Walked in on Sunday for lunch with a group of 4 people. The place was mostly empty. There was a sign that said wait to be seated but the waitress said you can sit anywhere you like. We decided to sit at a table rather than a booth to have extra room but the waitress said that we couldnt sit there because it was a table for eight persons. She decided that we only needed a booth instead. I looked around and the place wasnt full and there wasnt many people eating. I told her that I wanted a table. She immediately became angry and started cussing at me in Chinese and yelling at me in front of the whole restaurant making racist remarks. I asked my group of people if was ok to leave? We all agreed that a customer should be able to sit anywhere you like especially when you are a paying customer. There is no need to be rude or yell and cuss at your customers in a foreign language. Needless to say we shall never return and mark this place as non American friendly. This place prefers to serve Chinese only. Paying Americans with cash in hand should stay away unless you want to be belittled.

Ive been here twice. Both times, I had several special rolls, and they seemed about average in terms of taste and quality. They are maybe a little pricey, without much variation in price ($11-$14 for special rolls) but overall about average for the bay area for this sort of sushi restaurant. They do have a pretty extensive menu of special rolls, so if thats your thing you might like this place, although they dont have some of the more interesting (probably non-traditional) ingredients that I enjoy (no mango, kiwi, banana, almonds, jalapeno, etc.)Today, however, I had a very bad experience here. I ordered three special rolls, all with no avocado. First, my food took a VERY long time to arrive. My first roll arrived WITH avocado even though I verified several times while ordering that I didnt want any avocado anywhere, but I was so hungry after waiting forever that I ate it anyway. When I asked the lady to make sure my next two rolls didnt have it, she didnt apologize for the mistake at all. My next roll came and it was missing an ingredient that I had specifically asked them to add and which I had agreed to pay extra for. The last thing I ordered, the Golden Towers, turned out to be MUCH smaller than it showed in the menu photo, and I feel that it was really overpriced because of this. The sauce was also cold and kind of congealed on top, as if they had been sitting for a while before they brought them out to me. So out of my three rolls, all three had something wrong with them, and it took an extremely long time for them to arrive. They arrived one at a time, and I think that the last one arrived 45 minutes or more after I first ordered, and I ended up having to wait 5-10 minutes between each roll. No apologies or explanations of why it took so long, so maybe they consider this normal, but I eat at a lot of sushi places and I have never waited that long anywhere else. Not recommended if you are in a rush. I wont be eating here again. I was very frustrated. They need to improve their customer service.

Rated this 3 out of 5 stars. These are the outstanding flavors we liked. That of the shrimp tempura and its sauce. The texture of the tempura crust was light and crunchy. The best we encountered as of recent. We like the Kalbi of the Teriyaki Beef Chicken dish. The quantity of the food served was generous. The presentation or plating of the food was quite nice. The marketing materials, like the menu and place mats are very classy.Ways we felt food we ate could be improved, were the flavor and moistness of the Teriyaki chicken, the texture and firmness of the rice in the Rainbow Sushi Roll. The Teriyaki Salmon was nicely cooked and attractively presented on the dish, however like the seafood items in the Rainbow sushi roll, fish items seemed not to have a seafood flavor and texture. This is something we noticed this week with food from another restaurant serving Poke in Whittier. Maybe its the source of the products, perhaps items may have been previously frozen. But in fairness this is making taste comparisons against fresh seafoods eaten on Oahu, Hawaii. We noted on the Sunday we ate, it was about half full and some families brought their little children to dine there. Also there were four Caucasian diners. The staff is friendly and service is quick. The clean up after people left was rapid. This place has elements of a nice establishment, tidiness would help make it even more attractive. We were there Mothers Day Sunday May 2023, and its at the lingering tail end of the 2-year Covid shutdown.

