If there were 6 stars - I would give it to them! I plan to drive 30+ miles from San Jose to Gilroy with friends to dine here again.Flavors exploded in the mouth as each entree competed for your attention. The HeartAttack fried rice was delicious - the ominous name notwithstanding.Ill be back.

Staff: super nice. Food over priced, tasted decent but waaaay too oily! Look at this pic! Pooling oil in the garlic eggplant dish. Each mouthful was hard as excess oil exploded throughout my mouth. Gagging but the flavor was pretty good and I was craving it. In cities (where I live) I never have to add soy sauce; here I did. Needed that salty flavor push. Or was the OIL just dumbing down all flavor lol.Reviews saying this is the best place (or the like) in the Bay Area are either paid reviews or they’re just crackers😒Also price. A full sized square to go container was $17! It’s just a vegetable, eggplant, which costs pennies each! How?This dish is on every Thai restaurant menu. It’s called Thai basil eggplant.For the unsuspecting locals they clearly dull it down, omitting the basil so it’s cheaper/easier for them, and there’s no protein! There’s always a protein in this dish! Tofu or chicken, a couple bucks more for beef or shrimp. STANDARD.So I added chicken and with a $2 rice it was $22. Gulp.It’s a mini mall in a small town, they’re not paying urban rents! I also ran out of chicken at 1/3 of the meal..not nearly enough, and I paid extra for it :/Dunno… it was packed at 7pm on a Friday, these guys are making bank.Other urban Thai places who pay double or triple the rent, serving this dish at 65% of this portion size, WITH chicken and basil and a beautiful flavor, are running a good business so this one is simply greedy and over priced.

Ok our golfing friend just looked up this restaurant randomly so you just never know what youd get. Having two different restaurants in one location odd yet had a huge variety of foods available. The hot & sour soup, volcano chicken, and this other chicken dish were absolutely amazing. We got a few other dishes which were ok. Fed 4 guys for a little over a hundred bucks. Highly recommend this restaurant.

One of the best asian restaurant in bay area. Location is top class, Ambiance is great, staff/service is amazing and Food is mind blowing. They have some of the best stuffed mushrooms I ever had. Food quality is pretty decent with good price. I have been there couple time, its my go to spot whenever I head south from bay area. If you like Asian food, check them out. Also they had good outdoor sitting as well in summer.

Ambiance is great but the food is average. Portion size is generous for the price but the food lacked taste compared to other Asian restaurants, e.g. There was not a single pineapple in a pineapple fried rice. Also eating with guilt of cross contamination with the non veg food didnt help either. Vegans/Vegetarians should try to avoid the place since there is no vegan-labeled items/menu and the taste was umami which means it may have been cooked in the same pan where they cook sea food and meat

Hands down my favorite Southeast Asian restaurant, even compared to some of the great options around the Bay. Some really unique flavor profiles while still maintaining authenticity.Make to get lunch here every time I visit the Outlets. The Gilroy Chicken and Mango Sticky Rice are definitely some of my favorites!

If you are in the area and want something different from burgers or fast food, and want a nice/quiet lunch or dinner -with plenty of vegetarian options, and friendly service, this is a good option.The foods portions are not very big, so if you are hungry I recommend you order a side dish or appetizer.Yesterday I enjoyed:- Lava fish (golden battered crispy fish filet served in a hot stone pot and topped with spicy zesty garlic sauce- Vegetarian Singapore noodles (with eggs)

I have tasted better Thai food then this cheap ingredients they’re not fresh ingredients The Orange juice or the lemon are from Brand Simply( they can get from the stores)not freshly squeezed. The vegetarian options are horrible taste. Cumin lamb was good it felt a bit indian taste especially as it was severe with roti prata. Lamb was delicious . The other dish we had was pocket fish, I felt it was over cooked and was getting easily broken and is not seasoned well

