Checked out a local spot after spending time in Marina paddling around. We were starved and decided to do Thai food.Place is more of a neighborhood hangout versus a big chain restaurant.. which I love. The ambiance is charming. Service was friendly and prompt.The food was alright. The coconut shrimp and eggplant dish were more favorable than the other dishes ordered. The noodle dish was super plain and lacking taste.Maybe Im just more critical of Thai food since there are so many good spots in LB, OC, and LA area.

Food was good.6 people (5 children, 1 adult) and charged the 18% tip that was not listed on the menu. Not cool. I even asked where it was written and they could not find it either. Just said it’s added for 6 and above.Server was not very warm but that can happen when the tip is inherently added.

This place is a sleeper for sure,Meaning you would pass by it and more than likely not even realize-But once you get introduced to the restaurant like I was, then you begin to understand why its well received.I went here with my mom and she swore by the garlic fried rice, which really surprised me since shes not a fan of rice to begin with.We ordered a Pacific salmon,Emrald noodles (recommended by waiter),And spicy green beans.Im not big on spice personally so we ordered everything at a mild level of spice.The sauce on the Pacific salmon was lovely, salmon itself slightly overcooked on the grill, but still satisfying.Emrald noodles kicked. My. American. Butt. With spice. Its made with a green curry and the dish was tasty just, too spicy for this Cali kid.Spicy green beans were good as well, not too spicy considering the menu title but they were cooked and seasoned well.But the star of the dish however surprising it may sound; was the garlic fried rice.So delicious. Not too garlic forward, well executed rice.I couldve been happy with just the rice and a Thai tea for my meal.Service was good too, a bit hasty at times but nonetheless very prompt.Atmosphere is also nice, its intimate and still gives you that Thai feel.Would recommend to anyone that enjoys Thai food.

One word: BALANCEDSo many Thai places cant ever balance their food. Usually too heavy on the salt or sugar or both. Not this place. All of it was so delicate and flavorful. We have ordered from here a couple times and it is consistently delicious.This time I got the lunch special. I picked the cashew chicken with the garlic fried rice. YOU HAVE TO GET THE GARLIC FRIED RICE!!!! The lunch special comes with a couple wontons and salad. I also got the Thai coffee, which I love. And again, balanced. Usually it is way too sweet, but theirs is great. Wife got the Thai ice tea which too is usually too sweet at other places, but not theirs. Highly recommend.

They are finally open again! We have missed this place so much. To be honest we were afraid that the food wouldn’t be the same since they have been closed for so long and we were not sure if the chef would still be there! But… EVERYTHING is as it was. The price does seem to have increased slightly by a dollar here and there, but completely worth it. Since they have closed we tried about 4 different Thai restaurants and none came close to the deliciousness! We are happy to have this restaurant back in our food rotation! Thank you for being so consistent and not disappointing!

It was my first time being there and everything was so great for me. The food was really delicious. I have had Thai food at many restaurants but this place was impressive for the food and the service. Good thing they have gluten free food. I tried the tofu soup and to be honest, I had to say “wow, the broth is sooo good”. I highly recommend this place for my family and friends.

Rocharin Thai Bistro provides really good customer service. The Green Curry with Vegan Duck is very good: the primary flavors derive from the curry sauce which mixes, and tastes very well with the entire meal. The rice is somewhat soft, and sweet. The meal is filling, rich, and appetite-satisfying. Rocharin Thai Bistro has a decent cool interior though I prefer the outdoor area. As of my most recent visit, all employees wear masks, hand sanitizer is available, and Samsung Pay is an acceptable payment option.

What a fabulous quaint gem. We started with lettuce wraps, chicken satay and spring rolls, all of which were very good. I tried the sautéed chicken with spicy green beans. This was done in a medium spicy (you get to choose your spice level) Thai peanut sauce. I upgraded to get the garlic rice. This was absolutely delicious! My friends had green curry and Seal Beach noodles. They were both very pleased with theirs as well. And the service was great. I will definitely go back when Im in the area!

Love this place! Cant pronounce the name of the soup but it has lemon grass, shrimp and great flavor. Also, love the soup with coconut milk and lemon grass with shrimp! Would of rate it a 5 star, but they short you on the shrimp (maybe its my greedy a$$ but I love shrimp and these 2 soups!)

Going out to eat is not what it once was... although there were plenty of people picking up food, there were not many in the restaurant itself. I miss those days. As for the food, it was great! Tom Kha soup is creamy, flavorful and hot 🔥. We stayed at The Pacific Inn hotel for a week and dined at Rocharin twice. Both dinners were excellent. We shared The Platter, an array of appetizers, both visits, and each item was delicious! We also shared a cup of the Tom Kha Chicken which was some of the best Ive had. I chose Pad Thai with tofu and vegetables as my entree, and it was good but not the best Ive had. My husband had the Crispy Fish and loved it. The service and ambiance was excellent. We will definitely be back when we are in the area!

