Noodles Fresh El Cerrito CA.Chinese Cuisine
10042 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
My family quite enjoys this place, and I got to go with them recently for my first time recently and I also enjoyed it. They have a good number of items that are vegetarian and can be made vegan, and also a good number of items that can be made gluten-free. There is a small subset of these that can be both vegan and gluten-free, which made me happy. One of these was the Vegetarian Stir-Fry Noodles, which I got. It was good, though, perhaps a bit bland. Maybe it was a misunderstanding with our server, because she said that the dish normally comes medium-spicy, and I said I was fine with medium-spicy, but there was zero spice to it at all, like they had omitted the chilis for some reason. Oh well ... nothing a little Sriracha (which they have) cant fix.Lots of options for noodle stir-frys, noodle soup bowls, and rice dishes. A little bit of something for everyone. Even a nice list of appetizers, too.Service was good, and our servers were attentive enough. I would come here again.

Hosanna Oriental Food
10028 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
I traveled from West Oakland to Hosanna, as I wanted to stop by an independent/small East Asian store before braving the grocery chains. I was impressed with the wonderful organisation of this store, and the well-stocked selection, especially considering the panic-buying going on! They have lots of water and canned drinks, as well as canned fishes, instant noodles, uncooked noodles, frozen/refrigerated food & desserts, basic veg, lots of seasonings, and fresh kimchi. When I came by, there was not the normal fresh/frozen meat available, but considering panic-buying I was not surprised. Very kind store-owners, who are an older East Asian couple. Please support your local immigrant businesses, like this one. Thank you Hosanna!
Roong Jing Jing Thai Specialty
10164 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
A nice little Thai market in El Cerrito, CA. Not too much of selections, but it does have what the family needs/wants. The pre-packed Thai foods are pretty good. We usually get the Northern Thai Pork Laab, I believe they were out by the time we dropped by. This dish contains pork liver. The dessert that we also usually pick up is the Thai cotton cake. During this visit, we picked up the Thai cotton cake, pork laab, flower-shaped cookies & rice crackers w/honey.Update: 04/30/2023We stopped by the restaurant next door today and decided to stop in to see whats left from yesterdays pre-packed food. We managed to pick up some more Thai Cotton Cake, pork laab and a few other snacks. Always a pleasure shopping here. Great service! ?
Yaoya-San
10566 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
My favorite place to go for Japanese grocery (especially hot pot ingredients and eggs), bentos, onigiri, rolls/makimono, side dishes, various sweet and savory buns, breads, desserts, etc… and household items. I've been shopping here for about 15 years and am always amazed at the selection. Now that they took over the adjacent store space that used to be a Japanese dollar store, the shopping experience is even better with the wider aisles and modernized displays for refrigerated and frozen goods. The staff is friendly and helpful. Many are at least bilingual. I also love that most of the people at the register know how to pack the items efficiently into your bags taking weight distribution and whether an item is refrigerated/frozen or not into consideration (like they do in Japan). Lastly Moser Square where Yaoyasan is located has plenty of parking too.
Bnh M Ba L Vietnamese Sandwich Deli
10174 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
If youre not Vietnamese read this review, because if you are Vietnamese in any way you already know this place is great... Friendly and fast folks working in this small store filled with Vietnamese / Asian snacks, drinks and the main focus is on tasty sandwiches! You know its good food and a great deal because its usually busy but the line moves very quickly. My favorite sandwich is the bacon, which is like a warm char siu /red around the edge of the meat, thick Sliced pork with the fat on it. Ive also had their BBQ char siu pork(red finely shredded pork) sandwich and their BBQ chicken sandwich, which is finely shredded chicken mixed with mild chicken like spices (dark yellow color). Those were both tasty but might not be what you think of as BBQ pork or BBQ chicken because they are so finely shredded. You can ask for the sandwich roll not to be toasted, which if youre eating it in your car I recommend because the crumbs will go everywhere if its toasted. Toasted or not its still a good and full sandwich with plenty of vegetables with the big bonus of having the sandwiches sliced green peppers not being too hot/spicy, unlike most Vietnamese sandwich stores. I havent tried the other sandwiches but the #2 seems very popular and as soon as I try others, I will list them here.A quick note about one of the other pre-made ready to go foods available besides the sandwiches, its their delicious raw young papaya (sliced thin strips) salad, because it is fresh and traditionally made, a very small percentage of humans might be a little bit allergic to the small quantity of natural latex like ingredients that can naturally occur in it. If you feel a tingling in your throat or breathing is affected stop eating it, even though it tastes So delicious.Lastly, I recommend everyone try a sandwich here. There are other food choices in this peppermint tree plaza strip mall but I think this is the best value for your dollar and it tastes delicious!!!