Ahh Gilroy.. the garlic capital of the world. Itd be a crime to leave the city without consuming any garlic. ;)Arrived around 11:45am on a Sunday and got seated right away. We were the first customers of the day. Interior is neat. Started to get busy past 12.「 O R D E R E D + V E R D I C T 」1. Fishermans Prawns | 5/5: Of course had to order the fishermans prawns after seeing the amount of garlic thats sprinkled on top of the prawns. Super crispy. Full of fried garlic bits that complement the prawn really well. Not overly greasy. Great amount and size of prawns.2. Heart-Attack Fried Rice | 4/5: Another garlic item. Ngl the name heart attack fried rice almost gave me a heart attack. Do not fear tho, Im still alive. Served in a stone pot. Nice crispy bits from the torched rice on the bottom. Nice and flavorful. Food superceded my expectations by far. Every single thing we ordered was fantastic.If I had to really search for a criticism, its be that the sauce on the volcano chicken was a little too sweet. But that might be a personal preference. Next time, Im going to ask for it on the side.That said, I really cant complain. We live in San Jose, and well definitely be making the trip back down to gilroy to eat here again.

Asked for table for 6. They told us no table available and they are cleaning up one for us. Let us wait outside. We waited outside for 20 mins and nobody gave us any update. We had two young kids and waited for long time outside low 60 degree and it was already 8pm. I came inside but no one come to talk to me. The front desk lady just said they are busy and ask me to keep wait. I ask when will it be easy she said she didn’t know maybe another 5-10mins. Bad experience and we just left.

On 08/27/23 I stop at this restaurant after spending most of day Gilroy Family Garden. We asked for a table to accommodate our party of 9, the first server that greated us said it would be a 30 min wait to sit inside so we asked for outside seating and she said she didnt Believe that two chairs outside would be enough how ever I pointed out that there were 3 tables available she said she would ask so we agreed to wait. She never spoke to a manager instead she had one of her fellow servers come out and said we are not doing outside sit. In restaurant business if your web page offers outside sit you have it available. There where also more than enough servers to accommodate the outside seating there was a total of 5 servers. Overall horrible customer service!

The food here is Chinese food rebranded as Thai. If they renamed their restauarant as Chinese then they could do a little better. There is no taste of Thai at all. Every single entree I ordered was overly salty. Their fried foods are soft. It feels like they buy their food from the frozen aisle in bulk from Costco, reheat it for you, and add a pound of salt to each dish. Their table corners are broken and the dishes are losing color. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the servers are extremely nice and outgoing.

I eat here somewhat regularly and enjoy the food. Is it the best Asian fusion Ive ever eaten? No, but its pretty darn good and some dishes, including the pineapple chicken and yam fries, really hit the spot.The menu is also very vegetarian and vegan friendly.The service here is not perfect, but they are also doing a very good job while being understaffed due to COVID. Lastly, Id say the menu is very affordable compared to similar restaurants in the area.

I was invited to go to this restaurant, my first visit here and the waitress was amazing, it was so different from what I was used to & she was so helpful & made it easy to order, I loved the variety of different dishes & I tried so many dishes to see what I liked most so I can order it again the next time I come back. This restaurant wasnt like other places, it didnt just make one kind of ethnic dish it made a variety of delicious dishes whith its big flavors. See you soon

Excellent lunch for my first time visit. We ordered a few items to share and each was very tasty…and the portions were very nice. I live in SJ, but the next time I’m in Gilroy for a lunch meeting, I’ll indeed recommend this place. I typically like to visit a place a few times before writing a review, but between the super nice people working there, and the hella good food, I figured I’d share my positive experience in hopes it reached the Gilroy locals, and help this business stay open so I can enjoy them again and again.

I took my family to try this place for the first time, and I was super disappointed from the service they provide. We arrived, and the we were asked to wait outside until they prepare a table for us. Then, we were seated and no one checked on us to see if we need any drinks or ready to order, so, I had to call someone and ask them if they can get our order. we were waiting for our appetizer for about 25 minutes, then our meals were coming one by one, and it took one hour to bring 4/4 orders, all that time no one came and checked on us unless when they were bringing the food. At the end the waiter told us that one of the order will take longer and sorry about that. I said please go ahead and cancel the last order because I did not want to stay in this place or get mad at anyone. The place wasnt busy, so there was no excuse. I would never come back here again for a din in experience.

