Su-Dam Korean Cuisine

Robot server keeps hitting our seat when serving neighboring table. Owner and two other waiters handle this very poorly. Galbi Tang is surprisingly hard to bite also. Wont come back.EDIT 10/9 11am after owner replied:Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, your reply did not pass fact check :) i.e. you are a liar.First, our chair was at its normal position, instead of being pushed out very far away from table. We are both very fit as well. Thats why I also told one of the waitress that you may want to re-calibrate your robot server. Our chair got hit by robot server twice from behind, we did not want to make it a big deal, so chose to resolve it ourselves by putting another chair in front of our chair to protect us. 3 of you came over one by one, trying to move the protection chair. We explained what happened to us and why we need a protection. We heard ok from all 3 of you which indicates agreement to leave protection chair at its position. However, we never heard any apologies regarding the robot server hitting us twice.Second, you lied again about it being a safety hazard. The protection chair is still very far away from all other tables, and other customers have enough room to walk by. You prioritized a self-imagined safety hazard, over a repetitive dangerous incidents (robot server hitting us twice within 5 mins). Was it because my wife and I were both Asian while the other table has a White male?Third, you lied one more time claiming you are doing your job to prevent anyone from getting hurt. From the beginning to the end, we dont heard a word caring about us getting hurt by the robot server. Dont pretend you care about customers. If you say you care about customers, then you are racist caring about certain customers over other customers. Our plan was just to finish the dinner as soon as we can and leave. You kept interrupting our experience with robot server hitting us twice and waitress+owner coming over trying to remove our protection chair, without providing an alternative protection action (other than an unfair request of asking us to sit closer to table, as we are already sitting very close to table). Its your consecutive mistakes that lead to my raised voice. Dont fingerpoint and pretend you are the victim. At the end of the day, we are the customers who get harmed. No one else does.

Noodle Talk
4546 El Camino Real # A6, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
I have had several super positive experiences with Noodle Talk and I finally had to share. First of all, their food is amazing! Fresh ingredients and a lot of thoughtfulness goes into the menu. This is the difference between having a real chef who cares and a business that just wants to make money. The feeling I get from Noodle Talk is that there is a lot of care of thoughtfulness that goes into making this place stand above other Chinese food restaurants in the Bay Area. They have local art and seem to care about being part of the community. Later after being a customer for a few times I asked Noodle Talk to provide food for two different events and that gave me a whole new perspective. They were very professional and easy to deal with. In one case we needed food last minute for about 40+ people, and Noodle Talk came through! The food was prepared on time, fresh, and with great presentation. I feel like I discovered a restaurant that I can depend on for reliably yummy food and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit in person or have food for their event. Thanks so much!

Charley Noodle & Grill
244 State St, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
There are very few times that Yelp has led me down a wrong path and this is one of them. Im not sure how this place receives an average 4 star rating. We ordered the ramen with spicy tonkatsu broth. You have to add each topping separately. Most ramen incorporates the spices to the soup base to make it spicy. When I received it, there was a layer of hot oil floating on top. The noodles tasted like the ramen noodles from a package. It has that same waxy exterior that is very distinctive. The signs of a good ramen is the noodle and the soup. Both failed. The egg was over cooked and the yolk had a grayish ring. The one redeeming thing is the minced pork. It was flavorful, but again on the dry side.My husband ordered the General Tsos chicken. The batter was light and crispy, but the chicken was super dry. The sauce was sweet without the spicy and tangy.

