Midafternoon crispy noodles with soy beef - very nice lowkey late lunch. Multiple hot sauce options at each table - a veritable cauldron of chili crunch (see photo). Sadly no nondairy option for the This iced tea. Quick service, reasonable prices, will be back.

We were visiting Santa Barbara and found this restaurant with good reviews. It was in old town Goleta and the inside was not fancy. It was busy during lunch on a Friday. The restaurant seemed small from the outside yet they had many tables. The menu has a variety to choose from and reasonably priced. The service was fair and fast. We definitely plan to come here again when we visit.

Delicious noodles in a hurry. This place is about one thing, and that thing is FANTASTIC noodles!I order (2) #42 Spicy Beef Rice Vermicelli Soup and (2) #35 Rice Vermicelli with BBQ Pork and Eggroll for a hearty meal and leftovers for two.This is the perfect spot for getting take out after work, or grabbing a quick bite during lunch.

The food is absolutely delicious and I loved going here but I got pho today to go and saw a cockroach while I was there. I then found a cockroach in my soup only after I was almost done and then got super sick. I adore the food but Id steer clear for health and safety.

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. I’ve been going here for years, since college. It’s almost like a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, and def the best Vietnamese restaurant in town in my opinion, food and price wise. I’m so happy they were able to keep open. I tried to support them as much as possible during the pandemic.

I’ve lived in Goleta for 2 years and went to Noodle City for the first time tonight. This is hands down the best Vietnamese food I’ve had since I moved here. My partner had the pho and was also blown away, because we’ve tried pho from so many places around town and have never found one we liked much until tonight. Will definitely be returning

Worst experience ever with the manager/server. What ever he is, he was absolutely rude to me from the beginning. What ever happened to customer service? He basically rushed me out of the restaurant as well. I see other comments about the waiter being rude as well...... I dont recommend this place at all.

Not baby/toddler friendly and poor service by a rude waitress.We arrived at a quiet time with very few patrons. I am over-the-top polite with servers, so when I asked if we could order appetizers while we figured out our main orders, I was surprised that the waitress snapped wait a minute. This was the start of poor service by her.My group had 2 toddlers, and the restaurant had no high chairs (thats okay, they arent required to have them). Being adaptable to situations like these, we brought in 2 strollers for the little ones to sit in. Again, the restaurant was mostly empty.As people started to file in, the waitress told us to move the strollers a total of 3 times to accommodate others. We abided by this, but noticed that there were 2 tables near the register that were piled with take-out items. They could have cleared these tables easily to make room for more patrons.After we had paid and tipped generously (my mistake), we were getting up to leave, when the waitress barked at us to move the strollers again. She did this, even though she saw us all standing up to leave!I have only ever left 1 other google review in my life, so I dont take this lightly. The food was okay, but the service was awful. The waitress could have been a little more professional and accommodating, but thanks to her Noodle City has lost 5 customers.

This is one of the only Vietnamese restaurants left in town now, and the prices, quality of food, and service is very fast and delicious- even if they are very busy. My only remark about the establishment is that I feel a little rushed as soon as I enter the restaurant. I understand that the staff want to keep the pace of the restaurant quick and easy, but the servers are not very welcoming- when I asked what some dishes were, the descriptions were vague. They constantly wanted to take my order as soon as I sit down and what come back every minute, when I would like to look at the menu and discuss with my partner what we would like to order. I was a waiter myself for a couple years, so welcoming someone to the establishment and allowing a bit more time to look at the menu is key if you would like your customers to keep coming back ;)

I been here twice at first it was busy so I thought that was the cause for the bad service. Theres this younger guy he is either the owner or someone of importance. I asked for a recommendation but he pretended that he didnt speak English. A girl approached the table and try to help then started preaching her vegan style on me. Finally ordered my food took for ever and the same guy delivered it and put it on the other side of the table. Terrible customer service my guess all those reviews are fake this place sucks. . Dont go here there ate way better places in town.

Best Pho in the SB area. The broth is delicious and you cant go wrong with any of their soup selections. The restaurant is a little small, and parking in Old Town Goleta can be tough, but the service is good and prices are fair.I definitely recommend the Pho Nam and the Broken Rice Plates.