I went by myself to check the place out as soon as you see it you have the option to sit outside or inside both are a treat. Your greeted automatically and of course they asl how many once seated they give you time to get your thoughts together amd explore the menu. The food looked great the plates are big but they do bento meals for people that just want to eat to treat themselves. They are very observent amd dont pressure you to buy any extra which is best part for me. The food delicious i had honey sesame chicken with fried rice and the egg roll it was delicious. The sauce was to die for. The rasberry ice tea was tasted like tea with ending taste of rasberry its in gilroy if you want a good delicious meal that wont break the bank for sure this is the place, if you bring a whole bunch of people they better pitch in lmao.

Im actually extremely saddened by this. My work regularly orders lunch from here a couple times a month. I saw PV had a Bento Lunch special and thought Id enjoy that today. I walked in to zero welcome or acknowledgement and had to flag someone, who I think was on break tbh, to find out where to sit. She asked the bartender, who had been right in front of me, if it was open seating. He said yes to her, still not acknowledging me. I sat at the bar where a menu luckily already was and then sat for a grueling 15 minutes while the bartender and house manager continued to do work right in front of me and yet never said a word to me or even make eye contact, or offered me water, or anything at all. After said 15 minutes, I simply got up and walked out, again to zero acknowledgement of the manager or bartender, who started singing Simple Man instead of providing me any form of service. I walked in and was treated like I didnt even exist. Like I didnt belong there. Like I wasnt welcome there whatsoever. It frankly has me feeling remarkably self conscious as I work in an office environment; Im wearing a bright white collared shirt and clean tan slacks with brown leather shoes. Let alone having flame red hair, I was able to walk in and stay for 15 minutes and may as well have been a ghost. I honestly dont understand it.... Needless to say, I wont be coming through to be treated in such a way again after being thoroughly ignored, nor will I be requesting Chinese at work either.

We have frequented Pineapple Village a number of times over the last couple of years and honestly, I forget to review as they are consistently great. Sorry!We are always greeted by friendly staff, even during busy times, and I dont think we have ever had a bad meal. The food is always fresh and the menu is fabulously unique. (Food in fringe towns gets so boring) Thank goodness for culinary creativity! Admittedly, I do like a menu that changes occasionally, but I did notice a chalk board with an advertisement regarding specials last time as we left - I am hoping next time I hear about these specials before we leave!The decor is rich and comfortable, and the ambiance is pleasing. It can get a little loud when busy, but that goes without saying with smaller restaurants. I love that they are open all day and a little later that other places around!!There is ample parking right outside, and a number of mobility accessible spaces right by the side door.

Been going here for years. We enjoy eating here with our family as it is served family style and we like to order several different dishes. I love chicken chow mein and volcano chicken is very tasty. Other favorites are mango momo, fishermans prawns, and Garlic calamari. Service is very attentive, and they will try to accommodate special requests, etc.

My wife and I met another couple for dinner at Pineapple Village. Weve been there many times before; the food is decent, even if the service tends to have a deer-in-the-headlights quality to it. We each ordered a main dish. Two came quite quickly. Mine arrived 4-5 minutes later—at least long enough for us to encourage our companions to start without us. My wifes dish remained conspicuously absent.As the three of us ate, we stopped multiple waiters and asked multiple times about her food. Each time we were told Ill check on it. I wonder if they ever did. They never came back to tell us what they learned. Finally, one waiter said, Ill get it right now.A curious thing to say!The missing food arrived shortly afterwards. The rest of us were done eating, so my wife only had time for a bite or two before boxing it up to take home. (Who doesnt enjoy reheated fish eaten from a cardboard box, right?)When asked about the delay, the waiter explained that to-go orders take priority in the kitchen. While they were cooking our food, a lot of delivery orders came in, continually pushing our meals to the bottom of the list. My wifes dish takes longer to make than the others, so her meal simply wasnt important to the kitchen.I guess some manager decided that to-go orders are more important than serving customers who made the effort to come to the restaurant. I have heard that food delivery services are not very profitable for small restaurants. Certainly the servers are not making tips off of to-go orders, so I wonder about the rationale. What I do know is that there are many (better) restaurants in Gilroy, and well be taking our business there in the future.

