I absolutely love how many options there are and you can choose to family style a meal with your group or order individually. There’s also an entire page dedicated to specials and bento boxes for those not too familiar with Korean food and want an approachable introduction to the cuisine (on a budget).My family and I loved all the dishes we ended up grabbing and not to mention, unlimited side dishes (cucumber kimchi will forever be my kryptonite). The spicy cold noodle dish I had is vegetarian, but if you add galbi to your bite - chefs kiss. I found the galbi to be perfectly tender and seasoned.Heads up, gratuity is automatically applied for groups of 4+

Ok food fans! Here we go with a review of this place. First off I was stationed in South Korea and fell in love with the food. Its in a strip mall but thats fine. They make good use of the space they have inside. When you first walk in the smell of kimchi immediately hits your nose. I love the stuff so its not a problem for me. The menu isnt overwhelming and has many delicious items. We ordered quite a bit to sample everything. The Bulgogi short ribs are excellent! Tender, juicy and flavorful! I opted for the chicken over rice hot pot which was also good. The chicken wings Korean style are very good as well as the mandoo. Jinro products are sold here as well, Soju and Hite. If you like Korean food give this place a try.

While I was living in Irvine, I stopped by for a trip with my family, and the food was all good and the side dishes were great. Its more delicious than Irvines famous soft tofu dish. Everyone from grandmother to grandchild was satisfied.

My wife and I love their diverse menu and the fantastic macaroons deserts in the freeze box . We have tried a handful of menu items at Korean Kitchen Tofu and really like the food and service. The restaurant is in a great location and has a very helpful staff that can help out with the menu. We very much recommend Korean Kitchen Tofu restaurant.

I’ve been to a handful of Korean restaurants on Convoy and none have really satisfied my deep craving for delicious, nostalgic, and authentic 한식 (Hanshik — Korean food). Can’t believe this random restaurant in Chula Vista finally satisfied this craving! The galbi, tofu soup, kimchi pajun (pancake) were to-die-for. Even my Jewish boyfriend who only really started eating Korean food since he met me was melting over the food at Korean Kitchen.Ignore the reviews that complain about bad service. Tbh, growing up going to the most authentic and scrumptious Korean restaurants in Koreatown in LA, we always got terrible service. Maybe it’s just the hallmark and indicator of excellent Korean food 🤭. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Great lunch combos and that kimchi seafood pancake was delicious. My boyfriend and I are able to share one lunch/dinner combo (a,b,c) with one appetizer/entree and we leave satisfied. The hot stone soup is well flavored and got enough to boil an egg. Bibimbap rice is also a great portion to share and tasty. Best part, dont have to drive all the way to convoy for great Korean food.

I’ve eaten here twice and the food is SUPERB! Got bulgogi ramen, the wings, and short ribs. I’ve been to many Korean bbq places and this is one of the BEST! Also, Sunny and Kara give such good service :) very sweet ladies and gave good recommendations! I will definitely be back!

I wanted to try something new and decided it would be Korean food. Although they were busy when I arrived, I was greeted and seated quickly. Service was very good, and the drink and appetizer were delivered promptly. Happily, they gave me time to enjoy it before the entree arrived. The food was hot and well made. I placed an order and they forgot my rice. We had to drive back which is okay, if it hadn’t been for the fact that we overheard one of the workers say “she is that upset about rice!?”We were on the clock working from home, so yeah it was highly inconvenient to have to drive back for rice and miss our lunch break.I used to love this place, sadly I will not be coming back.

I was here when this place emerged around 2013 and I knew that there were still a lot of kinks that they had to smooth out, because they just opened. Almost 7 years later, I gave this place another chance and .... YES. You all need to try this place out! I brought in my two most ruthless Korean food critics with me and our dine-in experience was heavenly delicious! Our server was friendly and if you like the small dishes (banchan) you can ask for more - no charge! So don’t be shy! See my pics below that proves that you can ask for more of their banchan like kimchi, fish cake, etc.If you’re not sure what to order and you like beef and rice, you can’t mess up with ordering the galbi (grilled marinated beef short ribs) or their grilled chicken. If you’re feeling for some soup, there’s some spicy ones with or without tofu in the meat/veggie mix. I opted for the Spicy Beef Glass Noodles soup Yukgaejang! Mmm mmm!!PS yes there are restrooms and when you walk in - just try to make contact with a server and they’ll have you seated in no time!

