We came in right around when I imagine the Sunday lunch rush had ended because for the moment we were the only two in the entire establishment. Things that stand out, the atmosphere is great. Being next to a busy intersection youd expect a lot more road noise but it was relatively quiet inside. Great, and quick service.I can certainly see myself becoming a regular here because their chicken teriyaki is delicious. While the food was great my only gripe is parking. Good luck, and if you can park nearby its worth the walk.

Service, quality and quantity used to be really great. Portion sizes have gotten a lot smaller, seafood for the sushi sliced super thin. Service was super slow and never came to check on us. Maybe an off night?

The Salmon sashimi was delicious. My favorite item on the menu. Reasonably priced (4 pc / $10.95). Inside is a lot nicer than outside curb appeal. I recommend this place.

We’ve eaten here a few times now and the food is always delicious! The sushi is good, the hot food is good, and the vegetarian and vegan options are diverse! It’s a crowd pleaser!! Fast and friendly service, too.

Went here this past weekend and of course took it home. It was about 40 with two miso soups and tip. Portions could be a bit bigger. But not by much. I would have liked more fish on the rainbow roll instead of shrimp. Tekka maki had one little guy (1st picture bottom right of the Tekka maki)overall I’d come again.

Just get the rolls here, no sashimi or nigiri. Tried the sushi sashimi combo, really disappointing. Low quality fish, high prices. I dont mind paying $22 for a chefs choice but when I can pay the same at other joints for fresh fish it feels over priced here. The standard nama roll was alright.

Good food, but horrible service. We came on a Sunday night. It wasnt too crowded when we got there, but more people came as the evening went on. They had only two servers working. The food I got (tendon) was really good and my friends food (sashimi bowl) was good, as well. But the servers were not attentive at all. Not once did they ask if we wanted water refills or hot tea refills (except at the end when we got the check... O_o;). They forgot my salad and didnt give it to me until AFTER we got the entrees and I told them about them missing it (it should have been given with the miso soup). We also had to wait forever for the check and had to flag down one of the servers. I enjoyed the food, but the service was terrible. I might just get take-out next time if I ever go back. Its not worth eating in the restaurant when they are so short-staffed and slow.

The fish was fresh, delicious, and served at the right temperature. The rice in the nigiri was a bit hard and cold; it can use some improvement. The few special rolls we had were very good.Our server was bogged down by takeout orders at the start, but was responsive once she came to our table.Overall very happy with the experience and will definitely return.

For having such a robust and varied menu I expected way more. I ordered the toro which should always be melt-in-your-mouth tender. But this was tough and chewy. Just awful. In fact, all of the sushi had that tough and chewy quality. Dont be fooled by the great looking menu. You can skip this place.

I went here with two friends. We were welcomed as soon as we stepped into the door. Ordering was a simple process, we used a QR menu. The food was quick and tasted great. All the rolls and appetizers came out quick, a friends yakisoba took a little bit more time though.Recommend it for sure.

The food was pretty good. They had these little flip cards with pictures of all of the rolls so you could see what each one looked like. I really liked that because I’m a visual person. They had very large pieces of sashimi so you really get your money’s worth. While the sushi was good, I wouldn’t say it was exceptional. The crab meat in the California rolls were mixed with a lot of mayo which was gave it a weird texture and taste. However, the other rolls were pretty good.

This is my second official review of my series: Lunch in the Creek. I went on Yelp, typed in lunch and searched for the top rated lunch spots. What did I find? Check out my list.Ive been enjoying sushi for a number of years now. I havent always been a fan, but I know what I like. I normally go with the more American sushi rolls, but I can appreciate some more authentic sushi too.Since this was my first time here, I saw that the Ryan roll was popular on Yelp and I also decided to get a California crunch (a old fave of mine). While many of the reviews are true (this place is pricey), Ive never been disappointed spending extra for some good sushi and this place has some good sushi.The Ryan roll is just wow! The flavors mix perfectly and thats what I love about it. There is a lot going on there and it is definitely unique. The crunch roll had the perfect slight crunch to it, while not taking away from the rice, sushi and avocado. Both had a spicy sauce that added a much appreciated, extra kick. The rolls are what I would call standard size, about 10 rolls total.I wont be coming here often, but Id definitely come again.

This is a decent restaurant by normal standards and I know several people who like this place quite a bit. That being said the quality of the sushi just isnt up to my standards. If it were on the cheaper end maybe I would be willing to look past it. If you can make it to Walnut Creek go to ikoi instead. Itll run you about the same price and the quality of the fish is twice what Nama can offer.

