Im so sorry but the food is lacking taste. Its pretty bland and to my surprise this place was given a high rating. The service staff were very professional and I appreciate it but if it should taste the dishes before sending it to their customers. I dont know if the restaurant altered the taste to suit the local taste buds but the chef definitely needs to reconsider the quality of the dishes.The kimchi was very watered down.

I love this restaurant. The place is always very neat and comfortable. The service is always on point. They are very nice and friendly. And the food is absolutely delicious. The ingredients are always super fresh. I love the bibimbap. It’s the best Korean food I ever had.

Delicious and authentic well made Korean food. High quality ingredients. Price however is quite a bit higher than other similar quality restaurants making it not as good value. Good ambiance, great place for family and hangouts with friends.Banchan is very delicious with crab roe pumpkin, kimchi, bean sprouts, and the usual green veggie. Ordered the pork bulgogi which was very tasty and well cooked served on a hot cast iron plate. Seafood pancake was quite large and well portioned for 4 people. Cold beef noodle soup was good as well although not a lot of beef. Seafood tofu soup was tasty but a relatively small bowl.Service was quick and friendly.

This was my first time trying Korean food and I am glad I did that at Su Dam. Loved the food. Tried the soupy ramyeon with beef and steamed dumplings. The sides of kimchi, spinach, pumpkin and bean sprouts are good too. Portion sizes are wholesome, you might want to share it. Staff is friendly and welcoming and the ambience soothing and calm. The robot serving food is fun addition. Overall a great experience. The place is on pricier side but worth it.

Cool robot go beep beep but food is average. Cool robot that serves food can’t sway me to giving this place anything more than average. The bibimbap was alright, too many cucumbers. The dol sot did not really give that crispy rice which was disappointing. It gave kinda crispy but not really and barely any. The banchan was good everyone gets their own banchan which I have not seen before. Overall service was above average but food was average.

Came here with a group of 15 today and it was great since the place was empty and there was room to fit all of us.Good:The appetizer ban Chan here is great - they refill it too and their pumpkin is tasty! Super solid fish tofu too.I got their spicy beef noodle soup which had a ton of noodle which I really liked and it was really huge portion sizes — a great value.Bad:The service takes a while with a group as big as ours which was expected - the place didn’t have dishes that were like super super amazing but it was a solid Korean place and good for groups.

What a shame! That is why I do not trust Google rating anymore.It could be painful but I will be brutally honest with the dishes.We ordered four main dishes but all of them were not even close to Korean food.I never had such Korean foods and there is no clue of its origins.Side dishes smell dirt and cold noodles smell and were overcooked. Kimchi soup had no kimchi inside as they way overcooked and beef has no taste.I am assuming that chef made recently career change from other industries.

Nice interior, professional and friendly staff, authentic healthy food. You even get a free appetizer plate.I paid $33 for lunch incl. a diet coke and a 18 percent tip.Only downside is that sodas are disproportionally expensive, I consider $4 for a can of Coke too expensive.An issue I saw at several restaurants in America is that sometimes the food is not (temperature) hot enough. I assume this is because some of the food is pre-prepared and then just re-heated. I had this issue at this restaurant too with beef.

I recently tried this Korean restaurant and loved the restaurant delivery robots that made the experience fun and futuristic. The food was authentic and delicious, with a great variety on the menu. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. Highly recommend for a unique and enjoyable dining experience.

Side dishes here are quite good, and refilled very nicely by the staff. If you dont enjoy eating Korean noodles / soups, this might not be the place for you. They dont have single orders of bulgogi at normal prices (cheapest meat dish is 23$), so if you arent sharing, youll have to get some sort of noodle / soup, which is made averagely, but overall a bit more expensive than other places you can find nearby in san jose.

Nice place. Nice staff. However, ordered a to-go order of bibimbap, which was delivered like a TV dinner in a container that had been heat-sealed with cellophane and had obviously been prepared well in advance and was cold. Kimchi was bland. Overall, was unable to eat much before setting aside.

The bibimbap was delicious. Hot stone choice is always the best. Makes the rice crispy when you leave it at the bottom for a little bit. This restaurant has these robots that would serve the meal to your table. Very cool experience.

