Really tasty noodles and friendly staff! We got the scallion pancakes and salt and pepper chicken wings for appetizers. The scallion pancakes were odd and not a lot of scallions. The noodle soups were all incredibly tasty and the portion sizes were great! I got the beef noodle soup which had really tender pieces of beef and long hand pulled noodles. My bf ordered the noodle salad which wasn’t what we expected - they provided us with noodles and vegetables on the side and some soy sauce and chili paste to drizzle on top. My friend ordered the hot and sour noodle soup which was very flavorful. The chicken wing were very moist and crispy - I wish they came with a sauce on the side. Overall, great reliable neighborhood Chinese restaurant and will definitely come back when we are in the area!

Taiwanese beef noodle soup is ok. Xinjiang lamb soup is beyond our expectation.Not recommended for the Canton seafood stir-fly noodles, not authentic at all.Clean and easy parking.

Came here for dinner with my parents. Didnt really know what to expect from this place given the decor is very East meets West. How often do you find classic Chinese tea sitting next to bottles of red wine? After getting seated we very quickly found out that despite the appearance, this place serve some traditional Chinese noodle dishes. My parents and I all ordered a different noodle soup with a salted duck on the side. All of our broth was very flavorful and everything in it cooked perfectly. The owners were also very friendly and came around multiple times to make sure our meal was good! All in all, loved everything we had, and I would love to come back and try some of their other dishes.

I randomly found this spot and saw the Wor Wonton soup on the menu. Its hard to find so I decided to give it a try. I enjoyed it. Perfect dumplings filled with shrimp and pork in yummy broth. I like it with noodles which I will request next time.

Dishes here are excellent and of good size. Each noodle dish is very different than the others trying to highlight different regional styles of China. They also have good tea at really reasonable prices. It was packed when we stopped in for dinner and staff was a little frantic, but did really well overall. Highly recommended.

Delicious noodle soup, noodle and rice dishes and appetizers. The salt and pepper wings were hot and crunchy, though I would have liked a little more seasoning. Dumplings were hot and crispy. The broth in my seafood noodle soup was delicious and there were lots of prawns and pieces of fish. Only downside was the rice vermicelli. I would have preferred a better rice noodles, but it was fine.Overall a good meal. Friendly, prompt service. Worth going back.

If you wanna impress your girl or just hungry for some quality noodles definitely go here. One of the best tasting noodles Ive ever had in a while. I ordered a BBQ noodle soup and it was amazing. The atmosphere is really relaxing with slow beat music in the background. Staff and friendly and I had a really relaxing time here. Dont just take my word for it.

Quick and inexpensive, but quality wasnt that great. The portions are good, and so is the spice, but the meals arent as fresh as the name implies.The open kitchen is nice for transparency, but it also shows food sitting out for a long time before being prepared or served. The restaurant isnt very clean, the tables and menus are sticky, and the washrooms seem like they are only cleaned when the restaurant closes. Considering the staff use the same washrooms as the customers, I would think a higher priority would be placed on hand soap and paper towels. Dont worry, youll have plenty of time to think about it when youre on the toilet when you get home 🌶️🔥

Obsessed. The chili fish soup is on point with fermented bean curd as part of the base. I also loved the vegetarian goose which seemed freshly made as opposed to out of box from most places. Highly recommend - great representative of noodle dishes from China.

I bring my friends here for a relaxing meal. They have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free items on the menu as well as traditional Asian food. The servings are large here and affordable. The tea service is very pretty with a bamboo tray, glass teapot and teacups. The entire place is quite calm. I dont think Ive eaten there when it is busy. I havent been there in the evening. Oh, and theres free parking in the back or you can walk from BART.

Our go to place for enjoying well prepared dishes representing the regional cuisine of China. We love all the options from spice levels ( no spicy, mild, medium or extra), vegan options ( no egg add tofu) and vegetarian too. Meat dishes and gluten free offerings also make our friends happy. Added bonus is the streaming jazz and excellent customer service. Family owned & operated. They also have a second location on Shattuck in Berkeley.

Very good food. Would highly recommend. The Canton Sweet and sour chicken was very good (much of it still crispy by the time we got it home), as was the vegetarian fried rice. Weve had other dishes and have enjoyed them very much. The complimentary peanuts are really good too. They obliged my request for paper containers ( for all the dry dishes at least). From a Singaporean perspective, the Hainan chicken rice plate (a dish invented in Singapore) was not great. Granted It’s a hard dish to make. But the ginger scallion sauce was very tasty though. I hope they will switch to paper take-out containers as a default soon. The owners are very nice.

Taiwan beef noodle soup and green onion pancake. Beef was tender, noodles were thick & chewy, broth was rich and fragrant but not spicy. You have to adjust heat with chili oil. Green onion pancakes were not like your grandma makes (or most restaurants). Instead of dough rolled out thin and spread with onions then rolled up into a log, coiled and rolled into a disk and pan fried, this was three, layered moo shu pancakes with some onions deep fried until crisp through. Traditional ones are thicker and crispy on the outside but soft and flaky on the inside.

Ive been going to this restaurant since they first opened and I have always loved it. My go to dish is the Beijing Black Bean Noodles. Its great comfort food any time. The noodles and vegetable dishes here are very good. We took our vegetarian friends from out of town here for a meal the other day and everyone enjoyed it. We ordered the scallion pancake, vegetarian gluten puffs, vegetarian goose, vegetarian stir fry and the tofu ramen. For tea we had the herbal rose flower tea. I liked the gluten puffs the most.The owner Tom and his wife are very friendly. Sometimes during dinner there could be a longer wait for the food, but it’s made fresh so it is always worth it.Parking is in the back or on the street, but you are competing for spaces with the movie theater patrons a few doors down.