What an awesome place. They had electric issue when my wife and I was there but that didnt stop us from eating there. Even with the lights out, the food were ready in less than 2 minutes. The food was okay, it wasnt bad. The reason I am giving a two star is because when I was there, a young man came in to ask for a job as a waiter. I am assuming the manager that was up front at the time declined him the position because he was too fat and that the room inside was very narrow. I just believe this to be very unprofessional. Also it isnt well ventilated inside, it was overly hot with no ac and the door was just barely opened.

This place has been riding on the fact its the only pho around and they can dupe the students because students are always new in the area.The pho is actually really good. Not the highest quality gourmet, but for the price, very tasty.The manager is incredibly rude.The owner is incredibly nice, but you cant talk to him because the manager wont let you.Wed love for Noodle City to be a part of the community, not just skim off the continual easy prey of students. Theres a community fundraiser of a great food festival coming up. Its a great opportunity for them to win new customers. Despite their poor reviews, they said no to the community.Too bad.

Went there once and agreed with a lot of the reviews here, that the food was good but the owner was extremely rude. She was pacing back and forth from front desk to the back and was just yelling at her staff. No thank you were offered to customers who were paying their bills, just slamming the cash register drawer. Someone said that shes cool, you just gotta know her.. But when I pay to eat at a restaurant, Im paying for the food, comfy atmosphere, cleanliness and good service. Rudeness of any kind from owner, staff or servers are unacceptable. Her super loud yelling completely ruined my lunch. I finally just left money on the table and left, couldnt finish. But I also read a response from Tony that this rude female owner is no longer part of the business, so I will go there again and take my hubby with me. Hopefully, Tony will make this place worth the effort to dine. We will then be happy regulars and take our friends there too.

Came on a Thursday afternoon and ordered bun (noodles) with soy beef.Food: Not great. Vegetables tasted like they had been sitting around all day, noodles were dry but well cooked, soy beef was not bad. In terms of value, for the cheap $9 the meal was, Id personally pay twice for a good meal or cook a better meal for less money.Service: Frantic guy who looked like he hadnt slept or showered in days served dishes and gave checks.Environment: Started out empty with no music. Its well simulated by staring at a blank wall with no ambient noise. Staff was tired and on a get-through-the-day attitude. People came in after a while and started talking.I recommend this place for those who are both on a budget and in a rush. If you arent on a budget but are in a rush, Id recommend eating somewhere else. If youre not in a rush, cook your own food using fresh vegetables. Or, if you do visit, you know ... just know what youll be getting.

This place has very good food, but it is not he best in town.The biggest perk to this place is that it is the cheapest place in town to get Pho.It is still good enough to recommend people to try it. The soup isnt as flavorful as other places in town and the spring rolls are absolutely tiny. They consist of the same wrapper as other places but half the filling which makes the outside very chewy.

Best noodle place in the vicinity. Me and my best friend have been visiting here for the past two years. We always get the house bowl, or order number 16. As a highly acclaimed pho connoisseur, I think this pho was good. The broth had a slight soapy/floral taste to it, but the condiments were fresh. The service is rushed and the restaurant is very cramped. The bathroom is unsanitary and musty. The waiter was also very stingy with the limes. When I asked for more limes, he brought lemons instead.

Has anybody been at the Noodle City on Hollister Vietnam Restaurant?They have the best Vietnamese food in town. The service is terrible; the female owner is rude and impolite. What we do now is just order for pick up and don’t deal with the lady. Today I had my sister visiting and decided to go and eat there, the owner lady was in her worst mood. The first thing she said was” hurry up because I’m busy “very loud, the restaurant was not that busy by the wayThen she laterally slammed the dish in a hurry. My daughter was ready to walk away, I told her not to pay much attention. They rush us out …….then when is it was time to pay the lady push away my daughter out of her way, of course she got very upset and told her not to push her. My question is; is she like that with her costumers? I notice that there has been a couple of times my daughter had gone with her husband and she was extremely nice. The question is, she a Looney and why people puts up with that.One thing I know for sure, I don’t care how good the food is I am not going to pay to be treated like that.Business owners should keep in mind that they are in business because of the customer otherwise they wouldn’t be in business at all.

This place has a lot of great food however the noodle soups are what really makes them shine! Just be aware that the details are not the most descriptive and since there are not many pictures on the menu, it is hard to know what you will be getting unless you know vietnamese cuisine very well. This place is a good price for the amount of food you get, however be aware that their thai tea costs around $3.50 for a tea filled with ice and is not so big, but everything is really good!