Robot server keeps hitting our seat when serving neighboring table. Owner and two other waiters handle this very poorly. Galbi Tang is surprisingly hard to bite also. Wont come back.EDIT 10/9 11am after owner replied:Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, your reply did not pass fact check :) i.e. you are a liar.First, our chair was at its normal position, instead of being pushed out very far away from table. We are both very fit as well. Thats why I also told one of the waitress that you may want to re-calibrate your robot server. Our chair got hit by robot server twice from behind, we did not want to make it a big deal, so chose to resolve it ourselves by putting another chair in front of our chair to protect us. 3 of you came over one by one, trying to move the protection chair. We explained what happened to us and why we need a protection. We heard ok from all 3 of you which indicates agreement to leave protection chair at its position. However, we never heard any apologies regarding the robot server hitting us twice.Second, you lied again about it being a safety hazard. The protection chair is still very far away from all other tables, and other customers have enough room to walk by. You prioritized a self-imagined safety hazard, over a repetitive dangerous incidents (robot server hitting us twice within 5 mins). Was it because my wife and I were both Asian while the other table has a White male?Third, you lied one more time claiming you are doing your job to prevent anyone from getting hurt. From the beginning to the end, we dont heard a word caring about us getting hurt by the robot server. Dont pretend you care about customers. If you say you care about customers, then you are racist caring about certain customers over other customers.Our plan was just to finish the dinner as soon as we can and leave. You kept interrupting our experience with robot server hitting us twice and waitress+owner coming over trying to remove our protection chair, without providing an alternative protection action (other than an unfair request of asking us to sit closer to table, as we are already sitting very close to table). Its your consecutive mistakes that lead to my raised voice. Dont fingerpoint and pretend you are the victim. At the end of the day, we are the customers who get harmed. No one else does.

Pretty good korean food - despite not being in Santa Clara korean town area. The spicy pork is tasty and the pancake is pretty good. Plenty of side dishes. Its a good place to visit as alternative to Jang Su Jang or Tobang.Not super crowded, and parking available on the strip mall parking lot.

Update review 12/2021I like come here because you dont have to wait like other places. Frankly, their foods are pretty good. Very similar to other Korean restaurants in the area. Ive had their cold noodle, spicy soup noodle, and their BBQ. They do it for you and not the kind you do on your own table and BBQ yourself.I had the seafood tofu, not the best Ive had but one of the better one. Taste good.The bimbimbap was pretty good as well. You leave the rice unstir and you will get crispy bottom.The most interesting thing is the robot server. The coolest thing. It brings all the utensils, food and stuff to you. Really cool.------------I always order the Naengmyoun (cold noodle) in the summer. Theyre always on sale in the summer. I wish they put more beef in though.Tonight they only have 6 small plates, unlike some Korean BBQ restaurant which offer more small dishes.

The beef tofu stew was not tasty. The soup tasted rather bland and the tofu was not fresh. But their complementary side dishes were very tasty and can be refilled. Their service was good. I will try other dish on the menu next time and avoid tofu stew.

Convenient location to find Korean food without having to drive to Koreatown. Fresh food, superb kimchee, nice ox bone broth. Not cheap, but reasonable. Bright lights, very clean, and quick service. Kimchee side dishes are fine, not standout. It would be nice to have a couple different more side dishes minus the mayo. Fried dumplings felt a bit like a dessert. Cold buckwheat noodle soup with side vinegar and mustard requires a curious eater to try, but its a cool refresher in the summer. Two chilis on the menu means very hot, so keep the paper napkin handy to mop up the sweat. Spicy leftovers is extremely good the next day. Noodle dishes are perfect for kids. Avoid the rice drink that has bits of rice paper texture. Open all afternoon. If you dont leave a Korean restaurant feeling bursting full, then dont go back there.

The food and service at Su-Dam is really good! I’ve eaten here twice and had different dishes both times. If you’re craving Korean food, go here. You receive small dishes of various Korean-style vegetables before your meal comes out if you order an entree. When your meal is ready, it will most likely come out of the kitchen by a robot server. While the robot doesn’t place your dish on the table, it is a unique feature.

If you are expecting real Korean style chicken, you will fully waste every penny you spend on this memu. This is about $30 for full set which you may think is reasonable, but what you get is old dried up wings and thighs to your complete ruin of your expectation.The chicken is very old and tough like rubber.I threw away almost half of it and reallyI would just spend that much at KFC or something and get over with chicken craving.

Our office moved across the street from this place and this place is becoming our favorite lunch spot. We literally walk across the street, no need for parking.The staff welcome you warmly when you walk in and most of the time we can request a table of our choice.The fun part is they have a robot bringing out the food to your table and the server puts it on your table. Nice touch to be the Bon chon on individual plates.Our last team lunch was spontaneous gathering, so we could share more food.... Yummy! I luv the seafood pancake. Bimbimbop is always a staple. I placed an order online about a half hour before the kitchen closed tonight (Tuesday night). They lost my order, and despite the kitchen being closed and the fact that they could have just refunded my money, they instead made my order right away. I drove away in about 5-10 minutes after first arriving. Id been to Su-Dam once before and loved the food. 5/5 for great customer service and great food. Interestingly they recently started using a robot to bring food and other items to the table. It must be a project in its early stages because an employee usually backs up the robot. Customer service here is very bad. Came here with a couple of friends because of the review. The table next to us had a issue that the staff did not want to fix, the person didnt even eat his meal just paid and left. After he left the 2 waitress laughed and talked smack about the customer in Korean. Meal was alright, overpriced for the amount you get. We had to keep asking for everything, side dishes, water, Glasses for beer you name it. They would disappear into the back eventho there was only 3 tables with customers. Then as my friend wanted to order another beer, they just gave us the check and walked away without asking us anything. Very rude, Id suggest driving 10 min more to k-town in Santa Clara as the food, pricing and service is well worth the extra distance.