I placed a phone order and was able to pick up the 5 different rolls I ordered in under 40 minutes. While waiting for my order to be packaged, I took some time to notice the multiple signs around the restaurant that had rules for COVID-19. I was impressed how serious this restaurant is taking the pandemic and ensuring that indoor dining can be safe. I appreciated the staffs kindness and awesome customer service. I ordered the crunch california, spicy crab crunch roll, california roll, unagi, and ebi. They were all made with fresh ingredients and were all delicious. I felt really satisfied with my order and experience picking up. I will definitely be ordering again especially because its only half a mile from my house!

Consistency is key here. I have been going to this Nama location for many, many years and have never had a single bad experience. My favorite sushi spot to this day that I compare all others to. Love roll, Ryan roll, Dynamite roll all A+. Nothing a bad choice here.

This is our favorite sushi place in the area. The specialty rolls are great. My favorite is the mango lobster roll but try say the Ryan roll or the Harry roll as well. Havent had anything I didnt love. The place is usually packed with locals. I wish theyd get rid of the TV; I always make sure I sit where Im not facing it.

I love Nama Sushi, their food is great. When I eat at Nama Sushi I like to order their Spicy Crab Crunch roll, California roll, & their Teriyaki Chicken Entree. I also like how you can see the sushi being made fresh right in front of you at the sushi bar. If you are looking for a place to eat good sushi, I recommend Nama Sushi

We love the food here but, on our last outing I was surprised to see that the bill included 18% tip, we had several teenagers with us so it was not a cheap dinner. I believe the amount of the tip should be left for the customer to decide, we should not be forced to pay a higher amount.

In these times I make allowance for all businesses because of the generally caring question we all have in out heads, how can a person expect a restaurant replicate their food service experience for a takeaway order?. The result of my order this trip took the caring question and moved it close to an answer Nama Sushi Pleasant Hill has problems with food quality for takeaway that is probably the same for food ordered in house.Chicken Yakitori Skewers overcooked. But otherwise well presented. Two short skewers with pieces that I thought were a bit under sized. May this lead to the overcooked nature. Did not present a good value in my opion. I would be hesitant to order again.Agedashi Tofu. Under-cooked. Coating still powdery to the tongue. No scallions. No radish. A little too skimpy on the Katsuobushi. No single serve packet of Togarashi to go. But really it was the over coating plus under cooking that has me eating one piece and then tossing the rest in the trash. I would not order this again.Maguro Sushi. Excellent! I would order again.Unagi Sushi. Substandard. No cooked the way I am used to at other locations. I would even say a little too dry and crispy for some parts of the eel. No dressed in the container. Nor was any sauce included on the side. I would not order this again.Sauces, garnish, sides for the sushi part of my order were appropriate to the order and of good quality. Nice!Packaging and utensils provided for the order were appropriate.My order was picked up by me and transported a couple of block away to the house. So rough handling and time spent in a vehicle by a gig delivery service is not a factor in my review.For a $50+ dollar order after tip I dont feel the money spent represents a good value. And it wouldnt lead me to think Nama Sushi Pleasant Hill could provide good in-house experience either when restaurant dining resumes. Hopefully this is a one-shot experience. But I would hesitate to order from Nama again and would probably travel to find a better takeaway sushi experience at some other business.On a positive note, my friend enjoyed and was satisfied with her saba plate order.

We live in the neighborhood and come here often as the food is consistent and good. Today we brought guests from Hawaii there for lunch to try our local sushi bar. The place was filthy! The carpets looked as if they hadnt been vacuumed for days. The table was sticky. We were told that was the finish on the table but it did come off with water and a napkin. Never again!

Best sushi place in the East Bay! Luckily I live just a few blocks away, so I can stuff myself on tasty sushi whenever I want! I really like the Zesty Roll and the Love Roll, and the teriyaki chickin is amazing also. Be careful about peak hours though, because this place can get hopping!

I tried to order a salmon skin roll but I got this roll with burnt disgusting salmon that I threw away. The only thing I could eat was agadashi. I called and spoke to the lady who took my order and said she had repeatedly asked me if that was correct? What a liar! I hung up and never going back.

Theres not a lot of Asian food in the area, so this is where I go if I want to get some sushi, ramen, or some noodle/rice dish. People are friendly and service is not bad.