Customer service was well below satisfactory.I walked in today around 3-4 pm to pick up an Uber eats delivery. The counter worker glanced at me but did not acknowledge me. I stood there as she proceeded to do other things without at least saying “hello” or informing me that she will be with me soon. I would've thought she was going to proceed to act as if I was not there. Luckily, she finally does speak to me and hands me the Uber eats package, already prepared with safety taping on it.Unfortunately, the Uber eats customer let me know that some items were missing—a full plate and a side entree. Out of courtesy, I returned for the items because I knew part of the missing items were likely due to the worker's carelessness in how she was doing her job—as evidenced by the absence of a greeting (which is basic customer service and human decency).I returned, and now there was a new counter worker there. I let her know that I was returning to retrieve missing items from an Uber eats delivery that I picked up a few minutes earlier. She looked into the computer for the order and consulted with the worker that was originally there during my first visit. They responded with confused faces and questioning, saying “I did that order already?”. I understand the questioning to confirm the order and missing items, especially if they don't recall missing it. However, leading with that response and not also ensuring to follow up with a, “Sorry about that!/Sorry for the inconvenience.”, was very unprofessional and rude. It implied that they thought I was the one that got the order wrong and am somehow inconveniencing them when, in actuality, it is me and the Uber eats customer being inconvenienced from them not doing a thorough job in the first place.Anyways, she proceeded to package the missing items in a seemingly irritated manner, and dismissively hands me the bag of items—this time WITHOUT the safety tape!—which showed me again, the carelessness and lack of thoroughness in doing their job, as well as, the unspoken irritation with my being there for the missing items. This location is probably decent in all other aspects. However, the two workers I encountered today should probably be re-evaluated or better trained for their positions within customer service.

High-End Japanese Restaurant - Yakiya, no Á La Carte only Pre-Fixe menu! They changed the menu from time to time so you might get to try different dishes every time you visit. Located in the same plaza as 85 Degree & Panda Express, you cant really notice the black building, however when you enter the restaurant, you can feel the restaurant owners effort in the interior design, even in the restroom. With a drink, each person pays around $150+, but they are worth it! Each dish is amazingly delicious!I personally love the first two cold dish/appetizer - Crisp Nori Roll with USDA Prime Ribeye & Quail Egg Yolk and A5 New York Strip with Ponzu Jelly. It looks pretty & tastes yummy! Smoked Prime Ribeye is also one of my favorites, if I can order it separately, I would! Chawanmushi is super flavorful and you can taste the seafood inside the egg! Not going over on how amazing each beef dish is, but they are TRULY DELICIOUS! One special thing to mention is the birthday bone marrow shot, my friend got a whiskey shot! Also dont finish your rice too fast, save it until the wagyu with the hot spring egg!Yakiya, a high-end Japanese restaurant located in the Chinese District, does not have a la carte options, only the chefs selected set menu. The meal mix changes from time to time, so you may get a slightly different meal every time you go! In the same square as 85 Degree C and Panda Express, the black building appearance is actually not very eye-catching. Once you enter, you will feel the effort that the restaurant owner has put into the decoration. Even the toilets have a special sense of luxury. I roughly calculated that the entire set meal consisted of about 20 kinds of meals. If you add a drink, it would cost about $150+ per person, but every meal was very delicious, and you can feel the care and attention of the chef team!I really like the appetizers at the beginning: Crisp Nori Roll with USDA Prime Ribeye & Quail Egg Yolk and A5 New York Strip with Ponzu Jelly. The presentation, taste and freshness are all perfect! The smoked Prime Ribeye is also very special and will leave you wanting more! The chawanmushi is very fragrant and full of seafood flavor! I won't list all the beef dishes one by one, but they are all really delicious! The last thing to mention is that the birthday boy can get a special bone marrow shot, which is very interesting. This time my friend got a whiskey shot! Don't forget to finish the meal at once. When you have the wagyu and hot spring eggs later, you can eat them together. It's an unparalleled enjoyment!- Yuzu Juice- Crisp Nori Roll with USDA Prime Ribeye & Quail Egg Yolk- A5 New York Strip with Ponzu Jelly- USDA Prime Ribeye Tataki smoked- Melon Trio with green tea powder-Chawanmushi- Farm Market Vegetable-Beef cheek soup- Angus Beef Tongue- USDA Prime Ribeye Cap- USDA Filet Mignon- American Wagyu short rib- Ponzu Marinated Tomato- A5 Japanese Wagyu- American Wagyu- Bone Marrow Rice- Dessert - Sorbet-Dessert-Chocolate

