If youre looking for a nice little hidden gem type of place, Silverwood Grill is kind of like that. Only, instead of being a diamond in the rough, its more like discovering that gem was actually a steamy lump of digested fecal excretion.

Got so excited to eat sushi after some activities from silverwood lake and saw the good reviews. We went in and saw 4 groups eating and some tables open, but right after we got in, the sushi chef immediately told us to get out in a rude manner. 😖😖
1st time, 5*,2nd time, 3*I went again Sat night, and I strongly advise against going there on Sat night! They only have 1 server and they run him ragged, the host was extremely slow despite always standing around. Food was terrific as usual though.
This is a genuinely Korean restaurant which serves few main popular dishes. When we went, they weren’t serving sushi. Fyi. I absolutely loved their duck bbq as they were flavorful and tender. Servers live close by and they have been in business for over 15 years or so. Recommended for those who love duck bbq.
Food was meh. No more sushi, apparently, due to a labor shortage, so that sucked. Place had a depressing vibe that unfortunately made its way into the taste of the food. Other than that, a lovely location with beautiful surrounding scenery.
Ive been wanting to come here, and finally my daughter and I went. Small and simple place. I didnt care for the seating arrangements because I was so close to the entry door. And there was limited tables and chairs for one side of the restaurant. It was also warm inside. Ugh, I was dying of heat outside and assumed it would be cool inside. Nope. It was hot!The ambiance is casual, nothing fancy. Its basically like off the wall quick sushi hideaway for travelers. I wouldnt recommend going unless we were in that area. Its not an ideal 1st choice.Other than that- food was good. They have plum wine and many choices from sushi, to udon, to rice and chicken.
The food is good but ordering was exasperating. I ordered one thing and then changed my mind right after. I asked them to switch and they seemed to accept that, but they brought out both orders anyway. No problem since I like leftovers. However, on the lunch special, it listed rice, sushi or roll. I chose sushi. When we got the check, we found out the sushi was extra. I dont object to extra charges, but it should be mentioned on the menu or orally. I dont like hidden or surprise charges. I like to know the full cost before I order or buy.

I mean we went there for Sushi. Theres a giant Sushi sign out front, but, no Sushi. It was a great, quaint Sushi restaurant... now its not I guess. Well be back if they start serving Sushi again 🍣
This is a diamond in the desert, it comes out of nowhere while you travel the HWY. The food is good for its location, the Vegis are fresh and the sake is hot!

As a kid, my family would drive by this place near Silverwood lake and now 40 years later I finally got curious and sat in. Wow, they serve green beans with your beer!!! Never knew they go together!!
Absolutely brilliant food. Weve had both the Japanese side of the menu, as well as the Korean BBQ. The BBQ duck was totally amazing.
This place rocks sushi. No imitation crab .you got to check this place out if you want exclusivity and a place where you can take your other half and just have a great time this is the place to go.
We came here for the sushi and salmon lunch special only; Staff was friendly and open to making custom rolls. Ordered a roll with Salmon Avocado and Cucumber inside with Avocado and Eel outside for 13.99 (worth it!!). They were also willing to allow us to upgrade the California roll on the lunch special and pay the difference. Overall quality was good, but most of the rolls have artificial crab and acceptable quality.
Not the sushi place in your neighborhood strip mall. This place is on a delightful high desert back road and serves up all the goodies you expect from a good sushi restaurant. Food is delicious and nicely presented, and reasonably priced, and the service is friendly.
Very authentic and unique traditional Korean dishes of duck and chicken with side dishes of good vegetables. We thoroughly enjoyed.
We went on Mothers day for dinner. The staff was very nice, it was very clean, the food was amazing. If you are looking for some really good food, relaxed setting, and a quiet atmosphere, I definitely recommend here. I will be returning here.
One of our favorite little local spots! By far some of the best sushi in the surrounding areas. Always super fresh. The Teriyaki is phenomenal. A real hidden gem.
I visit this place time to time,The lady served our table is rude and doesnt care about anything.I believe shes only one employee working and serving the tables.She gave us cups that had some sort of dark liquid between the cups, when I asked her to give us new cup and was going to show what I found, she took cups out of my hand tossed to trash can and gave us two new cups then walked away.She didnt said anything NO apologies what so ever.!!It appears that they served the cups to other table prior and recycled, because cup was on the top is looks clean. (They use Styrofoam cups.)Here comes the pick of her rudeness.When I saw the check, what she ridden on the ticket doesnt match with total amount,, So I asked her to recalculate the amount, again she took ticket out of my hand went back to counter then came back with correct number. And she was raising her voices that I was looking at the wrong numbers.so I asked her to lower the voice and tell me what Im looking at wrong??Im looking at what you wrote in the ticket, I simply ask you for recalculate.So what is wrong with that..!!Again NO apologies..All she has to say sorry..everyone make mistakes including my self.Maybe her parent didnt teach her what the sorry meant for..Never going back again..

