Sizzling Lunch in Mountain View

I love their cheese fries. Its not just fries and cheesey, they add this really tasty sauce in it too!!!!Cheese corn was super good too, but I think I like the cheese fries more.I got too carried away from those dishes, I forgot to take a picture of my actual pepper rice LOL.I got the combo, I think it really worth the price to get it. I can prob eat 3-4 meals with it. The combo also comes with a misl soup.The teriyaki sauce and garlic soy sauce are amazing!!! Make sure you add those into your sizzling pepper rice!!!I think the best value is probably get one of the combo rice, and add a lot more sauces that is needed, and then bring it home, diluted with more white rice. Because I accidentally add too much sauces and thats what I found out I can eat prob 4 meals with it.

We wanted a steak and rice for dinner and this $$ place popped up in between $$$ and $$$$ and was great. You order via ipad on the table. Various choices of meats, side orders and rice or udon noodle. Out comes your order on a sizzling platter. Now the fun part happens. Melt the butter, add the rice to the grill to get a crunchy rice. The amount of heat you have on your steak determines its cookedness (rare, medium, well, etc.). There are yum sauces to try to tweak the flavors you like in a steak. They also have shrimp or salmon (a favorite next to steak). Next time we may try pork belly. They have a sugar cane drink and the strawberry one was pretty tasty. Service is nice and efficient.

Super excited to have Sizzling Lunch open so close to me! Came here the other night for their VIP night and grand opening and they did not disappoint!! I absolutely love the concept of getting your meals on a sizzling platter and having the option to add different sauces/spices that are on the table for you. The food was SO delicious and very fresh! Sizzling lunch is such a great concept and I can already tell this place is going to be successful.We got the following dishes:Deep fried gyoza - there were 8 pieces!! Way more than you normally get at a restaurant & OMG they were delicious. I could eat 100 of these in one sitting.Takoyaki - one of our favorite dishes and they were very flavorful. Had a good amount of octopus in them and the batter was fried perfectly.Tempura shrimp - fried perfectly and very flavorfulGarlic beef pepper rice - oooh man this was so delicious. The beef was tender and very fresh. This was a huge plate of food and definitely enough for me to take as leftovers. Mouth watering deliciousness.Salmon pepper rice - the salmon was fresh and cooked perfectly in the sizzling plate. My mom added teriyaki and she was super happy. Shes pretty picky about her fish and she finished the whole plate...Salmon udon - boyfriend really enjoyed this dish and also finished the whole plate. He said the salmon was super fresh, and he liked that they had options to add shoyu garlic or teriyaki to your liking.Beef pepper rice - added an egg, mushrooms and garlic butter. This was an amazing dish and the add ons really made it perfect.Honestly, I dont think I can get sick of this place. The staff and owner, Benny are so incredibly nice and welcoming, and the music and decor make the place pop. Benny came over to our table multiple times to make sure we were well taken care of. Great atmosphere, amazing food, super nice people... what more could you ask for?

I tried the vegetarian fried rice with tofu! Large portions and great taste. Super healthy too.

Im so excited to have this close by! But Im worried that its not in a prime location so it may not survive... please visit! Its just adjacent to the Safeway.Their specialty is that they serve a variety of carbohydrates on sizzling plates, including pasta, udon and pepper rice. They have one veggie dish (tofu with mushroom, carrots and bean sprouts). Their salad portions are quite generous for $5 (compared with other Japanese restaurants). The prices are quite reasonable indeed, around $15-18 range which is not too bad in the current inflated economy. The portions are not super huge but they are quite filling. And of course I love the food as I love anything served on sizzling plates, they just have that great flavor. Their pepper rice came with a blob of garlic butter, yummm. A somewhat misleading thing is that they have teriyaki sauce and garlic sauce, despite its red bottle the garlic sauce is not spicy.A quick tip is if you dont want your carbohydrates to char (some people prefer that of course), just make sure when it arrives mix the food properly. For my veggie tofu dish, I made sure to get the tofu to grill rather than the rice.

Sizzling has always been consistently delicious! Glad they opened this location since Cupertinos closed. I love the garlic beef rice, the garlic butter always hits the spot. I also cant go without adding the teriyaki sauce--yum!!! Little busy on a Saturday afternoon but had no wait for 4 people.

Call me bias. Ive tried these type of restaurants in Japan, Hong Kong and America. If you like black pepper, you will like this place.They are very typical... Garlic butter for the rice, tender beef served raw and you cook it yourself. You have to do it right to make it tastes good:1. Add black pepper and garlic shoyu (soy sauce) on to the beef and rice. Then you flip the beef and let it cook.2. Mix the rice with butter, black pepper and garlic soy sauce but just mix the top and spread it flat but dont touch the bottom. Thats how you get crispy rice on the bottom b.Viola!I like this place because its not that busy, no wait and food serve fast cause you are cooking it, not them.

So glad they opened this one in Mountain View after the one in Cupertino closed!Good:- The place is super efficient - you can order on a tablet and the food always comes out super fresh and super quickly- The food is always so consistently good - I loved my curry beef udon - I always finish more than I think since its just a good portion size and you always feel like it was a clean good meal. my stomach wasnt happy before I had the meal but afterwards it felt great - testament to the high quality food of Sizzling Lunch.- Really good price to food ratio!Bad:- Just a bit on the casual side, and the service is very minimalIm a huge fan of Sizzling Lunch, so I always am glad to see more of these popping up and going to them.

At Sizzling lunch the food quality is good but the quantity and price are not. For $15-20 Id expect either a larger portion or some sides to be included. Verdict: nice but overpriced.

They really skimp on the teriyaki sauce when you order to go or from Uber/doordash so I’m just eating a very dry udon and beef. Just look at my pic they don’t even fill those small cups half way and they gave me 2.
