My husband loves thier beef pho soup and I usually get the rice and grilled chicken plate. It comes with a spring roll and some salad. I love the chicken sandwich with jalapenos. Its so good

I ordered the spicy garlic chicken noodles and my friend ordered the traditional pho...The spicy garlic noodles were a bit underwhelming. The noodles were soft, broken, wet, and overcooked. On top of that, they weren’t spicy or garlic-y. The chicken was alright. It was a little crispy and kinda tasted like lightly glazed orange chicken.The pho broth was bland and lukewarm, despite coming out several minutes after the garlic noodles.The Vietnamese coffee was good. My friend wanted it black but his request was denied because the coffee is premade.
We liked this spot. In between a lot of options. No wait at lunch time on Saturday. The pho was flavorful. Small portion of sprouts and basil so there was no waste which we liked. The noodles were firm and the proteins cooked well. We also had the match coconut tea-pretty good. We don’t live around here but would return if we did. Parking is difficult.
I had heard about this place a lot and I had quite some expectations but unfortunately the expectations werent met for me I ordered a spicy garlic fried noodles and egg rolls the chicken was little chewy and the egg roll was little bland. The ambience was nice next time I will probably try pho.
The service was excellent. The pho was everything that I expect from good pho. The broth was hot and flavorful. The beef was tender and came with lime, been sprouts, basil & slices of jalapenos on the side. My wife had the Ban MI grilled pork sandwich. The sandwich was over filled with delicious grilled pork with pickled carrots and daikon (Japanese radish) on the bottom. The prices were reasonable.
First of all, I would give them 10 stars if I could. I normally have ordered from Mama Hongs before via DoorDash and it was pretty good. But today, I was in the area and decided to stop by to finally taste their food fresh. It was everything I knew it was and more. I ordered the same items off their menu as I have before but this time it was a thousand times better because it didnt take a long time to receive it. I ordered the filet mignon pho with extra onions and extra extra limes. Oh my goodness I loved loved loved it!!! I also ordered the grilled rib eye spring rolls with peanut sauce and it was just super delicious. I loved everything I ate and I did not have any leftovers. It was just too good!!! But above all, what I really really loved was how friendly the staff was during my visit. My server Nick was just super friendly and attentive. Him and the rest of the staff came by the tables quite often asking how everything was and if I, or others at other tables, needed anything. Just an all around pleasant 1st experience dining in. I live far away from Mama Hongs but now that I know how good the food is especially served there (dining in instead of delivery), I will be back as often as I possibly can. Its been hours since I had lunch there but I am still thinking about how was so darn good. 10 stars!!!! :-)
The food was delicious and so good. We had the Chicken Fried rice for all of us to share. So tasty. My son had the Ox Tail Pho and he couldnt stop raving about it. I had the Traditional Pho and it was so rich and satisfying. I took home about a third of it. My mother got the Chicken Breast Pho and was very happy with it.
The amount of fat I got in my pho made me want to gag the photo only shows the top of what I received. Other then all the meat being fat the broth was great but when I order steak I would hope to get some meat
On the evening of Juneteenth I had an unpleasant experience at this restaurant. It was my first visit, will definitely be the last and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Although the quality of food is rich in flavor, the customer service is poor and unappetizing. I waited for almost 45 minutes for a take-out order and when I brought it to Miguel’s (the cashier) attention, he was unhelpful and discourteous. This is unacceptable behavior. I hope you find my feedback invaluable and take actions to improve the level service you strive to provide.
I was super impressed with the stake and fries here! I brought a friend who never had Vietnamese food and she loved the bami sandwich and the fries. The meat was absolutely delicious and very flavorful. The funny thing is they dont have any dessert! Ive never been to a place that doesnt have dessert.
This is my all-time favorite pho place. We drove an hour to come here because we were craving it. The food is always consistent. The pho is delicious and the chicken spring rolls are amazing.

Loved the spicy tofu noodles (vegan)! Got them as takeout (twice) and came with so much tofu and broccoli, ie great amount for the price. Easily can be made into two meals.

Authentic, affordable Vietnamese food in the valley! We came in at around noon on a Saturday, and were seated immediately. Our server was really friendly, and helped us with any questions we had about the menu. I don’t frequent Burbank often, but would definitely come back to this location. Spicy garlic tofu noodles and the pork sausage spring rolls (nem nuong cuon) were delicious!
Very nice and authentic Vietnamese pho noodle soup. Their pork chop rice is also very good and tasty. Serving size is a bit too big for me but worth the price you pay. Recommended.
It was really good. I ended up getting the moma Hong large pho with meat balls steak and brisket. I also ordered 2 egg rolls and a side of beef broth for my gf .. thank u everything tasted great and service was nice.