Absolutely disappointing! The kitchen was reminiscent of a haunted house or a nightmare that I couldnt escape. The cobwebs were strewn all over the place. And dont even get me started on the food - the sheer amount of grease made it inedible. The rice was parched, devoid of any taste. The cocktails were poorly concocted, as if someone dumped an entire bottle of simple syrup in it. Frankly, Im appalled by the glowing reviews this restaurant received - it couldnt be further from the truth. These reviewers must have been completely misguided. I sincerely hope that they revamp their menu and service to match their hype.

Ambiance and foods, both are great. We took a lunch break here on the way back from a vacation. Service is little slow not because of inefficiency but they are short with helping hands specially on busy weekends. Its really surprising to see how only two servers are managing everything. Everyone must try the Roti parata and pineapple village curry -super delicious.

2/14/23 Arrived 5:50 for 6 pm reservation. Had given our table to another couple. Place was jammed with full tables and lines waiting & take out. 6 to 8 stacked on counter. Waited 15 min just to order. 10 min got small egg rolls that were cool on the outside. Another 20 min to get the “fried” everyrhing pineapple rice that arrived lukewarm & mostly steamed with obviously previous frozem peas & carrot with 2 prawns & a little chicken for $15?? After 15 min more went to find mamager who never looked up and said everyone was “patiently waiting”. I replied observing the booth areas were being readily served plus the take out orders kept stacking up at counter. Another 20 mins and we got up to just leave. We were there 1 hour and 20 min getting only the egg rolls and “fried” everything pineapple rice. Left most of the rice too.

Me and my family read about the jellyfish sea food bar and we wanted to try it out. We drove there from Fresno. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. We had the poboy soft shell crab sandwich the gumbo and the fish. Everything was delicious. It was worth the 2 hour drive.

Went in looking to try a new place and I had heard about Pineapple Village a few years ago. Well, finally got around to trying it today.Let me tell you... it was amazing and 1001% worth the wait. We came in peak lunch rush, which was 4 parties when we arrived, and probably 6 more in and out after us. The service was fantastic! Very attentive, and helpful!We started with the garlic calamari (and as person who doesnt enjoy seafood, I could have eaten just that as my lunch). We then moved on to drunken noodles, basil chicken, and the heart attack fried rice (sub chicken for the seafood). I didnt try anything less than delightful. This was all new to my boyfriend, and he doesnt like bell pepper and onions. This place had him eating them left and right, calling them magical. Hands down, one of the best restaurants I have been to in the states.If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Clean, friendly, great quality food, and an all around amazing atmosphere.

Mostly an Indonesian/Malaysian restaurant, although you can get a bunch of other dishes representing Chinese, Thai and American-asian tastes. I thought the food was ok, but not worth a second visit IMHO. The roti prata sauce was watery and the bread too tough. The other dishes were just too americanized (too much sugar) for my taste, but they might be just what you want. Great service though.

We were just driving thru and stopped to try it out. Totally worth stopping as EVERYTHING was awesome! We’re a family of six and ordered six different dishes to share family style and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was as good as our favorite Thai places back home but with “fusion” twists that just kicked it up a notch on flavors. We ordered the pineapple chicken to be not spicy for the kids and ended up eating most of it ourselves. If you want one of the best desserts you’ve ever had, order the Mango Sticky Rice (didn’t see it in the menu) and thank me later! I really should’ve taken pictures because everything looked as good as it tasted but it was gone before I thought about it! 😂🤣

Pineapple Village is very good Thai food. Its always delicious and flavorful. That said, todays lunch was delicious and flavorful, but the yellow curry had literally ONE piece of potato, and about six carrot slices. BUT they were more than generous with the vege chicken. Usually its the other way around, not enough vege chicken. Wife says Im hangry. Maybe. AND. Rice is extra. It doesnt come automatically with the curry. If I hadnt asked to see the bags I would have been really upset and annoyed to have gotten down the road and found curry with no rice. Fortunately I checked. Kindly I was given a bit of rice. A bit.

