You must have patience to eat here. However you will be grateful once you bite into the several layers of cheese and pepperoni. Then the crust takes it up a notch to delightful. The pie is worth the wait. The buffalo wings are spicy but delicious. Great service!

I first ate here in the early 90s. It was a great place with great food.I was back in town this week and stopped in to eat here again close to 30 years later and the food was every bit delicious as I remembered!!Great staff and one of the best pizzas Ive ever had. I wish there were more family owned places like this where I am living now.Hopefully I can return again soon.

Ive heard about this place before and finally decided to try it. Very comfortable and clean restaurant. The food and service was above my expectations. As soon as I got there I was greeted and sat on a booth. I was even given recommendations. I got the Petes buffalo wings and the spaghetti amatriciana with shrimp. Very tasty wings and the pasta was amazing as well. Haley was the server helping me out. She was very attentive and friendly. Her service was above and beyond. My whole experience was. The restaurant is well lit with plenty of fans for air circulation. Theres an AMI music jukebox if you want to put music. Theres a very nice full bar as well. The restroom is very spacious & clean. I will definitely be coming back. This might be my go-to for Italian food. As a San Diego native, I wish I would have known about it earlier.

Overall, Napoleones is a fantastic place to grab a tasty meal from without breaking the bank too much! Ive both done dine-in and take-out with them, and every experience has been absolutely pleasant!The staff are friendly and experienced. Theres been a few times when they were also able to make solid recommendations from their menu and have not disappointed!The atmosphere is very reminiscent of humble beginnings and a type of local charm that I love, personally.Ive never had the pleasure of dining with them for breakfast, but every experience with lunch and dinner has been the best for both me and my family!Napoleones Pizza House is a local restaurant that I am proud to visit often, knowing I leave with a positive vibe and a good meal.

Delicious food, friendly service, and clean. We had a large group and ordered salads, wings, spaghetti, and pizzas. They did a great job serving fresh food in a timely manner. Didnt give a fifth star because I found the pizza salty for my taste despite me being a salt lover. I will go back and see if it was the day or just their recipe. Still enjoyable pizza and everything else was five stars!!!

I thought I was just going to be having a nice mom and pop pizza and it turns out this is one of my top slices of all time! I ordered a pizza to go and they were kind enough to make it even 5 minutes after the restaurant had closed I think, they handed me a box and I swear I needed both hands to carry it and Im a strong man! Last time I had a pizza where one or two slices maximum would fill up a grown man was when I was in Manhattan about 30 years ago and this pizza was just as good as any back East slice. They also had so many other things on the menu and all looked very delicious. A very great value as one pizza fed two people one night and I had slices with my son on two consecutive mornings as it was even better cold the next day! I would order an extra pizza if I was you to have cold slices the next day or two because its really good either way hot or cold, excellent ratio of cheese to crust and such a nice family who runs the place. Give it a try and tell me what you think

Maybe I came in at a weird time, but I wasn’t super impressed by the food or service here. The pizza was decent, though the crust left something to be desired. The salad was a bit overpriced for what it was. My favorite item was the carrot cake.The service was spotty and the waitress was absent for long periods of time even though there weren’t that many people in. That said, the cashier was really nice and helpful.Overall it was a fairly mediocre experience. There are a lot of other pizza places I’d recommend over this spot: Tribute, Bronx, Lefty’s, and Regents are all places I prefer. Again, maybe it was an off day. I’d recommend going elsewhere for a great pizza and experience, however.

Best pizza in the south bay, use to come here as a kid, now I am bringing my own son here now. Alot of happy memories, still keeping it original. The chicken parmesan is a must have. They are not shy at all with the meat on the sandwiches, I believe i had the Sicilian sandwich. Love it!

So I have been looking for a good pizza place in San Diego and to be honest I have yet to find one that I really enjoy. This place had good Buffalo wings I would give a 7 out of 10. Not too much sauce which made the chicken even better. But the pizza was a 4 out of 10. The cheese was cheap and they put too much of it on. That why it’s so greasy that the cardboard box soaks it up until it’s soggy. The crust is spongy and cheap and reminded me of pizza crust of military cafeterias. The entire thing just tasted like a salty, cheesy, cafeteria pizza.

