Nak Won Korean BBQ Restaurant
330-a Reservation Rd, Marina, CA 93933, United States
Nak Won Korean BBQ is the most authentic Korean BBQ in California. The portions are perfect, and the service is exquisite. The night my party went the house was packed, but they had no problems or delays with any food service. I had the pleasure of watching Steve, one of the original staff, go from table to table and help everyone in the restaurant learn to BBQ the right way.Steve had funny anecdotes and was friendly and knowledgeable. The food is to die for! We spent most of our time frying up seasoned pork and pork belly, but the soup and other dishes were incredible!Thank you Steve and staff for an amazing night with such a wonderful atmosphere.I will be back!

New Korea Restaurant
300-D Carmel Ave, Marina, CA 93933, United States
Authentic Korean restaurant tucked away off the main road in Marina. It has the standard fare, we chose the seafood pancake and beef bulgogi and not disappointed. Banchan was somewhat limited, maybe six dishes. Food came quickly but service was a tad slow. Overall, a very nice find in the small town of Marina. On par with Ktown or other Bay Area places.

Wharo

Located in a non-descript strip mall in Marina Del Rey. Surprising good food. My family had the Korean BBQ which they devoured. I tried the Meiji Soon Tofu Chigae soup, made from fresh organic tofu. It was excellent, probably one of the best tofu soups I have had. The service was quite good considering that when we walked in, the restaurant was empty but filled up in about 5 minutes. Everybody came in at the same time. The decor was basic but easy on the eyes. The ventilation system is excellent for a Korean BBQ. It was the first Korean BBQ where we left without smelling like the food.

Hongs Market

Very friendly. Got most of the essentials for the average Korean or Japanese palate. They have the hard to find Japanese mayo. They even have iced coffee. Asians been doin that way before Starbucks showed up on every corner! Haha. And ask about their awesome bugogi. (Or just go to the restaurant next door)

Keokis Hawaiian Barbeque Carry-Out
3170 Vista Del Camino Cir, Marina, CA 93933, United States
This is one of the few legit Hawaiian plate lunches Ive found on the mainland. I used to live in Hawaii and ate plate lunches after surfing. When I moved back here, I would see places claiming to have Hawaiian food. Usually, it wasnt that great. They would either mess up the mac salad, or have stuff that didnt taste authentic. Then I tried Keokis. 100% legit. They have their own spin on stuff, but it tasted like a real Hawaiian plate lunch. Delicious. Generous. Satisfying. My goto meal here is the Mix plate with kalua pork, chicken katsu and teri chicken. Throw in a POG for good measure and youre set. The mini loco moco substitution is also good. You get a lot of food, so if you are a light eater, you might even be able to share it with someone. Maybe throw in a musubi to make sure you have enough for both of you.Negatives about the spot are that its small. At the time Im writing this, theres no indoor seating anymore. And the wait times can be LONG. So, if you are trying to get this for lunch, call it in ahead of time, or youre going to be waiting for a while. That said, this is definitely the best plate lunch in the area and if youre craving Hawaiian, well worth going out of your way for. Just remember, the portions are large, so bring your appetite.

Moto Azabu Sushi Bar & Grill
517 W Washington Blvd 2nd Floor, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292, United States
The fiance brought me here for an early Valentines Day Dinner and what a find! this is going to be our new go-to sushi place!we had the Kusshi Oysters, Akamutsu (fatty white fish), Toro, Salmon, Ankimo - Simmered (Monkfish liver), Dragon Roll, & of course ended with a scoop each of Hojicha and Black Sesame Ice Cream. EVERYTHING was delicious and the sushi was fresh!Moto Azabu cures their own Salmon and it is absolutely delicious. they are most known for their Toro - definitely try both the Salmon & the Toro. also try the Ankimo (simmered) b/c not many places have the simmered version.the fiance almost put some shoyu (soy sauce) on his Akamutsu piece by mistake but Taka-san stopped him just in time.the scoops of ice cream reminded me of my visits to Namba in Osaka, Japan and Arashiyama in Kyoto, Japan...i told the fiance, i dont want to contribute this find to Google Guide World b/c i want to keep this place a secret so we dont ever have to wait!but alas, sharing is caring & yalls should experience the delicious sushi at Moto Azabu.どうもありがとうございます Masa-san, Ken-san, Taka-san, & Jose for the wonderful and delicious meal! we plan on becoming regulars! Off the Grid Fort Mason Center
Parking Lot, 2 Marina Boulevard, Fort Mason Center, San Francisco, CA 94123, United States
Love it, absolutely love Off the Grid. The entire concept, everything.*** Really Liked ***-Aburaya Japanese Fried Chicken - Ordered the 4 piece fried chicken, half with the Aburaya BBQ sauce, and other half with the Japenese Curry dry rub (costs $1 more to split flavors). The BBQ flavor was amazing, the Curry one, not so much, but still so juice and tender. I believe they use chicken thighs and thats how they get their chicken to be so moist and flavorful. You can also ask for rice and greens for extra, but well worth it! Its a lot of food!-Revenge Pies - Ordered the Apple Pie and it was solid. Cinnamony flavored and the apples were cooked perfectly. The crust was bomb as well! A perfectly executed apple pie, and they also put some whipped cream on top as well!*** Did Not Really Enjoy ***-El Porteño Empanadas - Was expecting a juicy beefy taco pocket style empanada but did not get that. The beef one was a bit dry and had too many miscellaneous veggies inside and didnt really taste that hearty to me. The chimichurri sauce was a tad bit too oily as well.-This one Argentina BBQ Skewer place (totally forgot the name) - The skewers were salty af...they ran out of flavors (it was barely 8pm... and the chicken was super dry as well, totally nuked out overcooked...wish I remembered the name...total disappointment!Off the Grid happens every Friday during the non-winter months from 5:00p-10:00p. A MUST try!! They also serve alcoholic drinks!! Beers, wines, cocktails, well drinks, etc.
