China King restaurant
5915 Calle Real # b, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
Food is phenomenal! Service is quite litterally THE WORST ANYWHERE! 4 out of 5 times I have ordered they have confirmed my order over the phone, telling me to arrive in 15 minutes to pick up my order, only to have them pull my order from the wait check stack and submit it to the kitchen 20 minutes after I get there. The younger staff are rude. I dont know ANY chinese resteraunt where rice does not come with an entree. The teenage waiter ARGUED AND INSULTED a dine in customer who had the temerity to ask for the rice she was promised ON THE MENU. One of their delivery boys has a fake handicap placard that he uses to park in front of the resteraunt. Overall, I would give them 0 stars if the fokd wasnt soooo good! I am beginning to rethink whether or not the lack of service is worth the margin of food superiority.
Noodle City
5869 Hollister Ave, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
2 stars not because the food is horrible, but because the staff are incompetent. We ordered two bowls of noodles and one sample platter which includes 2 spring rolls, 2 egg rolls, and 4 shrimp rolls. The menu says its $1 extra for the traditional lettuce condiments for the egg rolls (which comes free in every single pho restaurant except this one). The waitress repeated the order then reminded us of the $1 extra charge for the condiments. Few minutes later she brings out spring rolls only along with the condiments for the egg rolls. When we contested the order, she denied we ordered the sample platter (after having repeated the order to us just a few minutes ago). Why would we pay the extra dollar for egg roll condiments if we really just ordered spring rolls? After denying her mistake, she hastily left and later retrieved the rest of the order with no apologies. When the bill came, there was an extra slip stapled to our bill for another dollar on top of the original bill. Now theyre charging us $2 for the condiments. When we contested the bill, our waitress didnt bother to come. Instead the head waiter came and told us it was $2 for the egg roll condiments. So to cut the story short, he basically told us the menu is wrong and his waitress doesnt know what shes talking about, and so the extra charge stands...as an after thought. Obviously this bad review isnt about the $1 extra charge. Its about principle and courtesy, which the entire waiting staff lacks. Oh, and short term memory. First and last visit to this establishment.
TAP Thai Cuisine
7060 Hollister Ave #106, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
If you want pricey mall Thai food from middle America, please do visit. Didnt expect this from a west coast asian restaurant. Super salty food, pretty sure they are using instant preparations as opposed to being from scratch. Id be surprised if the chef has ever been to Thailand.Oh and forgot, the portions are more appropriate for lunch at the mall.
Sushi Teri
5746 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
I love sushi! I love good sushi even more!Sushi Teri has great food. The menu is about 2/3 sushi with the remaining 1/3rd comprised of Asian fair hailing from different parts of the continent . Most of the food, however is a rendition of Japanese cuisine.I was impressed at how quickly our food arrived (party of 5 no less) without any sacrifice of quality.Another perk... its affordable. Good sushi and cheap sushi are different things. While I wouldnt call this cheap, I will say that its not prohibitively expensive for most folks. Maybe not every night but even as a penny pincher I definitely wouldnt panic at the thought of shelling out for the bill here on date night. My recommendation: The sashimi dinner is a great meal for those who want to go light on the carbs. My favorite, however is the sushi combo. It comes with 2/3rds the sashimi as the sashimi dinner but has an assortment of sushi instead. I like it because I get the best of both worlds for an almost identical pricetag. Each comes with soup, salad and rice.Drinking alcohol at restaurants can be pricey but if you want to loosen up while you sushi up they have you covered. 10 bucks gets you a massive 36 ounce mug of Sapporo beer. Even as a person who doesnt like the taste of alcohol I still enjoy a giant crispy Asian brew with my sushi. So there you have it. Worth a go if you are in the neighborhood. I try and eat there every time Im in town. I used to eat at Somethings Fishy in downtown Santa Barbara but switched because I liked Teri better.I dont know if He is still there but the last few times I went there was this old guy working the sushi bar who knew EXACTLY what he was doing. I think he may have been the owner. Anyway I thought it was fun to watch him work his sushi making skills so if you go by yourself or with a date (it would make for some great first date conversation during an awkward silence) I recommend sitting at the bar.
Saigon Noodle House
6831 Hollister Ave L, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
A surprisingly nice Asian food find in Goleta. A nice well rounded menu, very affordable and extremely great tasting food. From appetizer to dessert, every dish is delicious and memorable. They, unfortunately, do not have an easy way to order online for delivery or pickup. The only options are dine-in or ordering at the restaurant.
Panda Express
131 N Fairview Ave, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
I really enjoy the food at Panda Express but the portions are abitrary and inconsistent. This is irritating. A tall man orders the same thing as me and gets a much larger portion. Whats up with that?? Another problem is that they are so focused on getting people through the line that they dont fully attend to the person in front of them. Be present fpr each customer. The next one will understand as they, in turn, receive the best in customer service. Please, Panda Express Goleta (and elsewhere, and other service organizations) dont be in a rush to attend to the next person. We will all feel slighted and no one is well served by this approach. Havent you ever been customers yourselves?
Sushiya Express

Came with high expectations, left disappointed and dissatisfied.Had a bad experience at the restaurant for a first time. Not very inviting.Ordered a California roll and plain udon soup which was mostly covered in oil.The California rolls fell apart themselves and the soup wasn’t nice. It’s not a cheap place compared to other options around. Spent around 22$ for these two dishes.I even found a piece of aluminum or whatsoever inside my miso soup. The place seems to offer different Asian dishes but none of them being good enough.Quality of food: 3/10Atmosphere: 4/10Recommend(?) NoPrice: $$
Uniboil Phresh Teas Co.
5599 Hollister Ave unit b, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
First time visiting and even really trying a hot pot focused restaurant. Did not disappoint. Broth was excellent and I loved that you could add in all numbers of extras. I got two eggs and udon noodles with lamb. Even just having lamb on the menu impressed me. The flame went out on my hot pot without me noticing so I had to get it relit and took a while for my eggs to cook but overall it was excellent. Would be nice if they were able to serve some beer or sake with this great food. Ill be going back, love to see Asian food getting a foothold in Santa Barbara.
Nikka Fish Market & Grill
5722 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
Excellent food. Everything was delicious, fresh and hot. You order at counter, pay, then food & drinks come to you. It helps to know what you want if you're in a pinch for time, not our situation while on vacation. Ordered 1/2 dozen of raw oysters on half shell, they were delicious. Tasted like Hama hama's for sure, the distinct mellon finish and they were very fresh. We had calamari as an appetizer, personally I'm not a fan of the giant rings & prefer the smaller bodied squid, which are more tender & not stringy. Aside from that, the shrimp salad my wife ordered was excellent, my ahi Tuna sandwich was excellent and the fish and chips.... well, how can you mess that up. I'd go back, the cioppino looked amazing & I want to try it.
Lao Wang
6530 Pardall Rd SUIT.B, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
Excellent restaurant to try some great Asian food. I tried their Vegan lunch (Rice noodles with toppings) Vegan Soybean Chicken and Tofu buns. High quality and tasty ingredients are used throughout their menu. Most dishes do contain peanuts so please be sure to ask if you are alergic. They have a mini section for free sauces where you can get sides of spicy mayo, chilli oil, soy sauce and peanut sauce.
