The food was really good! The presentation was great! I definitely recommend this place.We got the spicy sesame chicken, which comes with rice, salad, and Gyoza. I also got the dinner combo, which comes with your choice of meat (we got steak), white rice, salad, and your choice of sushi! Sushi we got was califonia rolls and the crunch shrimp rolls.

Food was okay, we were Seated quickly but waited for a while before someone came and took our drink order. Then when Food came out we had to ask to fix because was not made to the menu. She then said we would be charged extra. After looking at the menu the sushi was fixed. No refills on drunks were even asked. Then look over 10 min just to get the bill. Couldnt figure it out and asked for help but other employees couldnt help her figure out how to take items off bill that were not ours. We will not be going here again.

Its okay. Plenty of parking. This was our last night in Oceanside and headed home to Hawaii the following day. We love sushi and sashimi and eat it often in Hawaii. I have also recently traveled to Japan and ate sushi and sashimi and ramen like everyday while there.All my experiences in comparison to this place, this place is okay. Ive had okay places like this in Texas and Arizona. The fish looked/tasted like either fresh or previously frozen fish. We thought Oceanside would have some freshness to their seafood, which wasnt through and through to each dish we ordered but varied. The tempura was salty, like grounded salt was sprinkled over after it came out of the fryer.The servers were nice, polite, and friendly, but after receiving our food they hardly stopped by, even just to check to refill our cups of water. They would do it after we stopped them and asked.The atmosphere is okay, kind of dark in there. There is a tv that is on to watch and music that is played, not connected to each other.There is a lot on the menu. Id suggest they use more accurate terms such as sashimi, nigirizushi, sushi roll (makizushi), gunkan sushi, and handroll (temaki) to distinguish the different types/styles of sushi on their menu with a picture reference for one or two items. This would help your less experienced customers and maybe be more enticing for they to try.

The summer roll is a roll with no rice, just 2 types of fish and crab surrounded by cucumbers rings, with 2 sauces and ginger. It is one of the best rolls Ive ever had! So fresh!

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was in Highschool. Were talking about over 15 years of quality food and great atmosphere. I have so many memories and laughs from this place. Love their Mexican, Sunshine, Geisha, Heartattack, and Lollipop rolls. Hands down my favorite sushi spot in Oceanside. Always make a trip when Im back in town.

Food is consistent at this location, smaller compared to San Marcos location. Ordered online ETA was 30-40 minutes. 15 minutes elapsed before they confirmed the order. So that will delay and extend the time for pick up. Most places automatically confirm or confirm within 5 minutes. Be weary of the slower service online.

Imbalanced fish to rice ratio. The tuna paste in my Tuna Roll was the size of a half dollar. The eel on my dragon roll was uncharacteristically thick and tasted like the harbor. Heard good things about this place, not sure if it was just an off night.

Love Boat Sushi has really delicious Japanese food.I placed my order on Yelp online delivery order service through the Grubhub delivery service yesterday for my lunch. My order was the 1 Chicken Teriyaki Lunch with white rice and black sesame seeds sprinkled on top of the rice, tender grilled Chicken Teriyaki, the sweet sauce has the perfect consistency and complimented the grilled Chicken iunderneath a bed of crispy vegetables that were seasoned with a sweet dressing, and 2 pieces of crispy golden brown gyoza filled with ground beef and shredded lettuce. The Chicken Teriyaki Lunch includes the Miso Soup and Mini Salad.For my Dessert I ordered the Mochi Ice Cream in the Mango flavor with whipped cream topping and Chocolate syrup. I received 2 quantity of the tart and delicious Mango flavored Mochi Ice Cream sndI added a scoop of whipped cream topping with theChocolate syrup.My Order total bill for the Chicken Teriyaki Lunch and the Mango Mochi Ice Cream was $24.82.To sum up my review in one word is DELICIOUS!I preferred to place my Food order through the online service method because it’s a time saver and very convenient for me. My husband and I love going here! Since I was a kid I never liked soft shell crabs, until my husband had me tried their PADRES roll! I tried the same stuff in other restaurants but theirs was the best! Our favoritrs are sashimi, agedashi tofu, padres roll, rainbow roll, rainbow spider and american. Friendly staff and chefs! What on earth is that fish puree thats in nearly every dish? Who thinks that putting fish in a blender before stuffing it into a bunch of rice makes a sushi roll? Gas station California rolls are better than whatever it is they serve here.Atmosphere is annoying. Not sure you could actually call this sushi. Fish was processed in most of the rolls, like ground fish and only took a few minutes to make all of our rolls. Also taste was very sweet, even on the spicy rolls.