Went here for lunch and had a fully satisfying meal which hit the spot for me. The banchans were flavorful and they offered some unique items that I havent personally had in other similar restaurants. The main entree I ordered was the Bi Bim Bab which could have easily fed two people! This was a dish that nailed the price to portion ratio! I enjoyed every single bite of this dish and I did not want to let any grain of rice behind. Flavor explosion in each bite. Ill have to come back here again and try a different dish!

The service is always bad but this time they forgot half of the items that we ordered.We ordered through Grubhub as they don’t do delivery themselves, after the restaurant made a mistake we called them to inform them that some items are missing but the lady on the phone was rude and not helpful at all, refusing to send the food or refund the missing items saying Grubhub only pays them a little ?!?? What great date! or so we thought....We were surprised when we got a bill for much more than what we ate. Turns out that the lunch special is only M-F, and not available on Saturdays. We looked and, of course, it was listed on the menu in small print. Very confusing since the only two pages in the menu were lunch special and dinner. So every meal on Saturday is dinner?We would have just dropped the issue as a dirty scam, paid a meager tip, and never stepped foot in the restaurant again... BUT... we remembered ordering the items by pointing to them on the lunch menu. Our waiter did not mention we would be paying dinner prices for this dishes.After explaining our situation to the waitress multiple times (our original waiter had vanished), we repeatedly asked to talk to her manager. Felt very bad, the restaurant is close at 9:00pm, we arrived around 8:25, wondering if they would still let us get in or not, but they did. So at 8:50pm, a waitress asked us to pay earlier since the computer needs to be closed as they said, not a problem for me so I paid. Exactly at 9pm, the waitress showed up again to ask us if we wanted to pack our food, apparently our food were even still hot to eat more quickly, 9:07pm they came again to ask us weather we knew the restaurant is close at 9pm, they are waiting for us to finish, I was like if you are not comfortable to wait after 9, why you let us in at 8:30, why you did allow us to add one more order 10 minutes before your computer shut off, and why didnt you try to push us before I paid the tips! It is the first time we had such bad experience with a restaurant just because eating later than their closing time.

Expensive for the quality of the food served.It started with the six side dishes. The eggplant tastes wierd. The mongo sprout tastes bland. The kimchi is not good either. I guess I expected too much since the Menu book looks impressive and expensive, although it lacks photographs to guide non-Korean diners. We ordered T4 and T5 Tofu soups. Definitely pale in comparison with those available at Tofu House which is just a few miles north along El Camino Real. I have been to a number of Korean restaurants in the area but this one made it to my DNV (do-not-visit) again list.

Not a legit Korean place and they served my table a dish with definitely expired food that smelled so bad and the excuse was ridiculous that they cooked with different sauces on that day. So I asked them to try some of it and they refused which made it obvious the food was bad.. lol. Will never go there again.

Loved the bibimbap. Great flavor and had a nice crispy rice shell. There were six sides that came with the meal-kimchi, bean sprouts, spinach, seaweed, eggplant, and fish cake. Also got the hot chicken soup with glass noodles, ginseng, and dates-very clean broth and extremely tender chicken.

The best thing they make here is the seafood pancake. No joke, its the best seafood pancake I have ever had in my life. Its so crispy, and filled with so much seafood!Their ginseng with chicken soup, as well as the beef bone soup are both very flavorful, so I would highly recommend these two options. Unfortunately their tofu soup (soonduboo) is lackluster and their galbi-jim, while flavorful, is not as tender as I would like.The galbi plate is also flavorful and recommended.The servers do not seem very enthusiastic about being there but the food is worth it.

Love their grilled fish, kalbi (very good cut of meat, well grilled), and their selection of complimentary side dishes.Only thing is, dont order the ramen. It seems to be instant noodle in a thin soup - nothing at all like real ramen. Maybe thats how Korean ramen is - I am comparing it to Japanese ramen.It is cold in this restaurant - bring a sweater!

While you should expect Palo Alto/Los Altos prices, your meal will come with banchan (small dishes of food like kimchi or bean sprouts) and lots of water if you want/need it. My favorite items so far have included foods beyond the usual Korean BBQ, like naengmyeon (buckwheat noodle soup in cold/iced broth, very good for hot days) and kal-guksu (knife-cut wheat flour noodles in a thick chicken broth, good for chilly winter days or when you think you might be coming down with a cold). I love the variety of foods available at this restaurant that you wont usually see outside of Koreatown, and the service here has usually been pretty good. 5 stars, always happy to come here for lunch or dinner.