I love pho and this is my go-to place in Burbank to grab a bowl. Vegan option has lots of fresh veggies and comes with soft tofu. The large size is only an extra dollar. Restaurant is clean and open, and service is fast - so Ive never been disappointed. The back area where the restrooms are isnt as nice. This is the best pho Ive found in Burbank, but its far from the best pho Ive had - so four stars.
Wow, this used to be one of our go-to places. Its sad to see how bad they are now. 1st, we found a bug in our food. Luckily staff there was cool about it and made all the right attempts to rectify the problem. We ended up leaving immediately after our food arrived because of the bug situation, and we were not charged. 2nd, we were given papercups for our water. 3rd, the padding for our seat at our booth wasnt even connected and honestly could be deemed unsafe for elderly or children. Last, they close mid-day during lunch hours now and reopen a couple hours later. When we used to come here, the atmosphere was high-end and well taken care of, water came in glasses with ice, there were more tables and a line out the door to be seated, and the food didnt have dead bugs inside. A huge fall from grace and destined to be a vacant restaurant like the graffitid and boarded up windows neighbor that used to be Fuddruckers. Very sad.
It was my first time here during lunch and the food was delicious. I had a steak bahn mi sandwich and it was exactly what I was craving. Their pho and other fare is all a modern and upscale-feeling take on originals, but without the the upscale prices. Its great for a quick bite and the waitstaff was very nice.
Not to be picky or under rate due to busier than usual with events like endgame at the movie around the corner...so here I go. The bahn me sandwich was delicious. I can only suggest spreading the mayo on the bread and not just on the veggies. The traditional pork and shrimp wrap tasted like it had been sitting a while. Where traditional spring rolls are made to order. Again maybe they prepped up to anticipate heavy customer flow. Needless to say I will go back to explore other menu options so my rating could very easily go up. I dont see it dropping any lower and I probably should say it is a 4 star. But remembering what actual vietnamese food tastes like and freshness it has to be a 3.
Did not cook pho broth long enough and not sure if they even used bone in broth as it was super diluted. Tasted almost like just hot water. Went here because it was the only pho place around, but might as well be no place around. Not worth the price for the lack of attention and care put into making real pho.
This place was just ok. Decor and vibe are fine, and service was great. But the food was anything too write home about. Just middle of the road as far as flavor goes.

Mama hongs vietnamese kitchen is always a good experience the must try are the rib-eye spring rolls grab a plate and split them with your friends or have them to yourself but they are amazing . The pho is fresh and always good too though I love how you can get the mixed veggies on the side and make your soup into a massive bowl of good eats with heavy greens . The waiters are always nice and although it can get busy they always do a great job you have to hit this spot up if your ever in the burbank area

What the heck happened within a few months??!! Surprisingly disappointed. The staff here is absolutely wonderful, friendly and attentive. Throughout the years, this was the usually group lunch or dinner spot. Unfortunately it has declined in presentation, flavor, quality and quantity.We had the fried egg rolls, spring rolls, the Traditional Combo Pho and the Shaken Beef. The fried egg rolls were okay and not melt in your mouth delicious as before. The spring rolls were not appetizing. The sliver of meat in the rolls were dry as well as the shrimp, too. Definitely not fresh because it didnt taste or feel fresh. On some parts of the clear wrapper of the spring rolls, there were portions of the roll that were a little tough as if they were sitting under a heat lamp or in the window for a bit or the wrapper was a little too dry when rolling it causing the wrapper to be chewy. The lettuce on the inside of the rolls didnt look so great either.I honestly believe that our food was poorly made by ignorant chefs. By the way, I had the Shaken Beef Salad. If I were to make food at any restaurant, I would definitely not let anything slip by such as any little pieces of brown, wilted lettuce and leaving the butt end core of the lettuce in my salad (it was a huge piece that I found hidden underneath). Why would you even serve that? The salad dressing had no flavor at all. Looked amazing but had no flavor. It caught me by surprise that I had to let my husband try my salad. The beef and onions for my Shaken Beef were not seared. The beef was tough, over marinated and overpriced for the small amount I received. My beef tasted like it was cooked in too much liquid causing the meat not to be seared and chewy. What you see in the picture is what you get. No, theres not much underneath - just big chunks of onions. The little bowl of pho broth that comes with the dish tasted exactly like the powdered pho soup base you can purchase at the Ranch market. It was super salty and the broth did not have one drop of fat floating on top at all.Disappointing. Did they change the chefs or owners? What happened to quality of the food, too? They dont even care if the ingredients arent fresh and theyll still make your food! The whole meal left such a bad taste in our mouths that were never coming back. Oh, we sat in front of the register by the kitchen and were annoyed by all the gnats flying around us while we ate. Thats kind of gross if you think about it...
Pretty good. I got my fave noodle soup w meatballs here and so far its satisfying Here, the bean sprouts that they give is very small plate unlike regular Vietnamese restaurant which gives you almost triple the size. However I like the idea because it wont go to waste and you can always ask for more if you want. Place is clean and more modern compare to regular Vietnamese places. Will I come back? Yes.
Soup was great and full of flavor but the chicken wasn’t so good. A bit old and dry in the inside and don’t crispy for the outside.

