Oshio is wonderful! I went there today and got the veggie bibimbap and the taro boba. The food was delicious and all the ingredients seemed really fresh. The taro was amazing and tasted like the taro boba from Gelayo, which I love. Everything was super good and the staff was nice. Its a cute atmosphere too with a great view of the plaza downtown.
Excellent food. The counter and ordering is a bit awkward. You are greeted by very high, blocked off counters when entering, look up at the menu and go to the far counter to order. Other than that, food is amazing. I hope they can survive. This town has been missing out on Korean food forever. My best friend growing up was Korean and Ive been missing her mamas food for ages. Not as good as that but, when you havent had tteokboki for 20+ years...its heaven.
We’ve eaten here several times and it is always delicious. Food is flavorful, soothing and nourishing. I recommend the Bibimbap (rice with veggies, egg, meat of choice, spicy sauce and side dishes) if you’re new to Korean food. We’ve tried the japchae, bulgogi, and sundubu as well and all have been excellent. Great portions and tasty complimentary side dishes with the entrees leaves you extra satisfied. Yummm!
Oshio is such a great place for flavor! I got the teriyaki chicken entree and the chicken was so juicy, not dry at all. It came with a few sides, one of them being Korean pickles and they were so crunchy and flavorful. The service was amazing as well, they’re happy to explain anything on the menu if you want to try something new. I also recommend the japchae, a glass noodle bowl. This is a must-try place!
Truly a five star food experience. The woman at the counter was very helpful explaining all the dishes, but what really made this experience great was the food! We ordered a beef bibimbap which came with a friend egg and colorful vegetables on a white rice bed. Seasoning and textures merged together beautifully in a somewhat bittersweet fashion as mixing together the ingredients absolved the once visually tantalizing presentation of the bowl. We also received a chicken kimbap roll. I had yet to experience a roll of sorts containing non-marine, land meat which actually faired better than expected. The roll slices had a freshness to it and a memorable color palette. The roll itself was a little on the bland side but paired with the kimchi which we also ordered amped it up a notch. The kimchi, to my palette, did not seem actually fermented but the flavors were so on point it didnt really matter. Oh and the crunch 👌🤤...We said thank you on our way out to one of the cooks who was charmingly gracious and grateful in response to our thankfulness.Overall it was not a perfect experience but I do not expect that as someone in the food service/hospitality industry. A five star experience nonetheless. Well worth returning or recommending to locals or people passing through.
Visited recently and ordered their Korean food. It was surprisingly good and IMO can compare to the bigger cities. Its definitely not the best Ive had but the best Korean food in Chico :). It fills the cravings and I will definitely visit again.
BRO the octopus is so good, love the rice they gave along with it. (Even asked if I wanted extra rice for no cost!) And has really nice seating. (Bar, high table, booth-ish tables.)
Delicious food and the owners are great! We had the veggie Japchae and the chicken Teriyaki. I will definitely come back often 👍

Oshio in Chico is amazing. Their pork Bulgogi is delicious. This is a great place to eat in Chico if youre hungry for Korean food. The staff are very nice. The place is very modern and clean. All around a great experience.

Try Oshio! It’s so cool to have an authentic Korean restaurant here in Chico. The staff is super friendly and efficient, and the food is amazing! You get generous portion sizes for the price, and the quality of their ingredients is high. As someone who is Korean, and grew up eating Korean cuisine, Oshio makes my heart very happy. I ordered the chicken bibimbap in a stone bowel. So delicious. It had a steamed rice base, red cabbage, carrots, cucumber, bean sprouts, chicken, lettuce, hot sauce, and a fried over medium egg on top. I may have missed some stuff because I inhaled it. It was so delicious. This is my first time eating here and I had to google some stuff, but the lady who took my order was very helpful and offered suggestions. The dining area has a very sleek and modern feel. When I sat down I noticed that there was not a lot of cushion in the seat but it was still very comfortable. We sat at a table that was connected to a few other tables, great for a large group or for people who dont mind sitting in a community like setting. It was very clean and beautiful. I wish I had taken pictures of my food, but it was gone before I could think of it. Thank you!!
Always have delicious food and great customer service. May be a bit on the pricy side but there’s a lot of hard work put in. If you can’t afford it, don’t go and complain online. Look at prices first before going. Lovely people and lovely place.
Food is fantastic and flavorful and the staff are really nice and super helpful with the menu (as a white guy I don’t know much about Korean food). Plus I Love having some more diverse food options downtown, not just another burger spot. Definitely recommend the bibimbap!

Best Korean food I’ve ever had! The steam pot bimbimbap is fantastic. The tkeokbokki is so flavorful and delicious! The customer service is great and the place is impeccably clean. So, so underrated, I love it.
I had the Thai chicken when I stopped in with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised the food and service was really good. Ill have to make it back sometime soon!
My bf and I ordered the tebokki, pork bulbugi and the beef japchae. Every dish had it own delicious flavor. Ate everything on our plates. Gonna have to come back and try the other dishes. Top notch Korean food in the area.
Absolutely amazing! The aroma intoxicated me on the drive home. Had the pork bulgogi, sesame chicken, and pot stickers so far. Absolutely delicious! Perfectly spicy. This food is WELL above the standard expectation from a food truck in Chico. The couple running it is very nice and I got my food quickly. Forever a favorite. They can never stop doing this now until I move away or die. Really really really good Korean food!