Larb Thai Food & Tapas
10166 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
This place is one of the most authentic Thai restaurants in the Bay Area. It is quite far from the city but it is worth a trip (you can also go to Thai grocery shopping a few doors away as well). The boat noodle and anything northeastern food are amazing!UPDATE 2024/4/8: Added some more photos. We tried the crispy rice ball salad and it is so refreshing with herbs and lime juice! It will be another dish I need to order every time I come here.
Trader Joes
225 El Cerrito Plaza, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
Just went in to pick up a few Groceries. Bread, Frozen Desserts, Quiches,Pizza and Fish etc. Had a question, by the bread Aisle. Guy namef Sam was there. Very Helpful and Curteous. A lot of Interesting Food. Another guy was singing and stocking Salads etc. Also - Very Friendly amd Nice. Nice Atmosphere - holiday coming up.Finally - got a Nice Cashier at yjis Location !!! Was more attentive and Service Oriented than most Recent Experiences here over the past few months. .I was there Sat. nite. July 1st. ar closing. Commented to a Manager/Supervisor Lady I got a Good Cashier - luckily !!!She looked a bit surprised, but was Immersed in Conversation witj a Fellow lady Worker. Never - stopped to ask if O had foind Everything o.k.....As seems Customary at this particilar location - A priority for Workers Up Front to Socialize, being Absorbed in doing so putting customers second .....Yhe Cashiers that is ....but this tome The Supervisor ....I dont think they Realize How Wrong this Behavior Is . Also - Extremely distracting for is all from the job pn hand ....It is A veru sensitive tome as Debit/Credit cards are beibg orocessed, Groceries need to be Bagged Appropriately - as per Customer Request etc. Also it is The Final Pont Of Sale....Its a Wonderful Store - too Customers finally have time to go in and stock up. ...More training needs to happen in Professional Check-Out care....thus the 3 Stars. Had a bad experience or two there in the past at check-out ! Customer feedback/Complaints via fine are taken lightly....Also - even with a nice cashier ....the General Noise Level up front from Unprofessional Other Cashiers/Baggers Socializing is S..o..o Loud ....gets hard to Focus.... !!!!!!
Gangnam Tofu Korean Cuisine
11740 San Pablo Ave Suite C, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
Great food, usually (but not always) great service. We love the naengmyeon and Gangnam chicken here; the prices are good, the servings are generous, and the food is delicious. The banchan are also plentiful and very yummy.Overall service has been very good here. However, we recently had a strange experience with one server (older woman with long dyed hair) that left us feeling awkward and not very welcome. We asked her for two small items (one sauce and one side of pickled radishes) that are very commonly provided (weve asked for them before here no problem) and each time, she immediately said no and gave an excuse why. We thought it was strange since weve ordered them before, so we asked another employee who gladly and quickly brought us the items we asked for (he was great). It was such a strange experience that we thought that maybe she was new or just didnt understand us, but the other server explained that they had to ask the kitchen for those items, which made it seem like she just didnt want to take the time to grab them for us. Again, these were just things that could be quickly spooned into a bowl and brought out to us, so it was very weird and left us feeling very awkward and uncomfortable. We will be happy to keep returning for the wonderful food, but hope we dont encounter this same server again. Thanks to the other staff that helped us and made us feel welcome!
Daiso
7000 El Cerrito Plaza, El Cerrito, CA 94530, United States
This is a nice Daiso store but not as big as the one in Japantown, San Francisco. The store on Market Street in SF is convenient but you have to navigate around the homeless to get into the main door. The selection is also limited. The Daiso in El Cerrito is in a good location near the BART station.Periodically I will go in there to see if they have any new knick-knacks for the home.I was in need of a strainer and I found a sizeable one for $1.50. It is stainless steel and just the right size to fit in a kitchen drawer. The real reason I go to Daiso is to pick up the plastic DVD holders. I have many discs that Ive lost sleeves for and these holders fill the void. Not many stores carry the holders anymore but theyre still in demand for DVD collectors like me.Im from the old school, so I know a bargain or two when I see one.