Amber India
4926 El Camino Real, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
Horrible Overpriced Buffet, Lack of Options, Lots of waiters on deck, but none of them care.- The buffet is 20$ a pop, and 4$ for a basic drink. They wont tell you that the drink is non included in the buffet, but will keep a menu on the table saying lunch drinks options which have no prices listed next to any drink, leading you to believe they are a part of the buffet menu (typical black design pattern)- There are no spoons - only forks and knives. On asking the waiter, we never got one.- There were 2 potato appetizers, both were decent, but that was all. There was pani puri which had good tasting pani (liquid), but no filling to put in the puri. Paying 20$ for an Indian Buffet, I expect to have at least ONE meat-based appetizer.- The waiters kept Naans (hot flat-bread) on our table the moment we sat down. By the time we got to our main course, they were cold and hard. I noticed a table away, someone had the same problem, and asked the waiters to replace the Naans that was kept on the table as soon as they arrived.- The non-vegetarian curries (masala chicken, butter chicken, fish curry) were objectively some of the worst curries I have tasted in the Bay Area. Both the butter chicken and fish curry gravy was not at all made well, and you could taste the raw ingredients in them. Everyone on our table left them after a single taste due to how bad they were. The masala chicken looked unappetizing and the taste was in the same ballpark.- Vegetarian curries were plentiful in options and I do not have much to complain about them. Overall they were decent in taste and selection, but nothing stood out to me as wow or even slightly uplifted my mood, after everything else that was wrong with this place.- The waiters barely cared about what we wanted or needed. They would quickly come to pick up our used plates, or to fill up our waters, but any request made to them fell on deaf ears. It seemed like they were trained to quickly replenish water or clear plates, but not much else. Example, when asked for Garlic naan, the waiters brought out a basket of plain naan, without even bothering to explain why there was no garlic. When the waiter came to give the check, I explicitly mentioned we had a bad experience and it was not good at all, he did not even bat and eye, simply walked away (possibly to pick up some other plates or refill water in a record time)- I saw all the comments about the ambience and was hoping to be wowed, but honestly its as good as any other upscale restaurant in the area, nothing making it worth pushing their lacking food quality under the rug. This is the first buffet I have been to in my life where I did not even finish my first plate of food. It was lacking in all manners, and their uncouth staff made things worse. Seeing the bills and the additional hidden costs added more salt on my wounds. Nonetheless I gave them a generous tip, hopefully one of the swift waiters will become an athletic runner some day.TL:DR DO NOT TRY THEIR BUFFET UNLESS YOU LIKE THROWING MONEY AWAY

Pursuit Salon
4744 W El Camino Real, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
I had an appointment here as a hair model with Sarah. I went in with no idea that this place even existed or what to expect and I left feeling amazing and so light. I hadn't had my hair cut in YEARS and before then I had done it myself because I hadn't had many good experiences in the salon before. I decided while I was there to make it a point to return for my next cut. Sarah did an amazing job on my hair! It was drastic and a big change because of my length and she handled it beautifully. Everyone I interacted with at the salon was so sweet, and the place has an amazing energy. It was a total mood booster and I'm so happy I found a place that Im confident I'll leave feeling beautiful and excited. They gave me coffee, it smelled amazing, the lighting isn't harsh, it has good air flow, I could go on about how much the whole environment really added to my experience but I want to thank Sarah again who cut my hair beautifully, patiently, and meticulously (all while being great at it) and the owners who very obviously ensure their salon leaves guests feeling the way I did. I saw other stylists mastering their craft on all types of hair, so if anyone's reading this considering whether or not to visit Pursuit, please do! They deserve it, and I will be back once my hair grows out. Until then, I'm in love with my transformation and I couldn't be happier that I went there to model for Sarah. Thank you guys so much!!

Sweet Diplomacy Gluten-Free Patisserie Los Altos
209 1st St, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
I've been gluten free for 15 years, and it has been rough. But I have made the most of it by searching for gluten free treats everywhere I go. I've had gluten free pastries in dozens of cities including London, Florence, Madrid, Sacramento, Lahaina, and Austin. Other than the now shuttered Helmut Newcake in Paris, Sweet Diplomacy is my favorite of all time (and only 20 minutes away!). If you have tried baking gluten free you know pastry (choux, puff, flakey) is really hard to do. This place gets pastry and cakes as close to wheat flour as it gets. I enjoy all of the offerings but I'm most impressed by the pastry. The cream puffs OMG. And today I tried the tiramisu for the first time (it knocked my socks off). The coffee is excellent, and I love their cupcake varieties and cookies but my stomach is only so big.I personally do not reach for the vegan offerings but this is because I don't need to (give me butter!!). If you have restrictions they have nut free and vegan options.I'm super impressed by this, especially knowing the difficulty of GF baking.