The place was very clean, the sushi was good, although I ended up eating most of it in the car while driving since our toddler started screaming midway thru our dining experience and I thought it best to leave instead of annoying the other diners. But the staff was nice, gave our 1 year old a pencil and paper to scribble on, and tolerated his screams, us chasing him around the restaurant, and our big unleashed dog roaming around the parking lot and frightening the other customers. We were terrible customers, and they remained smiling and courteous throughout. Will certainly go again in the future.
We went here for dinner on a Saturday evening, and arrived at 6:45. Sign out front said open until 8pm. There were about 20 people inside eating. After standing there for 5 minutes, a worker told me they close at 7, and had us leave. They turned off the signs and closed the entrance. We were the only non Korean, and I guess it’s a private kind of thing. I have never had a restaurant give me treatment like that ever.
Awesome find in the middle of the mountains. Best sushi place in the surrounding area. I got the udon and sushi roll combo and it was probably the best California roll Ive ever had! Our bill was higher than the menu price by about a dollar, but I didnt care because the sushi was so good. Good hospitality by the owners. We went around 5:30 on a Thursday and we were the only ones there! About a 10 min wait from the time they took our order to the food on the table. I would definitely come here again.

The lady taking our order seamed very confused and I dont think English was her first language. I ordered the salmon teriyaki box and the fish was so over cooked it was like cardboard. Plus there was little to no teriyaki sauce on it. They where not busy but it took them so long to take our order and then to get us our food but she shoved the bill under our knose faster than you could blink! Dont think we will be going back there. Better Suishi places in town.
Everything we tried was delicious. We had duck soup, Mexican roll and another sushi, and the Korean seafood pancake. The couple with us ordered since they had lived in Korea. They were very pleased with every dish, much like they had while living in Korea. We will definitely be back. One note, if ordering from the Korean menu tell them before you are seated since it is on a different side of the restaurant.
Best sushi Ive had. And also the soup is delicious. This is the first restauran Ive been that made me felt like at home since the waiter, the cook, the owners are very kind, welcoming, and attentive. The place is also very clean. I highly recommend this place.
This place is awesome, everything is prepared by the husband and wife, so you can definitely taste that it is made with love! So keep that in mind and have a little patience when you come I had the sushi and the kbbq, both were phenomenal and the quality of fish and meat used was A++
Got there an hour before they close so they didnt have to rush . Service was okay at first but when I received the food I never got any utensils and the server was ignoring us . About 8 people came in while I was midway with my food which is usual for a Saturday . I guess it was too busy for the restaurant because they rushed me and my boyfriend out, and ignored us when we tried to order one more thing . Lastly they stood at the table waiting for us to pay. Food is good but the service was something else .

This place was great til my card got charged double the price than what I paid. Becareful when using any card here. My meal was $33 but got charged $63 the next day when my payment went thru. They added a tip without my consent. This is ridiculous

