I hadn’t been here in a long time. Like 6 years because I had gotten food poisoning. All my other sushi places in town were closed or had a super long wait for takeout. So my son and I came to OZ thinking maybe it has gotten better. Well I didn’t get sick…. but I waited quite a while for our rolls. Which were good but the prices are absolutely ridiculous! I remember this place having really good deals but not anymore! California roll is $5 everything else is $9 and up most of them have not many ingredients and you’ll still spend $15 or more. Was craving sushi today got the Superman which my son had gotten last time. It was good but had a funny taste this time im currently praying I don’t get sick. Should have gone to matsuyama or checked the wait time at Kona hi. I never have to worry about getting sick there.
The food is great. But be very patient because the server is very slow. I asked for hot tea and it took just as long to get my appetizer even when waiting to order, it took 15 minutes before someone took my order. But once the food came out it was kinda worth the wait. I recommend you call your order in first and if u want to dine there its outdoor dining make sure its a nice day and you have your own libations (smh)
Let’s just say my husband and I will not be going back for the food or the service. It was awful service. I had to ask if I could have my drink 2 times before someone finally brought it to me and good luck if you need anything at all because you have to really flag them down to get any kind of service. The iced tea tasted moldy when I finally got it! The baked rolls were awful! They not only tasted horrible but they were so mushy that you couldn’t pick up a piece without it just falling to mush. The fried roll was burnt. We never got our appetizer. The floors are so sticky and loud! It’s like walking on duct tape! Overall it was not a good experience here on any level.
Been going for years. Used to be a great place, but they must be under different management. There salmon hand rolls used to be loaded with sashimi, now they were mostly rice with a paper thin slice of salmon with a touch of avocado. Couldn’t even taste anything but rice. I can see them going out of business soon. I will never be back.
Love the food here but it kind of smells bad in the shop. They also have fishtanks that are very dirty. I will definitely keep eating here because the sushi is good but dont get high hopes about the environment.
I had one of the most wonderful dining experiences of my life today. Casual atmosphere. Our server Elena was the best. Had great advice on new items and never missed a step with our table and the 3 others she was waiting on at the same time. Highly recommend this stop. Great food, clean, nice friendly people, and a great price. Will return soon.
Everytime Ive gone here it was always nice and the prices were never too high. I got three sushi rolls for no more than 30 dollars with drinks. They are entertaining and very nice. Great atmosphere too.
Not very busy when we went for dinner, but host looked confused about a table for two. About 4 tables were occupied. Waited ages ( understaffed big problem everywhere) . Music soup for me was tasteless and lukewarm. Dinner was salad rice and Salmon teriyaki. The Salomon was cold with warm sauce on top. The sauce was very very thick and sweet. Not very nice. Rice and salad were ok. My daughter ordered the Blue ocean roll. It said it came with spicy tuna. We dissected the roll and could not find the tuna, but it was tasty. The rice later was very thick almost double of other sushi places. Both dinners and drinks were served in take out containers, which was strange for dining in.Its ok but I would not go again.
Excelent service, great sushi, pleasent atmosphere. Not the cheapest, but not complaining, worth it if it keeps them open. Our normal sushi buffet in Stockton is still take- out only from lack of employees.

