2023-02-10 05:47:38Today, I tried suggi ootas newest item in their menu Masala Puri and would like to review it.Masala Puri is my fav snack and have tried out in more than 100+ places back in India and was excited to try it out immediately when suggi oota introduced it.Masala puri tasted really good and the aroma was pretty amazing as well. The portion size was good and felt the puris were crispy. Felt at 14$ per plate its overpriced. I will definitely order though, since its my favorite snack.

2023-09-07 21:20:37Got the mini meal today - palak pulao, raita, corn salad, aloo gobi and roti. It felt home cooked and was a well balanced delicious meal. Will order again!

2022-06-21 05:54:31We chose Suggi Oota to cater lunch for our baby shower. We invited different groups of friends to our function and initially planned to serve traditional South Indian meal. But Ranjini had a larger catering order with a different fusion menu.The menu included Bean Burger and bbq corn tarts for starters. American Chop Suey, Beetroot roti with lotus root curry and fried rice with tofu for main course. Dessert was beetroot halwa with almond nut cream. We were not sure if everyone would like the items but we trusted Ranjini. She was very sweet and answered all of our questions and accommodated our request to keep the food ready by 12.30 PM.The food in itself was just too good. From fresh, crispy bean burger patty to the finely diced vegetables in fried rice, everything was perfection. The lotus root curry was a hit. Beetroot halwa turned out to be better than carrot halwa. The usually neglected fried rice was empty. Almost all the guests asked for the Suggi Oota’s contact.The best part is how we felt the next day. We did not feel like we had a heavy lunch, masala was apt and there wasn’t any food color residue on my fingers that I noticed. I think Ranjini loves to cook, there was no other explanation for the excellency she dished out. Thank you so much for answering all of our questions and exceeding our expectations. We are so glad to have found you :)

2023-10-04 20:14:08We catered from Suggi Oota for an event of 70 people and received compliments on the food from every single one of them. The price was great and food delicious. They even delivered the food to San Francisco without spillage and the food was still warm and fresh when we received it. Best kannadiga food in the bay area.

2022-01-10 23:09:20I came across suggi oota online and wanted to use their catering for our house warming ceremony. I was looking for an authentic and good Karnataka food in Bay Area which is very hard to find. I did read most of the reviews before speaking to Ranjini and so glad we chose suggi oota☺️ I wish I could give more than 5 stars. All the reviews speak volumes about how good Suggi oota food is. The whole experience of ordering for catering was so smooth. When you speak to Ranjini you can feel the passion she has towards food. I called her a week before my event to order Karnataka food for about 45 people. She was so cooperative in deciding the menu and gave such amazing options. So impressed with the quality of the food. We had our friends parents visiting from Bangalore and they felt the food was exactly like what one would find in Karnataka. It’s really hard to pick one item as the best☺️☺️ everyone loved her appetizers Mirchi Bhajji and ambode, ghee rice was just too good with kurma. The methi chapathi was so good all my friends asked for extra servings to take home. What surprised me most was her sambhar. Generally with such catering orders people just give an ordinary sambhar, but Ranjini made the Sambhar with drumstick and all other veggies and you can feel as if it was made by someone’a mom. For desserts we ordered godhi payasa and dry gulab jamun. I am not a big fan of dry gulab jamun here in Bay Area but the one made by Ranjini was so good !! We hardly had anything left over. The godhi pyasa is just like what you would eat in Karnataka temples.What impressed me was the quality of the ingredients she used and went an extra mile to make the appetizers just before our order pickup so that people can enjoy it while it’s hot.I am so glad Ranjini decided to open suggi oota so that other people can enjoy her cooking as well. Thank you Ranjini for making our house warming event so special with food that all our friends and family enjoyed. 😍😍 Look no further for amazing Karnataka food for any events you are planning. You will be impressed so much by the care and passion Ranjini takes in her cooking.

2022-12-26 19:05:38Whenever we went to any Indian event the food was always north Indian! The menu will be the same as if Indian food doesnt have varieties. Every catering offers easy options like Paneer Curry, Dal tadka.. So I decided that if there is function at my home it should be our food from Karnataka. I wanted catering from Suggi Oota so badly that I was ready to adjust with anything. Ranjini also cooperated well with our menu and timings. The food was ready at the right time to pick it up. Holige was too good! Everyone liked the Sambar. Chitranna, Masala Vade, Sagu, Chapathi, Hesarulkaalu playa, Kosambri, Happla and pickle were equally good. Ranjini loves what shes is doing. Highly recommend her for south Indian catering in the bay area.

2023-04-17 04:40:00Good food. We ordered from the parking lot of the pickup place and it was ready ~25 mins for pickup. It did not come with spoons and forks so we have to go home to eat it. The food was tasty. Loved the avial/saagu palya. The mixed bath was pretty Spivey for us but it comes with raitha so that worked out. The jaggery payisa/sweet was also very tasty. We could not choose individual items we just ordered 3 of their combo boxes.

2023-07-19 06:02:00We ordered food from Suggi Oota for my son’s first birthday. It was great working with the owner, she had good suggestions for the menu items and was very accommodating. Our guests loved the food and kept asking us where ordered food from. The highlight of the meal was payasam. We will continue to order from Suggi Oota on a regular basis. Thanks again!

2022-09-17 04:45:32Best Karnataka style (south-Indian) food in Bay Area. It’s very appetizing and flavorful. My wife and me felt like we were eating home food back in India. We have had weekday lunch meals which is really good and special Friday night meal with Holige is the best. We highly recommend this to everyone.

2022-01-23 07:07:19This is a cloud kitchen setup where you can order food before hand and pick it up from their brick and mortar kitchen. For the weekday you can order the day before and collect it on the given weekday. Monday is a holiday. There is a special meal on Saturday. Sunday of only brunch. The menu varies on a daily basis. The menu varies based on odd and even week basis. For the Saturday dinner, the reservation opens from Wednesday onwards. The cuisine is primarily Karnataka based cuisine. We ordered the Saturday dinner. It has plain rice, tamarind rice, masala vada, buttermilk, mango pulp drink, sweet puranpoli, kosambari(salad of carrot and urad dal), moong dal sprout curry. The food was really tasty and was balanced in flavor. It was like a really well home cooked meal. This is one of the only places where you can get a good Karnataka based meal. I certainly recommend this for all people to taste it. We are surely planning to try out next Saturday for the North Karnataka meal with the Jowar roti and thethe accompaniments.