Homestyle Korean food, very carefully made. Their salads and often meats are sourced from their own farm or locally. It feels like you are a guest at a farm house in Korea. Love it. Haven’t tried the sushi but it looks good.
2 hours & 50 minutes to get in & out. We were standing waiting to be seated. around 23 minutes before we were finally acknowledged & told they try to clean out an empty table. after we sat down it took over 30 minutes to take our order. 15 minutes later we got our drinks, 35 minutes later we got our 1st appetizer of 2 we ordered. It went worse from there. food was good but service is the worst I ever had. $94.00 Bill for 4 people. I left hungry thanks food delivery in episodes. 1 plate at a time 15 to 20 minutes in between getting the next plate. Ill never return here again!
After venturing the San Bernardino mountains we came down the 138 and bumped into this place in the middle of nowhere. I didnt expect much but as soon as I opened the door the establishment was top notch. You feel at home and the waitress is extremely nice. The food is really good, I had a lunch combination and every piece of food was cooked to perfection. We later returned two weeks after and ordered a 55 dollar party tray which comes with a large amount of sushi. Every piece of sushi was great and I couldnt really decide which one was my favorite. Definitely recommend stopping at this place, youll probably end up going frequently. We come from San Bernardino just to eat there, its totally worth it.
In the grand scheme of the food industry, there is plain old customer service, and there is hospitality. There are customers, and there are guests. Here, one can expect to be treated with hospitality, and as a guest. The sushi is amazing, and in my experience, the best in the area. Perhaps, simply because there is a chef behind the counter who is a craftsman and is interested in you as a guest, not just as a customer.
Food was delicious and service we great. Didnt imagine I would find good sushi in the middle of the mountains. Best end to off-roading was delicious warm food. We will be back soon.
One of my favorite places for Sushi! Even my Fiance, who had tried sushi before at other places and was scared off by the fishy taste of raw fish (he wont even cooked fish), will share a roll with me here at Silverwood Sushi & Korean BBQ. Our favorite is the Heart Attack Roll, so good! They no longer have all you can eat (they stopped that over 2 years ago, right before we discovered this gem), but their prices are fair. All you can eat was like $25, but I only order 2 rolls (and I cant even finish them), and theyre anywhere from $8-12 a roll. My husband loves their curry, their chicken katsu, and the Silverwood BBQ platter. Even my 4 yr old will eat his childrens teriyaki chicken bowl, and he is a very picky eater! We moved to the San Bernardino Mts 2 years ago, and have been eating at this place like at least once or twice a month since I found it on Google. Everything is sooo good, and they grow (organically) most of their own veggies, which make such a fresh and delicious salad. When we (all 3 of us) dine here, I always order 2 rolls and drinks (Korean beer, Japanese beer, or Sake), my hubby orders his platter, and my son gets his teriyaki bowl and our total is about $50-60. And every dollar spent here is well worth it! Ignore the nay sayers, and definitely give this place a visit! Besides, the drive is very beautiful if your coming from the mountains (or over them from the south side of the mountain).Update 5/2019We are so obsessed with this place we eat here at least twice a month. We’ve tried their Korean bbq and it was delicious. My husband loves the katsu chicken curry and heart attack rolls. And I’m loving all their rolls. My favorites are the Heart Attack roll, Hesperia Roll, Dragon Roll and Spicy Dragon roll, and Chilean Sea Bass roll. Their longostino roll is delicious as well. They have treated us like family there over the years (been eating there for 6 years now), and adore them as well. Great family, great food. Our most favorite restaurant ever.
Either dine-in or take-out, it is always worth the nice drive to this secluded restaurant. No language barrier... they always understand me and my family. (we are only English speaking due to lack of education) Ive been to many Japanese cuisine restaurants in California, and this one has to offer a wonderful blend of Korean and Japanese selections. The staff is always polite; and, helpful with selections when we want to try something different. Beautiful desert scenery to view through large windows. Spacious parking, too!
My family frequents this restaurant quite often. Pricing is reasonable for sushi. The quality of food is very good, and the people that operate it are always nice and pleasant. Due to its remote location it is never crowded. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Randomly located family style korean restaurant. Its on the road the silverwood lake. Food was very good. Had the shredded duck stew, delicious. Service qas a little slow, but there were only 3 people manning the restaurant, and the food was prepared when we order. Highly recommended.

I was excited to try this place on Valentines Day after all the rave reviews. I wanted to do the all you can eat sushi but a friend said they dont offer that on holidays. So we went for lunch instead.Many reviews say that duck and Korean bbq are their specialities, but neither one was on the menu. I would assume thats because it was their lunch menu, but it did have a small dinner section, so I dont know. There was a big communication barrier between us and our waitress. My wife ordered a combination meal that was supposed to come with soup and salad but the waitress didnt realize that. She came back at one point to offer us both soup and I asked if it was included, not wanting to pay just for miso. My wife pointed out that hers came with soup but the waitress seemed surprised. I couldnt really understand if she was also offering me free soup or would charge, but I decided to just go for it. It ended up being free, so thats cool.Later we realized my wife hadnt gotten the salad she was supposed to, so we asked about it and again the waitress was surprised. We had to show her the menu and then she had to go ask a guy behind the bar to see if we should really be getting a salad... Our waitress had a brace on her wrist and seemed to be in pain but hiding it, which implies she was a regular and important worker, too important to take time off (and either forced to work with her injury or she was too underpaid to afford to take time off? Not good, either way). So, assuming our waitress was a regular employee, why didnt she know the menu well enough to give us soup and salad? Or why didnt she check the menu? Why didnt the guy behind the bar (who seemed to be the chef) know?As to the food quality, my wife said the sushi was average. It looked and tasted average to me too, the bits I tried. I got a vegetable tempura and found the two pieces of broccoli were almost too hard to bite through and the two onions were underdone so their eye-watering flavor was too strong (not horrible, but not pleasant). The green beans also seemed too hard. The other vegetables were good. I could maybe say the tempura batter and dipping sauce was a little above average. Price to portion size on the tempura was around average.I was excited to try their tempura ice cream but the waitress said they didnt have it. Whether they were temporarily out or have stopped doing that dessert, I dont know, since there was that language barrier thing again. She offered us Mochi ice cream (ice cream in a thin layer of rice cake) which I decided to take a chance on. Ive had it once before from an asian market for about $5 for 6 mochi balls. The ones they gave us seemed a little smaller (1.5 diameter and squashed to about 1 high) but better quality. We each got 2 balls for $3.50. Probably standard restaurant price, but really not worth it in my mind for something so small.We came back a couple months later for their all-you-can-eat sushi for $20. Thats definitely worth doing, and much cheaper than other all-you-can-eat sushi places. Weve done it twice now. Both times the brocolli in the tempura was still too tough, but not nearly as bad as on the first visit, and the onions were good. The waitress with the wrist brace was still there but had recovered. All the other sushi was great. I think they have slightly less variety than other sushi places but what they have is good. Beware that most things on the all you can eat menu are 8 piece rolls which makes it easy to order more than you can handle. Order less than you think you want and do a second or third round if youre still hungry.
We always go here before coming back up the mountain and they have always been great! Udon is tasty and their tempura rolls hit the spot.

