Food and service was wonderful and a big thank you for allowing san pedro high color guard to have fund raising bake sale outside the restaurant .
I really like their food, service was pretty fast. What really made me like them was the fact that they catered to my wifes need even though they didnt have to. She asked about a sauce she got from a different Japanese restaurant and they told her they didnt have it. However one of the chef asked her what was in it, she told him and he was nice enough to make it on the spot. Im a big sushi fan and the sushi was really good. This restaurant is a bit on the pricey side, but it is expected in California. I love the sushi bar they have, it sort of brings a bit of authentic Japanese feeling to it. In other words, it makes you feel like your actual in Japan. I also found out this restaurant has been doing business for 30 years and I can see why they have stayed in business for so long. The servers are friendly and so are the sushi chef. This rating is coming with a high recommendation, not a full 5 star but surely worth checking out a second time
It’s owned by a wonderful family. When I was sick, my friend went in for dinner without me. When he told Yoshi and Helen how sick I was, they sent sushi home for me, and they remembered what I like!

Senfuku is the best! Owned and run by a Japanese family. The freshest fish, delicious sushi. Must have the yellow tail, scallops and salmon! The 6th street roll is awesome!!!! Great vibe all around.The waitresses there are super sweet and friendly too! Authentic place with eclectic decor! Very inviting! You feel like family when you are at Senfuku.
Although it is concerning that they ran out of gyoza on a Saturday night at about 6:30-7pm, the beef sukiyaki is delicious (best I have ever had) as is the dynamite scallops. You cant go wrong watching the chefs make your California rolls. Senfuku seems to be an authentic sushi bar that is competitively priced.
Best sushi in L.A.Just TRY to find a real authentic Japanese sushi bar. They hardly exist anymore. Most people cant tell the diff. between Korean and Chinese people running sushi places, but believe me, theres a huge difference.I lived in Japan. This is like home sweet home. Good people, good vibes, great sushi, good experience every time Ive eaten there. Loyal customers, and like real authentic Japanese shushi places, they know and interact with their regulars.Ive been coming down from N.Calif. for months, and now that I discovered this lovely little restaurant, Im making a beeline before I do anything else.
Disappointed a bit because the meal took about a good 45min plus and it was not super busy. Two other tables even asked..noticed and stated that the order was taking sometime and they were usual customers at the spot. The order was one dish went in about 530 left close to 7. Main downfall
Senfuku is a gem for delicious Japanese comfort food and down to earth service in San Pedro! Their menu is well rounded beyond sushi, which was refreshing. If you are looking for sushi or Japanese food in San Pedro then I would definitely recommend stopping here first!

Lovely local and friendly staff. I had a small issue with too much wasabi but it was easily repaired. The fish had a nice texture and was presented nicely. The shrimp was a little rubbery but I would visit again.

Cozy little spot. Some minor food issues which was taken care of by the friendly staff. Only real issue I had was a little too much wasabi in the sushi. Would also advise more detailed menus.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. We came in and got our orders taken and we waited for our food. In the meantime we got out drinks. A young boy came in right after us and ordered sushi. Ten minutes later (still no food) a group of 3 people came in right after and they were greeted and quickly given a plate of ginger and wasabi each (which we didnt get at all) while they were placing their order. I turned left and to my surprise the young boy also had a plate of wasabi and ginger. I find it very insulting that an establishment would play favorites or even worse discriminate against customers. I dont take this lightly as discrimination is a problem in todays society. The common denominator for these other customers was that they were all white. I dont know what to think of this place other than caution anyone who is of a different color to proceed at your own risk. I ended up paying for my lemonade and leaving. I will not spend my hard earned money on a business that plays favorites or discriminates. For the record, the place was not busy nor were they short staffed. We were in plain view of everyone so theres no excuse for this type of service.

Not far the greatest place I had ever visited, unfortunately, because its placed in comfortable location for me. Not recommended, not clean kitchen, sitting just outside next to the road its dusty.. service its okay.

2023-06-28 00:05:15We’ve been coming here for a few years. We love the place and every meal! Must-try, must-have, must-trust! This is a real authentic Japanese sushi place. My favorites include the mussels, uni, sashimi, Chirashi, shrimp head, salmon, etc. It will be a long list. Everything’s fresh! Try it yourself. We hope they stay open so we can keep coming here. The Chef and his wife and the entire staff are incredibly nice. They don’t open for lunch anymore, and they added outside seating after the pandemic. So you have a choice to dine inside or outside. They’re busy on weekends. We enjoyed our dinner and enjoyed coming here. Thank you!

My only issue is that it’s not open longer. They’re only open for 4 hours a day and I often times miss that window. But other than that this place is great!

Only bad thing is that they should make their sushi menu clearer, it was really messy and really complicated to understand the prices. This annoyed me a little bit but after I tried their sushi I immediately forgot about it. It was just so good!

2018-07-10 14:00:34Theres only two sushi places I know of in Central San Pedro, this and Sushi 21. The difference comes down to the fish. The salmon and tuna here are different than the salmon and tuna in Sushi 21 and it tastes 100% better at Senfuku. After eating at these places consecutively I found out through internet research that the albacore and tuna that I liked actually contain higher levels of mercury because tuna (white tuna aka albacore, bluefin, yellowtail, etc.) eat other fish and so have more mercury stored in their bodies compared to say sardines. Anyway, just something to think about when you get sick after eating here for five days in a row.