Hello GILROY! I just left this establishment. I ordered wonton SOUP and a glass of house chardonnay.. I was looking FORWARD to it. .. The server Jen was so amazing and gave superb customer service..well.the bowl I had had a hole in it and leaked out on to my table and soaked my pants..Hahaha I thought it was a joke from the crazy places that you buy fake ice cubes with flies in it. I was looking forward to a yummy experience.. But nooo.. The soup bowl had a hole in it ..they brought me a big bowl back with just the soup part and expected me to be ok with it.. Wow how Classy..ummm NO! I left and STILL had to pay for the small amount of house chardonnay..I.have WORKED as a banquet server at high end golf and country club I the Area and this would never have happened.. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken for Take Out. What I got was pad nigh because it was all a pad lie. Let me explain. The staff was very friendly when I came to pick up my order, but when I got home, I realized their take on Pad Thai is nothing like Pad Thai. Basically, I pad cried because it was noodles in some sort of red sauce. No peanuts or peanut sauce, just a red sauce with maybe some sort of tomato base. Not only was it terrible, it was expensive. Almost 20 bucks after tip just to throw it away and have to order somewhere else. I mean, its fine if you want to make up your own original recipe for something, but dont call it Pad Thai. Youre going to have to pad try a little harder. Pad sigh.

We were very pleased with our experience here. The interior decor was tasteful, very charming and welcoming. Our waitress was courteous and quick. We ordered two dishes and found them to be both very good. The portions were also nicely sized, giving us plenty to be satisfied. We believe the price to also be very fair for what we received and we plan to come back on a regular basis. This could be one of the top Asian eating establishments in Gilroy!

Having lived in Thailand, I would say this place is ok if you are looking for something different than Mexican and fast-food. Decor and ambience is nice. Service is fast. But if you are looking for an authentic Thai food experience, this place still needs improvement. It could be considered a fusion Thai cuisine but still lacking flavor and taste. Visited this restaurant for the first and the everything was awesome. Warm and cozy place, wonderful Asian decor, and right portions of the food makes this place a must go. Its just 1.2 miles from Gilroy premium outlets. They have separate vegetarian menu and since I am vegetarian, I had ordered green papaya salad, veg Tom yum soup, sizzling veggie delight. Theres a dearth of authentic Asian restaurants in the vicinity of Gilroy/Morgan Creek and Pineapple Village manages to fill that void somewhat. Is it the best Thai food Ive had? No, but its good enough to satisfy cravings and the prices are also decent. I opted to eat here instead of the pricey Italian restaurant in my hotel in San Martin, and I didnt regret it one bit. Had drunken noodles with filet mignon. Noodles were greasy and still stuck together ( did not get separated before getting cooked ) but the mignon was just okay. Noodles felt a bit more on the soggier side. Noodles could have been a bit more flavorful but I guess thats where the filet mignon comes in, about 6-7 pieces in total. Portion was about good but the price doesnt really justify it, $16 for that plate was definitely not worth it. Water provided tasted weird, was infused with some lemons or limes so I did not appreciate it much, I would have taken their offer of regular tap water instead. Service was almost nonexistent because their restaurant was packed, felt like we got forgotten. Dining space inside restaurant is compact and only 2 waiters / waitresses to accommodate everyone. Guess I shouldnt be too harsh on the understaffing because they are looking for hires, they could use some good hires to replace the current waiter and waitress though for better service. Trying to be kind and sincere to employee taking the order and ringing us up for the food just results in a blank stare. All in all this place is definitely not 4 stars but it isnt a 1 star either. Its just okay if you dont want to get Asian food from Panda Express. If youre looking for good Asian food, this doesnt cut it. After all, its a gourmet infused Asian cuisine.. very similar to Dai Bai Bang and PF Chang if you like that type of Chinese food. Not very authentic.. gourmet style I guess.

Nice ambience and service, except for a few issues. Food was about average.The pineapple fried rice came inside half a pineapple shell and it looked great. However, it came with a hair in it! We returned it and what we got back the second time had mushrooms in it, when we had requested it not to be added. We decided to keep it, was easy to separate those mushrooms out. The taste was not that great. It lacked an authentic flavor and was quite bland.The Kung Pao Tofu here is very different from what Ive tasted elsewhere. The tufus were soft and well made.