Wife and I decided to try there Korean food. Galbi ribs, 22 bucks for two ribs and my wife got bulgogi with noodles underneath that were super greasy and the taste was aweful. Im half Korean and I must say please just take it off the menu. Straight garbage.
I am very upset about the service and food we received. I brought my family and our friends and there kids to come here to eat and spending the afternoon at the pumpkin patch. My wife and I are regulars here and have never once had an issue. Tonight on the other hand was completely unacceptable. My wife had to ask for a towel or napkins after the server saw one of our kids spill water on the floor and did nothing. We waited well over 1 1/2 hours for our food and there was only 3 tables in total being served. We ordered 4 bento boxes and the food was cold to the touch as well as rolls and nigiri and the manager or owner didnt even want to fix it. The teriyaki sauce was gelatinized which was obviously shows its cold as well and my buddy had to find the servers and ask for drink refills. With customers who are going to spend well over $200 dollars on a bill and be treated like that and provide that kind of service then no thank you. We just ended up walking out and went somewhere else. I would definitely not recommend this place anymore to any of my friends and family and I told the people outside not to go here as well and gave them another place to go and they left. If this is how ownership treats there customers then this place is doomed. Ill take my money somewhere else.
Food here is really good. I only order here because I like a certain entre better than other sushi places Ive gone to but their service is not that great. Im always ordering to go because the waitresses can get a really rude attitude sometimes, even when youre a regular there. If youre new to trying sushi and dont know what to order they get frustrated easily. Dont ever go in or call an order close to closing time because theyll get a rude attitude with you. Other than their service, their food is really good.
Sushi was decent for the price. I got the deep fried California roll and the tiger roll. Only problem is that it gave me horrible food poisoning the next day. The amount of times I threw up today is unreal and I’m afraid to ever eat there again. I also have bad body aches, a fever and loss of appetite, basically all the symptoms of fish food poisoning.
Fantastic food with excellent selection. The menu is broken down into subsections which offers excellent variety. I was particularly interested and impressed with their under $7 sushi roll menu and their riceless sushi selections. Service was excellent and prices were very fair. Will absolutely be returning.
Our first two visits to this restaurant were good, although over all three visits I have noticed the cleanliness declining. Our third visit was not so great. We along with several other groups were asked to wait to be seated as we looked at a sea of empty tables. We had to stand for almost 15 minutes as I watched groups of people leaving due to the strange wait. My mother and our children recieved their food but my wife and I did not get our food until everyone one else was finished eating... our children are 5 and 6 years old. Trying to eat in a hurry while also monitoring our youngsters who now had little to distract them was not enjoyable. The staff was moderatly apologetic. All forgiven except that I noticed so many things related to cleanliness that will likely result in us not visiting again starting with the front glass doors. Having owned and run a restaurant for 5 years I can tell when cleaning is not a priority. It starts with the front glass doors (if you have glass doors). In addition, I could smell the water the staff used to mop with the night before which is a huge indicator to me. My wife and I have spoken with a young man who we believed was the owner on our previous visits, however he was not present on our last visit. Lastly, I will say that all things considered the quality of the food was good. I always eat sashimi and have not gotten sick here. It is for that reason I give 3 and not 2 stars. Good luck Oz team!
Will not go again. My sister and I where the only ones in the restaurant other than a couple that was finishing up. We waiting 15 mins just to give our drink order while listening to a manager or owner complaining about another sushi restaurant to this other couple. Food to forever to get. the chicken was cold and we never did get refills on the drinks. This is said because all my family that have gone here say they love it, but why go here when I can spend my money in a place that i never have a lick of bad service or food.
Today around 2 I decided to get sushi somewhere new, upon arriving it didnt take very long for the employees to take my order. I ordered a takeout order of the crunch sushi and i was told that it was gonna take a little over 10 mins for my order to be ready since there were other customers there. I was fine with that and i took a seat to wait for my food. It took a little over 15 mins for my order to come out and when they brought my food to me, the waitress apologized for the wait and gave me free soup. I didnt even mind the wait but she was very nice for giving me something extra. Not only was the service good, but the food as well. the set up was very nice and the dish was excellent. will definitely be returning in the future.
The Food Quality is good and delicious.Price for food is really good.Service quality is average.Atmosphere here is fun & exciting. Love the fish tanks.Bathrooms are very clean,a plus.Good place to go to take out family and friends.
Great little place. Lots of authentic Japanese items. They always make me a custom roll that’s not on the menu. Nice selection of sake too. Never very busy so I can get in & out quickly.
Oh my God! So yummy and fresh! I got 2 California rolls and one more with the cream cheese. 3 rolls for $18! It fed 2 people with 5 pieces left. Ill definitely be back!
I love this place!!! My favorite part about going is the Happy hour that occurs from Mon-Fri 2-5 2 for $10 sushi is the best!!! Always have nice service and greeted very well. This is my sushi go to place!
They didnt give us what we ordered and we called to see if they could fix the order and was told they couldnt do it today cause its close to closing so she said just eat that and she said come tomorrow and we will give you what you ordered or a refund then 30 min later we get a call for us to take our food back or we dont get a refund. Obviously the food was gone by then. Apparently the owner wanted the food back.
One of the best, and most consistent, restaurants in Lodi. I bring my family, friends and business associates here regularly. The sushi is fresh, the menu diverse (including some great Korean recipes!), and the service is always excellent. If you love Japanese food, you should definitely check Oz Sushi & Grill out!
I made the mistake of ordering beef udon. The broth was basic miso broth, the noodles werent hot, there were three slivers of thinly sliced obviously not even marinated overcooked beef, two slices of mushrooms and one shred of onion. For $13 this place should be ashamed. I could buy these ingredients and recreate it for $5. If its one thing this place has, its the audacity.
Menu was dirty. Floor and walls built up dust. Just terrible. We walked out. When eating raw food, either salad or sushi, you want a clean place. If this is how they take care of the dinning part of the restraunt I don’t even want to know how bad the kitchen and walk-in refrigerator is.
The soda machine was down, so tea or water only. The food was decent, but the portions are definitely smaller than before. And the make shift parking lot dining was embarrassing 😳😕
Just wish there had been more! Hubby and I are just getting started with Japanese food and had had a wonderful introductory experience in Pleasant Hill for my newly acquired grandsons birthday so I was anxious about finding a comparable place in Lodi. Loved Oz Sushi & Grill and looking forward to partaking in an evening meal.
We used to love Oz! It was one of the first few Japanese restaurants we visited after we move to Lodi. Their teriyaki chicken was so amazing and their California rolls were fresh! Their Bento Box special was reasonably priced. We just went to Oz after not going for a while found they raised the prices a couple of bucks per menu item but the quality went downhill! Their teriyaki chicken was overcooked and smelled and tasted like dirty feet! The rice on the California roll was dry and stiff. How the mighty have fallen. We wont be back.
Staff was friendly! The food is definitely worth trying and they have decent flavor. However, I wouldnt go in expecting the food to change lives. The food is not bad by any means but it also isnt worth going to if theres another Japanese place nearer to your location.

