Love this place. Usually get the Bulgogi lunch special w/soft tofu soup. A little bit pricey for lunch, but so worth it. Soft tofu soup is fantastic and can be modified to your tastes with all the different add-ins available (extra), I mainly go for the soup which is available by itself as well. The waitstaff are friendly and prompt. I always have a great experience here.
Authentic, home-made tasting food! And the service was excellent! Visited while staying in Oxnard short term and this establishment far exceeded expectations. I highly recommend it!

This place brought memories of my trips to South Korea. The way they make their spicy pork had me reminiscing about the wonderful times we had with the mother-like Korean lady that would treat us like her own children. Best Korean Restaurant in Oxnard!
Delicious food like always and it was a little busy but the waitress was so kind we did not mind waiting a lil longer for our food.
Sura is incredibly tasty and flavorful Korean cuisine. The vegetable Sun Du bu was delicious and each of the side dishes had a burst of unique flavor — spicy, sweet, savory. The colorful dishes were a feast for the eyes.
Expensive depending on what u get. Bulgogi was good but not filling. Sides were good however the rice was odd. Spicy pork was good.
This used to be one of my go-to places when I lived in CA. Love the spicy pork, which wasnt as good as it was 6 months ago when I was there. I was in town on business, friends and I went for dinner and the waitress was rude. We arrived, and the waitress said we close in 30 minutes, so you only get to order once. Ok, no problem. We ordered quickly and called her back to ask for a straw and silverware, and she just made grumpy noises and got snappy. My friend asked for water, and the waitress made a face and rolled her eyes at us. Next time Im in town, Ill take my friends elsewhere.

I like the food, no doubt. And also, I have no problem giving a tip specially if the food is really good and service is outstanding. but if you will add 18% tip in the receipt without telling about it, plus some staff has an attitude, that’s a big No GO for me. Besides I always leave cash on the table for tips if service is 👍. 0 if 👎🏿🤭.

Best new food experience Ive had in quite some time. I had the soft tofu clay pot soup with mushrooms. It was brought to the table boiling and I was given a fresh egg to crack into it. The egg cooked to perfection. I ordered it medium spicy, flavors were full and spot on! I ❤️ this soup. Thank you Sura staff for being so helpful and accommodating (gluten-free)

The food is very good. The dolsot bibimbap is excellent. I had it with tofu. We had the black noodles last time. Also excellent. Try the kimchi pancake as an appetizer. So good.The owner is very nice and the service is attentive and friendly.Soju and sake, make your meal complete!
Poor costumer service, they kicked us out like 10 minutes after getting the foods- I’m like if you closing why did you let us in, is 7pm late-, we literally left our food and drinks untouched, she gave me food and bills together, overpriced place the menu has different prices they charge double the amount.

This is a Korean restaurant for non-Korean people. Not for Koreans. It’s not “authentic” as some of you mentioned.Almost 20 bucks for 짜장면? It wasn’t even that good. I could get a tastier $10 bowl at the food court at the Galleria. Looking at the rest of their menu; everything is overpriced. $33 for 불고기? Do you have a Michelin star that no one knows about? How shameless to charge crazy prices for mediocre food.I guess you have to charge ridiculous prices when you have a waterfront spot.사기꾼!

Ok - let me talk about this place.First off, we live an hour from Koreatown but we learned about Sura from a friend. We were nervous about trying a place 30 min from our home but thought to give it a shot.Service:10/10. Judy took our order, was prompt, attentive and ensured our food came out FAST. She’s warm and incredible with customers.Food:The kimchi pancake was crispy and packed with flavor. I can tell they used ripe kimchi which made everything 10x better.The Galbi (beef short rib) was juicy, tender, and the marinade tasted like galbi youd get in koreatown (just without the stress of driving in traffic)Ok - the TOFU SOUP. We loved the broth. It had a deep and toasty flavor to it.We crave Korean food often and Id say this is the best in Ventura county!

I used to like Sura but I have celiac and they stop offering any of their seafood, meat, or chicken gluten free so I can no longer go there. Which means when the groups I go out with decide where to go, we dont go there anymore.

I am a Korean and love Korean food. I rather drive to LA K-town than eating Korean food here. Their side dishes are okay but soft tofu soup was nono. I can just buy a prepackaged one from Korean markets and make it at home. I will not go back to this place. 😒
The place is small (great bathroom) food is good, but not enough Galbi pieces - lunch should be a least 7 pieces and a larger rice container. They did not have mandu soup only soondoboo which was good. Lunch is very pricey @ $20+ already. Might as well go to GEN and get your $$$ worth for $26.99 and ALL YOU CAN EAT and they have soondoboo at least as a soup and bottomless GALBI.
I love this place! The seating is quick, the environment is calm and relaxing. Waiters are great. And the chef is polite because he is always waving goodbye as we walk out. I personally go there for their soft tofu stew.

This place is so awesome!! We love Korean BBQ and this place offers a good variety of traditional Korean BBQ as well as some spins on things. The portions are great and prices are extremely fair! Service is incredible!! Been there 3 times and always they remember us as well as give us new dishes from the chef to sample! Would recommend this place, definitely.

