Teriyaki Table - San Pedro
1117 N Gaffey St, San Pedro, CA 90731, United States
I must say, when you want a meal but dont want the typical burgers, pizza or salad, this place isnt to bad for a meal that wont leave you feeling sluggish. I did pay $12 and some chang which I think was a little high. I told them I didnt want rice and I got veggies instead. But I believe that was extra. In the end, the meal was good, I could of used more hot sauce.. I was offered more but said no cause I did have my own. Im pretty sure Ill be back another day. Ok by me!

Bar Sawa
111 S San Pedro St sawa, Los Angeles, CA 90012, United States
Bar Sawa offers artfully crafted sushi and cocktails served as an Omakase in a modern trendy environment. To start off with the most important part the food and drink is definitely top notch. The sushi offerings are distinct. Not entirely traditional but offering some creative twists like smoke infusion without becoming gimmicky. Each course is beautifully crafted and plated. The fish was near perfect the rice was inconsistent and sometimes a little too dry or dense depending on the course.Cocktails focus around Suntory brand offerings and lean heavily into traditional Japanese flavors like Yuzu and Matcha. Overall a fun and creative twist. The cocktail tasting menu allows you to pick 3 drinks the enjoy during your omakase or you can chose from wine and sake options. It would have been a bit better if they offered a cocktail tasting that was tailored to the courses served. The restaurant itself definitely focuses on the trendy whiskey bar aesthetic and pulls it off very well. Each Omakase seats only 6 people so it keeps an intimate environment. Some of the logistics around entry are a little lacking. You enter the basement level by elevator and find yourself in a slightly awkward brightly lit waiting room off a long hallway. It feels more like hotel bar at first but thankfully once inside the environment is better.Service was ok. The restaurant is very new and staff is obviously still training. The chefs pull double duty as chef and waiter as is typical of an Omakase. Here however the waiters also serve as bartenders and oddly the hostess as well which makes things a little convoluted since one of them had to go to greet the next round of guests.Overall it was a fun experience but doesnt quite live up to the best similarly priced Omakase experiences in LA. However I think theres a ton of potential for it to be one of the best as it is refined further. There is clearly a strong sense of quality and creativity that hasnt been fully realized in such a new restaurant thats still ramping up.Id definitely recommend a visit. Reservations are needed in advance and book fast. Parking available in the structure next door.

Pauls Kitchen
1012 San Pedro St, Los Angeles, CA 90015, United States
Everything good, except the waitress went all the way outside of the restaurant where we were parked just to tell us why we didn’t leave her a tip? my fellow friend if you reading this it is not obligatory to leave a tip you leave a tip if you want to, which we always do In consideration of the waitress and the service served, now listen we did leave a tip.. it was 1.75 not a lot but still is a tip, reason for leaving 1.75 we didn’t carry any more cash and since they don’t accept credit cards that’s all we could do leave $1.75. However that’s doesn’t give the waitress the right to go and demand for more and say the American culture this and that ... I have had Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese etc people leave a $1 so with that being said don’t EVER DO THIS AGAIN! Is not professional at all and don’t speak good about the restaurant, we already felt bad about leaving $1.75 cents and with her going after us for a tip we felt even worse. If your salary is not enough u depend on tips I suggest the owner do something.

I have been coming to this Thai restaurant since they first opened on Gaffney and 1st street.Their Thai food is one of the very best in the Southbay,I am a Vegan so this is one of the only handful of Thai restaurants in the South Bay that can make their Curry vegan without the fish sauce but you must ask, also I have my tofu pan fried because if its fried in the main fryer its contaminated with fish chicken and other things they cooked in it,All of their Curries are delicious, Ask the server how HOT, you want it. Also ask for the Chili tray with pickled sliced hot peppers.I also know that their Sushi is fantastic I have Japanese clients and family that have gone there and they say that their Sushi is fresh and good as well.
