This was my first time eating at Maroo Korean BBQ, located in Tracy, CA. I ordered the Spicy Pork lunch meal with lemonade.I was pleasantly surprised when the waitress brought out 6 individual bowls; each came with a different sample proportion size entrées. 1) Kimchi, 2) Pickled Cucumbers, 3) Marinaded Bean Sprouts, 4) Marinaded Potato Chunks, 5) Sliced Fish Cakes, 6) Blanched Broccoli, and a small side of steamed rice.The rice and bean sprouts paired well with my spicy pork, and the other dishes complimented the main dish as mice appetizers. The lemonade was nice and sweet to round out the meal. The spicy pork was served on a hot plate that sizzled as if it was a plate of fajita meat. The flavor was very tasty to the point that I almost ordered a second one. Overall, the serving size was just enough when eaten with the side dishes.The atmosphere was nice and quiet, and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. She offered me complimentary refill of any of the side dishes that I wanted along with the refill on lemonade.I will definitely eat here again, and would recommend for anyone who likes Korean dishes to give Maroo a try.

This is the second time i went here and quality remains the same since the last visit. We should get this place more rave.. legit Korean food.. so good! I had hotstone bibimbap and soybean curd doenjjang jigae (soy bean paste stew). which is super super good! they also have fried chicken.. their food makes you really full.. the purple rice, i love it! more rave for this place!!

Have to say that this is truly excellent Korean food. You want to start with the vegetable pancakes as an appetizer, then enjoy the spicy pork. The kimchi and other dishes are amazing. The staff are super friendly, attentive and fast. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes here. Please check it out!👍🏽

Very delicious Korean food! I ordered online for pick-up through their website! The estimate time was accurate! The staff was friendly when I picked up the order!Love their Spicy Glazed Chicken! Would like to try their soy sauce flavor next time! The Fried Chicken does not have much flavor though!Love their tofu soup (Soondubu Stew)!!! So yummy!I would say I am very satisfied! This is the first time I got authentic Korean food in Tracy ever since my family moved here last summer!!! Highly recommend it! Would definitely come back!!!

We got two beef and seafood tuna soups, side dishes, sides of rice, and a peach sangria. The side dishes were packed with flavor. The beef and seafood tuna soup could have used a little more flavor and maybe a few more pieces of beef. The sangria was delicious!The staff were friends and provided quick service. Youre able to ask for more of the side dishes if youre sharing with a group.The place is clean.

Good restaurant, decent food in general, but slow service. We ordered soft tofu soup, seafood maroo noodle soup and Bulgogi. The tofu soup and bulgogi tasted great. The seafood one wasn’t tasting as we expected! They never brought us water or even asked to bring water, after we got our food we asked if we can have water! The staff are friendly and very nice!

We come here every month. Best Korean BBQ around. Flavors of the plates are so good. Our favorites are bugogi beef, kimci fried rice, and the kimic soup. Great service!

One of my first times to a Korean restaurant. The food was quite good and the service was very friendly and helpful. I would think it’s a good sign that almost all the customers that came to the restaurant while we were there were Korean. I had the Maroo noodle bowl which like a mix between Raman and egg drop soup. My wife had the bibimbop. She liked it but didn’t know it came cold. We want to go back and try other foods on the menu. They just opened (or reopened ) a week ago.

I make korean food from scrarch and this place was as flavorful and delicious as ever. The spice... Is spicy! Just how I expect it when I say I want something spicy. Fried chicken was delicious and the meats are the good cuts and not the cheap stuff. My kids loved it and most of all it wasnt too pricey.

This place has pretty authentic Korean food though I wish the chicken wing was true to the REAL Korean chicken. Has Korean beers and soju to select from.Their mandugook is really good and their ddukboki is decent as well. I keep going back for more.Atmosphere could be improved. Feels a little bare.

It’s a small place but I placed order on the phone and got the best korean food in the area highly recommend this place. Id say go for lunch because dinner can get busy or call ahead but all in all I came back. id reccomend the kimchee ramen and bibimbam.

This place is not good, their only focus here is to get as much money as they can get from the customer. In my mind the focus should be on feeding people.We had 2 appetizers, chicken wings and vegi pancakes, 2 galbi plates with 2 strips of short ribs on each for $30, each !!, one pork plate and a bibimpop plate. Food was not fresh and the portions were tiny. The check for 4 dinners came to be $154!! Expensive! Really expensive! And that’s not even an all you can eat type of a scenario.Also, they added the tip to the final bill. On the restaurant’s window it says that gratuity is added for partys of 6 or more. Odd, but we went with it. Service felt very rushed, and not even once the waiter asked us how are we doing. So totally felt like a rip off.

Waitress during lunch hour works hard and does a fine job. Even found time to check on each table. My wife and I completely finished our food and were both on a diet! We had spicy pork, grilled mackerel, seafood tofu soup and soy chicken. No leftovers to take home.

As a Korean American, their food is legit authentic and its really good. I ate my food so I have no pics but I have tried most of their food and its never been disappointing.My 7 yr old daughter has always been a picky eater but she begs me to take her to Maroo so that she can have their soy glazed fried chicken. So try it. You wont regret it. You will probably hate me after you try their fried chicken because you will want to keep going back for more.

Very dirty resteraunt. The tables had more sauce on them then the dried out bulgogi. Everything stuck to the table and it was so uncomfortable. We asked them to clean it and they wiped it with a dirty rag. The side dishes were not bad, but the bulgogi was just dried out bits of lean beef.

Originally located in the heart of downtown Tracy for a short period of time, relocated to its current location sometime in February 2018.The original location was much smaller with parking at a premium. The new location is larger with ample spaces for parking and in my opinion, better exposure.The restaurant is clean and their menu offers a variety of specialty dishes to include pictures of what you will be ordering.On this visit, we ordered several dishes to include, Spicy Pork bugogi, Chicken bugogi, and a Salmon dish.All three dishes came sizzling on a hot plate to the table and prepared just right. Both the chicken and spicy pork dishes came on a bed of chopped onions, which complimented the overall flavor of each dish.All the main dishes included rice and six different picked condiments, which complimented the overall dining experience.The only downside was in the beverage service.I asked for hot tea, which was lukewarm at best. When I asked for a pot of tea they said they didnt have one. It wasnt until my third cup of tea was it actually hot. Unfortunately it came at the end of our meal.I ordered another helping of rice and never received it, which was frustrating. I understood they were busy but its the little things that count.With that said, the price of the entire meal was very affordable and a steady stream of customers eager for a table.Overall this restaurant impressed me in the way in the preparation of authentic Korean cuisine.

The food is great but it’s too expensive. They just recently raised the prices excessively. 1 order of Galbi went up from 21.99 to 30. It is outrageous. That is about the same price you will pay per person in all you can eat Korean Barbecue like Jen’s.

Traditional authentic Korean food. Recommend getting their fried chicken‼️, tofu kimchi, the spicy pork, kimchi stew, doenjang stew, bibimbap, spicy calamari. Personally, we enjoyed these dishes over others. Being regulars, we noticed taste can get sometimes inconsistent- great sometimes, so-so other times. Depends on whos in charge in the kitchen that day.

I’m a bit sad that I wrote this place off for many years thinking can’t be good cause it’s in Tracy haha ;) . This place is a hidden gem! Can’t believe that their fried chicken is actually much better than those Korean chicken places. I cant believe theres such a delicious Korean restaurant in Tracy!!! The soft tofu and LA ribs are a bit small, but the taste is good. Yukgaejang is also delicious! But the portion of their LA Korean galbi dish is a bit small.
