Great Thai food in the area! You must try the Mango sticky rice which is one of the best you’ll have.We’ve tried a few other vegan dishes which were good.I can recommend this place if you’re passing through.

A little unexpected gem of a restaurant in Sonora! An authentic Thai restaurant which tastes just like it would in Bangkok or Phuket. Highly recommended! We were able to park right in front, but there are also spaces in the back.

The service was so friendly and the food AMAZING!!!! I live but ordered the chicken basil which is not Christmas on the menu, but they made it anyway and it was amazing, We ordered the honey pork, and that was also fantastic. I would get two orders next time., The pad se yew(sp) noodles we ordered with beef was excellent and We also ordered the fried rice with chicken, and it was amazing. There were only two of us, but we had enough leftovers for the next day. We are definitely gonna make this a weekly thing.!

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! The staff is lovely, they are quick, foods incredible, great portions, always hot and fresh, spiced wonderfully, wonderful selection..its clean... the atmosphere is very welcoming. Never had them get my order wrong and the 34. Gang Panang Peanut Curry(chicken) is to DIE FOR... seriously legit comfort food. If you love thai food, bring your booty over to Sonora Thai Cuisine...you wont be disappointed.

I was really expecting more from this establishment. I had the pad thai and Tom yum but the portions were a lot smaller than every other Thai restaurant Ive ever been to (which is a lot) and the flavor off. The soup was missing something ? I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sonora Thai Cuisine and I must say that it was an absolutely delightful experience. Meat and vegetables were over cooked. Thai tea was watery. Rice was okay, nothing special, but they didn’t even fill up the tiny rice carton all the way. Speaking of which, the portion sizes are tiny for the price of the food. An entree, an app, and a drink was over $30 for one person.Only redeeming quality are the bbq pork buns: fluffy and delicious with the correct pork-to-bun ratio. I’d go back for those but that’s it. Disappointing.

This is some of the best Thai food Ive ever had. Our family frequents this restaurant. Everything is so fresh and consistently delicious. We also love the staff, who are very accommodating and friendly. I cant recommend them enough. Some favorites are the green curry, chicken garlic soup, tiger beef, and sweet sticky rice with mango. Also, do yourself a favor and grab a Thai iced tea.

Im no connoisseur of Thai food, but of what Ive had, this beats the places I ate at in the Bay Area. Ceylon tea is delicious hot and unsweetened and probably great in the traditional sweet Thai Tea. The soup and food had a distinctly unique sea taste that I really liked. Not just the standard salty dish broth – very light, very flavorful. And the curry was also excellent. We cleaned our plates. Oh, and we were terrible people arriving just 10 minutes before close. They were kind enough to stay open. Our waitress was excellent. Polite, attentive, but also didnt hover or come around too often. Overall look forward to coming back!

We were spending the weekend in Jamestown and decided to go and visit Sonora. This was the first time that we have been in town and it is a nice place. We will definitely come back again. Went to this restaurant also for the first time and its a nice clean restaurant. The waitress was attentive and we ordered our food and it did not take long to get it. We ordered about six different dishes and every one of them was excellent. We will definitely come back to this restaurant whenever we come back in town.

I love Sonora Thai!! I’ve been coming here for almost 2 years of being in the tuolumne, Sonora, Jamestown area. I would highly recommend them. If you are new to Sonora Thai I would try the Tom Kha Gai soup (or you can say number 17 soup) it has coconut milk and has chicken, lemongrass, delicious mushrooms and it’s a fav of mine and it’s a good starter soup if you haven’t tried Sonora Thai yet. If you like Spicy they have many spicy entrées, noodles and options. They have different levels of spicy so don’t go too crazy on the spicy number option to where you can’t eat it lol. The Tom Kha Gai soup is my fav and their Thai Tea is awesome. They so many great dishes and entrees there and they have wonderful customer service and the manager is always very gracious and kind. I would recommend them wholehearted and they deserve more than 5 stars. Go out and try them if you haven’t because your really missing out!