Dont go here if you are vegetarian or vegan. This is the type of place that will charge you extra for taking fish off of a dish and theres only one vegetarian roll on the menu that is not great. They also charge you for Sriracha and wont bring wasabi and ginger unless you specifically asked for it. There was also a sewage link leak so that was pretty stinky to sit through dinner, we wont be back.

I’ve been ordering things for delivery the last month or so and I’m not sure if they have new staff but the sushi rolls haven’t been rolled properly. Everything falls apart. The first time it happened I thought it was a one time thing but now it’s my 3rd time. It’s annoying frankly. Look at my picture, it hasn’t even been touched yet.

The service here was absolutely amazing. They checked on us consistently but not an annoying amount. The food was fast and delicious. When its busy there can be a lot of people inside but they have an outside dining area and have the space setup in a way a lot of people can fit without feeling cramped.

The chili garlic edamame was well portioned and taste good. The vegetable tempura was stingy but was also good tasting. Cali Rolls were standard that you’ll find at most places. Their caterpillar roll had great eel sauce so probably the best thing I ordered. The reason for the three was the small amount of tempura and I did not get any soy sauce or utensils. Hard to enjoy those rolls without soy sauce so overall I am dissatisfied with the service. I would recommend not getting delivery but maybe takeout so you can check the order.

Best fusion sushi you’re going to find in north county. We can always rely on fresh fish and good clean cuts for sushi. I recommend all of their rolls but specifically their surf and turf. I’m always trying new sushi around San Diego that provides good clean fresh fish and find myself constantly using this Love boat as my mark to beat. It’s definitely a struggle to find better sushi in this area. I challenge you to find better! You won’t! This place is that good!

I go here frequently as the food is normally delicious. However, the rice was terrible today. It was very wet or perhaps a different type of rice. Either way, it tasted like paste. Very disappointed. Hopefully it will be better next time.

The staff is great, management not so much! as a worker in the food industry, you have to treat your employees with respect! its absolutely unacceptable for customers to hear you shouting at the poor employees to do tasks that seem like busy-work. dont be so condescending to your employees. its no wonder that i find a new server working there every time i dine at loveboat. management drives them away! its so uncomfortable hearing the managers barking out orders when im trying to enjoy my dinner with my boyfriend. big thumbs down.

Great, friendly service for a weekday lunch with a friend. We ordered two lunch combos. We both got mixed tempura. I also got teriyaki salmon, and my friend ordered teriyaki steak. The food was fine as expected. Having a Japanese background whose mom was a chef of Japanese cuisine, a four star rating is generous. I’m used to jumbo-sized shrimp, fish tempura, and a variety of vegetable tempura. Lol. Seriously, the lunch was fine. I’d come again. One more thing! I had no internet service there.

I went there for around noon and ordered a combo lunch. It was not busy and it took what seemed an unusually long time until the food arrived. I wasnt brought the tempura sauce thinking they would bring it separately and had to finally ask a waiter. When I signed the receipt at the register the waiter left without giving me a receipt. Then a waitress came to the register and I asked her if that was my receipt in the machine. With a very rude look she pulled my receipt out and handed it to me. The food was very good but the staffs manner was not one i would want to experience again.

