Wow… I went to this place years ago with family-friends and I am so happy to say that they are as good, if not even better, than when I first tried their sushi here!! Their baked scallop rolls and baked salmon rolls are TO DIE FOR! Literally some of the best sushi I’ve ever had… The lady special roll with soy paper is also very refreshing and I would highly recommend it as a pairing to some of the denser rolls :) The service here is wonderful and the chefs are so kind! They have even waved goodbye to me before! The atmosphere here is the literal best and specifically set up for calmness and relaxation with green vines creating a little privacy for guests and a warm light that really helps you settle in. My favorite sushi restaurant and a real treat for someone who you’d want to share it with! :)

Working from my laptop today, and vibing for Sushi, I decided to order delivery from Sushi Umi because it seemed like a sushi place that values fresh and high quality food, and I was not disappointed! My food came warm in sustainable packaging with all utensils & condiments necessary, also noting the value just in the portions provided. My order consisted of a Special Roll called the Aloha Roll (see pics), Mixed Tempura and Miso Soup appetizers. The food was excellently crafted, and left me more than satisfied. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I would gladly provide my recommendation for Sushi Umi. They have earned my trust and I will provide them business for their services in near future. 🍙🍣👍👍

I have been dining here for almost 2 years. It had a Nice and calm atmosphere. Service is quick and it has decent pricing. I like their Philadelphia roll. I usually order a bento, sashimi and a roll. Unfortunately tonight the tuna was not good. It had very bad smell to it. I left a piece of Tuna sashimi and asked the waitress to ask the chef to check it. To my surprise the waitress came back with the check and totally ignored my request. Well they just lost a loyal customer.

Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff. The food and the quality are great. But I did expect a bit more on traditional Japanese sushi. I think I should try on the special rolls instead next time.

It’s been a while I was at Sushi Zuni but glad that everything was just as good as when I ate here last. Tasty Ramen, fresh cali rolls and crunchy tempura for a reasonable price. Great service as well.

This place has the best yellowtail sashimi. Its really a hidden gem. Be careful when youre driving you just might pass it! Its right behind McDonalds on Hacienda. Keep going on Hacienda until you pass McDonalds, turn right into the parking lot. Service there is splendid! I love everything about this restaurant.

Rated this 3 out of 5 stars. These are the outstanding flavors we liked. That of the shrimp tempura and its sauce. The texture of the tempura crust was light and crunchy. The best we encountered as of recent. We like the Kalbi of the Teriyaki Beef Chicken dish. The quantity of the food served was generous. The presentation or plating of the food was quite nice. The marketing materials, like the menu and place mats are very classy.Ways we felt food we ate could be improved, were the flavor and moistness of the Teriyaki chicken, the texture and firmness of the rice in the Rainbow Sushi Roll. The Teriyaki Salmon was nicely cooked and attractively presented on the dish, however like the seafood items in the Rainbow sushi roll, fish items seemed not to have a seafood flavor and texture. This is something we noticed this week with food from another restaurant serving Poke in Whittier. Maybe its the source of the products, perhaps items may have been previously frozen. But in fairness this is making taste comparisons against fresh seafoods eaten on Oahu, Hawaii.We noted on the Sunday we ate, it was about half full and some families brought their little children to dine there. Also there were four Caucasian diners. The staff is friendly and service is quick. The clean up after people left was rapid. This place has elements of a nice establishment, tidiness would help make it even more attractive. We were there Mothers Day Sunday May 2023, and its at the lingering tail end of the 2-year Covid shutdown.

A table reservation is an arrangement made in advance to have a table available at a restaurant This is what google says a reservation is; apparently the management and staff at this restaurant are CONFUSED. I made a reservation for 8 pm valentines day with my fiance. I arrived to a flurry of chaos. I was not approached or greeted, I had to track down a staff member and inform them I had called and had a reservation. They told me there were several others that had called with reservations ahead of me along with others that just walked in. WHATS THE POINT OF MAKING A TABLE RESERVATION IN ADVANCE IF THERE IS NO TABLE RESERVED. Just tell me there arent any reservations because youre too busy and its valentines day. Dont waste my time. Ill make a real reservation somewhere else. Also I have to add I love this place, go all the time and the food is fantastic; but what the heck! Not okay! Valentines dinner was ruined.

Very Good tasting Sushi! Unfortunately not all their Sushi rice holds it together. Salmon Kama and Yellow Tail Kama is good! Dynamite is good! Ambience needs upgrade. Air Vent circulation for oily odor has improved, but should be fixed completely. Service is good! The price for what You order is more on point then not. I was just their for lunch take-out. I admittedly didn’t tip well because it was take out. Then, I saw the massive amount of food they hooked me up with complete with green tea ice cream! At the place, all social distancing measures were in place, so it’s very clean and sanitary. They also deliver for free within 3 miles. This is definitely a great place during these times. I recommend the large sashimi as a delicious value for a family. Enjoy!

Ive been coming here since I was a little boy the food has always been very good. The best part about this place has to be the service. The Korean lady who works here and is the manager and I think owner as well as in a very good job of customer care. During birthdays she gets on the piano and starts to sing Happy Birthday. I eat here about 2 times a month for about the past year. I found this place because the sushi place nearest to me, SUSHI LAND, was absolute garbage. I mean honestly, how are you going to have mexicans working at a sushi place in Hacienda Heights, a predominantly Asian city?? But I digress....I almost always get the same items when I order here... Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Nigiri, and then a roll. Usually a Philadelphia roll or an Orange Roll. I have also had the baked lobster. With the exception of one time, the food has always been outstanding. Only once the Sashimi didnt quite taste fresh and I didnt finish it. But every other time the sushi was delicious. Ive gone here so much now they know my name from my order over the phone. Friendly staff... I call and order, drive there in 10 minutes and my sushi is ready to go. Miso soup, Wasabi and ginger, soy sauce and chopsticks all complimentary and included. Theyve never forgot to include those. I also usually order a bottle of Nigori Sake, which is very nice!

The sushi was good. The rest of the items not so much. The service was fast and efficient. Ordered the spicy tuna roll, Philadelphia roll and spider roll. All were well done. The salmon teriyaki was most likely frozen or already precooked and tasted mealy. The pork ramen was literally Top Ramen with some pork slice and condiments on top. You could tell because of the curly noodles.It was unfortunate because again, the staff was friendly and the food was brought out fast but the quality wasn’t the best.

This place is a HH staple! We order takeout at least once a month from here and miss going in person because they would take such good care of us. We love to get the Colima roll, the spider roll, the cucumber roll, a bento special for my dad. We always order extra tofu for my daughter who has loved their miso soup since she was 1.5 years old. During my last pick up they gave us some gummy candy. Oh dont forget to order some green tea ice cream to go as well.

One of my familys hot spots in Hacienda Heights. I have been going here for years. Everyone is super friendly and they offer a crazy variety of sushi rolls. They also have chicken, beef, and vegetable plates. Whats interesting there is a piano in the restaurant and someone from the restaurant will play various songs. Great place.

My favorite place to go! I just look for an excuse to be there. All the sushi I order is always fresh and tasty, they serve free miso soup and edamame. We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, baptisms, whenever we have visitors from Mexico as well; one of the best places to go! If you get lucky and it is your birthday, the female owner will play happy birthday live on the piano! She performs marvelously!

I used to love this place a lot more, but I think theyve changed owners and now the food is not quite as consistent as it used to be. With that said, I am still a huge lover of their Nabeyaki Udon as well as the Dynamite Roll. Tucked away in a fairly abandoned plaza. Its definitely worth a try!