This is the best Vietnamese place in Santa Barbara. My favorite dish is the crispy noodles - - combo of chicken beef and shrimp in a brown garlic sauce on top of wok-fried noodles. The noodles in the middle get soggy from the sauce while the outer ones stay crisp. Not spicy at all. Special note, their Vietnamese coffee is incredible, but not for the weak coffee bunch. It is extremely strong and sweetened by condensed milk. The servers want to make sure that you have everything you need even if they dont speak your language. It is not a fancy place, but wow, the food is great

2 stars not because the food is horrible, but because the staff are incompetent. We ordered two bowls of noodles and one sample platter which includes 2 spring rolls, 2 egg rolls, and 4 shrimp rolls. The menu says its $1 extra for the traditional lettuce condiments for the egg rolls (which comes free in every single pho restaurant except this one). The waitress repeated the order then reminded us of the $1 extra charge for the condiments. Few minutes later she brings out spring rolls only along with the condiments for the egg rolls. When we contested the order, she denied we ordered the sample platter (after having repeated the order to us just a few minutes ago). Why would we pay the extra dollar for egg roll condiments if we really just ordered spring rolls? After denying her mistake, she hastily left and later retrieved the rest of the order with no apologies. When the bill came, there was an extra slip stapled to our bill for another dollar on top of the original bill. Now theyre charging us $2 for the condiments. When we contested the bill, our waitress didnt bother to come. Instead the head waiter came and told us it was $2 for the egg roll condiments. So to cut the story short, he basically told us the menu is wrong and his waitress doesnt know what shes talking about, and so the extra charge stands...as an after thought. Obviously this bad review isnt about the $1 extra charge. Its about principle and courtesy, which the entire waiting staff lacks. Oh, and short term memory. First and last visit to this establishment.

If you have a craving for Pho while visiting SB / Goleta, this is the only place to go. Rich, tasty broth, plenty of options, fresh ingredients. Service is generally quick and no-nonsense. Place can get busy between 7:30PM-closing. Never had a bad meal here; always delicious. Sure its kind of a main street joint, but it gets 5 stars because theyre the best at noodles in town, and theyre not trying to be anything else.

I am a big fan of Pho. I can say this place has the best chewing feel noodles. The noodles were cooked to the best point that it is still chewy but never overcooked.The price is very nice as well. Large size pho combination is just 9.99 dollars. It has all kinds of beef plus tendons.The only downside is the hygeneity. The tables and utensiles are sometimes not that clean.

Great Pho. Thats what you go here for. Everything else is pretty much run of the mill. The service is nothing to write home about with the owner being the grumpiest woman you ever did meet. I suppose some might see that as endearing or as adding spice to the restaurant, but most of the time it just comes off as a rude attitude.Everything else about Noodle City is what one would expect: clean floors, fairly clean tables, and its hot in there. Very hot.Worth a visit if you like Pho. I have gone many times for precisely this reason.

Noodle Citys pho is complex and bright, the best pho Ive had in the Santa Barbara area. Everything Ive tried is done well: standard beef and rice noodle soup (pho), egg noodle soup, pan fried soft noodles, vermicelli bowls, and spicy combination soup.Menu item #42, ordered with rice noodles instead of the usual wheat noodles, is excellent. Its not that spicy and the flavors are exquisitely balanced. Ask for cabbage to put in the soup if they dont automatically bring it, and add chili oil for more heat.Ive been going to this place for ten years and still enjoy it every time. A while back, one of the owners noticed that I kept bringing new customers and dumped extra noodles into my bowl while I was eating ;-)I prefer Noodle Citys pho over other Santa Barbra area options by a long shot. However, for other Vietnamese dishes such as bahn mi and larger plated meals try Phamous Cafe and Saigon Noodle House.

Wack Vietnamese food, but barely any other Viet joints in town, so I guess the only choice if you have to give in to the craving. Pho has no smell to it, no aroma. Busy restaurant, but only 2-3 working. Mind you, the servers not only took order, served, bussed, and took care of things in the back end. Management wouldnt hire an extra body to help to save on wages of course. They were overworked. And Im in the service industry as well.