2 Stars only because the waitress and buss boys are really sweet.I should have known better to eat here after reading a review stating that they had seen cockroaches near the bar.The food is sub par, the only really good dish was the agedashi tofu. We ordered several special rolls. The yellow tail and the edamame both were... gelatinous? 🤢I didnt eat much but Im hella sick today.The set up is terrible - the front door is clogged with people getting take out orders to the point where they cant attend to the patrons waiting to eat in the restaurant.This is a real suburban situation. The food is legit bad. 10/10 do not recommend you eat here.Thanks to the wait staff though, they were very nice.They did shut off the lights and do a really cute birthday celebration for a couple of kids, it was really sweet. Oh boy. Nice atmosphere, nice staff I will admit that. Artificial crab meat is the go to overpriced substance for this place. The avocado you get in your roll is just a smear of purée just so they can put a check in the box. Ordered crab wontons for 8 bucks that was a smear or cream cheese and cold fake crab in a pinched wonton. Plate presentation was good but I got served a pile of waste meat over rolls that fell apart. To put things into perspective this is the first review on Google I’ve ever done. Go next door and get Indian food at the turmeric hut. Should have went to Taco Bell.

Guarantee I left a very decent tip but I would really like the server to know it was nothing to do with good service and only to do with the fact that I didnt know the actual total to my bill and wanted to make sure I was definitely over. He walked by me so many times and never even once asked if I needed anything else or literally anything ever. Pretty terrible. Wish I actually did know my total so that I could leave less tip. Guess you lucked out this time but hopefully get a different server next time 🤞 good job capitalizing on someone saying theyre in a hurry, I guess thats one way to do it 🙄

The miso soup was excellent and I enjoyed the sushi. The steak teriyaki was over cooked and surprisingly flavorless. The music was uncomfortably loud. Given that there wasnt a significant lunch crowd, it was unnecessary.

Ive been eating here since the day they opened. What a disappointment. I was sitting at the bar today waiting on my sushi and I killed 3 baby cockroaches. On the bar wall. One of them tried to climb in my edimame. I feel bad for the guests who are sitting at the tables and have no clue there is an infestation. In the past we loved this place, but two times in a row we have not been able to dine or order food even when they were not busy. We showed up and there were only two customers inside dining and the bar as well as all other tables were empty and clean, but no guests. We were told we would have to be put on a waiting list and it was about a 20 to 30 minute wait. The time before we called to order food to pick up and were told it would be an hour and they didnt seem to want to take our order. When I picked up the order, there were not many customers there so I dont understand why they dont want the business. Also, the rolls were half the size of what they used to be in previous visits but cost the same. We found another sushi place and wont be returning.

Tl;dr The food is alright but they haven’t figured out how to get the items right for pickup, which has unfortunately made for multiple bad experiences.We used to love dining in at Love Boat years ago before we moved out of state. We just moved back and this is the 2nd time they’ve given us incorrect entrees in our pickup orders. We could check more thoroughly, but we usually trust that we’re given the correct items, and once we’re home and settled and pull out the food we don’t want to have to go back out again. We gave it a pass the first time but we’ll be going elsewhere now that it happened again.

My family has been coming to this restaurant for the last 7 yrs. We were there when you were able to fill out the sheets and hand it directly to your favorite chef. Slowly but surely things started to slow down. Fast forward to today and it will be the last time we eat there. Our orders are usually between 100-200 each time. Little by little they mess up on minor things. Today something was off. The seaweed tasted rancid. I called and of course a young girl answered and basically cant do anything because shes not management. I waited on the manager who after about 5 mins of waiting was on break. I left my number for a call back and nothing. No help, no apology and no call back. Customer service lacks. If an order is wrong, get it fixed on the spot. The photo shows weve been making online orders since 2015. Not including in store visits.

Our favorite sushi restaurant. Their food is AWESOME! My wifey and I have been going here for over 11 years because the food is great. However, last night it was even better thanks to EDUARDO our sushi chef. Came here for an impromptu date night. Waited about 20 minutes for a table on a weeknight after 7pm for two. Took another 10-15 to order and get the food. Garlic edamame is great. My man got the crunchy salmon roll which was great and the hot night. I got the albacore delight and dynamite roll. The dynamite roll was delicious but the albacore delight was soooo spicy like couldnt even eat it. Overall, so so experience. I didnt think it was pricey like some others have said on Yelp or here. But out of all the places to pick, this wouldnt be at the top of the list if Im being honest.