Food was pretty good, they have a few vegan options, which is why I went. I asked our waiter which vegan dish was most popular and he said if youre a strict vegan to go with steamed tofu and NOT fried because the chefs use the same pan and oils the meat was cooked in to cook the tofu. Sadly that seems to be the case at many restaurants that arent 100% vegan. I wish owners would teach their staff and cooks/chefs to respect their customers more, being a vegan already has its stigma with some people and to not cook our food properly shows a level of disrespect for our choice to NOT consume animals! No point in having vegan options if youre not willing to be 100% vegan when cooking it. Also there was a family of like 12 behind us with a screaming child and the family didnt say a word and allowed the child to play and scream in my ear. Food was an 8 out of 10. More options with broth would have been nice. No tripe in the beef combo. No spicy. Service was great. Food came out really fast. Staff was very attentive. Clean place would recommend for sure.
The food was good; the service and Tea not so much. Upon arriving to the restaurant with my friend, we felt rush to order the food came in a timely manner we order appetizers and Tea but i honestly feel like the tea was like 6oz after all the ice the put. Letme just say that the glass was 65% ice and 35% tea. (On my pic you can see we order like five teas to get the food down since it was mostly ice)The waiter and waitress continue to interrupt our convo and i was annoyed by it. My personal opinion is if u need something you ask if not they should just let u enjoy ur food.I normally do not like to complaint but Im a firm believer of net promoter scores. Therefore i probably will not be coming to this place unless is a to-go order because the food was great but the service let a lil more to be desire.
Mama Hong probably stayed at home when we went. Food was on par with your mall food court taste. Granted we just had spring rolls and fried rice but seems like the cook almost forgot about our rice on the wok that half of the meat and peas were burnt. The other half was dry and frozen still. You can make the same at home with frozen peas and carrots from the grocery store which this one tasted like. The Sriracha wings were good but we still added more Sriracha (even my wife who doesnt like spicy had to add more). Not gonna come back. Ill just make it at home next time.
It was Meh. I would not go and order the same thing again. I got the vegan noodles with tofu and broccoli. My son got Momma Hongs special and he liked it. The portion was generous but it was lacking in flavor.
The staff is all really nice here and the food is awesome! So yummy and super filling. I always get the file mignon pho and cream cheese wontons. Will be back!
Weve been coming here for over 4 years. But recently, it feels like the owners of this restaurant must have lots of money to turn away customers the way they do.Their phone goes straight to fax on weekends. Or they disconnect the phone completely. They also disable online orders. And theyre closed during the week mid day, reopening at 4pm.We will look for a new place to patron.

They use to do this automatically back in JAN 2017. The luxury of this tea presentation, and fine milk-freshly-brewed-tea taste, coupled with the delicious food lead to my 5 star review.But as of August -- busy tables have had this fine restaurant revert to pre-mixing their tea, a great disappointment for me as it does make a difference. . I had to remove a star for the loss of this luxury. Thankfully - we can still request it to be served separately (and the foods still impeccable )..Youve never tasted TAI ICED TEA in L.A. - until you have it here. Most places in this city give you a sweetened already mixed version... blech.. This has actual tea, with the milk served separately if now asked for - hanging out on top for you to mix at whim. (SUGGESTION : first taste brown tea underneath before mixing - delicious.)WARNING : If youre a first timer with PHO, I suggest you ask how to put it together once served.. request fork if need. PHO is delicious -- if you put it together with all the trimmings, lime, sauces. . Sounds easy but might look daunting if never done before.The servers are really fast moving around here - !!! Might have to reach out to grab one if youre in a hurry, but theyre very accommodating, and excellent.Yummy yum yum..
I wasnt expecting an authentic Vietnamese food in the middle of Burbank, but I was wrong. :)One of the best actually.I only give 3 out of 5 for atmosphere because it feels too much like Noodle Planet that uses Big Boys old booths etc feel when this place has some parts that feels like its trying to build up the atmosphere (like kitchen area), but seating areas are gray booths with pretty blah table and decor, but with cool ceiling lighrs. I dont think it needs a lot of changes I just think its trying but then only did it half way.

Forget items in the order, food is sloppy, rude staff. My order was missing items they didnt even care, no apology, no attempt to make it right. DO NOT EAT HERE, theres way better places all over.
Due to the pandemic take out hasnt felt as good as dine in, but Mama Hongs take out containers help add this feel of elegance at home.
Havent been in a while and wont be going back again unfortunately. The vegetables were wilted and sad. They served drinks in disposable cups. Im not going to pay $30+ a person for such a sad experience. The music was punk rock from the 2000s. Not at all what it used to be.
I thought this place was really clean and the customer service was really great. However, I would only come back for the chicken pho I got the regular size and it was pretty small but I actually really enjoyed the size. I also got the garlic and thought they were just ok.
Excellent pho. Added veggies, and they were a great complement to the soup. Excellent flavor. Ate half, had the rest for lunch the next day and it was still delicious.

He approached my car asking for $10 fees; I parked adjacent to it for free instead. Plenty of parking inside building structure. Very near by all business
This food was amazing! The grilled meat was one of the best dishes Ive ever ate in my life, I usually say that, but that was something else I tell you that, even the rice it had some crazy Himalayan crystallized flavor that cant be explained. The Pho filet mignon looked pretty good too, and Im not much of a fan of fish but the spring rolls were looking pretty good too. You must come here, it is a long wait, but it sure is worth the wait.
If your in the mood for pho and are in the burbank area this place doesnt disappoint. I always order the Pho for my wife and the crispy spicy garlic tofu for myself.

