The staff here is the sweetest you’ll ever meet. Service is fast, food is delicious, and location is perfect! A must try in Hollister! I love trying their new rolls/specials. They recently updated their menu and the new rolls are amazing too! I asked our waitress which one was her favorite and tried all of the ones she recommended. Amazing choice!

Excellent food. We are coming back here... often. We got the mixed tempura, salmon sashimi, salmon teriyaki, CA handroll, and the San Benito roll... this is all that is left.

Typically order the California roll and crunchy roll, while both taste delicious the crunchy roll will sometimes come with the shrimp still frozen on the inside. Other than that i have no complaints at all! My wife loves the masubi and the chicken katsu

I don’t know what it is with these Japanese restaurants in Hollister. This is the second one I’ve gone to that does not use an umami or dashi base. I suppose this is better than the other restaurant in town, which gave me hot water. (Bleh!)I ordered the chicken udon, and all I got was hot water with soy sauce and mirin. Though I got a lot of chicken and a lot of noodles, I had just a few pieces of vegetables. In other words, this isn’t what you would typically expect from a Japanese restaurant. You expect a lot more, with far better quality. For the ~$15 they charge, that’s rather pricey. I’ve ate at other Japanese places in in the Silicon Valley where you get much more food (and better food) for the same price. I guess that’s what happens when you don’t want to drive an hour out of town to San Jose. You get what hand you’re dealt and just have to play the best you can.

Surprisingly good! Mexicans chefs throw it down with the sushi! Small place. Con is that the service is not the greatest. Its a little slow and there was one waiter that didnt let people sit where they wanted and they way she asked them to move was a bit rude and rushed.

Out of all the miso soups in the bay area i’ve had this place the broth is perfect perfect and not a lot of seaweed which i appreciate…i get chicken katsu bowl and man oh man it’s just perfect i really cannot find faults in this place it’s always good always consistent food. thank you!

This was a great place for sushi in Hollister. The staff were beyond helpful and super nice. The sushi was really good and we enjoyed our time at the restaurant. I was a little hesitant for the only sushi place but this was a great surprise and I will definitely come back. Thank you for the great food and the great time

Place was clean which is nice. Service was also very kind and attentive. Suishi wasnt bad, but compared to alot of other suishi places, it wasnt amazing either. Most of it tasted fresh besides one piece of tuna. I didnt order any special rolls, just basic rolls and nigiri, so I can only judge based on that. They used toasted seaseme seeds mixed in with their maki rolls which im personally not a fan of, but all things considered not a bad spot.

Best sushi in town, and its not even a close second. There are a variety of options on the menu. Best rolls, in my opinion, are the AJ roll, San Juan, and my family also loves the SF roll. I have been here many times and the food is consistent. Very little variation from one day to the other, even when it may be a different chef preparing the meal. I wont say I havent had better, but I can say there isnt better that Ive had for at least a hour drive in any direction.

Wanted to try a new place in walking distance from my house people were nice but did not see or talk to them much. They brought my ladys food out 10 minutes before mine witch is fine with me but she waited of course and it became cold. The sushi was not so great at all. Ive had better at a buffet. Im sorry to write a bad review but I hope it helps how they do things to improve. I most likely will not eat here again. sorry but best of luck to you guys.

This place used to be better. Granted, The last time I was there was over a couple years ago. I was excited to get some good sushi, but was met with regret. We ordered 2 bento boxes. Every side had zero flavor. Seemed like everything we ordered just wasnt seasoned. The chicken teriyaki, on the other hand, was too salty. If it was any better I would try them again, but you could truly tell the lack of effort involved in making our food. Maybe they are falling back on their 4+ review score or only looking at comments like omg the staff was so friendly sorry folks, but I came for sushi and was disappointed to find their kindness didnt translate into salt and pepper for my food.

Friendly atmosphere even though we walked in with a stroller and the lady looked horrified. Its small inside.2 stars because the food lacks flavor and variety. Very bland. I had to smother my rolls in wasabi for taste. Probably wont be back.

Ive been to this restaurant several times and usually its great! Friendly people and good food. The only reason why its down to 3 stars is because when I ordered a bento box I found three hairs in my tempura. I didnt say anything because Im a shy high schooler but please take care of that unsanitary issue

The Vegas roll is very good, I had a different taste in mind for tThe Lion King roll. Its usually baked, sauce on too is warm and salmon nicely baked but the one here is cold and sauce is white. Would go back for CA roll and vegas roll

The gyoza was good but we sat for a long time waiting for our food. The server tried to give us someone elses order. The owner (?) checked on us (they forgot our order) and then they burned it (chicken don buri) trying to get it out to us. The charred flavor seeped into the sauce. The place was busy (usually a good sign) but didnt seem to have enough help. We had to ask for spoons and our server barely checked on us. AJs is a popular place but I dont think Ill be back.

Havent been here in awhile and unfortunately tonight we ordered California rolls, Philadelphia rolls, and some mixed tempura. The California rolls were missing avocado so we let the our waiter know and brought back a plate with sliced avocado over the rolls really? One of the Philadelphia rolls was missing salmon completely. Food overall very inconsistent not sure Ill be back again.

As good or better than Sushi we have had out of town! Great bang for the buck, everything tastes great, insanely personable and awesome service. They give you free edamame and miso soup if you eat in and the times we have picked up orders they often have it ready before they say it will be ready.

Went here for dinner about a week ago, and it was terrible.Food: Im not sure how you mess up teriyaki chicken, its litterally two ingredients and a grill, but they managed it. The chicken was as dry as the mojave desert, and the flavorless teriyaki sauce didnt do much to help. The rest of the food was much the same, though the sushi rolls themselves were moderately acceptable. Portions were pretty small.Service: The restaurant was really quiet when we entered, maybe only 10 other customers or so. Still, I had to flag down the waiter for refills on my drink, and the check. She spent most of her time at the cash register chatting with another of the employees.Id like to say that the saving grace of this restaurant was the price, which was very reasonable, but given that the food and service was so bad, even the price doesnt justify it.

The sashimi I ordered was almost dry and rubbery, none of the sashimi or rolls had very much flavor and the fish in the rolls was also very dry and rubbery. Could not have been more disappointed. 👎

Decent service, but food was gross. Sushi should be fresh and impeccably prepared.The rolls were too loose, and fell apart when picked up. Mackerel was spoiled, sent it back. They were accommodating but bad fish in a sushi restaurant kind of spoils the whole experience. I guess this passes as good sushi for Hollister, but if youve ever had real sushi its not the place to go. They actually ask if you want wasabi when you order! I dont know who that guy in the photo is, but there were no Asian chefs there when we went. The tempura veggies were actually very good, but everything else was not.

Okay so normally I wouldnt give this place 2 stars but tonight I am. Our appetizer was given to the table next to us, then after they offered to get us another one It took an additional 20 minutes on top of the 25 minutes we already waited so I canceled the damn order! We celebrated my husband’s Birthday here this past weekend and we were so happy we chose Aj Supreme sushi! Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our big family! Food is amazing!