Delicious and fresh. Me and my Mom ordered two meals over the phone yesterday. I would highly recommend Bimbibap. I had it with beef, which was amazingly tender. The flavor soaked the rice well. The rice itself was cooked to perfection, which is difficult to find in Chico.

So amazing! Best Korean flavors I have had in many years. The kimchi is to die for. Short rib was a bit chewier than I like but seasoned well. However, the japchae was to die for! Passing through but would definitely eat here multiple times per week.
Really great Korean BBQ ribs, chicken teriyaki and pot stickers I definitely recommend trying this food truck! You get a lot of food for the price which is great as well! I do also recommend calling your order ahead if you’re in a rush at lunch or you can also check out the stores near by while you wait!
If you never had food from here before - make sure you call ahead to order, because you will not be able order at the window. Our first time here and we were greeted with a call to order sign.We attempted to order in the parking lot an hour before closing which personally i think its enough to fulfill an order especially if its not a traditional restaurant. But the lady was not happy and said she was very busy and seemed VERY hesitant about taking our orders assumingly because she was talking to other staff in the back during the phone most likely contemplating with them. She did offer to take our orders anyway and we proceeded to tell her what we wanted. She asked what kind of meat we wanted on the first thing we ordered. We chose what meat we wanted on the selection but then she declined right after and said that she can not fulfill that selection because it was too late to cook that specific meat.While i understand and try to be considerate of business operating times as i do try to be mindful of closing times because i know what its like working in the restaurant industry. If they ran out of a certain ingredient, thats understandable. But please do not provide an option and then decline right after and say you will not do it even though you have just asked if we want either or.Not a very tasteful first time experience. We decided not to order any thing after that conversation because i did not want to continue to hear her pick and choose what items on her menu she wants to prepare. I have no doubt they offer some yummy food. But hopefully there will be another time i will consider this location again.

I normally don’t do reviews but I was so surprised by this place that I searched it out! I drive by it all of the time and I finally decided to stop today and it was so worth it. The wait is a little bit but it’s fresh food so it’s definitely worth it. I got the potstickers and Kimbap (I think that’s what it was called) and loved it. It was only so much better than expected and the woman was so nice. Definitely worth trying.
This place is the bomb. Great prices, simple, delicious Korean food, and a very friendly team. I loved the glass noodles and pot stickers, can’t wait to come back and try the short ribs and kimchi!
The owners are always very kind and generous. There usually isnt a line around dinner time when Im on the way home. The food is delicious as well. Everything is made from scratch. I particularly like their fried potstickers!
Ive been going to Oshio for a few years now, I started getting their food when they were at the location near the plaza. The staff is super friendly, and have taught me korean words when I go to order. They make their kimchi themselves, and their best dishes are the Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes, order with kimbap for dipping!) and Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) call in advance for these orders - it takes them about half an hour since they make it from scratch. Their korean food is the best Ive had in northern california - and the friendly service is just the cherry on top. Theyre not cheap, moderately priced, but absolutely worth it since everything is from scratch, authentic, and insanely delicious.
Delicious Korean food, freshly prepared, and polite service. Try the Coconut Boba (like a coconut slushee) and Thal chicken or Bimbimbap. Order ahead 20-25 minutes to cut down on wait time.

Korean food can be hard to keep up with limited source of ingredients in small towns like Chico. However, they do real lovely work to get it done right! Thank you so much for being here and being authentic to the Korean culture!We know how difficult it is to run a restaurant. I am so thankful that I am having a good time!

2023-10-04 04:04:22This one of the best restaurants in Chico. Ive been in Chico for many years, following Kim from Broadway St to the food truck and now to their Main St location. Their food is truly delicious. The added sushi rolls recently. I look forward to more new dishes in the future. What I love even more is their facility – its incredibly clean, from the transparent kitchen to the dining area, and even the restroom is spotless.

2023-07-23 03:43:51I was surprised that the food was pretty authentic in flavor. It wasnt Korean fushion. It is cafeteria style where you order at the counter and they bring the food out. The soondubu hit the spot after a long trip from Oregon. A couple of improvements. The rice was served on a plate with the other banchan--side dishes. This is not traditional, and the amount was rice was very small. The rice wasnt cooked to perfection either, so this is an area of improvement. We were a party of 9 and some dishes came out faster than others so some of us were done by the time the other foods came. They also didnt really know what kind of utensils were needed for which foods. For example we were given only chopsticks for bibimbap when a spoon was required. They accidentally burned their last serving of sesame chicken, so one of the people in our party had to order something else. He paid the difference, but it should have been comped. The place was warm and a fan was running, which isnt so great in 100-degree weather. The other negative is that the two spouses were arguing and fighting. If you arent Korean, it probably wouldnt bother you, but we understood everything that was said. I would come back if Im in the area again despite all that was mentioned.

2023-08-25 20:29:13I’m so happy to see that Chico has an authentic Korean restaurant with flavors better than many of the authentic sit-downs I’ve been to in the Bay Area. The food is delicious and there are great options for both vegetarians and meat-eaters.The only downside to this location is its atmosphere leaves a little to be desired. The seating area is somewhat rudimentary - definitely more of a casual lunch place than a fancy dinner spot.Please visit this place! It deserves more love.

Yes, average of $15-$20 a dish might turn some people away but for authentic Korean food, it was worth it.All the food was good, especiqlly the Japchae.Jjajangmyeon was good but tasted similar to what I buy at Asian store for instant ones.Will come again to try different things.
