Lams is our go to for local, comfort Chinese food. Dishes are delicious and prepared with quality ingredients, May is super-friendly, and theyll use paper containers if you ask. Our favorites: salt and pepper chicken, short ribs, shrimp chow mein and Wor wonton soup. Now Im hungry!
Ordered two lunch specials and fried prawns. Stir-fry tasted really good and seemed fresher compared to other Chinese restaurants. Prawns were perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. Will definitely come back when we are at Mill Valley area.
Not only is the food amazing! It has no MSG and the customer service is amazing! Mei who works at the front desk remembers everything and is the nicest person I’ve ever met!
I love, love this place. The food is yummy, and May at the front is awesome. She recognizes my voice on the phone, and knows my order before I do! I love little things like this, really gives it a small town bonus feeling.
May is a wonderful woman, the food is always fresh and hot, and the service is quick and easy. Lam’s kitchen deserves the recognition it receives, everyone who works there is hardworking and dedicated. You’ll have to cross a bridge to get better Chinese food!
I love Lams. I have lunch here at least twice a week. The food is delicious, fresh, and inexpensive. Its a family-run business and they make a point of knowing their good customers names and their preferences. The kitchen is squeaky clean. The decor makes it a place that youre not going to seek out for date night, but if you want tasty, no-frills Chinese food you wont be disappointed. Weekday lunch is their busy time when it seems like every construction trade worker in Marin descends at the same time. Favorites include the wah wonton soup, green bean prawns, mu shu anything, and spicy eggplant chicken.
Absolutely delicious chinese food. Ive ordered lunch from here several times and its always been the best and very reasonable in price!Their hot and sour soup is delicious, chow mein is so tasty (not overly prepared with oil), and their spicy green beans and salt and pepper tofu are delicious! Ive also had their sizzling rice soup when Ive been sick and its full of yummy veggies and the broth was delicious.I wish I lived here in MV but I fear Id be eating here everyday !!
Fresh, YUMMY, well cooked food; friendly owners; decent price, good quantity servings. Willing to make anything vegan. Been coming here at least once a week (most times 2x/week) for years.
I tried the kung pao prawns here and they were good. I dont normally choose them at fast food Chinese places but I took a change. Nice job, tasted fresh.
Super tasty and healthy food, including lots of quality veggies. Always get our Saturday dinners here. Lucky to have such a good spot so close to home!
Nice staff, good food! Asked if it was possible to get vegetarian sesame chicken (not on the menu), they accommodated and it was one of the best Ive had.
Tasty basic chinese fare. New hours (close 8ish) and no more delivery make it pretty hard for me. but nice to have some homestyle food in MV. I still go for pickup and theyre quick to whip up an order (5-10 minutes).

Kind of a dump. The food is not good. The meat was soft and squishy. I wonder if it was even real meat. With other good dining options in Mill Valley this is one to avoid.

2021-11-26 18:51:53Lams kitchen is our absolute favorite restaurant in Mill Valley. Mae is the sweetest person ever and you can taste the love and kindness in the food. Im a vegetarian and she is always so helpful in either altering a dish to fit my needs or recommending a different one that she thinks I will like. Her husband, the chef, never disappoints as Ive never not liked something from his kitchen. Im pretty sure Ive tried just about everything vegetarian on the menu at this point and its all delicious. My boyfriend, Bobby, is not a vegetarian. He always orders the orange chicken or the general Tsos chicken and the chow mein. Mae will also recommend things for him as well if he needs a change. Seriously, best Chinese food in the area. Go here if youd like good food, a friendly atmosphere, and to support a small business as its just Mae and her husband.