Great menu, great flavor, lovely atmosphere ! Not sure if this is the only location but if you are in the mood for Vietnamese this is a must visit. Busy little place. People coming and going and considering they do NOT serve alcohol it says something about the food.

We just happened to be in the area and we stopped here. The broth isnt bad. We ordered a large and a regular size pho, and the regular size actually had more noodles than the large. Theres a decent amount of meat. Small dish of veggies for each bowl that is ordered, which is fine so theres less waste. About $13 a bowl.The service was my main gripe. I sat there for a while to get a glass of water, then to order, then to get the check, then to get charged... I made eye contact with lots of employees but they all were frantically running around. Mind you this place wasnt THAT busy, even during lunch. No waiter came for a while, not like any of the pho places in San Gabriel/El Monte that Im used to going to.
The soup has very little meat in it and lots of noddles in it the pho for $15 plus taxes are way too high for the food and drinks are overprices $6.50 for Thai tea,$4 for a can of soda is too much money for a can of soda and they dont have enough servers to serve everyone their food .They need to put more meat into the pho and less noodles,they need to lower the price of their drinks too expensive.
We arrived at 1:53 pm but the waiter said they do not take any dine in because they are understaffed. Google says they close at 2:30 pm. I guess they can close as early as they want. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The tradition of coming to Mama Hongs every Sunday started after a rigorous hike. The craving for a huge bowl of Pho was such that nothing else would satisfy my appetite, and so my boyfriend and I wandered into the nearest Vietnamese place, and several months later it has become the only restaurant in all of LA that we patronize repeatedly. Ive tried several places nearby because in my opinion, the worst mistake to make in dining is to not expand your options. But time and time again, we find ourselves coming back to Hongs after our Sunday hike, bringing more people each time to spread the gospel of good pho. We have tried about half the menu at this point and I can safely say that everything is great. But the pho, oh, the pho. Its rich, savory, the perfect level of sweetness and the right amount of garnishes. The noodles unravel in the water to reveal just how much value youre getting for your buck. We always have leftovers, and we always use the leftover soup to make more ramen. This is the place to be. Also dont skip out on the garlic tofu apps, theyre crunchy and divine.

Pretty good food. I really liked the Shaken beef fries. The Garlic tofu noodles was a little too sweet for our taste. The real problem was that they are not very gluten savvy: we told the waiter at the start that we were gluten sensitive. He knew the noodles needed to be rice, but he didnt think to tell us that another dish was thickened with wheat flour until we asked. We had to send two dishes back because of this. Usually Asian food is pretty gluten-safe, but not here. They did handle everything with grace. Modifying dishes so we could eat. For that I am very grateful. Price was not bad either.

We got to the place right at dinner hour and on a Saturday as well. The place was packed. We waited for 45min before being seated. Despite the long wait, the food was decent enough. The portion was amazingly generous. The restaurant atmosphere and surrounding shops are very lively. Taking the atmosphere and the plate portion in consideration, the price is amazingly cheap. Would highly recommend for out of town people who want a decent meal and lively walk around the block. All in one stop.

Pho was good but not great. Caveat that I did get my order to-go. The meat was already cooked instead raw like Im used to from other places, but perhaps they had to do that for a to-go order (Im from the east coast so maybe there are different food rules.) The staff was great. Helped me place a to-go order and provided a place to sit while I waited. 5 stars for the staff and atmosphere. Food was middle of the road.
The pho is pretty watered down compared to original pho. I didnt get my Boba drink and had to ask to get it again, also the Boba isnt anything like the picture they put. There also arent many condiments, only three sauces: hoisin, oyster, and Sriracha sauce. The Boba drink I also got was pretty watered down- I did get a mango black tea Boba but it tasted like black tea only but watered down and with Boba. The server also said they didnt have any slushy Boba drinks like what was advertised in the menu, so thats false advertising.

This spot disappointed. The food was alright at best. I had the traditional pho, size regular. For the cost of $10 there wasnt enough noodles. I also got the oxtail on the side and it was dry. The service is good, attentive and warm staff. But the food quality and price are mismatched.

The food is top quality and very delicious! As any other popular place during lunch time it gets very crowded and for a good reason. There might be a line of people waiting to be seated but it moves fairly fast at a reasonable rate. Everything from appetizers, drinks, soups and all items on the menu are good portions and well priced. I really like the spring rolls.As far as how the place looks, it has a very modern look. Overall... Great place to try and frequent.
I have been here numerous times, and the food never fails to satisfy and please my taste buds. Their pho is tasty, the spicy garlic chicken or tofu is always delicious. Their beef stew is amazing. To top it all off the prices are reasonable and there is no pretentious atmosphere here.

