Food was great, service was polite but extremely slow. Only two other tables were occupied at the time we got there and we sat for ~10 minutes before even getting menus/water.Atmosphere is typical, nothing amazing but it was clean.

Disappointing bento box. Tempura was badly fried with no flake or crunch. The shrimp tempura was very small and skinny. In general, seem to skimp on quality ingredients.The tempura sauce had some strange citrus flavor in it. It’s not complicated folks Chicken teriyaki was thin and dry, overcooked. Maguro sashimi was pretty good. Rice was very low quality with irregular grains of small size. Miso soup had tiny pieces of tofu. If it’s so small, just leave it out altogether.Service was ok, but the waitress would disappear to the front section and abandon the dining room for long periods of time. Charged for each tea. Automatic 20% tip was added to the bill. Ugh.Dining room is quiet and spacious with widely separated tables. Low lighting. Lots of unused space.

The sashimi on the chirashi and the roll was fresh. But the others, such as fried chicken and tofu, were okay, not quite authentic. Price was comparably less expensive then the other Japanese restaurants around. Not so many people on a Saturday evening.

I go for the hand roll special. Filling and delicious. I haven’t tried much else but they are consistent, good service, for pickup orders make sure to call it in it’s easier on the staff!!I also love that every time I’m in there a Miyazaki film is playing on one of the tvs. Always a plus!

Easily one of the BEST Japanese restaurants I have ever been to. They had so many sushi roll options, as well as other options for those that don’t like/cant have fish! they also have plenty of vegetarian options. Unfortunately i’m not from the area, cuz other wise i’d definitely be in there once a week. And for my anime fans, they have different animes playing on the TVs! (One Piece and Death Note when i was in there) The food was literally incredible, and cooked to a perfect temperature. I got the 2 item bento, and got the chicken teriyaki and California roll. the bento box also comes with rice, edamame, miso soup, and a salad, as well as a cup of ice cream for dessert which appeared to be a sort of mochi, but instead of the rice dough shell on the outside, it was blended into the ice cream to give it a nice sticky chewy texture. The service was also excellent and very nice! Overall some of the best food i have ever had, and will definitely be going back whenever i’m in the area!

This was a terribly mediocre sushi place. The fish was too thick and overwhelmed the mouth; the portions were small and yet expensive, and the food took forever to get out, even though there were not many people inside the place. The miso soup tasted like it had been made with instant miso soup packets, and the tofu was too firm. Overall, way too expensive for what their portion sizes are with a lackluster tasting experience.

Can’t believe this spot isn’t busy more often. Amazing sushi and so reasonably priced. Also a terrific sake selection! The sushi portions are generous and delicious, and the sides and salads are also great - highly recommend the spicy tuna wakame salad appetizer, and the spicy edamame. As good as the izakaya at Momotaro in Chicago!

Friendly service, conveyor belt sushi (6-9p) has returned. Food and options are pretty good, depending on the number of patrons partaking. Fried items are excellent when they are first put out but by 8p, most of those remaining items are cold and less appetizing. Pacing and when certain items go out (desserts get put out too early and not often enough) can definitely be improved but a fun and satisfying experience nonetheless. Ramen is simple and satisfying, noodles have a nice chew, but chashu was a bit too fatty for my liking.

This is some of the best sushi Ive had. And I have had a lot of sushi.Professional staff, beautiful and delicious food. I ordered chicken teriyaki to go for dinner the next night. Loved the char and the salad was even great.I will go back many times in the future and will send others.Opened late evening and I cant find words to describe the art we were served.Exceptional experience

Tasty, but small portions. Floor was very sticky. I went to lunch with my family. My husband, 3 kids, and I and was charged auto gratuity for a group...odd. I tip well, but the auto gratuity for my family struck me as odd!!! one of my kids didnt even eat, being 3 and doesnt eat Sushi. On top of this my appetizer came out last and was burnt- took one bite and left it on the table. Wont be eating here again.

