One of the best places in marina to eat at. The waiter helped us out a lot since it was our first time, he was really kind and helping he made the experience 10 times better I recommend this place 10/10 would go again.
Great fun and good foid. They were really good with getting us service when we needed something. Like someone else said it is pricey. Would like one more thing of meat witg the 60 dollar meal we got for 2. It came with 3 meats. Would have been nice to have one more also for the price. Weird choice of giving my water with a little tin cup and a plastic container. other than that, fish tank was really dirty looking. Kind of ruined the vibe. Also they had prices of paper hand written with specials at each table on the wall. I thought it kind of cheapened up the place. Good place for a novelty but wouldnt be my go to place.
Second time eating at this restaurant. Sourly disappointed by the quality of food. They are skimpy on the ingredients. For example, for the bibimbap I ordered, I only got a tiny amount of fatty beef. And their side dishes, a highlight of any Korean meal for me, are terrible. The kimchi we had was made from cheaper, regular cabbage as opposed to napa cabbage. This made a huge difference to the taste. It was also insufficiently fermented. Its NOT an inexpensive place to eat for all that.
The server told us that the best review is no review. But I couldnt help writing my review. It was excellent! Highly recommend! Dont get offended if you are a vegetarian and you are called rabbit.
Second time eating here. The first time was with a large group, this time it was me and my husband. We ordered the Paradise Combo, which gives you 3 meat options and included sides. If youre starving, I would opt for the 2-person combo, but even then, it was a lot of food, so the price is in proportion to what they serve you. Otherwise I would opt for 1 choice of meat, that can easily feed 2 people and add sides, this will be a more economic option if your not looking to explore the different types of meat or have a smaller appetite.They were short staffed, but even so, our waitress was attentive but literally running from table to table. Ambiance is not inviting. It felt very outdated. If it wasnt for friends inviting us the first time, just by the looks, I probably would have opted to go somewhere else. But as they are saying, dont judge a book by its cover. Its worth trying if you want Korean BBQ
Nak Won Korean BBQ is the most authentic Korean BBQ in California. The portions are perfect, and the service is exquisite.The night my party went the house was packed, but they had no problems or delays with any food service. I had the pleasure of watching Steve, one of the original staff, go from table to table and help everyone in the restaurant learn to BBQ the right way.Steve had funny anecdotes and was friendly and knowledgeable.The food is to die for! We spent most of our time frying up seasoned pork and pork belly, but the soup and other dishes were incredible!Thank you Steve and staff for an amazing night with such a wonderful atmosphere.I will be back!

This is not a good restaurant for Korean food. The overall cleanliness of this restaurant is not good. The restaurant is in dire need of sanitation. The waiter has a dirty mouth and speaks inappropriately about things that have nothing to do with ordering food or about the restaurant. The food is expensive for very small portions. The quality of the meat is cheap and not good for the prices charged.The flavours are alright but not anything exceptional. Overall I rate this restaurant as below average because of the staff and the skimpy portions.

I loved the meal I had here. Everything about it was great. There were new dishes and appetizers that Ive never heard of before (coming from a very small town environment), and they were all quite tasty; but what really made the experience was how the owner came out to talk with my friend and me. He recommended certain plates that would really give an impression of the cuisine he meant to serve and explained how each is traditionally prepared. His passion and knowledge made every bite taste better because I knew just how to appreciate his food properly.

I got take out for bulgogi, it came with rice, a salad, 1 side and the meat. The service was really good but there was also a cockroach in my food. 🤮🤮🤮 talk to one of the people they were nice about it, and said they were going to give us our money back.

Ordered Yuk-Gae-Jang (육계장) and it came with weird shape and type of meat. It is supposed to be with stripes of beef meat but it came with ground beef type of meat. They didn’t seem to have the right material but just made with whatever meat they had. They don’t know how to make Korean food and don’t follow recipe.
Hot pots here are the best. Ask for an extra egg. The owners are super friendly. Using the grill is very enjoyable with a group but we usually just order off the menu.
Our first time as a family having Korean barbecue. The food was savory and well presented when given to us. The meat options we chose were pork, chicken, beef sliced short ribs and beef steak cuts. They were all well marinated with a sweet n salty marinade. It was pricey but the server was a comedian...he sure made us feel comfortable and well taken care of.
Service was extremely good and the server was kind. The owner was funny and down to earth also he made us feel like we were eating at his house in a good way. Side dishes were top notch and the meats were marinated perfectly. Big delicious portions and amazing service made it deserving of a 5/5 stars

This is my second time here and both times have been amazing. The waiter, Steve, makes the experience worth every cent. The food is awesome and big portions. Dont have a huge experience of Korean cuisine, but on that location I have nothing but nice things to say! The host whom I think was the owner had a good sense of humor. Sometimes mine is on the callous side, but he fired right back! My smile stayed the rest of my experience there. Even talked about it on the way home. Id give them a 5 star just for that!

