2023-10-12 03:51:20The waitress was courteous, responsive, and attentive to all our requests. The food came relatively quickly and most of them were pretty good. We really liked the spicy pork belly, onigiri and fried squid. A minor complaint is that some of the seasonings were too heavy, making the food a bit salty.Overall, I think the food quality is nice, with good service and atmosphere, I think the price is very reasonable.

2023-10-10 05:26:43Very nice date night atmosphere! The seats are on the floor, but it dips into the ground so you can sit down without crossing your legs. Yakitori selection was very nice, price is decent. Sounds cocktail is a shareable bottle, which is nice!

2023-05-27 16:41:26We came in around 9 PM without reservation and they took us in which is very nice. The place is gorgeous at night, with private dining areas separated with glass. Awesome experience sitting in the floor as well. Food is also pricy but so worth it! Good quality food, good service.

2023-04-16 19:32:18Got quail eggs ($4.5), beef tongue ($7), lobster ($14), and wagyu ($8).Flavor and spices are perfection. Ambiance is nice.Lobster was yummy and juicy. The quail eggs were surprisingly so delicious and grilling flavor made them superb. Beef tongue tasted pretty good.Wagyu had great flavor but didn’t seem it was from a good cut, it wasn’t as soft as a ribeye for example.Proportions are very small, you can’t get full but superb taste.

2023-03-11 06:11:30A nice location very reminiscent of Japanese Izakaya if youve ever been to one. However youll find the main difference being in the more formal atmosphere, and a price to reflect it.The food here is rather good. Nothing thatll absolutely blow you away, but its still good nonetheless. However, beware the wagyu, while delicious it is quite obviously not A5. Id imagine its somewhere around A3 grade. I had ordered it expecting it to be A5 but on the menu it is simply labeled as wagyu, so perhaps this is my own fault. The ramen in the photo is delicious. By default it comes spicy. I had the spice set to the side so I could customize it to my preference. On its own the soup is delicious, but the spice really takes it up to the next level. Its not quite as good as the ramen youd get in Japan but its a close substitute. The atmosphere here was lovely, low tables with descended seating so you can hang your legs down. However its a bit of a tight squeeze to get into the seats since the area between the wall and the table is very narrow. Ultimately this is a non issue for most people but be wary of it.The wait staff was lovely, everyone was kind and helpful. Theyd frequently come by to make sure everything was going well, and food rolled out rather quickly despite the waitress informing us of the kitchen being short staffed that day.All in all the food was delicious and the restaurant has a fun, unique, atmosphere. Its worth checking out at least once to see if you like it enough to return.

2023-04-12 03:25:22If you are a fan of Japanese cuisine, Yakitori should definitely be on your must-try list. And if you happen to be in the mood for some mouth-watering Yakitori, then Mokutanya is the perfect spot to satisfy your cravings. From the moment you step in, youll be greeted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. The traditional Japanese decor and the friendly staff create a cozy ambiance that is perfect for a night out with friends or family. But what really sets this Yakitori place apart from the others is the quality of their food. The Yakitori skewers are prepared with great care and attention to detail, resulting in a delectable array of flavors that will leave you wanting more. The menu offers a wide variety of Yakitori options, from the classic chicken skewers to more exotic choices like quail eggs and beef tongue. Each skewer is cooked to perfection and served hot, with just the right amount of seasoning to enhance the natural flavor of the meat.In addition to the Yakitori, the restaurant also serves a range of other Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, and tempura. All of these dishes are equally delicious and well-prepared, making it a great place to explore the flavors of Japanese cuisine.Overall, this place is hands down the best Yakitori place around. With its friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and mouth-watering food, its the perfect destination for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

2023-09-08 02:12:54My friend and I had an absolutely enchanting time here. Our server Kat was the best I have ever met and was warm and attentive throughout the duration of our time here! She knows the menu like the back of her hand and had sensational recommendations for us, was quick and agile with delivering our dishes, and anticipated and accommodated our needs without us even asking! And, best of all, her tableside manner was stellar, as she provided some emotional support too (with permission) to my friend who had just been through an ordeal and was telling me about it! The food itself was also top-shelf for a reasonable price and the decor and atmosphere in the outside patio area is also beautiful.

2022-10-26 07:54:55SUCH a cool place! We were staying at the Hyatt Regency after a positioning flight into SFO in order to fly to Europe the next day. We found Mokutanya on Yelp only 3 minutes from our hotel. It was soooo cool! Ive never been to a restaurant like this. The tables are divided into rooms by glass partitions and each have sunken areas where your legs go. The skewers were so amazing. Our favorites were the spicy pork belly, black cod, spicy waygu, and the bacon enoki mushroom skewers. Everyone that worked there was genuinely nice. Be forewarned... last call (on a Tuesday) is 10pm, not a minute later. The atmosphere turns from dark, moody, romantic with great house or pop music to bright lights and mops on the floor the second it turns 11:00pm. I wish that wasnt the case, but otherwise, we HIGHLY recommend!!

2022-05-24 04:23:29Amazing food and vibes! The prices were low-average for the area. I ordered the ramen and it was delicious. Not too much or too little. The seats are on the floor and there is a section for your legs.Service was attentive without being overwhelming.Overall amazing experience and would eat there again and again.