Just had our first lunch here. Good menu. And the food was great. We did the appetizer trio, pho, and the shaken beef. Everything was great and there was a lot of it. Service was a little slow, but no worries on a Sunday afternoon. Well come back.
This place is amazing. Seriously. I wish I could cook my chicken like they do, its so dang good! I usually only get the rice dish or vermacelli but both are beyond amazing for their price. Hot Jasmine tea is also really nice on a cold day! I think Ill try curry next time.
Great pho and super delicious tea! May have to wait for a short bit as they can get pretty busy but I think its worth it. Our server was either new or is just bad at his job, had to wait a bit for our check. Everyone else working was on point though so I wouldnt knock the place down for one person.
Great food for an amazing price. Ordered the chicken breast pho with the regular size and it phenomenal. The food is heavily dependant on choosing the tastes you prefer through additions to the broth with veggies, herbs, and sauces. Just try not to eat a pepper slice whole!
Really tasty pho and pork chop over rice. Great service. These guys hustle to keep up with orders and get food out quickly. My pho came out room temp instead of hot and when I asked them to reheat it they made me a fresh new batch instead and apologized profusely. If you get it to go there are some small tables and chairs outside to eat. I’ll be back next time I need some great Vietnamese in Burbank.
I entered our name in their waiting list & waited for 30 minutes until I saw them allowing newly arrived clients sit on a table without having a reservation .Basically, dishonored their own waiting list. Left this restaurant right afterwards.
Came on Saturday for dinner it was a bit busy. Supposedly wait 10-20min but for us it took 30-40mins because we have party of 6. After us there was 4-5 group and they got seated first. I understand party of 2 or 3 got seated first but its absurd that we got there early and we were the last one got seated. And we have 2 kids starving. I wanted to leave the restaurant but since I waited already and I want to know why my sister likes this place.Food: it was okay, price is about right for the quality of the food you’re getting. Portion is big.Spicy garlic chicken noodles is good but its like Panda express. The garlic chicken literally taste like orange chicken from Panda express; its like you order chow mein with orange chicken. I notice on the noodle soup they’re not stingy giving meat, it has more meat than noodles, which made your money worth. Overall, it doesn’t taste authentic Vietnamese food and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.Service is horrible. The receptionist doesn’t know how to welcome people coming and she’s very confusing. She asked us to sit on one of the table that is vacant they and two minutes later she asked to stand again on the entrance. Our server is nice but not easy to approach.Restroom is very dirty and smells like sewer, I couldn’t breathe because I was holding my breath I can’t stand the smell.
Great place in a nice part of Burbank with very reasonable prices.I love their chicken pad thai and my friends tried their combo bowls which they really enjoyed. I also had steamed veggies and spring rolls which taste really nice, light, warm, and healthy!

The service was adequate. No attempt to make you feel welcomed. Waitress only checked in once during the meal. It was busy so i think they just wanted us to eat and get out. Why the 5 stars? The food was delicious.
This place is fantastic. I love Vietnamese food, so I have had plenty of it around the Glendale/Burbank area and this place is thus far the best Ive had. Their vermicelli bun is great. The banh mi is delightful. Their Vietnamese ice tea is great. All in all, a great stop for some solid Vietnamese food. The location itself is very inviting. Modern but not pretentious, and the staff is friendly.
The food was great my husband and I had shrimp spring rolls. I got the fried rice and chicken. My husband got the pork sandwich. Both dishes were really good. They have a good variety to choose from in the menu
Vey impolite and rude customer service. We were not allowed to be on the waiting list even though there were empty tables and a few tables were also leaving, and when we asked politely if they can accommodate us as our children were very hungry and tired, the manager still refuse to help us. I would’nt recommend this place and come back again!
Ordered through Postmates, delivered half hour after pickup. Super mediocre for $50, best thing was the egg roll. Garlic chicken was tough and over cooked, chewed and chewed. Filet was more like a sirloin, sadly. May try the Bahn Mi out of boredom next time but no more $18 entrees with rice, hot lettuce and ehh meat quality. I called once told the order was picked up and was set to deliver 35min later, and the restaurant said they had no record of my order. Wow.. 👎
