at every opportunity. I highly recommend you take a pit stop at Kisetsu if your in the area and have a hunger for Japanese flair.

The best sushi spot around! The name Kisetsu means seasonal and the chef brings in foods based on that. Formerly Hayato, they kept favorites from the old menu. Might be crowded so get reservations. Leave a message and they will get back to you.

Hands down one of my favorite sushi spots in all of LA/the 626. Authentic Japanese dishes along with fantastically fresh sushi. Hayato Sushi has been my go-to spot for years and has never disappointed.This place got me through the pandemic and I am forever grateful for their existence. They’re food always provided comfort even at the weirdest of times.They do get busy, especially on weekends! If you cannot get ahold of them when trying to call in for a to-go order it’s because they are already too busy with dine-in. Keep that in mind and be patient, they’re a small business providing A+ quality

If you are looking for exceptional sushi in our area this is your place. The sushi chef is very good at sourcing quality fish. The cut and flavor of each piece we had was excellent. Some of my favorites; the fresh sweet shrimp with perfectly fried heads, the Santa Barbara Uni which tasted like butter and the whole ocean at the same time, the cold clean briny oysters, the meltingly delicious tuna collar. This chef is good and he shines at the sushi counter.

Probably the best kept sushi secret around. Traditional Japanese style with great quality. Nigiri and Sashimi are thier strengths. Bento boxes and cooked items are popular there too

This has been a family favorite since childhood. The sushi here is flat out the best in California and I have been all over the state. The fish is very fresh and the chef takes pride kn being the only one to prepare the sushi himself. The omakase is a must experience.

After nine hours on the road, I tried this place after getting lucky to get a late after hours haircut in the same strip mall. When I walked in, one of the waitresses was walking towards the door with the closed sign. and said she was sorry that they were closed. I asked if they could do a To Go order and luckily they said Yes!!! I really appreciate them going the extra mile so that I could have some good food on the last leg of my road-trip. They were also very friendly. Thanks a ton Hayato!!!

Sorry to say I had a bad experience. I took my son and his girlfriend and had to apologize most of the time. Service was bad and the food was bad. The seafood tasted old not fresh. When I talked to the waitress at the end of our meal (mind you alot of food was still on the table), basically her response was too bad so sad.

Hayato is my go-to Sushi stop. I can always expect fresh fish and great service. It is on the high end, expense wise, but if you are looking for a good date-night location, this is on the top of my list!

I only go here for my Tako...always fresh sushi. Owner is the best...always at the sushi bar making anything you want. Small, nice and family friendly. I dont go anywhere else for fresh octopus.

Friendly service, amazing sake selection. I had sashimi and the miso marinated black cod. Delicious down to the last grain of rice! Ill have to go back and try the selection of rare Japanese beer and the tonkatsudon.

We had high hopes for this place based off previous reviews, but the food was just okay. Sushi was average (havent found any good sushi in Claremont) and service was sub-par. Overall okay experience but nothing special.

Their rice is out of this world good. So is everything else on the menu. Im vegetarian and eat like a king here. For veggies, Id recommend the two item bento with the veggie roll and vegetable croquette (the veggie tempura is good if you want a third option) . Skip the miso soup (has dashi or fish in the broth like normal). Eat every grain of that amazing rice. Theres also great side specials for yummy veggies on the menu or posted by the sushi bar wall. Oh and the tempura ice cream with the black sesame ice cream is just awesome.

Most inland empire Japanese restaurants are run by Koreans. This is pure Japanese and wonderful. The friendliest family ( considering how nasty Nogi was) run a beautiful, clean and delicious place. Ive taken friends who now take their friends as regulars.

Rude and racist waitress! if you look Mexican dont go there!..when I got there I ask for the sushi bar and waiter said it was bussy so no problem give me a table, but then she says if you seat at a table the sushi from the bar will take a loong time so I ask her : are you saying that we should leave? She says nooo of course not, so we seat at the table, my wife told me she was being racist and rude, so I said: maybe she meant something else, then I start ordering from the sushi menu and then she said: better order from the kitchen because sushi will take tooooo long Im thinking wth? I really wanted to try toro So I told her that I can drink a beer while I wait. Then I asked her for slice lemon for my mirugai and she said sorry I cant! So I thought, enough of this crap and I told her to cancel my order she then said let me see what I can do, and then she brought my order in a few minutes and with lemon,,,sushi was good that is why I gave one star but very expensive $118 for 2.. we will not be back.. Ive been to Japan and know of traditional sushi.. I didnt leaver her any tip..she didnt deserve it.If you want traditional sushi go to Kens.

Our go to dumpling place is in the same shopping center. There was a line tonight so we decided to go here. So thankful to have tried this place. The food was excellent and the service was great. Perhaps our new go to!

Ordered dinner combination for takeout dinner. We tried to call and order ahead but they didnt answer the phone, so we ended up ordering at the place. There was a bit of wait (~25 min) but worth it! The food was authentically reminded me of Japan.Although the wait time was long, I was satisfied with the quality Japanese restaurant. I ordered takeout, and I was grateful that each type of food was placed in separate containers, a thoughtful consideration that I dont often see in the United States.
