Lao Ma Tou Hot Pot - Irvine in Irvine

Our experience here was amazing. Everything was fast and tasty. We were in this place for the first time and young active waiters helped us to make a good sauce and explained how this kitchen works. We went out full and absolutely happy 🤤 Thank you guys, we’ll definitely come back!

This hot pot restaurant was really good. There are plenty of different ingredients to choose from. You can choose how spicy you want your soup base and it can get very spicy. Plenty of dipping sauce options too. Overall well worth the price as table service was good and helpful.

Have been here many times!! Really authentic flavor and friendly service!! Beside the hotpot, the fried rice and rice cake is surprisingly good. Hands down best hotpot in Irvine.

The variety is rich, the price is affordable, the waiter is warm and thoughtful, and the amount of dishes is very large! Adequate parking spaces are free! Highly recommended! I will come again next time!

My fiancé and I have been here several times and its always a wonderful experience. The servers are fast, attentive, but most of all welcoming and warm. They are thoughtful and always grab things for you even before you ask (clean plates, aprons, water). As someone who is not Asian but eats hot pot regularly since its one of my favorite foods, there was a point when I needed guidance on what to order and which sauce goes good with what (one of my close friends is Chinese and she taught me) and this place is the best for that. I saw other non-Asian couples here and the servers were teaching them how to mix the sauces and guiding them through the different broth options. Ive been to many hot pot restaurants and the food has always been good but this place takes prize for checking off every box. Super high quality items, all delicious!What we usually order:- Mala spicy broth level 5 (I dont recommend this level of spicy unless you have super high tolerance) OR regular bone Broth if were eating here with someone whi doesnt like spice.- Any of the beef cuts are good- Pork belly- Shrimp balls- Lamb- Quail eggs (MUST)- Tofu skin or bean curd- Hot pot noodle- Enoki mushroom- Lotus root- Rice, for those who dont like noodles

Another favorite hotpot just opened in Irvine, so I wont have to drive far anymore.This restaurant is still in its early stages, but everything has gone well so far. The food is delicious and fresh, and of high quality.All of the waiters and waitresses were extremely friendly and helpful.They kept cleaning the bar sauce to make it look clean and shiny, and they kept coming over to my table to check on the broth and make sure we had everything we needed.Keep it up, guys, and hopefully youll all do the same in the future.

This is a great place to eat good hotpot with friends and family. The bar is small and a bit crowded at times but the service and food options are very good. The bone soup base is very tasty made like those old Chinese bone broths I used to have at my parents house. The tomato soup is very rich and concentrated. The dried pork is a must get. Definitely give it a try if you are in Irvine.

Really nice hot pot. We like the soup and meat/ meat ball. Kids like the noodles and egg dumplings boiled in non spicy hot pot.Must have sesame source with Satay source. This is my personal preference.

We ordered medium spicy hot pot with beef&lamb combo, it is so delicious. The service is also good and fast.

Great service, food is only decent but way too expensive. We were not even full and each paid $62 (including tax and tip). Wont come back