I wouldn’t lie the food was kinda good but the problem about this places was the service like the food was slow the place was un organize and mostly the paying was the worst I ordered a bolgogi and they haven’t give it yet and when our main waiter told us that what else do you guys have i said we have 2 bolgogi and he came back again and said that what you guys need in between 10-20 mins the people in our table is almost is almost done with the food and I haven’t got my 2 bolgogi for the the whole table and i just said let ne just have one and make it a take out and they gave it to me but they said that it was 2 in the box the main manager when i start paying but charge me with an extra one and also they said that they have to charge 12% for 4 and up amount of people and also the 12% was not 12% it was more 25% just dont go to this place the workers was slow and kinda not use to the busy place and moving around

The food tasted good overall. The side dishes were tiny and on the sad side. No potatoes, any green vegetables like spinach. The bulgolgi and Kalbi had a great marinate. Soon tofu was good although some of the seafood can be fresher. The service was lack luster. Every dish came at a different time. We asked for a refill on the side dishes and our server completely forgot and when we reminded her she looked like it’s the first time she heard the request. The restaurant is cozy but the seating is a little crowded. It’s worth a try for the food but maybe take out.

I’ve been going here since 2019, and they’ve been great every single time. Since the pandemic started, I’ve been ordering here via takeout.I originally heard about here from word of mouth, and I can really see why. The food is great, always satisfying no matter what I order, and the staff have good service as well.I’ve recently started ordering takeout through their website and the process has been pretty seamless. This place has become one of my favorites in the city, and I always recommend it to friends and tourists in the San Diego Area.

We walked in around 830pm and was told by Sunny(i believe her name was) last call was at 9pm and everyone out by 920She started clearing our table and dropped the check as we were still eating. She came back a few minutes later and asked me to pay now. Didnt ask if we needed boxes or anything.That was one of the WORST services I have ever experienced. The entire dinner felt like we were rushed to eat. This place is a hidden gem, fantastic food. Came here to get some Korean short ribs.They were perfect.My group also ordered the whole Korean fried chicken and it has brought me back here several times. I ordered my food via Yelp through grub hub as advertised on their website. I went to pick up my order (where they had a grub hub sticker on the door) and when I asked for a pick up order. They said they hadnt received it, stating that I must have ordered from somewhere else. I grabbed my phone and when back inside to show them the order. When I walked back in, the two ladies working there were looking at my order, said that they dont do online orders and that I needed to cancel. So they received my order and didnt feel like doing it. We ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap, pork ramen and egg rolls. All the food was lacking flavor. The egg rolls were not crunchy at all. My fiancé paid extra for sides of bean sprouts and dumplings for his ramen but everything seemed to be blended in the broth even the egg. The pork ramen was almost $20. Definitely not worth it.

I have been coming to this place since they opened. Prices were good and food delicious. I moved so it is a drive to get here, but I came back and I was disappointed... Prices almost doubled yes the menu grew more selection and they fixed the place to get more people in that is more tables which is great. Food potions got a bit smaller but some taste which is great. It has had many changes in ownership/management. Service was ok and the wait for the food was kinda long but same great taste.

5/26/20I came here for dinner, I ordered the bulgogi stone pot and haemool pajun- seafood pancake.The food was made to order and delicious.This restaurant is only offering take out and to go orders. They also had macaroon ice cream which I tried the mango flavored one, super tasty. I would most definitely recommend this place. It’s in a shopping plaza and not hard to find.

Just moved to Chula Vista and was suuppperrr bummed about being further away from my beloved Convoy street with all the Korean spots. Then, I found this gem like a hop, skip, and a jump away. STOKED! Ordered their Yukejang and thought it was pricier than average (about $15) but then when it came out, the bowl was huge! It was also so flavorful and filling. It was definitely worth it. Had enough to bring home for seconds too, which I am so excited about. The service was great. Servers were attentive. The banchan dishes were just okay though. I got 5 of them (kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cake, chives and a package of roasted seaweed). Nothing to rave about but nevertheless, I will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes!

Wanted to really love this place. Bulgogi wasnt ribeye. Tasted more like beef chuck. Felt like I went to Zion market. Where they tell you its one type of cut, and bamboozle you with a cheap cut. Dduk bok Ki was overly soft. Similar to if something was reheated. Nothing was very memorable about the meal.Overall, make the drive to convoy for Korean food. This place was a no for me.

Whenever Im feeling homesick for my moms tofu soup (usually when I have a bad cold), this is where I go for comfort! The spicyness of the gochujang in the Beef Soon Tofu soup or Kimchi Chigae soup clears me right up! The Beef Tofu soup is very tastily prepared, it comes with extra soft tofu, beef, mushrooms, zucchini, and very very hot soup (just about boiling) and the side dishes are excellent, very tangy and generous portions. The Kimchi Chigae comes with scallions and jalapenos for even more kick. For my American and Mexican friends, I normally order something different. The Bulgogi BBQ meat never fails, and Kimchi Pajun (Korean pancake with seafood and kimchi) I always tell them is a Korean pizza! If youre not in the mood for soup or a ton of meat and want more veggies, I would get the Dolsot Bibimbap. It includes a fried egg with runny yolk on top of rice with carrots, mushrooms, zucchini, carrots and bean sprouts. I cover the entire thing with lots of Korean hot pepper paste (thats gochujang) and mix it right up. So delicious! Dont miss it!