Oz Sushi is such an enjoyable place to eat at. The waiter/waitress s are always friendly and attentive, the food is amazing and brought quickly, and the restrooms are always clean. Oz is definitly one of my go to places for sushi in Lodi.
The lion king roll to die for! We eat here a lot and they always have good rolls. For those that are concerned, the floor is sticky but not dirty. It’s the finish on the floor that has broken down.

Its ok to wait and be patient when staff is limited but when you wait and the food is not even standard...its unfortunately worse than anything I couldve cooked at home...hostess was great...but the quality of food isnt what it used to be since it changed ownership. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Lodi. The staff are friendly and the food is good. The prices have gone up but its still a great place for dinner, lunch or takeout.
My friends and I go here when we are craving sushi. They are inexpensive and delicious. We love the mix of Korean and Japanese as well. The katsu is a must at least once!
The food is good👍, but the servers dont give u good service they are shy they dont know what they selling and dont know the menu they dont take care of all the amount of people at your table they dont understand when you dont want something they still bring you the wrong order, they just need better service thats all .
Good food and the service was ok, they only had one waitress....She was courteous and did her best on her own.
I absolutely LOVE Oz, the food tastes amazing and its presentation is aesthetically pleasing. The workers there are really kind, especially the Itamae. I really recommend it! 5/5

Had a Shoyu ramen. Not impressed. When they wont even put green onion in the bowl you know its going to lack flavor. Oh well its not their specialty but youd think they would at least try.
Sushi in Lodi? Its okay to be skeptical, I was too, but this was terrific. I thought the sashimi would be a poor value for the price but it ended up being great.
It was the best it was going to get considering the covid restrictions. They had outdoor seating, the food was good and the staff was nice.

