2023-12-07 20:36:01I recently had the opportunity to dine at Lobster West while in town for a conference. The restaurant’s convenient location and the option for outside seating added to the overall pleasant dining experience. The highlight of my meal was the delicious lobster roll, paired perfectly with their rich and flavorful clam chowder. It was a delightful discovery, and I’m truly grateful that I found this gem. I highly recommend Lobster West to anyone looking for a great seafood experience.

2023-10-28 02:02:57So good!! Sampled all 3 types (lobster roll, crab roll, shrimp roll) and was surprised I loved them all. Personally, I think Standard meat is plenty - no need to add extra portions.

2023-05-06 04:05:28I had a great experience here today. So much so I will be back to try some more menu options.I had the lobster roll and very much enjoyed it. The bread on a sandwich can be make or break and in this case the toasted butter bread made it! I would recommend a few sides or a soup as the sandwich was on the smaller side, but it depends on appetite. It is an expensive sandwich, but it is La Jolla and this should be expected, I didnt feel ripped off.The staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Thanks again,Andy

2023-09-10 00:13:11Everything was phenomenal, definitely worth the price! I’d come here many more times. I got the crab roll with a side of beans and I shared the soup sampler w my husband. The lobster bisque and chowder are amazing!

2023-09-11 03:02:03As someone born and raised in New England, I’ve learned that the west coast cannot figure out the art of a lobster roll and I unfortunately have to say that Lobster West is on the list.I ordered the Classic Lobster roll for $22. They don’t describe on the menu if they’ll be making it Maine or Connecticut style. The lobster was cold (Maine style) but was in just butter (CT style), so it was a weird mix of styles - Maine style is supposed to be in mayonnaise rather than butter and CT style the meat should be warm. If you don’t have a preference, then maybe you won’t care about this. & the bun was nicely buttered and warm! My friend ordered the “boss” roll which is supposed to have 50% more lobster meat, it honestly didn’t look like she had any more lobster on hers than I did (which wasn’t a lot). They put the lobster almost on top of the bun to make it appear like there’s more, so you have to actually push the meat into the bun.I had high expectations for this place based on reviews so I was disappointed. On the brighter side - the employees were very nice and the service was quick!

2023-04-23 22:20:24It’s a well placed restaurant with a very pleasant eating environment. It doesn’t feel like anyone is sitting on top of you although the space is small. The service was absolutely amazing. The clam chowder I thought was good. Wasn’t the best I’ve had but definitely not the worse either. The lobster roll is done traditionally and i do concur with some of the reviews regarding the crab being chewy. However, it wasn’t soo bad that we couldn’t enjoy our food. It is pretty expensive but even in Maine/ New England Area lobster rolls are $30+. I’ll recommend others try it, but personally, I won’t be back.

2023-05-30 03:15:43The food was great, however, there is extremely limited seating, and it does take a while for the food to come. We got a combo northeastern for two people, where we got to try lobster, shrimp and crab. They were all good, however, to be honest the butter on the bread, overpowered all of the sandwiches and made them taste the same. We still enjoyed it however would probably try another place next time.

2023-07-24 00:25:51The interior was small, there are plenty of tables on the sidewalk. And the lobster roll was excellent! Light bread with just the right amount of butter and tender lobster. The coleslaw was bland, and the beans tasted canned. I ate them both anyway. As the coleslaw was refreshing and the beans were still good. I would eat at one again.

2023-06-12 20:17:34Very good lobsters rolls here. A little pricey but I know seafood prices have shot up. I got the lobster bisque and dipped my roll in there. That was amazing. The girl at the front was very friendly. Overall great experience