The place seemed understaffed to meet the Saturday night demand. It took some time for the waitstaff to take our order. A couple that was loud/rude got their food (same appetizer we ordered, different entrees) first even though we ordered before they did (when youre hungry thats the worst!!). The fresh rolls were good but skimpy on the sauce. The portion sizes were small and for a vegetarian dish it was very very tiny portion of hardly any veggies! Not a well portioned dinner priced entree and it tasted like just hot oil and chili spice (where was all the thai flavor?!). My husbands dish was an appropriately sized portion of protein on top of a tiny amount of slaw. He said it tasted fine. Presentation for everything but the fresh rolls was as harried as their service - rice tossed wanton on the plate, messy, sauce spilled. The gals were nice enough but Im not sure we would want to come back unless it was a not-busy lunch time and we got something standard like curry. To mention: takeout orders seemed to have the best/fastest service even though they were quoting 30 minute wait. If we had called in our order when we first sat down we would have eaten much faster! The people were working hard but they might just need more people to get things out well and timely.Update: came back with a friend to give it another chance. We both got ill. I will not return here.

I LOVE this place. I went vegetarian due to high blood pressure, and this spot has a huge selection of vegetarian friendly options. I know this is completely subjective, but this is hands down the best Thai Food restaurant Ive ever been to. Its located inside one of the many historic buildings that make up Sonora. The decor is quirky, but the staff is great at getting your order and food out, and they keep your drinks full. If youre in town and a vegetarian, this is your spot...and if youre in town and just in the mood for something different make sure to stop in here. My personal favorite is Gang Pak (I think thats how you spell it). BE CAREFUL of Thai Hot. They ask you how spicy you want your meal. Mild, medium, hot and Thai Hot are your options. Youve been warned!

The best Thai food around!! Their vegetarian spring rolls are better than any I got in Modesto. I love spring rolls, so I decided to order from 3 different restaurants in Modesto to compare them. The ones in Sonora beat them all!! The veggies are fresh, & chopped just the right size, the peanut sauce is creamy & yummy, unlike some others that were gelatinous & tasted nasty. It should be said that since the covid era began Sonora Thai Cuisine has gone above and beyond every other restaurant in this county to assure customer safety. They immediately went to Togo’s only. As a customer concerned with protecting my loved ones who aren’t in a perfect health condition, it makes me feel confident that I won’t catch the virus here. This nice, well-served eatery has some of the most incredibly tasty, exotic Thai dishes anywhere. Ive eaten Thai food in the Bay Area, San Diego and Nashville, and this place rivals any Thai Ive ever tried. Plus, the dishes are available in four levels of heat, from mild up to Thai hot! Hot is perfect, IMHO, though next time Im trying the Thai hot, as I like some heat and Ive heard its great (I believe they use red peppers). An enthusiastic recommendation from me!

Maybe its me, but when I walk into a place and the person greeting me says,we close early tonight, so you can stay if you can be done by then (it was 6:30!) it kind of puts one off from the get-go. If I hadnt been cold and hungry w/ kids in tow, I would have left then. It was the night of the big snow storm and wed been stuck in our car for three hours.I As it was, I said,I can eat fast if you can cook fast. He asked if wed like water and we all said yes, yet none came until I asked then we got one glass. I asked for tea for us and was brought three mugs(OK, I thought, no poto tea, no big deal). The food was pretty good, fresh and flavorful, but lacking any spiciness (guess they are trying to cook to the local palate). Whatever, it wasnt terrible food, I could live with it. The deal killer for me ( besides the utter lack of hospitality) and why I will never set foot in the place again, was the 2 Dollar per cup charge for fricking TEA .....OK i feel better now

Very bad service. The person there was very rude. This was on April 17, 2021 around 7:30 and the person was not communicating properly. The food was good but the service and behavior was very bad and not welcoming.