Satura Cakes
200 Main St, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
For those of you who like Paris Baguette type Asian bakeries you will love Satura. My Korean friends who are fans of Paris Baguette love this place so I gave it a 3 star. I prefer traditional French patisseries so its more of a 1 star for me.We did try 4 different times, just because we live in the area, and are in Los Altos downtown eating several times a week. The last time we tried a fresh Tiramisu (we checked that it was sold out two days before so we knew it was relatively fresh), almond croissant, coffee bun, and some savory items. None of them rang our bells, not worth the calories. The tiramisu looked pretty but was just a lot of dense cream. Almond croissant not flaky but plenty of almond cream. The coffee buns are our favorite of the bunch, since we like Korean mocha bread.Husband was not happy to find that savory items like the ham and cheese croissant, bacon leek scone, had a sweet taste.Beware freshness levels. Long lines dont mean everything is sold out that day. Especially the cookies and cakes are only replaced on certain days when they run out I guess. If you want to be sure, go on an afternoon to see what they are sold out of. Then the next day they are likely to have fresh ones. On a weekday morning for example we got a rancid doughnut. The doughnut wasnt freshly fried, nor was the oil used good quality. It didnt even look good, but we naively assumed everything was freshly baked that morning (it isnt) and we tried it thinking it may taste better than it looked due to all the rave reviews.I also ordered a dino cake (sorry, I had pics but got deleted) for a baby birthday party and everyone loved it. The frosting is light. I am not a fan of strawberry shortcake to begin with, and felt that it wasnt fresh. There was some slight bleeding of the eye decoration. Assuming they assemble them a couple of days before and refrigerate them until pickup. Also, while the concept of animal theme cake is cute, the cake decorating skills could have been better. Its very basic, like a supermarket birthday cake level. I know this is Silicon Valley but for almost a hundred, you would think you could get a perfect cake.

Main Street Bagels
666 Los Altos Rancho, Los Altos, CA 94024, United States
Things changed and regrettably not for the better. We have been coming to this shop for years. They had excellent bagels and a very pleasant and friendly lady at the counter. No anymore. Both changed. The person at the counter is inattentive and unfriendly, the bagels are inconsistent in quality - some look like buns with no holes, some are not connected and different sizes or under baked. The price also went up over 22%. Too bad... It was nice while it lasted.

Bevri - Los Altos
325 Main St, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
Was looking for a new place to try for our GNO, and came across Bevri. There is a location in Palo Alto, but the location in Los Altos was much closer to us. I have to say, anything and everything about this restaurant was great. The food was amazing, the quality and quantity great, the service was pretty darn good.Upon arrival, they were packed inside and out, but we were seated immediately; I like when a place understand the concept of ‘reservations'. We sat inside where tables are nicely spaced out. They have a full bar, but we opted to cork our own wine; corkage is $35 a bottle. The food is soooo good, and since I didn't order (friend ordered for the table to share family style), I have no idea what each item is called, but it looks as good as it tastes, just show the waiter my photos. EVERYTHING we had was DELISH. The dumplings are huge so don't order too many at once; can add on if you need to. There is also a cheesy bread thing; you HAVE to get that.I haven't had good food like this in a long time. And the service was sooo great. And honestly, it wasn't a pricy meal at all. Two apps, three entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine between four girls cost us each $55 after tax and tip. Not bad if you ask me.We found parking pretty easily bc we got lucky someone was pulling out as we arrived to the strip. But I'd definitely allow some time to find parking as it looks like it can be pretty busy.

Whole Foods Market
4800 El Camino Real, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
A fine all-round high end very large grocery market place carrying a multitude selections of food, drinks, snacks, fresh produce, frozen foods, prepared foods and desserts for take home. Home care, personal care, and baby care products. Safer products without all the toxins youll find in commercial cleaning supplies. Dental, hair, and make-up supplies. Supplements of all types, natural health care products. Fresh seafood and meat choice counters. Hot buffet style dishes and soups (before covid interfered.) Pizza counter. Sandwich and burrito counter. Self-fill filtered water station. Excellent dairy and non-dairy choice selections. Gluten - free selections of food, along with the usual choices. Lots of fresh bread and quality commercial bread choices. Organic choices in food along with non-organic. Prices run on the expensive side, although some discounts are given if you are a special member of Amazon. Parking is plentiful. There is handicap and electric car recharge designated parking. Bathrooms are usually well-equipped and handicap accessible. Staff is trained to be very helpful, and to keep the store tidy and clean. There are food store shoppers and delivery service available here. I believe that Amazon ordered items can be picked up from lockers here (?) There had been a casual dining area both indoors and outdoors before covid rules destroyed that. At this point of time, they could and should reinstate the outdoor dining areas, but have chosen not to instead. ? Management please look into that. You have customers that are traveling far by car, bus, hike, and bike that are hungry and would like to eat on spot.