Located in a shopping center, parking was a challenge. Came in for a late lunch on a weekday and seating was easy. You order from a menu. I ordered from the lunch specials. I chose Mandu Soup and BBQ ribs. The servings were generous and the food was excellent. Service was great. My complaint was that if a dish is listed as a lunch special, it should be under the $10 level. Im glad we went and would go again.
Outstanding experience. Excellent and tasty. Wife and i were discussing how much we were craving some BiBimBob, and how there wasnt anywhere in the ventura area. But we thought try a googlw search and found Sura. So we grabbed the kids and drove out and we were so happy we did. From the homemade kimchi to the purple rice everything was perfect. The kids meals were a well thought out meal that both kids devoured. As a bonus we had a great walk along the waterfront after dinner. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes authentic asian foods run by truly nice people that obviously care.
Food was unbelievable!! Best linguine and clams I HAVE EVER TASTED!! My wifes Lasagna melted in your mouth, literally!!! Our friends ravioli equally as delicious. The experience was topped off with the MOST beautiful birthday deserts (w/candles) I have ever seen a restaurant serve. Pure CLASS!!
I loved every part of this meal. My husband and I split the hush puppies, wedge salad, short rib, and brownie. Every part was so good I could have eaten a whole meal of just that. By the way there was plenty of food for 2 people and very reasonably priced considering how stuffed and satisfied we were. I cant wait to go back to try more dishes here. Also the service was amazing- we went for our wedding anniversary and we were greeted with a card signed by all of the staff and our dessert was free :)

Amazing Korean food! Definitely going to be a regular at this place. My husband and I are obsessed with South Korea after visiting this past year and the food at Sura just brought us right back! The kimchee jjigae and side dishes were so good. We stuffed ourselves. Definitely, highly recommend!!!!
Excellent service with a mostly traditional but relatively expensive Korean menu. Kimchi pancakes, fried pot stickers, radish soup, and standard side dishes of kimchi, seaweed, sweet potatoes, etc.--all were there and delicious. We tried the beef ribs and spicy pork for entrees and they were fine. Hope to get back there sometime.
Tried their soon tofu a few nights ago.Really good. No longer have to drive to the valley. Besides, it is so much nicer walking back to the car when you are done. The weather is beautiful out here.

A bit of a small set up, two or three tables favoring their waterfront. This place is incredible, I have never been disappointed. I love the bent box specials and equally a, grateful that I can order a little more of the bento pieces I enjoy the most. Wait staff is a hit or miss.Make sure you double check hours before coming in, they don’t open unti 11:30 or 12.Beef Bulgogie is my favorite on the menu!

The BEST Korean food around! Plus great service! The bulgogi is amazing...tender thin slices of ribeye with a delicious sweet teriyaki sauce. Stir fried vegetables with tofu, mixed tempura, tasty rice bowls where the rice gets deliciously burnt on the bottom topped with quality meats and veggies. I look for restaurants that use high quality ingredients and this place definitely is in that category. Ive been here alot and its always consistently good. I WILL be back!!

I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and the service is good. The female owner is there almost all the time and is always friendly even if youre not Korean (like Im not). Everything Ive had so far has been delicious, but I always tend to go for the Bulgogi, the chicken gui, the stone pot or the Kim chi pancake. They also serve purple rice here which always makes me sigh in ecstasy. My only complaint is that I wish they delivered... but they dont. *sigh* Still, its the best korean food in Ventura County.
Ordered beef bulgogi for takeout for 27 dollars; very disappointed in serving size, definitely not worth 27 dollars, the small serving size equivalent to when you order a combo meal; been a long time customer of Sura, maybe a new short order cook or due to Covid???, please look into this matter Sura management; typical price for a bulgogi main dish is 18 -19 dolllars...Also, only got one ban Chan plate, we ordered 4 full main dishes, two ban Chan plate please....
Ordered 6 main dishes (over 90 dollars) for take-out but only got very small portion of ban-Chan and kimchee ( barely enough for two people); even my Father who never complains mentioned about the lack of kimchee; please Sura owners, the side dishes, ban Chan and kimchee should be COMMENSURATE with the main dishes ; if we were to dine-in, the side dishes and kimchee are no lack of; please support your take-out customers who cannot dine-in; please….
There food was good. Service was very good. It felt a bit expensive but given there are not a lot of other Korean food options around the immediate area I understand. I had dolsot bi bim bap with chicken and all was great. Spicy wasnt very spicy so if you like it hot be aware.

On the seventh day of the self-service tour in the United States, I finally couldn’t bear to eat some rice. This Korean food tastes great. I ordered a pork tofu pot. It only costs 1 US dollar to add a serving of pork. The small dishes are delicious and can be continued!

I would definitely go here again especially for a casual meal. Its a good place to go on a small couple romantic meal for a No-Frills dinner. Also good for larger groups. Portions are good. Healthy wholesome food.

We first came here a few years ago with friends and ever since then I’ve wanted to return. We don’t live in the area but if we did I would definitely be a regular customer. Our server was very friendly and attentive.

2023-09-18 16:35:58Service is terrible.We went to lunch around 3 pm Friday last week.We have order three main courses so we expect to get side dishes for all three main courses one serving eachBut the server only brought 1 serving of each in very little quantities and asked us to share them, which is fine.However when we asked for kimchi refills she said they charge extra. I don’t mind paying extra when we asked for extra but she didn’t give us enough in the first place and she wants to charge extra. She should have given us three servings that we purchased and could have told us that she had to charge extra for refills. Either way she was very rude and annoying irrespective.We noticed she came by to another table who is Asian and asked them how is the food and is everything good? but she didn’t bother asking us although I didn’t care …. It is prove the point she is rude.Food was awesome and thanks to chef but needless to say service ruined the experience for nearly $100 food we ate for 3 people……. This is 2nd time coming here .... first time experience was great..... but not the 2nd time