Decided to check out this restaurant while I was on my way down the hill. This was a sunny afternoon and there was one group of 4 in the whole restaurant. I was coldly greeted by an older lady. I was curious of what they served at the restaurant and so I asked for the menu. While I was looking through the menu, she stared at me in silence like a hawk as if I was going to leave with the menu. When I asked if they had any paper menu to take, she condescendingly replied no. Just 5 mins of this interaction really put me off and decided not to eat there with such negative service. I came in with hopes of finding a gem in the middle of nowhere and left with great disappointment. Good food or not, what creates a great experience and brings me back to a restaurant is the good customer service--which they clearly didnt provide me.

2023-11-27 05:30:42Worth the drive, the price, and the time. Service is awesome, location and atmosphere is awesome, the food is even better. Everything was fresh, and tasted great. If your in the area, or just looking for somewhere to go, this is the place.

2022-11-28 00:00:32Its like out of nowhere. Made a u turn to try it out. Its okay. Food is standard like many places in town, nothing to praise about Good service. Price is very expensive. Got the beef bento box and dragon roll. Dragon roll was not impressed. Both cme out to be $40 something after tax. All the items are expensive and dont look tasty.

It is off the beaten path, on the side of the road alone, and doesn’t look like much, but it came with the high recommendation of friends and we were passing by so we stopped. Glad we did! We had two of the specialty sushi rolls, both of which were incredibly flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The Dynamite roll was especially memorable, but everything was very affordable and delicious. It wasn’t very busy, but service was quick, food came in a timely manner, and we left very satisfied customers.

2018-08-17 13:05:16For an out of the way little restaurant that serve sushi in the middle of nowhere it is one of the best restaurants near my home. I was a first time customer and was completely pleased with the food. Service was a little slow, but Im totally willing to forgive it. There was a crew of 3 (including the sushi master) and at least 9 tables of customers on a Thursday night. We all seemed to come in at the same time.

2018-07-07 13:43:01Good food. Very low staffed and prices on menu mark up on the total. We all got different udon bowls. They have a great combo price with a roll and udon bowl. Over all a pretty great place. Priced high ranging from 10-40 dollars.

2019-09-24 22:56:27First visit to this restaurant today. I will be returning. Highly recommend! I went after encouragement from my son-in-law, daughter, and several co-workers. From outside, it appears to be a little roadside restaurant out in the middle of the desert, off the 138, almost to Silverwood Lake. But in fact it is a shining star, a diamond in the rough. Went there for lunch with a friend. I could not stop eating! We ordered a monkey ball appetizer, CA Roll, Las Vegas Roll, Summit Valley, and Spicy Tuna Roll. Everything was so flavorful, fresh, and well prepared. The Chef is very gracious, humble, and **very good** at what he does. Very casual environment, no pretentiousness. Well definitely be back to check out the whole Korean BBQ menu. Check it out on your way to or from the lake!

2021-12-08 21:11:48So friendly and great customer service. Very caring and welcoming, if your traveling by check this place out the sushi is so delicious and fresh. Its hard to find authentic sushi but they are keeping it traditional and you can taste it. Cant wait to grab some when Im around next time.