I really do not like doing this but, I was staying close to Napoleones and reading their website, it says making quality pizza for decades. There are three things that make a good pizza, dough, sauce and cheese. Napoleones didnt get any of them right. Horrible and in fact, it gave me food poisoning as well as two other people who ate it. There was no taste to the sauce (also watery) or cheese and the cheese was so thick it fell right off the pie, in one piece. Who doesnt like cheese right? Too much cheese is also disgusting, if the cheese is poor quality or imitation especially. I picked it up, so no comments on service or atmosphere. You need to get pizza making lessons, it was terrible.

I dined in for lunch on a Wednesday, I was the only customer for most of my meal. The Food was better than I expected, portions werent as big as I was hoping them to be. The pizza here is not good at all. The pizza has no flavor, and is overwhelmingly salty!!! I literally needed 3 bottles of water to get threw a few slices. The cheese they use is BEYOND cheap because it’s unbelievably salty!!! Would not recommend.

Wanted to try a local spot while I was down here and saw there was a place close that had pizza...and its pizza, how can pizza be bad...ordered a Buffalo chicken pizza and normally I wouldnt get something like that but I was coaxed to give it a try by my date...got back home and wow...the staff was very nice and the pizza was great..and I was told by my date that it was one of the best pizzas theyve had. Went with 3 other coworkers who exclaimed it was the best place they had during our stay in San Diego (came all the way from Maine). I am inclined to agree that the service was friendly and the food was very well done. The crust is crispy, with the toppings being on top and under the cheese. Reasonable price made it a highlight during our time in San Diego. After trying out multiple different restaurants of various cuisines, I would love to come back here when I visit San Diego again.

Napoleones is one of our favorite spots for pizza. The service is always good, the staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the food never disappoints. Its a hidden gem with lots of nostalgia and a pleasant atmosphere where friends and family can enjoy each others company while sharing a few slices of pizza. The menu is simple but with enough choice for most everyone to find something theyll enjoy. The prices are more than reasonable and while the parking may be a bit challenging, its worth it.

I paid $30 for one of the smallest, least enjoyable medium pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust was hard, the cheese was way too thick without adding anything to the flavor, and the sauce tasted like Ragu. Im reading the other reviews and feel cheated! My experience just made me sad. In my heart I knew I should order Mr. Motos but this place was cheaper, and had a similar rating. I used delivery since my toddler was napping. When i grabbed the box from my delivery lady I noticed it was soggy in the corner. When i opened the box most of the cheese was off the crust and in the corner of the box instead. I used a fork to scrape it back on top. I then realized there was no safety sticker to ensure the seal wasnt broken during delivery, there was no three pronged little table in the middle for stability or a paper sheet under the pizza to minimize grease soaking into the box. I now begin to worry about germs. Delivery lady seemed nice enough but she could have opened this box and done anything. I decided I needed to quickly eat a couple slices so if I were to get sick I would know before feeding any to my toddler after nap time. Pizza tasted like cardboard with some bagged mozzarella cheese (versus fresh) and canned tomato sauce that wasnt seasoned. I feel confident Ive had better pizza at Chuck E Cheese on the east coast. I added some basil, oregano and red pepper flakes to try and produce some flavor. It still makes me sad eating it but I dont feel bad physically so Ill give the rest to my toddler. Her palette isnt that sophisticated. She does enjoy well seasoned lamb chops but also ate some boxed mac n Cheese that spilled on the floor yesterday. Shes quick. I seem to be in the minority so maybe avoid delivery and youll have a better experience.

Update: remodeled- looks great. They have their own parking lot now. Peter is still in the kitchen and Tom Waits is still on the juke box. Theyve spruced it up, but it still evokes the 1950s. Good, inexpensive menu. If you like chess on your pizza this is your place.

A family favorite since 1970. Celebrated many family events at Napoleones. There have been many changes at this location over the years, but recently I ordered my favorite item (no longer on the menu) provolone sandwich. They graciously made it, basically the torpedo no meat, and it was BOMB! Its amazing that over 50 plus years of coming here, this place still impresses me! Pizza is great too!