At rocharin, everything tasted wonderful. Little did i know.... I ordered the grilled garlic salmon, with sautéed spinach, and it tasted fine. Everything tasted wonderful at the restaurant. Later that night, i went to sleep at around 10:30. I woke up at around two A.M. with a terrible stomach ache. I was throwing up all night from the food here and it made me terribly sick. WARNING: DO NOT EAT THE GARLIC SALMON!!!!

My husband and I love this place. There is happy hour every day till 6 PM you can get a $4 glass of wine have price on beer the appetizers are amazing and the food is delicious! On top of all of that the atmosphere is very pretty and private and the service is great!

This place is second worst Thai restaurant. We went for lunch. My friend ordered tom yum noodle soup and I ordered pad Thai. The best thing was the salad and tofu soup ( little salty added water). With calamari appetizer... This was good but Im sure its pre packagedheat and serve. Tom yum tasted like wasted down pad that. And my pad Thai tasted soupy. Usually you get crunchy bean sprouts and carrots bean sprouts and carrots. This was boiled up and soft.

This was my favorite Thai place for a very, very long time. But over the past few months, their food has gone downhill in a way thats pretty heartbreaking. After praising their food to my relatives in the past, everybody in my party decided to order the Pad Thai and it was, without a doubt, the worst Ive ever had. Bland, dry and completely flavorless, everyone was disappointed. I used to dine here every week, but unfortunately I will not return. Stay away.

Fantastic Thai food in Seal Beach. We had the lunch special, and it was served during the weekend! The Thai tea was one of the best Ive had. In my experience Thai tea can be too watery, creamy or sweet. This was very balanced. The lunch special comes much like a bento box. The tofu soup was simple but surprisingly good. The amount of rice is ridiculously filling, and you get a salad and a protein of your choosing. I liked the several options for lunch, unlike many places that seem very limiting. Definitely spring for the upcharge for the garlic fried rice...its worth it!

Still looking for a good Thai spot. The staff was nice and friendly but not sure if it was an off day or if this is really how the food is. Some of the other reviews back up what we experienced. We ordered 4 things to try. Everything was pretty bland and most of the vegetables seemed undercooked. The papaya salad was plain. Where is that sweet, salty, and spicy flavor you expect? The Panang was really watery. The chicken for the drunken noodle was rubbery but there was some spice to the dish which was nice. The garlic rice was a little dry but had some flavor. Overall, I would like to give them another chance but not sure its worth wasting money to do so.

This is such a great place for a delicious Thai meal. I usually eat there every month or so. The amazing thing is that the waitress remembered our orders from last time. I was SO impressed!! The service is great and the food is yummy! There is plenty to take home for leftovers! This place is good for a small group, 2-4 people.

We ventured away from our usual neighborhood Thai joint to check this place out. We love Thai food, and the food here was really good, tasty and spiced just right. The service was friendly but could have been more attentive. And, I wish the rice portion that comes with the curry was a little bigger. Those are the only reasons I’m not giving it a 5-star rating. The food portions are generous, and delectable. I recommend this place and will definitely eat here again.

Was very disappointed after seeing such high reviews. Ordered drunken noodles, chicken panang, crab fried rice, and a few happy hour appetizers. The panang curry was so watery and had very little meat but lots of either cucumber or zucchini. We couldnt tell what it was by the taste. The fried rice wasnt fried. It was like eating bibimbap, sticky white rice with a lot of oil. Ordered 2 of them, $31 worth of gross. Appetizers and drunken noodles were okay.

For a semi pricey city, this place has very reasonable menu. The phad Thai was so much food - deliciousness all the way. We are Thai food fans, we outta know! My mom said their dishes are very good and I can’t wait to try more. The noodles didn’t leave me tired after which is the case with pasta when I eat it.It was filling yet clean flavors not oily . I’ve been eating here for years and the quality of their food has declined. Teriyaki salmon is sometimes over cooked and vegetables watery. Disappointed given the high price. Pickup orders also take too long, waited 20 minutes for mine after giving them half an hour to prepare meal.

I was meeting two co-workers for lunch at 11:00 am (when they open). I was there at 11:00 am sharp and took a peek inside, the staff greeted me and I told them I was waiting for two more, they invited me to sit inside and wait and immediately there were three waters on the table and friendly smiles from the staff. I sincerely felt welcomed, in fact, they kind of made me feel like they had been waiting for me and were happy I was there... It just got better from that point on... the food was excellent, the presentation marvelous and the staff above and beyond. Love this place. We rode are bicycles from Azusa to feel Beach and decided to eat and drink here. Even on a Sunday, they had happy hour from about 4 p.m. to about 6 p.m. The beer was $2.50 a pop, and theyre were delicious appetizers for 4 bucks. On top of that, the food was pretty darn tasty, and the atmosphere was very nice. Could not recommend this place highly enough.