Horrible service, crunch rolls are crunchless, the Uni is exquisite, the ikura could beore generous as could the Shirt Maguru and the unagi was light and smokey .One day maybe menus will provide pictures and larger darker printed words and lighter paper so grown ups can read and see what to order. But its local its decent and high mid priced for the Tech and Business crouds.

I hate reviewing japanese restaurant. That is because most of the time I go there because of the review and most of the time I think reviewers are so dishonest. This is a perfect example. I went there on an early night during the weekdays and not much people there and the service was slow and unattentive. The sushi is mediocre at best and the udon is not even worth mentioning. Most of the reviewers or so called sushi eater thinks if there is a piece of fish on top of some rice and if it doesnt smell too bad then is good sushi.

This is just the best sushi I ever eaten. And I tried a lot in different countries.I’m trying hard to find some other place that could be that good, because Miyozen is too far away from me. But I still can’t find anything better or even close to the taste of sushi here.

So the cleanliness could be improved and the sushi was ok but not amazing. I really liked the friendly staff, the communal feel of shared wasabi/ginger, and the tables were accessible friendly. I almost gave it a four, but flavor and cleanliness are big factors that even the welcoming staff doesnt make up for it.Also they do have parking lot if you figure out how to find it.

Whoa. This place has really gone down hill. When I first went here they had a cool conveyor belt with lots of sushi yummies on different colored plates that denoted the different prices. Their selection was fresh and tasty and it was a fun experience. This last time I went I took a friend and I ended up super embarrassed. This place is dirty, it smells, its messy and the fish was obviously old. I dont recommend going here. I was worried about getting sick from bad fish. I hope one day its restored to its former glory.

The place is clean, and service is great. The number of roll options is vast and they are happy to customize anything. They have good sake options at reasonable prices. This is our go to spot for sushi. The only time we go anywhere else is to check out a new spot or meet friends who invite us elsewhere, but we always come back to here.Plenty of space for large parties. We have had parties of 20 show up without a reservation and they killed it for us. At the same time, we often stop by with just the two of us, grab a quick roll, beer and hot sake and its perfect. The management always makes a point to talk to every customer, and you really feel taken care of like you should at a good mom and pop restaurant.On top of that they have multiple tv sets always playing various Hiyao Miyazaki anime films. Good music on the stereo. What more can you ask for in a great sushi spot?Fyi, free private parking lot entrance is on Adeline.

Everyone here is super friendly. Good Japanese comfort food. Theyre very accommodating for my partners gluten allergy - they have tamari (gluten free soy sauce) and can tell you which rolls are safe. And they always have a Miyazaki movie playing, which is a lovely thing to do.

This is my neighborhood sushi spot, so maybe Im biased, but I absolutely love them. My husband and I eat there at least once a month, and have never been disappointed. The staff is kind and attentive. The chefs are fast and friendly. The food is AWESOME. Also, they have Sapporo on tap and Totoro posters in the lobby :) I recommend them highly.Note: Dont try to park on 40th or San Pablo. Park on Adeline - plenty of spaces there.

Every time I go I ask for my favorite fish or I ask for their suggestions and they always build the best sashimi or roll I could imagine and test as I espect. Went to this place twice. On the second time, we sat down, and they informed us that the conveyor belt isnt running, possibly due to customers not handling the plates correctly (i.e. putting plates back, touching them but not taking). So we just ordered all the sushi we wanted from a waiter, and it was a somewhat anti-climactic experience. However, this was maybe half a year ago. I recently wanted to go, but again, they said they arent running the conveyor belt and havent for a while, and they have no prospects of firing it back up.So that ruins the whole kaitensushi experience. Sushi here is also mediocre. Wont be going back until the belt is rotating again.

Miyozen has decent Japanese food in a large, cleanish settings. they have a playroom for kids, but the toys were not very clean, and the toys were kind of a random assortment of partial sets and half-broken toys. restrooms were clean and spacious, but there was no changing table or other similar surface.
