Next to Blackhawk Plaza and in the Tassajara Crossing Shopping mall, this restaurant location is a 5 Star establishment!M J Sushi is my close-to M.idnight J.apanese go-to Sushi place to dine-in or takeout.This review is my dine-in experience.Let your eyes be captivated, see pics.Guess which hand roll, it starts with a “U”.Ordered one of their most reviewed rollsAnd added the Gyoza since ‘Tengo hambre’, correction, I am very hungry !Excellent presentation, fabulous combination of flavors, basically hit the spot !Note. Delicious food. Always fresh and well-prepared. Good selection on the menu. Great service. Really appreciate that they stay open to 10pm. We have enjoyed both the sashimi and rolls.

A great little sushi spot near home. Food was fresh and served quickly. Atmosphere is very comfortable and home like feeling. Folks are friendly and place is usually open till 11:30 PM.

I am surprised this place doesn’t have many reviews.Great, very welcoming sushi bar. Very clean and nice.Great personal!Sushi rolls were all great and fresh. We got all special rolls. We liked them all.I just wish they used a real crab meat though.I would recommend this place to my friends.

Update 6/04/2023 came in for a take out order. Order for sushi rolls and I was very pleased with the size and quality.Just open 6/28/2022 in Danville. Just off Camino Tassajara near Safeway. Heard great things and can’t wait a sushi place open near Blackhawk and open 4:30 pm to 12:00 am midnight

Dragon roll is advertised as coming with avocado on top. There was only avocado on 2/8 pieces of the roll. Could be carelessness, could be a lack of quality control.

Confused about the ratings- this was very expensive for small, mediocre quality sushi. Employee was rude. I’ll drive a little further next time to go to Fat Fish.

Love their hand rolls, my kid loves ikura nigiri. This place gets 5 stars all day! Fast, easy and delicious. Staff is great and even offered me a free beer while I waited for my food

We are always in search of great sushiMy Sister and I are from the Chicagoland area visiting. My Older Sisters, Brother-In Law and Nephew recommended this place. It’s a gem! Everything was delicious. I am Vegan and found so much options on their menu. I highly recommend this sushi restaurant!

Was great the first few times we visited but my impression is the quality is dropping. Two peices had bones in the last order of sashimi, and my daughter said one of the roles tasted a bit off. Hopefully just an off night

Great food and good prices! We ordered veg tempura and two rolls and miso soup and under $40!I was VERY disappointed they served only bottled water. Our local tap water is great and we must get away from single use plastic. As customers, we need to request less plastic. It is NOT recycled properly in our area.Buy sturdy plastic glasses that are dishwasher safe and reusable.

I love how this place is opened till 12AM because my boyfriend and I tend to get hungry around 11:00PM. We didn’t really feel like getting burgers so we’re happy to eat here again. The staff is very nice and our waitress tonight was so sweet. So if you’re reading this, thank you for the extra tea and amazing service! I recommend eating here (: I can’t wait till you guys add dessert

Amazing place. We had scallop sushi and the dynamite roll was just dynamite. Endless pours of delicately flavored tea. This place is also priced quite well. We ordered miso, three rolls a hand roll and it costed less than 60 including a decent tip.

Overall, this place provides great value for an affordable price! My family and I ordered the dragon roll, tempura appetizer, and the BB roll. All of it was tasty with fast service; but, though its farther, Id recommend Amakara. The problem is that I found myself relying on the soy sauce for flavor since the rolls tasted slightly bland.The only other complaint I have is that we were served cold tea when we sat down, which left an unfavorable first impression...

The service from an exemplary employee by the name of Edwin Liu was fantastic. Edwin Liu pleased me in more ways than one 😉😩. After our session he asked me to join his pirate criu. I loved my experience and hope to come back for round two!

I was very excited to try a new sushi place in Danville, but it turned out to be very disappointing.The main issues:- not too much fish on some rolls and soooo much rice- worst unagi (eel) sashimi ever - bland, dry and all 5 pieces stuck into 1 ugly thing- overall meh quality of fish and rice- the smallest portion of the seaweed salad ever
