Korean Kitchen Tofu & Galbi
509 Telegraph Canyon Rd, Chula Vista, CA 91910, United States
I’ve been to a handful of Korean restaurants on Convoy and none have really satisfied my deep craving for delicious, nostalgic, and authentic 한식 (Hanshik — Korean food). Can’t believe this random restaurant in Chula Vista finally satisfied this craving! The galbi, tofu soup, kimchi pajun (pancake) were to-die-for. Even my Jewish boyfriend who only really started eating Korean food since he met me was melting over the food at Korean Kitchen.Ignore the reviews that complain about bad service. Tbh, growing up going to the most authentic and scrumptious Korean restaurants in Koreatown in LA, we always got terrible service. Maybe it’s just the hallmark and indicator of excellent Korean food ?. Highly recommend this restaurant!

You cannot believe how excited I was to see a Chinese restaurant opening up. And when I visited the first time, I found that it was actually an AUTHENTIC Chinese restaurant. And when I say authentic, I truly mean people and cooks speaking in Chinese - both Mandarin and Cantonese! But that wasn't all… the food is absolutely yummy and to get soup dumplings, yummy pan fried dumplings and noddles within walkable distance… I am so tempted to go every week!My kids love the string beans… and that's a complete win! My two older love the dumplings and my husband even said the beef ribs soup was pretty good!I'm definitely a fan and will be heading there more! The menu is small, but everything is made with a lot of thought and done so well!So support local business and head over and try them out!
Spoon House Korean Cuisine and Cocktails
305 Third Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91910, United States
Really, really wanted to love this place. We pulled in here super hungry. Service was great, although we did have to wait for our waters. The restaurant is cute and its nice that they have a full bar. The food, however, is terrible and over-priced. This should not even be called korean food. We ordered hot stone beef and tofu soup, shrimp and scallion pancake, bimibap, and the fried pork dumplings. All were greasy with fat being the only flavor. The rice was good and so was the water. Do not recommend until they get a new cook. I love korean food, but this is not it. Very much regret eating here. Waste of time and $100. Peace.
Tasty Mandarin
1285 Broadway Suite 104, Chula Vista, CA 91911, United States
This place is delicious and worth every penny. It was late at night, my wife and four kids were hungry, we were staying at a campground not too far away, looked up Chinese Food and this popped up. From the outside we were a little sketched out at first. No customers were parked out front and the line from Yoshinoya made it difficult to get to, we were close to following the crowd there, but were so hungry waiting in that line would not have helped. Once we got our food we realized we made the correct decision. This place is AMAZING and FRESH and DELICIOUS. Staff was super helpful in helping us decide what some of their best dishes are and what appealed most to our kids. EVERYTHING was cooked PERFECTLY and even our young kids ate up their plates. Go here, don't go anywhere else, you'll be missing out.
Pho Viet Noodle
864 3rd Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91911, United States
If your here for take out, dont do it. I am a pho fanatic, I used to live in an area with a lot of great pho places so maybe Im spoiled. When we came in the staff was confused, not helpful, and they only accepted cash. Not to mention that we requested extra limes and they gave us one single lime. It felt lacking in flavor, perhaps because there was no lime lol. I was craving pho for the longest time and they did not hit the spot. Gotta say, pho ca dao beat my expectations after that mishap. Perhaps pho nhu is better dining in, or other items, or even if they just had a bad day - but they didnt leave the greatest impression on us and I try not to leave bad reviews but wanted to save you on the pain. If its close by and you dont want to drive, why not. Otherwise I recommend else where to crave that pho itch you have.
Teriyaki Grill
380 3rd Ave B, Chula Vista, CA 91910, United States
We go to this place several times a month due to their great fresh food and good prices. I always order a chicken teriyaki bento with double meat and my wife a tofu bento. Soooo good. This restaurant is probably in my top 10 best restaurants in Chula Vista. Highly recommended
Simply Fresh Thai
1550 E H St STE B, Chula Vista, CA 91913, United States
This was our first time eating at Simply Fresh Thai (formerly Thai Fresh 2). The staff was friendly and the wait was short despite being there at dinner time. We ordered the papaya salad, gyoza, tom yum soup, I had the pad see-ew, my husband had khao soi, and we both had thai iced tea. Everything was delicious, a bit better than the average Thai restaurant I'd say, my husband especially loved the khao soi and my toddler loved the gyoza and the salad luckily lol. We definitely plan on coming here more often as my husband is excited to try more from the special menu and we enjoyed our experience.
Sushi Roll
1187 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91911, United States
Pros:• Cleanliness• Attentive service• Selection of platesCons:• Unflavorful dishes• Over flavored dishes• Hovering owner/managerI tried this place since it was recommended to me and was quite disappointed. I understand that this is a fusion restaurant, but the majority of the dishes left me dissatisfied. The chicken in a rice plate my brother ordered was actually the only thing that scored my pallet. The Nigiri of the unagi left me discontent. It is one of my favorites especially from Japan. Except this one was drenched in eel sauce and barely grilled. The ikura was another that was a let down. The so-called gyozas didnt even resemble it. It seemed more like a chinese-american fried wonton. The magic tofu was not one bit crunchy and was drenched in its own sauce that it fell apart. the sauce itself was not that good either. The ebi tempura was another let down with it being soggy than crispy which tastes like it was microwaved. The majority of the westernized sushi mainly had cream cheese and didnt really appeal to me. I tired the bunny roll and the ika dragon roll both were unsavory. The ika tasted like I was eating US macaroni salad and the bunny was terrible. The salmon and the tuna in the bunny was unflavorful yet with the sauces that were dribbled on made it taste awful. I did happen to notice the owner or manager hovering around every so often and made the atmosphere unwelcoming. Unfortunately, I would not be coming back here for Japanese food
Thai Fresh 2
1550 E H St STE B, Chula Vista, CA 91913, United States
During my first visit, I was thoroughly impressed and know that it wont be my last. Every dish we ordered was not only delicious, but the service was exceptionally friendly. Despite asking numerous questions, the staff member was incredibly kind and provided us with all the information we needed. We savored the panang curry, mango curry, Tom Yum soup, and pork belly fried rice. Let me tell you, the pork belly was cooked to perfection—not too crispy, yet delightfully tender. The curries were absolutely divine, and the sweet tangy taste of the mango was a delightful addition. The soup was incredibly flavorful, and even the white rice was cooked with a delightful texture. Im already craving to return and sample more items from the menu. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting as you certainly wont be disappointed.
Yingli Restaurant Chula Vista
1660 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91911, United States
I used to eat at the restaurant in San Ysidro for years. I considered this one of the best tasting and cost effective Chinese food places out there. I ordered food for my staff one day and unfortunately there were roaches in the tofu dish. The food may be great tasting but not clean. Sorry true story. Haven’t ate here since.