I enjoyed a meal with a friend this evening for the first time at this restaurant. Good atmosphere, service was prompt, friendly, and professional. Weve gone in here a few times, and as long as youre not in at a crowded dinner time the service is pretty quick. Even when the place was packed we were served pretty quickly, and our requests were all met accordingly. Birthdays are a huge deal, as previously mentioned. The food quality is pretty good, never had a problem, and there are a lot of options. Prices are decent, and decor is fun. We enjoy this place.

Beautiful but a bit too trendy which gives you a steep pricing incline to deal with. Prompt initial service, kind employees and a fun atmosphere, even if the food comes out slowly and at an uneven stagger.. but I get better sushi in landlocked states which seems unforgivable to me. The deep fried rolls were cooked way too long and ended up grossly fishy. The plating was beautiful in much the way you get at almost any sushi place. The tea was good. Unfortunately, my good experience was short lived as a slew of events while at the restaurant left a bitter taste in m mouth.My server was polite for the most part. She didn’t make recommendations and cut me off after I made my drink order to tend to another guest. I wanted to make my appetizer order with my drink order but I couldn’t even finish myself. “Gimmie a second, I’ll be right back” I understand it was busy, but if you’re tending to a guest at that moment, that person/family/party is your priority in that moment.After 5-7 minutes she came back with my drink which was a Nigori Sake and then, asked me what I wanted to order. To my dismay, the sake was not my taste, and I queried on options of exchanging the drink for something else. Per my server’s words, it could not be done, and even though I didn’t like it, I couldn’t exchange it, especially since I opened the bottle. I was only able to stomach one full o-choko. She offered to wrap it up so I could take it home, which was not the best offer to make since I did not like the drink I would not have a reason to want/need to drink it at home. There was no offer for a discount or to comp the beverage. I ordered another drink, paying the full price of both items. The peach sake was tasty and sweet.After my sushi rolls arrived, my server checked on my once. I noticed however that she was checking on nearby guests more frequently. On several occasions I needed more napkins or another straw, and she was nowhere to be found. I had to resort to calling out other servers, bussers, and luckily the host was walking around giving extra napkins. When I was done with my rolls I scanned the restaurant for my server, who finally caught my eye contact. But instead of asking me if there was anything I needed, she already had a closed bill and check ready for me, and gave it to me. By this time I was a little disgruntled by her lack of attention and sincerity towards me. I had to tell her that I was not ready for a check because I actually wanted to order some dessert. I shouldn’t have ordered dessert. That should have been my queue to leave. But I really wanted the full dining experience.The mochi ice-cream…The ice-cream itself was fantastic. Should it be called mochi? No. Mochi is known for its chewy rice “shell” on ice-cream that is sweet, chewy and delicious. At best, this “mochi” was just mango ice-cream coated in flour.After all this, and a wallet-gbusting bill, I am disappointed by the experience at Love Boat Sushi, and do not hold this establishment to high esteem.

The good news is that this place was super fast! I ordered online and arrived in less than 10 min and my food was at the front and ready. I have never left a $0 tip and walked out of a restaurant before tonight. The wife and i decided to try this location for the first time. Walked in thought we were lucky there were only five other tables then us. Right as we sat down a gentleman asked us for our drink order and a few moments later the sushi chef asked for our paper sheet filled out with only one roll as i was ordering a dinner entree. The chef looked over the paper and started making sushi, told me to ask the other waitress for the entree. Ok!. Well 10 minutes later i had to stop the waitress to ask to order my entree. She was very short and gone quick. About 10 minutes later i got my food but no silverware, my lemonade was out and no offer to refill. Had to stop her again for a refill. Remind everyone there was only six tables in this place. Not busy! Another 10 to 15 minutes later as this chef is still standing in the same place he was after reading our menu and still making sushi. I figured this roll was really hard to make or something. So i asked and he looks at the paper and goes o sorry i forgot. At this point i was done with my food and my wife was starving. I then walked up to the front counter asking complaining to the staff about the service. After i was done talking i was presented with a bill minus the forgotten roll. I guarantee i will never be visiting again.PS: the other location does this strobe light signing thing with the staff. My epileptic friend i was with had to run out the restaurant. The roles are huge and filled with either imitation crab or some other junk besides the sushi that youre there to eat. We sat at the sushi bar, and the sushi chef was really rude. The food is okay, the prices are high. I wont be back