This was the best Korean BBQ I have ever tasted. The chef came to our table periodically and cooked our food for us so it was portioned so when we finished one we could move to the next. The minimum for was $50+ but it was enough for two. Its well worth the experience. The chef made us feel at home. I cant wait to go back.

Had my first taste of Korean BBQ here. I got the spicy pork dinner special. It was BEYOND DELICIOUS. I was blown away by how melty the grilled pork was! The arrangement of banchan that came with the meal were the perfect accompaniment. Also ordered the fried potstickers which were just as delicious! Juicy inside and crispy outside. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

This is a great restaurant. Our waitress, Jessica, was amazing in helping us choose meals and drink and knew alot about the Korean Cuisine. She was really kind and talkative too. The food was well and truly delicious. Our appetizer included Tofu, Salad, Seaweed Noodles, ect and it was amazing. There were six small platters included with our appetizer, each as impressive as the last. For my main course, I had Rice Cake Noodles. It was incredible. The noodles and rice cake were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The soup was also really nice with a bite of spice with it. Would dine here again, 10/10

Delicious food. We got the cook it yourself Marina special. It was plenty of food for three hungry adults. Our host, Art, was great at explaining the 5 different meat dishes and helped us cook it properly. We also had 8-10 side dishes and some dipping sauces. I would highly recommend Nak Won for great food and fun cooking it.

It’s over priced ! His receipts are in Korean so you don’t know if Steve is over charging! He’s annoying, irritating, and plain rude !!! He is always looking for a date which makes the people dining very uncomfortable . I will never go here again !!! Take your money somewhere else !!! He should be out of business !!!

The service was horrible but the food was amazing so I give it 4 stars.It’s pricy and we had to ask multiple times for drink straws for the kids, forks, napkins, our rice that came with the meals (which never made it to the table despite having paid for it) and not to mention we waited about 45 minutes just for our check so we could pay and leave despite asking multiple times.I wouldnt say the server was bad, they are just greatly understaffed and he was noticibly stressed out.The food was high quality, if you can stand the constant wait times, then this is the place for you.

We got the very special charcoal grilled BBQ beef (short rib), pork, and pork belly. The charcoal grill gives a special taste, however some pieces got slightly burnt as the flame is too strong. This place is also a bit pricey!
You can hardly find any beef from the soup or stone pot but very little (5 maybe )tiny bit beef crumbles even if the menu says beef with something else. The only or the first Korean restaurant I have seen with such amazingly little amount of beef. Not worth half the price ! Not sure if the diarrhea after eating is due to the food.
Bibimbap was listed at $10.99 but they charged $12.99 without letting me know. They should correct the price on the menu or let the customers know. brought food and did not offer anything to drink, had to ask for water and tea.

Went there Sat evening after golf at black horse. Only one waitress is serving for all guests. Seems to be the owner? I saw many korean people just serve by themselves since no service arrived on time. We are requested to wait for 20 min after ordering the soup. One of my friend came to the kitchen to order after waiting for 15 min.We just came out and went to other korean near by. it is much better food and service and no waiting.

Bottle cap in our water goblit and when I asked if our order would come with dishes of kimchi, initially told yes but they never came with it. I asked to order a variety but was given a dish of cabbage kimchi.Do not get me wrong, I still love this place and will come back but I am sad I did not get any of the potato kimchi.

We had excellent service from all the staff there, and our server gave us good recommendations for food selections. We were served very quickly, and our server even had the kitchen give us an extra side of rice since we were sharing just a few meat choices, as well as some extra side dishes to round out our meal. The food was absolutely excellent, with great options for family style or individual portions. Our family felt well taken care of and hope to make it back some day. If youre in the area and looking to have some Korean BBQ, give this spot a try! Youll get some great food and meet some great people.

2022-05-30 23:09:06Ive had the best seafood stone pot today! The last one I had was in Chinhae, South Korea. The banchan and the tofu appetizer were so good. Overall, a pleasant experience. It was peak time around lunch when I came in. The owners were busy but very accommodating and friendly. This restaurant looks like a local favorite. Everyone from young to old seem to enjoy their food. The sizzling beef looks yummy so Ill try that next time. A really good Korean restaurant and the dishes look really good. Worth the trip and will visit again!

Took about an hour to get anyone to get our order in and the owner I’m assuming (tall man) was completely rude while taking our order. He was too busy entertaining a group at a different table. When we received our food, the meat was frozen and stuck together. Side dishes were good but that is all the positives I can think of. Will not be returning. The lady that brought the water was nice and apologetic about the situation.

2023-06-25 16:58:29First time eating here was last night for a date night. I was definitely impressed and will be returning regularly. The waiter is sassy and funny, he made the dinner an experience. We ordered the pork combo. The food was DELICIOUS! I ate two bowls of kimchi. I don’t know if they make the kimchi in house but it was one of the best I’ve had. I am thrilled on the rare occasion I find a restaurant that is authentic and as delicious as Nak Won is. It is nice to have something different as most restaurants in the area serve the same boring stuff to appeal to tourists. Can’t wait to return!