If i could give 0 stars I would.terrible service.undercooked chicken.ordered some take out gave me wrong order.they didnt want to fix my order cause it was too close to closing time.if you want to to try real food and great service head down to KOMACHI.

My partner and I wanted to have a nice intimate meal and this was the perfect spot.We ordered 1 special roll, 2 spicy tuna rolls, and a California roll.Everything being about $40 before tip. My one critique being that there was almost too much rice to filling ratio on the rolls (even though it was extremely filling!).I can’t wait to come back and try the soft shell crab along with a few other dishes.

The sushi was good, but no one was in the restaurant.Our waitress kept Wiping the same counter over and over, we were served with paper cups.our silver ware was wrapped up with the smallest napkin, included was our soy sauce in a package.Really!! I didnt say anything. I was there spending time with my son. We did enjoy ourselves though . Thank you for the sushi, but I wont return.

Plus the little amount of fish we had tasted fishy.The rainbow roll had very little fish on it, all I could taste was the imitation crab and mayonnaise, and it cost 15$…. I was shocked when the roll came out.The miso soup had good broth but it was only broth, no tofu nor seaweed in it.Very disappointing.. we left with a bunch of left overs that I don’t think we will be eating

2023-09-07 00:02:36I ordered the mountain deep fried. Spicy salmon avocado cream cheese deep fried, but if you look at it. It is all rice and hardly any Meat.... Some pieces didnt even have a meat in them....Like you can barely see it. Where is the freaking sushi? And it was not spicy salmon..... I did not order a fried riceball. Terrible! I ordered it to go so I had to eat it. Or I would have taken it back. That is ridiculous. I ordered sushi and there was barely a whole bite out of the whole thing. No I know why they had a low rating.

2019-04-28 05:01:59Id give them an easy 4 stars and maybe 5 if it wasnt for mine and my kids complaints about how incleadably sticky and dirty the floors are. Take a walk to the bathroom and youll feel like you are walking through dry soda. I love their sushi. My wife would choose another place but this is my go to for great sushi. The pictures are of our meals (so good) and the a wide shot of the floor and a close up (not so good).

2023-06-22 05:55:43Ive visited this restaurant in the past and have watched it slowly decline. In this visit, they were short-staffed as the hostess was also the wait staff. Therefore, it took a while to get our order in. The food was average. I had a roll and some nigiri sushi. Others in my group had the bento box meals, and they were good; nothing special.My main reason for not wanting to return to this restaurant is due to the carpets and the restroom. It appeared that there might have been a plumbing issue as there were big fans blowing on the hallway carpet near the restrooms. The carpet was damp and filthy. The carpet was filthy throughout the restaurant, which made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. I used to really like this place, but Im not so sure about it now.

2023-08-01 03:11:35The atmosphere is quite nice giving off a smooth jazzy type feel, dark room, smoothe relaxing music and a deep exotic color scheme. That was pleasant untill i noticed there were no fish in the fishtank, dark and algae growing, no refreshing frost across the glass of the sushi bar and nobody else was present in the dining hall besides me and my fiance.. the server was extremely sweet, not overbearing and with a welcoming voice. Took our order of the super dragon roll, baked muscles and Louisiana roll. She brought us our drinks, pink lemonade in foam cups with straws. Along with our forks and chopsticks and miso soup. The miso soup was tasty but lacking in tofu or even seaweed. The super dragon was actually spicy to my surprise but not quite as cold as what you would expect from a roll that cost $19. The Louisiana didnt fare much better either.. for $14 i wouldve rather bought a California roll and asked for sauce on top.. =\ The muscles were delectable! My fiance was looking over the bill and had laughed quietly about how the lemonaids were $50 cents more than the soups.. But all in all, it was a pleasant alone time with chill music with my fiance. =)