Friendly staff and owner is almost there. They have great vegetarian and vegan options and substitutes for almost every meal. If you are vegetarian or vegan, be sure to tell your waiter so that they can make sure to accommodate. They also have four tiers of how much spice youd like to have in your food, so make sure you ask about that if you have a certain preference.

I’ve eaten here twice and I have to say, this is probably the least authentic Thai food I’ve ever had. I gave it one more try to see if it was just the dish I had the first time, but I tried a few other dishes my second time and my husband and I aren’t impressed at all. The Satè is bland, tough, hard to chew and flavorless. The basil stir fry was tremendously disappointing. The main flavor is bamboo shoots to be honest. The Green curry was okay, pretty tasty but felt very heavy and not an authentic flavor in my opinion. The first time I ate here I had the Tom Yum and it was just alright, once again not an impressive dish. We won’t be going back.

Drunken noodles were good because they had some veggies mixed in too so your not just straight up loading up on carbs. I want to go back and try some different items. The food here is top notch. No issues with the food. 4/5The service however is absolutely horrible.This restaurant closes at 10 pm. We called in at 9.15 pm informing them that we are on our way there and asked if we could dine in.The person who answered the call told us that we could come in as long as we place our order before 9.30 as the kitchen would close. He was courteous and we obliged. We informed him what we would like.We reached the restaurant at 9.31 pm. We were rudely seated by waitress who totally lost her mind when we merely walked past the table she was pointing at.While I was away at the restroom, she had the audacity to inform my wife This time I am giving you the food. Next time come in before 9.30 if you want to dine in despite us having called in.My wife who was shocked walked to the other waitress and informed her to pack our dinner to go. I think thats when the first waitress realized she screwed up and asked the others working there to do damage control. But it was too late.The other patrons who were seated next to us was applauded by the treatment and started munching down their food faster.If the owner of this establishment is reading this- how on earth can you employ such an obnoxious person ? This is just such a poor experience that it offsets the wonderful food you serve. Please fix this attitude. If she did not want us to dine in she couldve politely informed us to take out or dinner. There was no need to speak to us the way she did.Im utterly disappointed by the service. Its a real pity considering how good the food is.

Ive been going to Rocharin Thai since 2012. I get my haircut and head/neck/shoulder massage across the parking lot at Salon Meritage. I always either dine-in before the haircut or order to go.The green curry fried rice is so good! I modify it slightly to my liking every time. I have them remove the shrimp and instead replace it with carrots. Its so good, I got Irma, the woman who cuts my hair and owner of Salon Meritage, hooked on the green curry fried rice.The yellow curry, satay, spring rolls and salad is really good. All the food is really good, but I just cant stop ordering the green curry fried rice. Its really hard to find a Thai restaurant that serves it.

We came here for dinner on a quite Sunday evening. The menu is definitely very accommodating for a vegetarian or vegan palate. I was pretty surprised to see mock chicken on the menu since most Thai places Ive been to have really just subbed meat with veggies or tofu.We ordered a glass of wine and beer. Drink prices were around $7-$12 per glass of wine, while beer was around $5 per bottle. Food wise, we ordered the summer rolls, pad thai with mock chicken + extra egg and peanuts, and the cashew nut with tofu.My favorite dish had to be the pad thai with the mock chicken. The flavors were rich and burst with flavor and crunch. The cashew nut was good, but I wasnt in love with the dish. The summer rolls were definitely fresh and filling. They come in a larger size with 4 rolls per order.Overall great food, friendly service and cozy ambiance. Would definitely come back in the future when Im craving thai food again!

The only thing good is the ambience. My raspberry tea came luke warm with a few chunks of ice floating on top. Tom yum soup was way too sweet..we wanted to pour a whole cup of water in it and it wasnt even hot, eventhough we ordered it in a hot pot. My friend was in the mood for beef so he got the tiger tear rib eye ..terrible ..too salty and cooked till the meat is as hard as leather with uncooked fat hanging to the edges. We didnt want that way! And how can you mess up garlic fried rice? It was wet grayish rice with none of the fragrant golden garlic chunks that should have been there ...? Gross! No way we will come back. The waitress was nice ..but the food was terrible ...and yes...we eat thai food at least twice a month so we know what real thai food should taste like. We came home and have home made juicy burgers since we couldnt stomach the food at Rocharin...never again.