Quick, friendly service. My friends ordered the ribeye pho and the shaken tenderloin respectively. I ordered the ribeye and vermicelli bowl with the honey ginger iced tea. Never had honey ginger iced tea, was very delicious, with the honey and ginger playing off each other. The food came very quick and was hot and delicious. Nice flavors, my steak was thinly sliced, sweet but not too sweet. My pasta was cool (was it supposed to be?) and it had lettuce and a few vegetables. Delicious and a good value.
With plenty of amazing options, Mama Hongs is slowly becoming one of my LA favorites. Feels like youre having upscale cuisine in a nice sit down atmosphere but is much more affordable than all of the upscale places around it. Try the Sriracha Hot Wings and the Pork Sausage Spring Rolls for starters with some of their Lemon Grass Ginger Hot Tea (perfect for a rainy day). All of their entrees are great but lately Ive been living for their Thang Long Fish Soup. Ive never had any problems with the service, and its the perfect spot to end up after going to the movies.
This was the 2nd time we ate here when we go to Burbank and always had a good experience for the tasty food. Its a good price, good portion, good service and good food. We always got the combination grill meat (rib eye steak). Well come back again!
Save yourself the time and money and go get some cup of noodles instead. As someone who has had pho in multiple cities and multiple states, I know what good pho is. Dont judge by the good looking pictures in other reviews, as I made the mistake of doing, this place was the worst Ive had. The noodles were all stuck together, making it quite difficult to eat (even with the chopstick skills I have), and were mushy in texture. The broth was bland and most of all, the ingredients, such as the meat, was dry and tasted as if previously frozen. Not that it should matter too much if one knows what they are doing, but I didnt see one Asian person in the place, including the cooks in the back. Perhaps Vietnamese traditional cooking, if ever at all, fell by the wayside at this place.The service was bad as well. I was asked what I wanted, they delivered, and didnt come back at all until the check came, which was brought to me before I was even half way finished! Come on..But hey, the ice water wasnt bad..
Very good pho. Service for dine in and take out is excellent and quick. Their take out has changed, though. They used to package the protein separately, sometimes even raw, with the intent that the broth cooks it. Now, the protein is cooked and placed with the rice noodles in a bowl. It felt like the protein was a little less than before.
Delicious! Ask Vaughn to be your server. He is excellent, very friendly and attentive. Service makes all the difference for me. My husband and I came here for lunch and ordered the pho seafood and shrimp fried rise. Some of the tastiest shrimp Ive had. Tip on a great drink here: if you mix Oolong, thai iced tea and coffee (one 3rd each) your drink will be amazing!!!
This is NOT a sexy restaurant. But the food is VERY good, decently priced and comes out super fast. Im not a pho expert but Ive had several different dishes and enjoyed them all. Also great for take out - the quality doesnt drop like some restaurants.
Pretty good about getting you seated quickly and getting your order in if you are here for your lunch break. I havent had a chance to explore a lot of their menu but the pork lunch special I had was quite good. I preferred it with rice vs noodles.
So I stop in here every now and then to get my Vietnamese chow. Never disappointed. Seating and service is fast. Vietnamese iced coffee is rich and strong. The beef salad and turmeric fish salad are excellent choices. We had the garlic tofu as a starter. Tasty, crispy, and creamy all at the same time. You can go Paleo her, vegan here, or omnivore. All your bases covered. Score!
This is probably my favorite pho in LA so far. The broth has good flavor, and maybe a little more star anise than most places. For $1 extra you can upgrade to sliced fillet minion, and its worth it, since the fillet is noticeably higher in quality than the normal rare steak.
Im glad my sister recommend this place to us. We live in San Francisco and have our favorite places in the city. Mama Hongs is delicious. Pho is tasty and their ribeye spring roll is yummy!!! Prices are reasonable. Honestly, my first impression of this place was that it would be expensive. Nope. Not the case at all. Prices are reasonable and a nearby parking lot makes this our go to place for Vietnamese the next time we are back in Burbank.
We ordered a chicken pho and curry to go and called immediately when we got home. The curry was not even half full and the pho had minimal broth. We have never had problems dining in, but the first take out order was horrible! I called and spoke to the manager and all he had to offer was that they weighed the good. Seriously? No! In store we would have had double the amount. Very disappointed with this place!
Our family of 4 in the area for the Universe Studios. We are 2,700 miles from here. Found it on Google map. The foods is great. The place is clean and the service is excellent. The price is decent. Love the location.

