2023-09-20 17:58:28I tried this restaurant because I stayed at the Stanford Inn hotel and I really enjoyed everything about it. First you need to understand that this is a fully plant-based restaurant and if you are looking for vegan processed food or food with a lot of fake flavors this wont be your place. However, if you are looking for healthy food, with good quality ingredients and you want to taste the original flavors with no additives of each dish then you are in the correct place! You must make reservations for breakfast and dinner (they are closed for lunch, however, they have a menu for a lunch to go) and I suggest that you make your reservations with a lot of advance because they dont take in a lot of customers at the same time and reading previous comments I can tell that for some people that is inconvenient, however, it makes a big difference on the experience because the server service is really good (you have the full attention of your server) and the food is freshly prepared by the time you order it. The restaurant has a beautiful interior and amazing views. The customer service is amazing. The staff were all attentive when it came to answering our questions and made really good suggestions. The menu has sections for larger dishes and smaller portions. For breakfast they have daily fresh juice, delicious coffee and teas and the menu has a lot of options to choose from. For dinner if you are a soup person I recommend that you always order a cup of soup, every day they have a different soup and the flavors are amazing. If you like desserts this is also a must, I loved all their desserts and my favorite one was the carrot cake, I like them because they were not too sweet and you can taste different combinations and flavors . They also have a happy hour. The bartender is really knowledgeable, she made recommendations to pair our food with wine and the combinations were tasteful, I didnt have the chance to taste their cocktails but they have a lot of variety . I love the fact that our dogs were welcome to the restaurant, they have a whole section for families with dogs and while we were there all dogs were calm and everybody was able to enjoy their meals in a great environment and the bartender and server were spoiling our dogs with delicious treats. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to have a healthy, nice experience meal. And if you have dogs...this place is a must. I cant wait for us to come back again to The Ravens.

2022-11-29 13:41:37This is the restaurant that is inside the hotel on a hill side near the ocean in Mendocino. The hotel is gorgeous during the day.At night during this time its filled with Christmas charm and giant fireplaces in the lobby. The lobby also has an amazing array of books.Go past the lobby and there lies the restaurant. Tables are spilled out of the dining room.I wanted to love this place because I was ranted and raved too about it.Service wqs okay, our dishes came out at different times and people had to wait to eat.One dish was forgotten, but they did give us extra chips for my son.The food was just okay. Need more razzle dazzle.Dont forget the hefty price tag.All vegan restaurant.Unsure if Id go back.

2022-09-16 02:37:45Ravens restaurant is absolutely delicious and I highly recommend dining here- whether you are local or staying at the Stanford Inn. I stayed with my mom and we ate here every breakfast and dinner for our stay! From the gorgeous views, polite staff and delicious vegan cuisine- we had the best time! Breakfast and dinner were both special- check out my photos! Its very unique to find a restaurant that doesnt depend in mock meats, oil and over salted food- everything on the menu is fresh, creative, and allows the flavors for fresh herbs to come to life with local ingredients Thank you for adding to our stay the best food out there!

2023-11-19 17:56:40Amongst the heavy meat and seafood dishes void of vegetables this restaurant shines! It was so nice to get a nourishing meal after a day of hiking and sightseeing. The food is low in oil, mostly gluten free and vegan so expect healthy but really well done! It was a calm soothing restaurant as well.

2023-09-02 18:00:29We dined here as part of our stay at the Stanford Inn. Maybe it would be nice if you are vegan and are limited by available options. However we did not enjoy our meal. The pancakes were very dense and almost not palatable. The view was beautiful and this could be a stunning dining spot, but the menu is lacking

2022-04-05 18:01:52Extremely disappointing and expensive meal. Not at all worth the price.Kale stack and glazed tofu were alright. Good flavours and reasonable portion for cost.Sea palm and root veg strudel was nice texturally, but not exciting flavour-wise. We were also advised that it was not substantial, so we ordered a vegett stir fry to go with it, not realizing that it is already supposed to come with it. But the staff were not wrong. For $12 a piece the strudel was deeply disappointing.Trumpet mushroom croquilles was a decent portion for the cost. But the flavour was just sour. Risotto was bland and chunky, not creamy texture as Id expect. The mushrooms on top were just sour. Not lemony. Sour. Like vinagre.Stir fry was nothing to write home about. Vegetables with some soy sauce. For $12.Carrot cake was dense with an unpleasant icing. Will not eat at again or recommend.

2023-07-25 03:52:02I really wanted to like this restaurant. I am a dietitian and I eat an almost totally vegan diet and believe healthful eating can taste great. I know they were ahead of their time in offering vegan fine dining. And maybe once upon the time they offered the whole package. The dining room is lovely and our server was cheerful and competent. But the food? What a disappointment. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen is holding this place back. So much potential unmet. Many things were not cooked enough, doughy ravioli, undercooked chewy whole chard leaves, chewy vegetables in the curry, a cold raw bell pepper piece with a mushroom saute’ on it. If I wanted raw food I would have gone to a raw food restaurant. The house made bread was dry. How did they manage to make such a mess of simple bread? The flavors of the curry and the ravioli were ok but overall the meal was a failure on so many levels. This beautiful facility needs much more than they are getting from whoever is in charge of the food. Get an inspired, experienced professionally trained chef and up your game. Vegan food can be so much more than you are offering.

2023-11-21 00:19:49I hate to write this, but the food at Ravens Restaurant was shockingly bad. For a vegan resort with high prices I expected something unique and delicious, but boy was I wrong. My partner and I came for dinner and got the Rustic Flatbread, Crab-less Cakes, and the Kalua Mushrooms and Coconut Rice. It was some of the most bland and dry food we have ever had with just a strange aftertaste. I promise vegan food is SO much better than this. Just try Fog Eater Cafe and you will see.

2022-08-22 00:35:25I enjoyed every meal of our dinners at Ravens. The food is creative, delicious, and attractively presented. Most nights my daughter and I each got a small plate, followed by a large plate. One night we even indulged in dessert. The food is rich in vegetables and many other healthy ingredients, and is low oil and not fried. Our favorite small plate was the kale stack, and favorite large plate was the sea palm. As we roamed nearby parks, we were quite attuned to all the sea palms growing on rocks near shore. Ravens sources their sea palm locally, so we might have been looking at someones future dinner. The portions are generous, and every night we took enough food back to our room for lunch the next day for both of us.

2021-08-25 15:56:34Too many tortilla chips on the menu. Big fan of plant based menus, so I wanted to love this vegan place. I expected high end quality food, but I felt like my experience was subpar. Food: on the positive side, much of their food comes straight from their garden. The menu aims to reduce oil use, making the dishes healthier. The portobello benedict at breakfast and the enchiladas at dinner were good. The cocktails were generously sized and yummy. As for the negative, I found my food was oddly dry and not very flavorful. Too many dishes with tortilla chips. The water was infused with lemons and cucumbers, which is not my preference. My party got the mushroom polenta, enchiladas, and adobo tostada. Service: good service but waiters aren’t that knowledgeable about the menu. I had to ask for non-infused water every time I wanted my glass refilled. Space: Quiet, so feels formal. Everything else is casual. The room is spaced out, but not well ventilated. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the floor is very squeaky // (note: I ate here three times: twice for breakfast and once for dinner.