Growing up, a typical weekend always consisted of a large family friend gathering where the kids would awkwardly converse while the parents laughed and drank. The round table would be filled with a large variety of food to share and each spin brought you a different dish. Thinking back now, these memories were a huge part of my childhood and have shaped and influenced my love for food and the way it brings people together.Recently I went to this restaurant that I've gone to ever since I was a kid and was able to truly appreciate the beauty that is Shanghainese cuisine. This cuisine is on the sweeter side and has a good balance between sweet and sour flavors. Here are some classic dishes that Shanghai is known for:1. Crispy Fish with Sweet & Sour Sauce 松鼠全鱼2. Shrimp Stuffed Eggplant in Pot 百花茄子煲3. Fish Fillet with Seaweed 香脆苔条鱼4. Braised Pork in Brown Sauce上海滩红烧肉5. Shanghai Style Spare Ribs 上海小排骨6. Sauteed Lamb with Pancake 小炒羊肉包饼7. Sweet Lotus with Osmanthus 桂花糖莲藕8. Baby Shrimp 深海虾仁(清炒/龙井/百合)9. Soybean Leaves 大豆苗10. Eight Flavor Sweet Rice Cake 秘制八宝饭@eatswithedith on instagram for more in depth reviews

Notice! The place changed its Chinese name and menu to hand pulled noodles store. The English name is still the same.Food: Lamb soup, skewer, and stir fried wide noodle was delicious. The meat is tender, no gamey smell. The soup was delicious, we finished all and had another bowl. The skewer is very cumin flavored, not spicy. The other clear soup is good but just scallion and cilantro flavored. The pork bun needs to be grilled longer, its too soft. To my knowledge and preference, the buns should be almost crunchier.Service: The management of the place needs to evaluate its priorities. While the food is delicious and we had great service as we arrived early before the dinner rush, we saw other patrons did not. The one single server was busy tending to the entire place and did not have enough time to provide the same great service to every table. One table didnt get menu or water when they sat down and had to get it themselves. Two tables didnt get water and had to remind the server for it. Two parties were waiting outside for the server to clear 2 dirty tables before they can sit down. Finally a guy from the kitchen came out to help him. Overall its a shame because the restaurant can have great food AND great service.

This restaurant has just opened and the food quality and service are very poor. The quality of the dishes is poor and the portions are small:Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival at noon. We ordered ten dishes in total. The menu prices ranged from $16 to $24. However, when we received the dishes, we found: First, the dishes were very small and not as large as the special lunch. Second, everything The dishes all have the same taste and ingredients. They all have onions, green peppers and a few pieces of meat, so they all have the same taste. Thirdly, every dish is full of side dishes. Everyone unanimously reported that whether it is beef, pork, There are only 5-6 pieces of chicken. The most important thing is that the service attitude is very poor:When we called the owner of the restaurant to ask these questions, their owner replied: I cook all the dishes. How about it? If you like it, dont come back. If you dont eat it, dont come back. We dont lack any of you as a customer. ” Then hung up the phone.Such service attitude and poor food quality left a very bad impression on us during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Poor service, Yesterday I and my son really wanted a boba drink, so we went to this place. before we had five people, but we decided to wait. The wait got longer than we thought. it took us about 30 minutes ? And in the end we got everything really bad. my son received his drink with very little ice. whats not OK, and I received a drink that wasnt mine. I think he was from the person he ordered after me. since I heard that he wanted with no sugar and so he was without sugar. Im not one of the people who judged, but the lady's how was making the bobas their appearance was not at all good. they had very disaggregated hair, which is not good at a restaurant.