I definitely recommend this place! Everything on the menu is great! But you gotta try the Pho, of course, and anything with their spicy garlic chicken.... (Note to Mama : please bring back the lemongrass tea!)
I like their pho here at Mama Hongs. Its simple, but filling. It doesnt have the complexity in broth as most places in the Westminster area, but since were in Burbank, you cant be too picky. The simplicity actually makes the broth feel and taste healthier since theres not a lot of oil/fats. When its cold outside, you can most definitely see more of a wait here, but its usually not too crowded.

This place HAD me at non-dairy thai milk tea, but then I went on to try their chicken curry and banh mi sandwiches and I was hooked. Mama Hong’s became one of my favorite Asian places in Burbank. Affordable prices, cute interior, delicious food. You won’t be sorry! Try them out!
A million restaurants in this area and we came here two nights in a row. The grilled ribeye is awesome. Lots of fresh veggies in the vermicelli bowl. They were busy but food came fast.
I should start off by saying that the service was EXCELLENT! We were on a waiting list and as our turn came, we asked the manager (who was in charge of seating everyone) if there were any booths available to sit at. He apologized and said no, and we sat at one of the other tables. After we ordered our food and 10 minutes went by, he came by our table and informed us that there was a booth available to sit at. Now bear in mind that there were a lot of parties behind us waiting to be seated, and we only had 2 people in our party. The fact that he came to us FIRST because we had originally requested a booth is just awesome. Now, on to the food. We went there for their Pho soup, and it was great. We got the Filet Mignon meat and even though it was a bit pricey, it was delicious. All in all, one of my favorite spots now!
One of the best places to eat asian (specifically Viatnamese food) in Burbank. They offer a great selection of customizable Pho soups and other great foods. For the appetizers I would highly recommends the Spicy Garlic Tofu and/or the Spring Rolls that come with peanut sauce (not for everyone though). They so offer Banh Mi sandwhiches and other great noodle selections. I would also recommend the chicken curry as this is my favorite chicken curry dish that I have eaten at amy Asian restaurant. Also try the Thai Iced Tea which packs a flavorful and sweet refreshing taste to it. The prices are more affordable as well. My only issue is that there are sometimes flies near the window or walls which can get irritating if not disgusting. Overall, This place is 10000x better than the ramen place and kabuki place nearby which are both expensive and offer poor qualitu food (see my reviews). They are also better than Octopus as it has declined in its quality. If you looking for am Asian treat in Burbank this place is perfect. Would Always recommend. FYI they also take reservations.
Quite a poor attempt at serving Vietnamese food.The first test is to order a pho. The soup was not done right, one should not think good flavouring is a substitute for good old fashion beef stock soup base.Surprisingly, had to wait 15 minutes for a table because there was a crowd.Lesson: tons of people eating there doesnt mean the food is authentic or good.
Broth lacked flavor and wasnt warm enough... I got the popular filet mignon pho and was very disappointed in the 3 tiny shavings of shriveled meat I was served. Will not come here again and will stick to my authentic hole in the wall pho spots.
Pretty solid pho. They give a nice large bowl, with a large amount of mix meats (skirt, brisket, tendon, etc) for $11. Pretty solid pho pricing for the most part. Prices are going up these days, so pho for $7 are of days gone by. Anyways, the pho itself is fantastic. It has a very good flavor, and very rich, and heck it is a solid go to if youre starting to feel under the weather. Made me feel better thats for sure. But regardless of this, everything about it is solid, and I do like the cilantro touch that not alot of other pho places do. Bottom line, if youre looking for a very good pho place out in this area, this is the place to go.
Their pho is always great, but I really enjoyed the vermicelli with fish! It was so tasty with the fish sauce with ginger, a really nice and cool dish to have on a warm day. They also have a yummy cold brewed oolong milk tea!
Tasty food made with quality ingredients. I had combo pho. My partner had grilled beef with vermicelli. The prices see a little high here, but that is the nature of the neighborhood.
First time and the place amazed me. Pho broth, noodles, and side of Ox Tail was on point. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area to shop and eat. The service was great and the place was clean.
Disclosure: Im not a Fan of Pho. But this review is coming from a Husband, whos wife LOVES Pho. Ive been to other Pho places, but this one is my Favorite! Here is why; My wife Loves their Filet Mignon Pho! Me, I love Filet Mignon, but not in a Soup. My 4 yr old twins (by the way this place is VERY Kid Firendly!!!) they love the Veggie Pho, they Share 1 as the portions are big. So, what does a non Pho, meat eating person get at a Pho Place? Shaken Beef Tenderloin Fries (Wok-fried tenderloin steak with butter and onions served with french fries, tomatoes and cotija cheese)!!!!..... droool.... or.... Shaken Beef Tenderloin (Diced tenderloin steak wok-fried with butter and onions. Served with a small bowl of pho broth)!!!!... droool.... Yup!!! Win Win. Service is Super Friendly, and Fast for a sit down place. Kid Friendly also!!. Why the 4 Stars and not 5? Well, the one draw back (for me at least), is that they dont serve Beer or Alcohol... not a big deal, but would be perfect if I can Drink a Beer with my Shaken Beef Tenderloin Fries or Shaken Beef Tenderloin. But a great place to eat, waiting to sit is not too long. Great Place! Beer Please!!!!!!!
Nice enough pho place. But, Ive been spoiled by San Diego and Westminster. Ill say this, the pho was satisfying, and the spring rolls pretty good. The portions of the raw sprouts and mint leaves, on the other hand, was a bit skimpy.
Delicious! We frequent this place about once a week. Our favorites are the Mamas Combo, Traditional Combo, Chicken Banh Mi, and soda limeade (I like to let the limeade water down a little in the ice since it is VERY sweet).
Just ok for me. Theyre pricey for a pho restaurant, but understand location. They do put a lot of beef in the traditional pho. My favorite is still Feu Pho, Studio City. Same price but the best broth and oxtail reigns supreme for me.

I love pho and like Ive never been so dissapointed in pho like this. I really didnt think about the location. Dont get me wrong, service was super great. However, the noodles were hard and the flavor was lacking....usually I would say something like atleast it satisfied my pho craving but sadly this did not.Service was amazing though. I gave 2 stars for service.
Good service and great food! I come here for the pho but the vermicelli and rice bowls are also tasty! Servings are a good size and they dont skimp on the protein. Definitely check it out!
Purely esthetics. Over priced. I made the mistake of choosing this place to eat. I got the sea food combo pho. Literally in the large pho it had 2 shrimp, 1 imitation crab meat roll, and weak broth. This place is only pretty to look at. Avoid this place at all costs if you are looking for real pho, or any food in that case.
The food was delicious! The woman serving is was a bit brisk, but maybe she had had a long day. Regardless, the food made up for it. It is a nice place, I will go again.