Been coming here with my family since I was a kid and always loved it. Yesterdays experience was disappointing. Ordered pizza- one of them a Margarita for the vegetarian. They gave us a meat lovers. We had to drive back in 25 minutes to pick up a new one. Got there and they had forgotten to make it so we had to wait another 15 minutes. 0 compensation was offered besides a ‘sorry about that’. They could have offered a glass of wine or a soda at least while we waited. Or breadsticks for the starving vegetarian that had been waiting to eat. Food was great though- as always.

My family has been a customer of Napoleones Pizza for over 45 years. I fondly remember the good old days with Joe and Sal. Recently, my family of four generations held a Family Reunion at the restaurant. The young waitress was very efficient in handling all the needs and requests of all participants from age 9 weeks to 82 years. The Beer, Pizza, Pasta, and Soup were all magnificent, as always. Joe and Sal should be proud.P.S. I like the new expansion, too. Well done.

Just went in for the first time today and was sadly disappointed. We ordered to go and the staff was sweet. My husband is military so we got the 15% off military discount which we appreciated. Had a fantastic experience here for the first time. I was hungry enough to eat a sandwich and order a pizza to have leftovers for later...no regrets! Taake was my server, and gave me great information. If you are nearby, you have to stop in and grab a bite!

Soooo good! Kids had a super cheesy cheese pizza and we had The Works, both were amazing! Bonus, the staff is terrificly awesome (I think about everyone participated in dabbing my 6 yo back, which absolutely made his night)!

Had dinner there with my kids the worst service. The waitress (Arlene)didnt ask my kids if they wanted drinks I had to ask for them. My mom ordered lasagna she never got it when we asked shr said let me see and said no sorry do you want me to put in a order I said no its ok cause we were almost done with the pizza she didnt come back and ask if we needed anything she was on her phone the whole time. When I asked for something it seemed like she was bothered. I have been going here for 30 years never had an experience like his before.

Ordered chicken pesto sandwich through UberEats. The sandwich was super fresh, cheesy, lightly toasted and tomatoes on it were so tasty. It just wasnt that big and it didnt fill me up so I wanted another one. Really good sandwich!

The food and service are first class. I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the history of this restaurant. The food isnt bought from a restaurant supply store it is made on site. I witnessed them transferring tomato sauce from a 60 quart pot to a storage container to put on the pizza.

Awesome place to eat fresh pizza and old fashioned cheese cake! We almost pasted it up from the outside because it looked plain, but once in side we realized what a gem this place is. It is a quaint place with a homefeel to it, obviously a favorite for the locals as it was busy. Even with the place over half full/ being spacious also, the staff was plentiful and pleasant. They even had TVs to watch the game and a juke box for music. Wall art depicted history of the place which we found to be just the right touch. We absolutely loved the works pizza and the cheese cake beat out our cheese cake experience from the cheese cake factory the night before! Would recommend this stop to any family and friends in the area.

Sorry guys but not the Greatest. Pizza cheese burnt. 2 pieces of salami in a house salad..they called that anti-pesto salad..not happy..order was wrong on the sandwhich and I had better. Everyone that worked there were miserable and unhappy.yelling at the kids playing games to be quiet and giving me dirty looks because i was standing and reading the happy hour menu. Top it off they tried to over charge me during happy hour. This place is miserable unhappy and the food is rubber. Wont ever go back..dont mean to be rude about but i felt uncomfortable there. Im certain the owner is a kind person.

Its been a long time, since Ive been here. It was a Great place for eating, pool, and Music, back in the days. I stopped by Yesterday for pizza, and Wings, and cheese cake to go. This is a very cool place! You get the feeling that all the employees are from one big family and that they enjoy working here! The prices are unbelievably low. They serve beer and wine, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and pasta dinners. Open Monday - Saturday 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM. They have a pool table and a juke box with many of Waits tunes. Check out the picture of Tom and Sal (the owner) taken in 2002! I had a 12 Torpedo for $3.95 and it was the best that Ive ever had! Im not kidding! It was damn good!