While not a vegetarian restaurant, there are really great vegetarian dishes here.The vegetarian version of the Sichuan Chili Fish 1000 spices soup may be the best bowl of vegetarian food in the bay area.The Ma Po tofu is also to die for. The flavor is off the charts insane.Everything else Ive tried from here is very well made. Chewy noodles, perfectly cooked bok choi, great stir fry flavors... you cant go wrong.They also let me bring in my own 9×5 pyrex containers with lids if I ever want food to go allowing me to skip all the waste that comes from to go situations.What are you waiting for? It was very cheap and even cheaper for a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. I wonder if they make their noodles in house because they were a very good consistency. I dont know what those other people ordered but my experience was horrible!!!I ordered jiangxi noodles. It said it was a rice noodle dish, and Thinking it might be vermicelli I asked if I could have fun (As in chow fun) noodlesThe wide flat noodles. They said yes BUT my order was chow mein (skinny egg noodles), and it was not only very greasy/oily it actually needed salt! No flavor, no ginger,garlic not even soy sauce flavor!!!! BLAND. The best thing was the free peanuts 🥜!!Horrible!! dont go here!

This is a beautiful and clean environment. The kitchen is open so you can see into it, and it is sparkling clean. The customer service is great, all the workers are nice and it tends to be very fast. Portions are very decent and the food is amazing. Although, I wish the garlic edamame had a bit more in it. Size aside, the garlic edamame is the best of that dish Ive ever had. Its not drenched in teriyaki sauce, and has very simple ingredients and is flavored to perfection. As for the other dishes, everything Ive had has been so good, and the ingredients are quality. I often order the Shaolin Temple Stir Fry, which has a rich buttery taste and good flavor, it has huge portions and I ordet it with tofu and the tofu is awesome. My partner orders the Hong Kong BBQ Pork Bowl, and loves it every time. Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants.

A delightfully surprising experience. We had no expectations - we were merely looking for a convenient restaurant near the El Cerrito BART Station - and happened upon Noodles Fresh. Not only were we struck by the unusual (especially for a Chinese restaurant) attention to detail (the decor; the ceramic plates, bowls, teapots; the menu items, etc.) but we were treated very well throughout our time in the restaurant. We enjoyed our food, which had a pan-Asian flair to the dishes we ordered. But most of all, we enjoyed chatting with the co-owner Tom Petersen who with his wife came up with the ideas for the restaurant and operate it day-to-day. Tom is a very well-educated, well-traveled man with an obvious fondness for Asian food and culture. He combines this with an appreciation for classic jazz and a knack for conversation. We hope to visit Noodles Fresh again very soon.

I love this place. Ive never had a bad dish here and the decor and ambience is quite nice. When I first ate here a year ago the service was sometimes spotty, but its matured a lot and is now reliably very good.Highly recommend the red tea, the Sichuan chili fish noodle soup, the Taiwan beef noodle soup, the Guilin beef stew, and the very impressive Hainan chicken. The dishes are well-seasoned and distinctive. Two people can have dinner with apps and a drink for $25 each. Not bad at all.

A very unpleasant experience! Noodles served to my guests and me were cold, dry, and oily, while they were supposed to be served fresh and luke warm. They were far from authentic and fresh! The surface of the meat sauce had a dry film that looked like the dishes were pre-made and exposed to open air for many hours - if not overnight. The bean sprouts were raw (uncooked) and smelt stale, and the cucumbers were dry too! We found it irony that the food served in this place did not match with its name Noodle Fresh. Due to health concern, we will never return to this place in the future.

Discovered Noodle Fresh on accident while in the area. We found the restaurant to be nicely decorated, inviting & clean. The menu was simple without the many dishes & menu pages you normally see in other Asian restaurants. The ingredients were very fresh cooked well. I had the Jiangxi Noodle salad as well as the shaolin temple stir fry (on different occasions). Both selections were very flavorful. The serving size for Shaolin temple could’ve fed 2 people & then some.Love the hot tea selections too. There’s also a little store towards the back exit that has beautiful tea pots & cups along with other Asian wares. There is some parking in back if the parking along the street is maxed.

My family quite enjoys this place, and I got to go with them recently for my first time recently and I also enjoyed it. They have a good number of items that are vegetarian and can be made vegan, and also a good number of items that can be made gluten-free. There is a small subset of these that can be both vegan and gluten-free, which made me happy. One of these was the Vegetarian Stir-Fry Noodles, which I got. It was good, though, perhaps a bit bland. Maybe it was a misunderstanding with our server, because she said that the dish normally comes medium-spicy, and I said I was fine with medium-spicy, but there was zero spice to it at all, like they had omitted the chilis for some reason. Oh well ... nothing a little Sriracha (which they have) cant fix.Lots of options for noodle stir-frys, noodle soup bowls, and rice dishes. A little bit of something for everyone. Even a nice list of appetizers, too.Service was good, and our servers were attentive enough. I would come here again.

Food is amazing-but CAUTION when parking in their lot!My rear car window was broken into and my trunk rummaged through.The lot does not have enough light and I suspect their lot was being cased. A thief can take their time in this lot as they know youre eating your dinner and their is not enough traffic in and out of the restaurant to deter them.I will be parking on the street next time.

After arriving at the restaurant 3 kids were behaving horribly. They were so loud and were saying horrible cuss words. One of the kids were Asian. Simply will be more assertive in flagging down waitstaff next time.Dont count on street parking but there is a parking lot in back.The Cerrito movie theater is just a few doors up, so makes for a great combo outing!

The place doesnt look like much on the outside, but on the inside its great. They have a wide variety of soups, noodles, and rice bowls to choose from. The inside has lots of little Chinese statues and is very comfortable.