I did not expect to find an authentic vietnamese restaurant in Burbank. My friend ordered the pho dac biet. It was decent but not as good as the pho in Westminster of course. What I was really impressed with was their pork chop rice plate. It was incredibly tasty! And the portion was so huge that I only finished about 2/3 of it. What a pleasant find in Burbank!
Greasy, sweet, and entirely lacking the aromas and subtelty that I associate with Vietnamese food. No basil, mint or other garnish for cha gio. Tired, overcooked noodles.
Hands down the best pho in town. The most popular items are pho and stew. Vietnamese coffee is also a favorite. Get there early if youre going for lunch. There can be a wait after noon. The easiest parking is on Orange Grove in the parking structure, just a minute walk to the restaurant.
Food wasnt the best, though it could have been what I ordered that day. Be sure to verify the prices to add items to meals so you arent surprised by the bill later on, made that mistake myself. Worth checking out once but aside from that nothing fancy
This place is pretty good. They definitely gave Pho Citi a run for their money, and won! And Pho Citi was open 24-hours! I think Burbank needed this place desperately. It gave it more dimension and variety and with that, the prices are higher than most other pho places in other cities, the variety of quality meats are evident, and the portions are a lot smaller. The only real deal in this place is the spring rolls, get the 4-rolls (or the max number in an order) and those will be a good deal for your wallet and stomach. Drinks are overpriced. Rice entrees are crazy priced.
I really love this place. I got a togo Bahn Mi sandwich because on a Sunday with an hour before close, they were packed. I told the person that I would wait outside and she brought the sandwich to me. Ive had their Pho at their other location in westwood - and it was really good.
Food is good. But service is bad. They did not even wait for us to finish food. They started clearng the table while we were eating. Then another waitress plonked the bill. We were not sitting at the table long. MGMT wanted to close up shop fast.

Ordered the Filet Mignon Pho and was very disappointed. The key to any Pho is of course the broth.It didnt taste anything like a Pho broth. Its like they used those bogus Pho paste in a jar you can buy in Asian stores. The beef was chewy without much flavor. Wont go back.

Best pho Ive had. Friend brought me here on a Tuesday night and it was pretty packed. Waited about 10 minutes to be seated but it was worth the wait.

Not authentic Vietnamese food. It is like Chinese food where their food change the taste and style to meet the American taste. I do not see any Vietnamese worker when I walked in and it raise a question mark. It turn out the food are also a question mark!

Once a very long line for lunch so I came back when it was not as busy. Our server didnt know some of the questions I had about the food and the just didnt seem to care. Food came out quick and all in all in was just ok. Nothing to write home about.

Good food. If you are with an infant, might not be quite convenient. There some areas where you cannot put high chair, or your stroller next to the table.

Noodles were cooked well, some spice but not overwhelming (some spice fiends might want more), super garlicky which Im a sucker for, and overall super flavorful. We definitely want to come back!

2023-06-28 16:03:17Decided to try out this place before going to see a movie. The atmosphere is average and nothing special. The food was almost the same honestly. It was fine but nothing special. We had the Creamy Cheese Wontons which were decent, the Spicy Tofu Garlic Noodle which were not even a little bit spicy and pretty greasy but was also ok, and the Vegetable Pho with Tofu which, again, was fine but nothing special. The service was great though and the food came out quickly! Oh and the paper cups instead of regular glassware or even hard plastic was a bit of a turn-off.

So she finally agreed.We entered into the restaurant and was greeted by the host. We had first said let’s see the menu the minute we said that her “host” face had changed like “oh god they’re probably not gonna come in or whatever”. Needless to say, we did end up, sitting down, and her demeanor changed yet again. Go figure. I just read people very well.Our server was very sweet and gracious, and very attentive.We did sit in the back part of the restaurant which I didn’t really care for. The servers stay back there and it’s not exactly picked up …you know far as like straw papers on the floor, etc.For this being in downtown Burbank, you would also expect them to be playing some kind of music in the background. You know just for a little bit of ambience.My daughter ordered chicken Pho and I ordered the fillet mignon Pho. I also ordered spring rolls with shrimp. The fillet Pho was so tender and the broth was so flavorful. My daughter loved her Pho. I also tasted it and it was very good. The shrimp spring rolls actually were a little on the dry side and they were missing the Vietnamese basil inside. That just makes these morsels taste even and better bursting with flavor.Besides the slight “tude” of the host, the paper cups for water; this place is a must try. I have other dishes from here and never had a complaint.

2023-08-06 15:10:02Restaurant was only 1/4 filled but struggled with service. The shrimp fried rice was good, but nothing special. The beef wok was also good, but not special. But we came for the Pho. WHICH WE WAITED 25 MINUTES TO RECEIVE! It was really good, but NOT worth the 25 minute wait! Most of the time, Pho takes...2 minutes ..maybe?!

2023-10-03 19:21:39Amazing experience at Mama Hongs. Great service and atmosphere. I got something simple, Thai fried rice but it had fresh ingredients and was very well made. I am looking forward to trying something more complex. I would definitely recommend and would love to come back.Edit: on a second visit I had pho and it was exactly what I hoped for. Amazing quality and taste.

The main two reasons being that the food is amazing and so is the service.Last night was no different. Our sever Jordy was friendly and attentive.We tried the cream cheese wontons which were fried to perfection and filled with melty cream cheese. We also tried the delicious fried chicken spring rolls.My wife went with the Shaken Beef Tenderloin (diced tenderloin wok-fried with butter and onions). This plate is served with a huge portion of rice and a salad. If you choose, it can also be accompanied by an extremely flavorful broth.I went with a large Ox-Tail pho. The meat was tender, the broth it sat in was intense and incredibly flavorful. The two of them complemented each other.There are still so many things I want to try, so I know we will be back.
