O Sushi Newark in Newark

I really liked this place, it was quick and the food was good.I got the bento box with the nigiri option and chose the California roll and sesame chicken. The nigiri were good, they have the green low sodium soy sauce that I like.As for the chicken, it was delicious, very tasty and crispy.I was also given some miso soup, which was what youd expect. I couldnt finish it all and ended up taking some food home.

Like many others, Ive faced challenges that deter me from a complete dine-in experience. The last time I decided to visit, I was met with the sad sight of homeless individuals seeking refuge near the entrance. Such a scene tugs at ones heartstrings, making one wish for better facilities and care for them in the city of Newark.Parking, another concern, often turns out to be a mini adventure. The limited spaces in their lot force me to park farther away, adding a bit of a walk to the experience.While the food remains unparalleled, I genuinely hope that Newark takes steps to improve the overall ambiance around businesses, ensuring comfort for all its residents and visitors.

Ive only had one visit to this restaurant but from the single visit I can say that the sushi at this place is very fresh and really tasty. I ordered the #1 Roll alongside the Honeymoon roll and each one was absolutely delicious. The portions of rice/fish are fantastic! Def would order both rolls again.Prior to getting your food, they do offer complimentary edamame as well which is nice.The entire restaurant is pretty small so if this place get busy, you can expect a long wait. Enjoy!

Quick place to grab some Japanese style food.More often than not they are able to seat you - Ive never been here on a weekend dinner rush though.If youre looking for top service with top Japanese food - this isnt really the place (or the price! Lol) for that, ozumo in SF or Santana Row is my suggestion.My roomies and I normally grab a table and our own orders with some rolls to share. It looks like a vietnamese family bought it - our room mate used to work here.Service reminds me of a Pho restaurant If that makes any sense to you.Cut & dry - menus on the table. Place order. Refill drinks. Pay for the tab.Which Im fine with and is expected for that price range & I love going to Pho places (like Pho VN for you Union City peeps)Just for a comparison of service. We know what to expect and its just fine.I got the dinner set 1/2 rice bowl 1/2 ramen.I got my miso soup and salad first - both good. Spent the evening visiting family in the Newark area. Was looking for a great sushi restaurant. We found one. The service at this restaurant was stellar. As soon as we sat down, the waiter was at our table talking with about our sushi preferences. Three different people checked on us during our dinner. We ended up eating two fried roles, one crab role and one tuna roll along with vegetable tempura and green tea. Definitely a go to place when we visit again. The authentic Japanese interior design also added positively to the experience. Thank you for providing us with a great and memorable experience.

Neighborhood sushi joint with delicious rolls. I personally like M&M roll which is tuna, unagi, with tempura shrimp. Highly recommend! I got tofu which was fresh and soft but the sauce was a little bland for my liking. Nothing a little soy sauce won’t fix.

Great service, attentive staff. I ordered just two specials and there was no pressure to order more. I was well taken care of. The toro and tai were delicious! The best! I was blown away by how fatty the toro was!! The tai was fresh and light; good balance with the toro.

The food is decent but what makes this place standout is the service. They give you a free appetizer (today was edamame), and all the wait staff are always walking around checking on everyone, even those who are not your “designated” waiter. I ordered omakase and they apparently didn’t believe a single female could eat that much so they gave me kamikaze, but then removed it from the bill due to the misunderstanding (though it was funny because they kept confirming multiple times I truly wanted omakase, which is 40+ pieces of sashimi).The omakase is less chef’s selection and more comprehensive sampler, as it’s basically a couple pieces of every type of sashimi on a boat. Unlike other places that offer omakase, it’s a large quantity of food and comes with soup and salad as well so you definitely get full.Overall, it’s not the highest quality sushi but the service and value still make this place an excellent experience.

Great place for sushi. I was craving sushi last night and this place was quick to give me a table without a wait, though they were busy. Loved the service and the food. Its a small place so dont expect a hifi venue. I will definitely come back with my friends here.

In town for business travel and was delighted to find O Sushi open. Are fairly late too (9 pm)! Great bang for your buck sushi selection. Staff is top notch, friendly, attentive and helpful. Will be revisiting next time in town.
